Ch. 171..175: The President's Pregnant, Ex-Wife Chapter 171-175
Chapter 171: Chapter 171 – It only means the person is running from something
"Robin, I got Mara’s hacker."
Robin was both shocked and excited at the hearing of the news, as he glanced at Sabrina who was already preparing to leave.
She felt that he was talking to Zayla and was already annoyed.
No matter how Sabrina tried to hide it, it was always visible the way anything about Zayla got her upset.
"How far is it?" Robin asked seriously. The moment he was able to get this hacker on his side, Mara was doomed for good.
"About four hours’ drive," Daniel responded and Robin sighed. His night was already taken away but he would still find a way to get all the sleep he needed.
"Please meet me at the office."
"I’m already there," Daniel said to his amazement.
Robin glanced at Sabrina again but this time, she was already on her feet, looking grossly irritated.
"Then I will see you in twenty minutes," Robin said and ended the call.
Then he stood up and blocked Sabrina’s path whiles he asked her,
"Should I take you to the office or the house?"
Sabrina could not hide it. Especially when Robin had said that Zayla meant nothing to him. She saw how excited he looked after receiving the call and tried to walk past him.
"Don’t worry about me. I can get a cab."
Robin blocked her silhouette with his well-built frame.
"I brought you here and I’m taking you back."
Sabrina was annoyed by his behavior and yelled at him,
"Aren’t you going to your fiancé?"
She didn’t know how to ask him the person he was speaking with on the phone and put it that way.
Robin smiled and gave his phone to her, surprised that she was jealous.
He was also asking himself if it was a good thing that Sabrina felt that way or perhaps, it was not what he was thinking.
"The password is our wedding anniversary date. You should tell me if it’s indeed Zayla."
Sabrina began to regret asking the question and decided to save herself the embarrassment, thereby holding his hand and pressing the phone back into it. Why would he use their wedding anniversary date as his passcode anyway?
"I don’t want to touch your phone."
Robin did not want her to carry a wrong impression of him when he was working so hard to make things right. Therefore, he unlocked the phone and showed it to her.
"If you don’t believe the name, you can check the number, and the time, in case you think I deleted the original call."
Sabrina glanced at the screen of the phone and when she saw it was Daniel, she pretended she had not seen and said,
"I don’t care who you talk to," she said and instantly headed to the door, feeling embarrassed, as Robin chuckled with a slight amusement before following her.
"You can take me home. It’s just an hour to closing time," Sabrina said after Robin closed the door to the passenger side and went around to sit in the driver’s seat.
"As you wish, dear one," Robin smiled and spoke.
Even though he wished to meet the hacker very fast, he did not rush through his drive to Sabrina’s mansion.
As soon as parked, he said to her, "Please don’t forget that we have a review at the hospital tomorrow."
Sabrina had not forgotten and responded, "We can go before you drop me at the office."
"That is fine with me," Robin said, happy with the arrangement.
Afterward, he sped to his office where Daniel was waiting for him.
"Can we go now?" Robin asked hastily but Daniel was relaxed over a glass of wine in Robin’s office.
"Sure, but are we going alone?" He asked without attempting to stand up since he was enjoying Robin’s expensive wine.
Robin did a rough calculation of the distance in his mind. He didn’t like drivers because he loved his privacy but,
"I can’t drive for four hours in and out. I will have to rest on the way to pick up Sabrina in the morning so I will get a driver."
Since the situation demanded it due to all his pending work the next day, he did not have a choice.
"Okay and what if he has people around him? I mean, he knows that you are looking for him," Daniel thought aloud but Robin felt he was overthinking and explained his reason for going after the hacker.
"We are just going to talk, not to arrest him. I don’t want to be his enemy."
"You want to have him on our side?" Daniel asked, not knowing if he should be happy with the arrangement or express dissatisfaction.
"Something like that," Robin confirmed.
He did not have any more appointments so he said to Aria before leaving, "Shift my appointments tomorrow to the afternoon. I will be arriving late to the office."
He had in mind to buy a few clothes tomorrow since he did not have the intention of going to the penthouse anytime soon.
Aria nodded her head and jotted it down before Robin left with Daniel. The driver was already ready and brought a land rover since Robin’s other cars could only take two people.
"Follow the map," Daniel said to the driver, who nodded his head and began the journey.
Robin slept for most of the journey, waking up about an hour before the time and feeling hungry.
"Is there any food joint around?"
He was sure to not get a good restaurant around but due to the hunger he felt, he was ready to make do with a food joint.
Daniel chuckled. Even he had slept off along the way, just for a little over an hour.
"Robin, we are only surrounded by bushes," he leveraged before Robin began to take notice of his surroundings.
"Where are we?" He frowned and asked.
Daniel smiled and said, "I don’t know. We are just following the map."
The closer they got to the venue, the more Robin realized that something was off.
"Why would he live in a place far from town?"
"Please ask him when you see him," Daniel shrugged.
His job was to bring Robin here but as for that question, he did not have an answer.
Robin yawned a little and began to check his environment again. It was all dark with only the light of their car showing the way.
After what seemed like hours when it was just thirty minutes or so, Daniel said, "I think we are almost there."
Robin was suddenly jolted to reality and checked his surroundings again.
"Why should such a house be in a place like this?"
"It only means the person is running from something," Daniel ended for him.
Chapter 172: Chapter 172 – He realized he was being tracked and run away
"Are you sure that somebody is living there? There aren’t any lights."
Robin was skeptical since the security lights were all off. It was okay for the internal lights to be off since it was late but for the security lights to be off raised a doubtful question in his mind.
Daniel was equally confused because he was sure that they got the hacker this time around.
"This is where the map brought us. We should just go in and see."
The driver was afraid of his boss getting hurt or something. Being better trained in self-defense, he made a suggestion,
"Sir, please let me go in first, just in case."
Robin did not see the need in letting the driver go in first since his intentions were only to have a chat to convince the hacker to work for him. He was ready to pay anything just to nail Mara.
"We are going in as civilized people and not spies. Knock and wait for a response," he refused and rather suggested.
The driver obeyed and knocked for the first time but there was no response. He knocked again but still nothing. When he knocked for the third time without still any response, he turned the knob and went in.
It was dark but warm since the heaters were turned off not long ago so he switched on the light.
As soon as Robin and Daniel saw the light, they went in together.
"Hello, is anybody here?" Daniel began to yell but was met with nothing. No echo and no response.
"Hello, we are not here for trouble," Robin said after Daniel while carefully looking around the small but cozy living room in a small cozy house in the middle of nowhere.
Nobody responded but there was a coffee cup on the dining table. When Robin touched it, it was lukewarm and the content was half empty.
"Somebody was here not long ago," he observed and remarked.
"Let’s check the rooms," Daniel suggested. There were only two rooms so while Robin checked one, Daniel checked the other while the driver checked the kitchen.
As they did, there was nothing of interest to them.
"Do you know what I’m thinking?" Daniel asked and Robin responded,
"He must have realized he was being tracked and run away."
"Exactly," Daniel admitted, feeling like his hard work was flushed down the toilet.
"So, what do we do?" Robin asked, cursing silently in his heart for having lost the opportunity again.
Daniel sought something that would make it easier to get the hacker’s identity to be able to do a normal search instead of tracking him.
"Let’s check and see if we can have some form of identity to work with," he suggested and again, the three men ransacked the two-bedroom cozy house.
They lost track of time as they searched for anything. Pictures, a name, or anything of interest but they still came back to square one.
"Did you get his name?" Robin asked, almost getting depressed.
He was even more disturbed because of how Sabrina seemed to trust Martin even more than he, Robin.
"No. Just a stage name which would not do any good since it won’t be on his ID," Daniel said in a disappointment-laced tone.
Robin felt helpless, asking, "What do we do now?"
"I would have to start all over and make sure he doesn’t know he has been caught when I get him. It wasn’t easy though," Daniel recounted.
Tracking an excellent hacker was very hard if the person did not want to be found.
"How long will it take?" Robin asked impatiently. Daniel shook his head, feeling sorry to disappoint him once again.
"I can’t tell. Now that he found out and left, it would take longer, unless he wants us to find him. I’m very sorry."
Robin saw how disappointed and tired-looking Daniel was and felt sorry for him. He knew that his best friend worked very hard to get to this stage, thereby encouraging him,
"It’s okay. Let’s go back."
Whiles on the way, Robin could not sleep again because of the three hours of sleep he had before so he asked Daniel,
"Has things improved between you and Lizzy?"
He was hoping that should things improve between Daniel and Lizzy, then Lizzy could put in some kind words on his behalf through Daniel to Sabrina. Daniel smiled broadly at the thought of Lizzy.
He was beginning to believe his father’s words after meeting Lizzy. His father was a hardcore player in his youth but he said that after meeting Daniel’s mother, he lost taste in other women and the only one he ever desired was his mother.
Daniel did not believe in love by then but told his father that should he indeed find a woman who attracted him so much to make him feel guilty about his actions, he would stop seeing other women and he did just that.
It was very easy because he lost interest in other women and the only woman he thought about was Lizzy.
He knew she was very busy and never disturbed her with incessant calls. He would drop messages here and then and add a note for her to respond only when she was less busy.
Lizzy would respond either immediately or later, which was encouraging enough for him, making him feel that she indeed had feelings for him too, not pushing him away like she did before.
"We have another date on Saturday. How about Zayla? I can see that Kennedy’s investors are on his neck. If he gets arrested, how would you get your revenge?"
Robin was elated that things were improving between Daniel and Lizzy but his eyes darkened at the thought of Kennedy. Even his blood would not be enough to pay for what he did to Robin’s mother and his daughter’s blood would not be enough for what she made Robin do to Sabrina.
"I will. The law would not permit him to be kept there for too long. He is broke and his wife is not with him. I will wait and see who bails him out."
"That is easy. Zayla would," Daniel shrugged and leaned his head against the headrest while they undertook the four hours journey again.
"I will not allow her," Robin said defiantly but Daniel wondered how that was going to be possible when Zayla was Kennedy’s daughter.
"How are you going to do that?"
Chapter 173: Chapter 173 – Sabrina is worth all my patience
Robin’s expression was cold while he revealed his plans to his best friend.
"I would not let her out of the villa and that reminds me, I want fake diamonds that look exactly like the ones my father left behind."
Daniel frowned a little but felt the discussion becoming more and more interesting. He was beginning to love his best friend more, now that Zayla was exposed.
"What do you want to use them for?"
"To close the Chapter of the diamonds. If no one knows about the originals, it would be safer until Sabrina decides what she wants to do with them."
Robin had thought about the diamonds and felt that for as long as Kennedy and Zayla knew it existed, they might still try or get other people involved in getting it. He had to make it seem like the diamonds did not exist.
"You won’t touch them?" Daniel asked, surprised that Robin would not sell it and invest the money but Robin shook his head. He was already doing well without it, feeling that it was safer where it was.
"Not in this life. They are hers."
Mentioning hers, Daniel knew that Robin meant Sabrina and was somehow happy, asking,
"Have you made progress with her?"
Robin shook his head. "No, but I won’t give up. Sabrina is worth all my patience."
Daniel smiled. He was happy anytime Robin said good things about Sabrina.
"I wish you all the best, Robin."
"Thanks, because I need it," Robin responded with a bitter smile when Daniel asked again,
"Are you now accepting that you are in love with Sabrina?"
Robin ran his fingers through his hair in frustration. For someone like him who was always in control, he never thought that a woman could mess him up the way Zayla did.
"What I feel for her now is the same thing I have felt about her for a long time but I kept telling myself that it was not right for me to feel that way about her and was trying to channel it to Zayla. God knows this was the reason why it never worked. Sabrina was the one who had my love from the onset."
The late realization made him sad. Even if the donor had remained a mystery and Zayla had not put it in his head that she was going to donate one of her kidneys, he was sure to not have treated Sabrina the way he did even if the marriage was forced.
"I knew that you were in love with your ex-wife so I believe you," Daniel said comfortingly but Robin’s voice was thin whiles he asked,
"Daniel, how do I win her back?"
He felt so lost in the pursuit of his ex-wife. His father made it easy for him when he made it hard on himself by agreeing to that stupid divorce.
Daniel was equally helpless in this situation and could not encourage him enough.
"Don’t ask me. I’ve never been in a relationship but you can start by doing the things she likes."
Talking about the things Sabrina liked, Robin only thought about what she asked that he did not know how to do.
"Will you teach me how to cook?" He asked Daniel seriously, the latter was shocked,
"What?"
"The last time she was admitted to the hospital, she asked me to cook for her," Robin revealed, trying to make him understand where he was coming from but Daniel chuckled and teased him,
"She must have been trying to mock you."
Robin knew it was true but it did not stop him from still learning how to do it as far as it made her happy.
"I know but what if I do it to impress her the next time she asks again?"
"That is not a bad idea but do you have the time?" Daniel asked seriously, knowing how Robin overworked himself sometimes but Robin smiled and said,
"For Sabrina, I will make the time."
"Then it has to be around next weekend," Daniel said since he already had a date with Lizzy this weekend.
"It should also be at your place because I’ll be sleeping in my office for a while," Robin revealed Daniel was confused this time, asking,
"What about your other houses and the villa you are building?" He already knew the reason why Robin did not want to be in the same house as Zayla.
"I don’t want the press to cover anything to make Zayla suspicious that I found out about her lies."
Daniel was not happy that Zayla was still being treated with so much love, if even it was fake. For as long as Sabrina never got anything like that in her marriage, he did not want Zayla to get it too.
"So, you are still giving her the princess treatment?"
"No way. No chefs, no cleaners, with a hundred-dollar expenditure limit," Robin frowned and explained.
Daniel finally smiled with relief and his respect for his best friend was immediately restored.
"That is a serious punishment for somebody like her."
"This is just small. Please get me the fake diamonds first. I need to clear the knowledge of the real diamonds from her and Kennedy’s minds. Then again, I have to forge my father’s handwriting," Robin revealed another part of his plans to him.
"You are going to add a fake note to it?" Daniel quickly discerned and asked.
"Yes."
"I can’t wait to see how it turns out," Daniel smiled with Satisfaction.
They dozed off for the rest of the journey and when they got back to the car park, Daniel was about to enter his car when Robin said with longing,
"You can sleep here. It’s already morning."
Daniel was still sleepy from being awakened abruptly so he agreed,
"Sure."
They both slept in Robin’s office after eating some snacks but by the time Daniel woke up, Robin was gone but left his phone behind. It was ringing and when Daniel saw the caller, it was Zayla.
He ignored it but when he was done freshening up and ready to leave, he walked out of the door and saw Zayla sitting at the reception like a mouse.
"I want to see Robin."
Chapter 174: Chapter 174 - Another form of great exercise is sex
Daniel was very happy to see her tamed like that but felt it was still not enough. She deserved worse than this. Thinking of a way to add to her misery, he responded coldly,
"He’s not here."
Zayla was still dialing Robin’s number and since the door was open, she could hear the phone ringing.
"You are lying to me. I can hear his phone ringing."
She never liked Daniel and did not care that he was rude to her. Her only problem was Robin. She needed him urgently.
"I don’t care if you believe me or not because I don’t owe you any explanations whatsoever. Robin left in a hurry because he had to take Sabrina to the hospital."
Daniel intentionally revealed it to make her jealous and it was obvious in Zayla’s brokenness that she was extremely sad.
When she fainted at the bank and was rushed to the hospital, Robin never showed his face for even a second but he was going to take his ex-wife to the hospital.
There was no pain equivalent to the bleeding of her heart at the mere thought of it.
"You can wait for him here," Daniel said and glanced at Aria who instantly locked the door. Zayla was in pain and that made Daniel very happy.
Not an ounce of happiness did he ever want Zayla to experience in her godforsaken life.
"So, you won’t let me go and wait for him inside?" Zayla asked in a pitiful tone, ashamed of being treated like a stranger but Daniel was not merciful.
"I’m sorry, Zayla, I was not instructed to let you in."
Daniel walked away as if she was nothing and all Zayla could do was shed tears. How could Robin leave his office for his best friend and not his fiancé? Zayla could not understand.
Her inkling began nudging her with the feeling that something must have happened when she fell asleep during dinner that day but she still could not recollect anything.
The way everything happened was so strange and she could not understand. Then again, thinking about how Robin treated Sabrina before, she was tempted to believe that this was exactly who he was.
However, what about his thinking that she saved his life? Why would he still keep treating her this way? The emotional torture on Zayla was too much, especially now that her father was arrested and she needed to find help to bail him out.
Robin bailing her father out was out of the question because Zayla knew that he wouldn’t.
The drivers and security would not allow her to go anywhere after doing all the chores in the penthouse, though she broke some plates and glasses along the way.
She also had to eat the terrible food she made herself, all because Robin sent the chef away.
Robin left her with no choice but to wait for him right there, facing the awkward gazes of his staff member.

"Your labs are fine and the baby is growing very well. Your next appointment is in four weeks," the doctor said to Sabrina.
Robin had arrived early to take her to the hospital but due to the time, her doctor was not able to make it and assigned her to another.
Robin also took the opportunity to investigate the doctor who gave Zayla those fake health records but was told that he resigned and left New York City.
He was still determined to find him to make him pay for leading the falsehood.
"Thank you, doctor. When can I know the sex?" Sabrina asked curiously since she wanted to begin shopping for her baby clothes and other items.
The doctor was calm, warm, and welcoming of all her questions.
"For the sake of accuracy, let’s confirm it in 14 weeks but during your next antenatal, we shall be able to confirm if you are having a multiple birth."
"Does that mean like twins?" Robin asked with excitement, Sabrina rolled her eyes. She had so much hope when she waited to announce the pregnancy to him, only for him to return with Zayla.
"Yes."
"That will be awesome."
Robin’s excitement knew no bounds. He so desired to be a father and having twins would be a dream come through.
"Yes, I hope you have been helping her to exercise?" The doctor asked seriously. She was a middle-aged woman. Before Sabrina opened her mouth, Robin took charge,
"We would just have to inculcate it into our daily schedule but what kind of exercise do you recommend?" He asked seriously, seeing another opportunity to be close to Sabrina.
"Casual walks, swimming, and cardio exercises are all good. Well, since you are her partner, another form of great exercise is sex."
"Doctor, you are mistaken. We are divorced," Sabrina quickly cut in, Robin’s face dulled. That was a very interesting part she just took out.
The doctor was surprised that they were divorced because of the way Robin was all over Sabrina. He was a doctor from another state and had no idea what their story was.
"Oh, sorry. I will see you in four weeks," she quickly brought everything to an end, feeling guilty for recommending sex to a divorced couple.
"That would be three days after her birthday," Robin revealed, lightening the atmosphere and chasing away the doctor’s discomfort. She smiled and said,
"Then I hope we top it up with multiple births."
Her words made Robin extremely happy. He was planning on how to take care of his children very well, ensuring that they don’t become like him.
"Now that would be perfect. Thank you very much, Doctor."
Sabrina stood up, ready to leave, at the same time Robin was showing his appreciation to the doctor, not knowing how to feel about twin delivery.
She would have been overjoyed if it was with a man she loved who was not Robin but the thought of having two children at the same time for Robin, made her feel caged.
On the way to Sabrina’s office from the hospital, Robin thought carefully and suggested,
"Sabrina, I am willing to do anything for our child including the sex part."
Chapter 175: Chapter 175 – Zayla, choose between me and your father
For Robin to think about having sex with her, his ex-wife after divorce was one of the awing things Sabrina heard today.
Not forgetting the way he has been behaving strangely these days, she never thought it would top it up with such a ridiculous suggestion.
"Robin, what makes you think that I would want to have sex with my ex-husband?"
There was a sudden coldness around Sabrina which made Robin uncomfortable. It was saddening to him, how Sabrina was smart with matters concerning him but seemed dumb when it related to Martin.
"Sabrina, the doctor suggested it."
Sabrina shook her head at how he was trying to pretend as if he was innocent of his own words.
"But she also suggested other ways. We have a treadmill in the mansion but I just haven’t had time for it. I will use it for thirty minutes every morning so I don’t need your help."
Robin was not happy to not take part in her exercise routine. For the rest of his life, he was ready to do anything and everything, just so he could have his ex-wife back but Sabrina was not making it easy for him.
She was the one at the receiving end of his brutality during their time together and no matter how Robin termed it, she just could not see them back together again.
"But I want to help you," Robin stated. "Is it wrong for me to want to help when you are the mother of our unborn child or possibly children?"
There was pride at the tip of his tongue when he mentioned children but it was as if Sabrina had wax in her ears so he continued to explain relentlessly,
"You forgot that I asked you to come back to me before. I want to remove the label of ex-wife if that is where the problem is."
"The worst time of my life was the three years I spent with you. Being your ex-wife is the best moment of my life," Sabrina stated angrily.
It was the truth and Robin knew she was not just saying it to make him upset or to make herself feel better.
His resolve broke at that moment and he did not speak about it anymore.
When he dropped Sabrina at the office, he wanted to call Daniel to ask if he was still in the office so he could get them breakfast but only then did he realize that he left his phone in the office.
"Can I use your phone to make a call please?" Robin asked politely but Sabrina rolled her eyes,
"Robin?" She felt that he was up to something again.
Robin shook his head. "Please Sabrina, I left my phone at the office."
Sabrina realized it was the reason why they did not have any distractions today. Thinking through it, she gave him her phone.
Robin dialed Daniel’s number but the name appeared on Sabrina’s phone and he was not surprised.
"Robin."
"Daniel, have you left already?" Robin asked while Sabrina waited impatiently for her phone.
"Yes, you left your phone and Zayla is waiting for you," Daniel revealed. Robin felt annoyed.
The mere mention of that name could cause his liver to shrink but he had not finished dealing with her. There was still so much in store for the bitch.
"Aright. I wanted to know if you wanted breakfast."
"Thanks, but I’m already home," Daniel responded.
Robin was a little saddened. It was not hard for him to admit that he felt lonely and Daniel’s presence last night was a great companionship for him.
"Alright, goodbye," Robin forced a smile and said before asking Sabrina, "I hope you’ve had breakfast?"
He passed the phone to her and she responded whiles opening the door before he could reach it,
"Yes."
Robin still alighted from the car anyway. He walked around and faced her.
Staring at her as if trying to imprint her on his mind, he finally said,
"I will see you in the evening."
Sabrina checked the time on her phone and realized it was almost lunch time which meant that Robin had spent almost half of the day with her.
She knew it was a huge sacrifice for someone like him but since it involved her, she did not want it.
"Half of the day is already gone. You should focus on your work," she advised but Robin knew it was because she wanted him away.
After finding out the truth about the villa, all he wanted to do was do anything she wanted to make her happy but staying away from her was not part of it.
"Dear one, our child or children equally needs my attention. I will see you in the evening."
Sabrina frowned but did not say anymore and walked away. She never imagined herself to be divorced with this heavy burden of an ex-husband on her shoulders.
When Robin arrived at the office, he was surprised to see Zayla crying at the reception. She had not seen the worst and was already crying. So sad she was not as strong as Sabrina.
He said nothing to her. More like he had not seen her or her existence was so invisible like the very air he was breathing.
He walked to his office after greeting Aria and Zayla was even more heartbroken while following him to his office like a dog.
"What do you want?" Robin barked the moment she shut the door, Zayla shivered but remembered that her weapons against Robin were saving his life and the pregnancy.
"Robin, I saved your life and I’m pregnant for you. You also said that everything you have belongs to me so I have every right to be here."
Robin scoffed, not able to imagine how shameless Zayla was. He retorted sarcastically, "So you want to work here? Should I get you a desk?"
Zayla was even more ashamed by his words, she could not help lowering her head. Without lifting it, she said to him,
"Robin, my father has been arrested and I want to go and see him. The driver would not take me there and the security would not allow me to go on my own either."
This was Robin’s time to cause enmity between father and daughter, just as Zayla created between him and his father so he asked her,
"Zayla, do you love me?"
Zayla’s eyes lit and she answered, "Yes Robin, I love you very much."
"Zayla, then choose between me and your father," Robin said.
