Ch. 236..240: The President's Pregnant, Ex-Wife Chapter 236-240

Chapter 236: [Bonus Chapter]Chapter 236 - She’s not pregnant?

Aria grabbed the understanding that Zayla’s pregnancy might be faked since everything about her including her words had been fake so far.

She never liked Zayla but after receiving a public embarrassment like this, she could not help feeling pity for her.

She pressed the fake bump and frowned a little.

Then she caressed the bump and her finger felt something strange so she moved her hand to the back and asked,

"Is it your underwear?"

Zayla was a little relieved, feeling that Aria did not detect it was a fake bump and responded,

"Yes."

It would be good for Aria to declare that the bump was indeed real.

Unfortunately, she did not expect what was coming.

"Then let’s take it off to feel your real stomach. The underwear is in the way," Aria said surprised by how her calm suggestion sent Zayla into a state of hyperventilation.

She looked at her father lying unconsciously on the floor and knew that no one would speak for her.

Ah, how could Robin be so heartless towards her to subject her to such public humiliation? Swallowing her fears, she said to Aria,

"We are in the open."

At this juncture, she wished she had been nice to Aria when she had the chance, recalling how mean she was to her all the times she went to see Robin, for which reason Aria was equally mean to her.

With Robin being around, Aria was being nice but Zayla knew in her heart that the woman did not like her.

"But you still have your dress on. I only cut the middle and it even looks like a new fashion," Aria said jokingly but it wasn’t funny to Zayla since her life and dignity were at stake.

Whereas Robin was growing impatient and annoyed by their little chit-chat and growled,

"Aria, do what you think is right. You don’t need her permission."

Aria bobbed her head and peeled the fake bump, everywhere in the auditorium was silent.

The relief that poured on Sabrina was like a bucket of warm water and her sigh was heard by Devin since he sat next to her.

All this while, she has been worried for nothing.

She could not tell exactly how she was feeling but this was totally unexpected.

This was the reason why Robin insisted that if she could not stay to take care of Zayla, then she could leave.

Sabrina was so happy but could not even show it.

The fact that her twins would not have to share their father and Robin would have no reason to have Zayla close to him again were all thoughts that calmed her raging heart from before.

Both Cobby and the general were shocked about this revelation except for Devin, who had a broad smile on his face.

Lizzy and Matilda garnered the same shock as the media reps and everyone present.

"She’s not pregnant?"

Lizzy was the one who asked after recovering from the shock and her voice was very audible due to how silent the auditorium turned out to be from before.

"It seems to me that it’s faked," Aria said with satisfaction.

The bitch must go down for messing up her boss’s life like this.

Robin might not be the best of character with women but the changes Aria saw in that aspect of his life for over a month now was nothing she ever saw before.

Zayla was trembling and her knees were so weak, they sent her to the floor, kneeling,

"Robin, I swear, I’m pregnant. I just have a nice stomach and the bump doesn’t show," she lied again, knowing that the pregnancy has been her only hold on Robin and the only reason why he sent her to the villa in the first place and also chose her over Sabrina.

She was not expecting it when a slap sent her lying on the floor from her knees right beside her father, she screamed, crying her eyes out as Robin said,

"You think my asking you to have dinner with me that night was because I loved you? I drugged you and had your blood sample taken and here is the test result, Zayla," Robin brought out the result from his suit pocket.

This time, Sabrina felt no pity for Zayla when she was slapped since she was not pregnant.

Zayla turned ashen, as she held the test result in her hand with shaky hands, feeling like the fool she was by being played by the man she thought she was playing.

"You... you knew?" she stammered and asked, Robin beckoned to Aria to go, not wanting her to stand for long in her condition.

After she left, he asked Zayla,

"Why did you think that I cut off all your allowances?"

Zayla instantly felt that the diamonds might as well be in existence.

Since everything was being broadcast live, she was sure that even if she went to prison, she could still pass the information to Mara to find a way of getting her out in exchange for the real diamonds.

"Then, what about the diamonds?" She asked through tears, Robin smiled, acknowledging that Zayla was very smart in what she does and must have discerned that he intentionally gave her the fake diamonds.

He was well prepared for her.

"That was because I thought you were the one who saved my life. It was the reason why I did not take matters into my own hands and killed you when I found out that you were deceiving me?"

Zayla’s breathing suddenly became faster, as Robin continued to explain in a mockery-laced tone,

"Or, did you think that I would not investigate when you kept refusing for me to go with you to antenatal or to touch your bump?" Robin asked, taking away the assumption that there was a connection to the diamond.

Whereas Cobby was confused. If the diamonds were indeed fake, then what about all the money Robin pumped into their trust fund?

Chapter 237: Chapter 237 – I need iced water

Robin ensured that no one had the faintest idea that it was all a trick for which reason he had to hide that part, even from Cobby.

"It’s great that the diamonds were fake if not..."

"Robin, she should still return the fake diamonds. What if it’s real and she’s lying?" Daniel interrupted Robin and asked, Zayla was already feeling dizzy, afraid that perhaps her father was rather deceived and the diamonds had been taken away for only 20k.

Robin nodded his head in agreement.

"You are right."

Then he glared at Zayla, she squirmed from fright since he no longer tried to pretend to like her in any way.

"Where are the fake diamonds? They should belong to Sabrina."

Zayla looked at her father helplessly, wishing that he would wake up and answer the questions for himself but there seemed to be no sign of that happening anytime soon.

Also, hearing how affectionately Robin mentioned Sabrina’s name caused an aching in her but whilst she went on to explain,

"My father sold them for 20k."

Robin pretended to be shocked.

"So even as fake diamonds, he still sold them for 20k? Now where is that money? It should still go to Sabrina, right?"

Daniel remembered that he bought the fake diamonds for 30k because they were rare so if Zayla claims that her father sold them for 20k, then she was telling the truth for the first time in her miserable life.

"My...my father already used the money," Zayla stammered.

The only reason why Robin could hold it in was because he had known the truth for so long.

Only he knew how it burned him every time he thought about it and how he wanted the world to know about it as well.

He was also sure that by exposing Zayla like this, a lot of men would learn from his mistakes and be smarter.

"Miss Chance does not deserve to live," somebody said from the audience.

"It’s true. She’s so selfish, greedy, and evil," another person said, Zayla feared that Robin might do as they have said since he made them the judges and begged,

"Robin please, I’ve loved you from the first time I saw you. Everything I did was because I loved you."

In her heart, she felt that she loved him but it was obvious that her actions never showed that she loved him.

It might have been because of his good looks or money, or even infatuation, or better still, lust.

Which woman who loved a man would destroy him the way Zayla did?

"You love me or you want money?" Robin asked, creating confusion in Zayla’s mind.

She could not deny that she indeed wanted the money and was beginning to understand that if she joined the money bit together, then everyone would say that she did not love him.

However, if she also said that she didn’t want the money, then they would call her a liar because of her previous actions so she remained mute in the end.

Her inability to answer the question gave Robin the understanding that everything about Zayla was all about the money and he went on to say,

"It’s easy for people to mistake money for love."

Then he pointed at the bundle of cash on the table, adding,

"See, Zayla, the money is there but it’s still unreachable to you."

Zayla could not see the money because of where she sat on the floor but she knew that right now, if Robin gave her that money and let her go, she would be able to start her life afresh and perhaps, make herself better than Sabrina.

She was also certain that Robin would fall in love with her if he saw her again.

"Please forgive me. I will leave and never bother you again."

Robin laughed internally at her request.

"Leave?"

What gave her that impression?

"After you ruined my marriage?"

Robin shook his head, blinking back the tears of all the pain he caused Sabrina, believing that she should not have been his wife when Zayla had saved his life.

"I wasn’t a good husband but Sabrina never planned to leave me until you insisted on aborting the child if I refused to let you live in the villa."

He let out a bitter smile.

"Why was it so, Zayla?" He asked, hoping that she would confess more of her crimes to give her a longer jail term but no matter what, Robin was sure that as soon as the news about her imprisonment died down, he would send an assassin to eliminate her even in prison.

Then again, he relaxed and tried to trick her into confessing some more since most of the crimes were in the past and there were no physical proofs of them like the death of Robin’s mother and how he ended up in bed with Zayla that night without remembering anything.

"Perhaps if you give me some answers, I might consider not pressing charges," Robin said and the guests expressed their dissatisfaction, feeling that no matter the situation, Zayla had to go to prison for her crimes.

Sabrina was also displeased with that promise but remembered he used the word, ’may,’ and held back from speaking.

She would only express her dissatisfaction if Robin indeed let Zayla go.

Robin, on the other hand, continued with whatever he was trying to arrive at, pretending as if he was not hearing the disapproval of the guests, whom he claimed to be the judges of this matter.

"It was because of the diamonds. My father knew they were there so he brought me back for us to arrange everything," Zayla quickly answered, holding on to Robin’s promise to not press charges, so that he wouldn’t change his mind.

Robin shook his head and said,

"That is not the question I wanted to ask you but since you mentioned it, I think we need your father to speak for himself, so you don’t lie against him to get yourself out of this mess."

Then he turned to one of the waiters and said, "I need ice-cold water."

Chapter 238: Chapter 238 – Please Robin, it has nothing to do with me

"Yes, sir," the waiter said and hastened away but Zayla could already guess what Robin wanted to do with the ice water and pleaded,

"Please let me wake him."

Robin glared at her with disgust, she felt as if she was covered in poo.

"Do you think you have the audacity to do so? Don’t forget that you are also on trial but as we wait for the ice water, the question I have for you is, how did you plan everything with your father?" He asked with a grim expression.

Zayla went silent in thought, wondering if it was right to expose all that her father did but Robin was one who usually kept his word so she decided to strike a bargain with him, though she was afraid.

"Do you promise to not press charges if I tell you the whole truth?" She lowered her head and asked him, Robin glared at her once again for a moment, thinking about paying her back in her own coin.

Zayla treated him with deceit so it would not be wrong for him to use the same approach on her.

As it’s said, what you sow is what you reap, and treat others the way you want to be treated.

In this matter, Robin would have to allow her to have a taste of how deception feels like.

"If you answer every question truthfully without being forced with slaps, I would consider it," he said but the audience was displeased with this arrangement.

Whereas, Daniel smiled internally, knowing that Robin would not let the bitch off the hook.

Zayla began to confess with her head lowered and no one asked her to raise it anyway because of how ugly she already looked from how messed up her makeup was and how her swollen face made it worse.

"My father said that he was a friend of your father before and he saw the diamonds. He also said that your father sold part of it to start the company and after it was successful, he bought it back and must have been duped at the time he went to buy it back."

Cobby had some questions to ask Robin about this diamond of a thing but felt that the time was not right. Maybe he should hold on until the party is over.

"Is that all?" Robin asked unamused since he already knew that part.

Also, he was happy to have hidden the part of the real diamonds just by the expression on the faces of some people in the audience at the mention of it.

Zayla swallowed hard and contemplated on if she should let out the next information as she looked at her father lying on the floor beside her again.

Feeling that if she left it out and her father confessed it, Robin would use it against her to go back on his promise rather than decide to confess it all, hoping to save both herself and her father.

"He also said that he gave your mother slow poison when she found out that my father had eyes on the diamonds."

Robin pretended as if he was hearing it for the first time and froze.

The auditorium was in chaos as the security had to stop the audience from throwing their bottles and glass at her and the man lying on the floor from the confession.

A tear dropped from Sabrina’s eyes at the confession of Kennedy’s involvement in Robin’s mother’s death.

The woman had died before she knew Robin but his father had told Sabrina a lot about his late wife by then.

He also informed her about how it was not easy for Robin to get over it because of how close he was to his mother.

Sometimes when Sabrina felt like giving up on the marriage, thinking that Robin would never change, she would remember those words by his father and have second thoughts, understanding that Robin needed help and could change.

It took everything in Cobby to not instruct Robin to kill the father and daughter, remembering how Ronald never moved on from his late wife, just like Cobby.

It was one of the things that bound them together and the general was now understanding the reason why Robin made mention of killing someone and spreading their body parts across the continent.

There was chaos in the auditorium, as some of the audience boldly said,

"Mr. Jewel made the promise but we as the judges would also make ours separately. She cannot escape a jail term."

"She has to die with her father," another one said.

Matilda was saddened for Robin and wished that Sabrina could forgive him as a way to comfort him since he already suffered so much and was only deceived.

Devin was even more sorry for Robin, regretting being so judgmental of him in the beginning.

The guy swam in money and walked with his head high but internally, he was equally broken because of deception.

Lizzy was so shocked, she went numb and as for Aria, she only kept shaking her head.

Robin was happy with the confession since he had proof now and would only have to get the old man to admit it as well.

Whereas Zayla was afraid of the angry stares pinned on her that she feared Robin was going change his mind about the promise he made just now and continuously begged him,

"Please Robin, it has nothing to do with me."

At this time, she realized it would be useless to plead on behalf of her father and rather plead on her own behalf so that being granted pardon, she could not plead on behalf of her father but with everything going on, she had no idea what Robin was thinking.

Robin was about to speak at the same time the waiter returned with a glass of iced water with the ice cubes visible in the transparent glass since he thought that Robin was going to drink it.

"Sir, the iced water please."

Chapter 239: [Bonus Chapter]Chapter 239 – I said nothing

Robin was moved by the sympathy shown to him by the audience, feeling touched to the core.

Whereas, the tears in Sabrina’s eyes saddened his heart.

He did not have the power to bring back his mother from her grave but would make sure that she gets the needed justice.

As for now, what mattered was ensuring that he got the confirmation of Zayla’s confession from the culprit himself.

"Pour it on his face," Robin instructed the waiter emotionlessly, the latter froze.

"Excuse me, sir?" He asked with shock, as Robin spoke in annoyance,

"You heard me. Or I’ll rather pour it on yours."

"I will do as you have said," the waiter quickly responded after confirming Robin’s words.

He poured the water on the unconscious man and he jolted awake, shivering from the cold.

"Zayla, are you alright?" He asked when all the memories rushed back into his mind, regretting not leaving with his wife when she suggested it.

He was also amazed by how everyone glared at him as if they wanted to skin him alive.

"How can I be fine?" Zayla asked sarcastically, wondering why her father would even ask such a question in the situation in which she found herself.

Robin’s gaze, which carried so much loathe, pinned on the man sitting pathetically and soaked in cold water on the floor.

"Your daughter tells me that you gave my mother slow poison. Is that true?"

"Zayla?" Kennedy yelled on the floor beside his daughter, gross disappointment lacing his voice, as he knew that his end had come.

His well-hidden secret for all these years has been let out because of his stupid daughter.

Zayla was annoyed that her father was still trying to cover up the truth even when it was glaring that there was no need to do so.

From all that she comprehended, she was doing this for both of them and her father should be grateful, instead of being ungrateful about it.

"Dad, let’s tell him the truth. He said that he won’t press charges if we confess," she spoke with confidence and hope, Sabrina was turning her head to the left and right, surprised that after Zayla had smartly put up so much to destroy her marriage, she remained extraordinarily stupid.

Her stupidity was like a crown on her head, not hidden and making the audience mock her in their hearts with a satisfactory glare.

"You are so stupid to believe that," Kennedy retorted in annoyance and Robin realized that the father still had his brains intact, unlike the daughter.

Nevertheless, it did not stop him from doing as he had planned.

"Is the accusation true or not, Mr. Chance?" Robin asked with a scary calmness.

Kennedy knew Robin quite well and knew he had tricked Zayla into telling him the truth but Kennedy was not going to fall for it. No, he was not going to allow himself to be deceived, and killed.

He was smart enough to know that Robin would never forgive him if he admitted it but made a mistake in denying it by saying,

"I didn’t kill your mother."

The audience began to murmur things he could not hear clearly, as Robin broke them down for him.

"Nobody mentioned killing. Giving her poison does not mean that she died of it. It was a slow one anyway."

Robin was only trying to get him to admit that he gave the poison to his mother, for which reason he put it that way but Kennedy was not stupid.

He was older than Robin and easily figured out what the young man was trying to do to an old fox like him.

"I didn’t do anything," he stood his grounds and Robin shook his head, about to signal his bodyguard when Zayla interrupted her father,

"Dad, after you found out that the diamonds were fake, you mentioned that you killed Robin’s mother in vain," Zayla confessed, Kennedy felt like slapping the folly out of her brain.

It seemed to him that Zayla could be smart today, but stupid tomorrow. Why would she not have the decency to remain wise in a situation like this for Christ’s sake?

After everything she did, she still believed that Robin would be kind to her. How much more foolish could she be?

"I don’t remember. Wherever you heard it from, go and find the person. I did not say anything like that. I don’t even know his mother," Kennedy denied everything.

If he was able to make it out of there alive, he was sure to leave New York City for good, even if he had to do so on foot.

Zayla was taken aback by her father’s indifference when she felt that their lives depended on the truth and went on speaking in front of the camera,

"You said it so why are you denying it now? Don’t you want us to leave here alive?" She did not hide the anger in her tone but Kennedy was only angrier.

"Shut your stupid mouth. I said nothing!" He yelled, Zayla shifted backward on her ass, creating a distance between them on the floor.

Robin watched the pair, thinking about how to get the truth out of the father to confirm the daughter’s words, so he could send them to prison before sending someone to finish them off.

"But she said that you and my father were friends before," Robin recounted calmly and Kennedy was lost for words, hating his daughter for being so foolish at a time like this.

However, since his daughter was creating this mess for him, she was going to lay in it alone, even if he had to deny her.

"I don’t know where she got those ideas. I think a part of her brain is not functioning properly."

Robin looked at the bodyguard and this time around, for him not to faint, the bodyguard refrained from the slaps, rather pulling Kennedy roughly to his feet.

Grabbing his hand, the bodyguard tilted it to the back.

"Arrrrrrhhhhhhh," Kennedy screamed in pain.

Chapter 240: Chapter 240 – Robin and Sabrina’s guilt

Kennedy was in pain like he never felt in his miserable life before, wondering how his daughter would be so callous to have let out such important and confidential information.

If they were even processed before the court for Zayla’s crimes, it would not have warranted a long jail term since there was no life involved but now, Zayla has destroyed him for good, just by letting out that information.

He also knew it would be hopeless to keep denying it, just by seeing how the angry monsters were not pitying him in his painful state but rather seemed to be wanting more pain inflicted on him.

"He would stop if you tell us the truth," Robin said in a slightly calm tone, confirming Kennedy’s thoughts.

Kennedy knew that the truth would cause him more trouble but the intensity of the pain he was already going through, did not allow him to stand his ground.

"Okay, okay," the middle-aged man screamed with tears in his eyes, looking pathetic but no one took pity on him.

"I made a call in your father’s office when he was out, talking to somebody about the diamonds he told me about."

Kennedy was crying like a baby in the course of his narration, everyone paid close attention to him and the words coming out of his mouth, feeling that it would be the final piece to everything ongoing.

"I didn’t know that your mother was in your father’s inner office and she heard me until I heard her telling your father about it."

Robin having an inner room in his office was something he learned from his father, who used the inner room to destress, and sometimes, Robin’s mother would even rest there anytime she went to visit.

It was just sad that Robin had changed the concept, using his, as a place to release his sexual tension before but even that had changed.

He was now only using it as a bedroom but would no longer have to sleep there after tonight since everything was clear between him and the bitch and he would no longer have to look over his shoulders for fear of gossip that might affect Sabrina.

"It’s the reason why I gave her the slow poison even though your father did not believe her."

"I was afraid he would kick me out of his life and I would not have access to knowing anything about the diamond anymore," Kennedy explained.

Cobby was in tears at how his best friend’s wife was killed just because of mere diamonds.

These snakes have been in their lives for so long but it was such a pity that they were just knowing about it.

"Look, I was solely in need of the diamonds but sadly, they are even fake," Kennedy concluded, and the auditorium went silent.

They had never seen or met people as heartless as Kennedy and his daughter in their short or long lives before.

Robin had one final question before deciding on their fate.

"So, is that the reason why you brought your daughter back?"

Robin could not believe that the father and daughter manipulation began with his late father and mother.

At this point, he did not know whom to blame, since his father already blamed himself in the letter, and pleaded for revenge, even without making mention of it.

It was like a seed sown in Robin’s family but Sabrina was equally affected by it, enduring all the pain that came with it.

"Yes. Her meeting you was not an accident. I told her about the places you liked to be and it was easy for her to meet you again," Kennedy answered like an obedient child since he could not even move his right hand without suffering intense pain.

He could also discern that any wrong move and his whole body would suffer the same pain.

Sabrina felt so lost, not knowing what to do in a situation like this anymore and not understanding the reason why Robin did all this on her birthday.

She did not feel any form of happiness, especially after hearing about how Robin’s mother was eliminated so easily and how she fell for Zayla’s niceness and took her as a friend, letting out her secrets to her.

If she had not told Zayla about Robin’s predicament, she would not have had the opportunity to mess up both their lives.

Sabrina could not help the guilt lying on her chest but then again, everything had begun with Robin’s late father, who accepted Kennedy as a friend.

In the end, only confusion, regret, and pain dominated her thoughts.

"I see. So Zayla, how did we end up in the same room that day, and did I take advantage of you?" Robin asked and Zayla’s head, which was already lowered, refused to look up for him to read her facial expressions.

However, he could not help feeling that she might pretend to not understand the question and ask directly,

"Have I ever fucked you, Zayla?"

Sabrina was suddenly interested in that part, especially when all her life, she made herself believe that Zayla was Robin’s first love because of the position in which she saw them years ago.

If Zayla admitted that Robin was never intimate with her, then that would be a great relief.

"No Robin, that night, you were drinking with Daniel at the club and you were telling him that you try your best to fuck your wife every night, even when you are tired but she still had not conceived."

Robin felt ashamed because that was the truth.

Though he always convinced himself to not want Sabrina, he so desperately wanted a child with her that when it did not happen, his womanizing habits increased, together with his love for alcohol.

Funny enough, he never had the desire to get any other woman pregnant except Sabrina so he would always use protection.

Sabrina shook her head and a bitter smile settled on her lips whilst Zayla continued to say,

"You also said that you did not love her but if she had a child, you could adjust to it."
