Ch. 241..245: The President's Pregnant, Ex-Wife Chapter 241-245

Chapter 241: Chapter 241 - all I want is for you to rot in hell

Robin felt so ashamed and it was too late to stop Zayla from saying anymore since Sabrina already heard and when their eyes met, he felt his heart ache.

The pain registered in her eyes was so dominant, that he did not know how to take them away, soothe, or make her feel better.

How would he let her know that he has been in love with her all this while but it was just because of the guilt he felt before that Zayla saved his life, which had also been clarified?

Zayla was only concerned about confessing the truth to gain her freedom and continued to speak, not knowing the trouble she was causing for the couple.

"That is how I heard it. You excused yourself to use the washroom and I bribed a waiter to give you another drink. After that, I got someone to help me and I took you to one of the hotel rooms," she revealed but Robin only remembered taking a drink from a waiter and not the latter part of the whole story.

"What happened there?" He asked curiously, hoping that he did not try anything silly but when Zayla confessed, he felt his heart singing a new song.

"I undressed you and undressed myself before lying beside you. I just pretended to be asleep when you woke up and as expected, you were already feeling guilty so it was easy to make you believe that we slept together."

Sabrina felt as if a great burden was lifted from her chest.

So, the things she was fearing before, were even nonexistent.

Robin must have been a jerk but he never slept with Zayla and there was not going to be any illegitimate child whatsoever.

It felt great that her children would have their father to themselves and no evil woman would be in their lives.

Robin was relieved that nothing happened between him and Zayla but he was also concerned about what Sabrina was going to feel about his relationship with her and the twins she was carrying.

"I still insist that Miss Chance and her father should rot in prison," one member of the audience said, Zayla paled and pleaded with Robin,

"You promised. You promised to not press charges if I confess."

The audience did not agree to that arrangement and Robin did not either.

It was good that his trick worked but with the kind of person he was, he could not make it obvious that he lied to her and rather asked,

"Yes Zayla, I made a promise but can I ask you a question?"

Zayla was nodding her head,

"Yes."

Robin forced a smile. Everything was out now and it was time for judgment so he asked her,

"How will you feel if you are sent to prison after I promised to not press charges?"

Zayla was already uncomfortable, feeling that Robin might not keep to his word as promised this time, and cowered,

"I would feel terrible and betrayed and I will never be able to trust you again."

Her appearance was terrible as she spoke, Robin scoffed. Did he want her trust anyway?

"It’s good that you feel that way because that is exactly how I am feeling right now for how you have manipulated my life, deceived me, and put me into this mess but I will forgive you on one condition."

Everyone was furious at the mention of forgives but Sabrina felt worse, vowing in her heart to never have anything to do with Robin if he forgives Zayla.

"What is that? I will do anything," Zayla said eagerly, sitting on the floor and looking up pleadingly to Robin like he was her savior.

The loath Robin had for her was immeasurable and as for her father, he just wanted to cut him into pieces but there were already people waiting to torture these two for him.

"Great. Make Sabrina marry me again. If you can do that right now, then you are free to go but if not, then I would have to allow the law to take its course. But as for your father, he can never be forgiven for what he did to my mother," Robin said coldly.

He knew that Sabrina would not take him back at the moment, for which reason he gave Zayla the task.

He knew that he was going to win back his ex-wife somehow but it might take baby steps, especially after Zayla’s confession Robin was ready to make things right and explain things to Sabrina after the party.

Zayla stared at Sabrina, regretting destroying their friendship.

The moment she tried to rise to her feet, Sabrina barked,

"Don’t even try to come close to me. You wanted Robin so you destroyed my life. Now you have him. Happy now?"

The smile on the faces of the audience was priceless because if Sabrina’s remarrying Robin would give Zayla freedom, then everybody wanted them apart for Zayla to be punished.

Seeing how Robin had left her at the mercy of Sabrina, Zayla felt helpless.

She still hated Sabrina but now, her life depended on her for survival.

"Sabrina please, I’m very sorry. Robin loves you. Even before he found out about your pregnancy, all he kept talking about was you. We never even slept in the same room. He loves you, Sabrina," Zayla said honestly but her heart was filled with envy.

If not for her life at stake, she would never have said this truth as well.

However, after Sabrina learned that Zayla was not pregnant, all the pity she felt for her, flew out the window and she wanted the bitch to rot in prison.

As for her and Robin’s matter, it had nothing to do with Zayla.

Robin was the father of her twins, for which reason she would never be away from him.

"Forget it Zayla, it won’t work because all I want is for you to rot in hell," Sabrina barked, just as Robin expected.

Chapter 242: Chapter 242 - Robin, what if Sabrina does not take you back

Robin knew that he had to clarify the issue of his presence in Sabrina’s because of the pregnancy bit.

That was what it looked like but not the true story.

As for now, he had no intention of letting Zayla and her father off the hook, though her torture would not begin immediately.

He wanted to witness it himself, for which reason he would have to wait until after the party was over.

When that was over, the court would take over.

"You heard her. She won’t take me back so you have to pay for it," Robin said with a painful expression, Zayla grew whiter than before.

Robin stared at the bodyguard, who beckoned for one more bodyguard to join him, as they dragged the father and daughter out of the auditorium on the floor.

It was a very shameful thing to happen to a once prideful father and daughter.

Kennedy was so upset, that he yelled,

"You stupid girl. Have you seen what you have caused?"

Zayla was a crying mess after realizing that Robin lied to her, just as she had been lying to him. This was indeed karma.

"I was only trying to save us," she cried whilst they were being dragged through the entrance with the audience throwing glasses, bottles, or whatever they could find at them, the janitors got busy cleaning the mess.

Even the bodyguards received a few and by the time they reached the car, Kennedy was all bloody from glasses piercing him, his anger burned towards his daughter,

"You are useless," he cursed.

After they left, all attention was now on Robin and Sabrina.

Robin was about to say something when Sabrina cut him off,

"I feel better already. Let the party begin."

Zayla’s prediction would not give her back all that she lost but at least, the truth was out of the bag and Zayla would be brought to justice.

That gave something to be celebrated at Sabrina’s birthday party.

As the videos were viral, the netizens’ comments were terrible, some of them would have killed Zayla and her father if they had seen them

Everyone laughed and the atmosphere was lively again, as Robin beckoned to the MC for the party to indeed begin as Sabrina had requested.

The music was turned up and the party mood was restored after the janitors finished cleaning up the mess.

It was as if nothing had happened a few minutes ago.

"What do you think about the outcome?" the general asked Cobby, the latter went into deep thoughts before he responded,

"It’s a good thing he made it public. The netizens’ comments would make Sabrina feel better and who knows, she might forgive Robin and take him back but as for Zayla and her father, they are terrible human beings."

"That is an understatement," the general said before somebody hugged him from the back, a calming scent wafted through his nose and he smiled, knowing that it was Matilda.

He pretended to be upset and scolded her a little.

"I thought you had forgotten about your father."

Matilda went around and sat beside him before speaking accusingly,

"You told me that you were going on a mission. Was it successful?

Her father was not going to fall for such a lame excuse.

"The mission was successful but does not mean that you have to keep away. Why do you have all my personal, official, and private numbers?"

Matilda knew she had been caught, feeling guilty and thereby using a different approach.

"I didn’t want to disturb you on the mission."

"Because you are happy so you don’t need your father anymore, right?" He asked accusingly. Matilda shook her head before responding,

"I would not say it that way."

"Then give me a better way," her father insisted, looking at her with admiration.

His daughter was all grown, right before his eyes and it was too late for him to realize it.

After culinary school, she would also be getting married to Devin, Cobby’s step son.

Matilda felt that her father being all too offended by her not checking on him was because of one thing,

"Dad, you are missing mom but I’m not her."

The general let out a bitter smile, missing his late wife and regretting all the times that he was not there for her.

His work always came first and when he thought it was now time to give his family attention too, his wife was already gone so his love transferred to his daughter but Mara brought enmity between them for years and now, it was impossible to have those years back to make it up to her.

"You are right," he agreed. This was the first party he thought to have enjoyed and also knew that it was because of Cobby’s company, which made it so.

"I will go back to my seat then," Matilda said and the general agreed,

"Go on."

Whilst the general was chatting with Matilda, Cobby excused himself and went to call Robin,

"Can I ask you something in private?"

"Yes of course, dad," Robin agreed and stood up.

He excused himself and together, they went to an isolated area before Cobby asked, "about the diamonds..."

"You don’t have to worry. The originals are there but I just didn’t want anyone to know," Robin cut in and explained to remove the confusion on Cobby’s mind but Cobby could not help but feel that Robin was just saying it because he did not want the money back.

"Are you sure?" He asked seriously, Robin gave him a nod, going on to assure him,

"I will take Sabrina to see it tomorrow if she gives me the chance."

Pain settled on Robin’s face when he spoke.

"Good. I was thinking about returning the money," Cobby revealed but Robin refused it.

If their divorce had followed through the last channel, then Sabrina should have taken half of everything he owned but she took nothing.

"Dad, even if there were no diamonds to begin with, I never intended to take the money back. I equally have shares in the JCs so it’s no big deal," Robin said but Cobby was disturbed that Robin was doing it with the hope of getting back Sabrina but what if,

"Robin, what if Sabrina does not take you back?"

Chapter 243: Chapter 243 – Martin is at the car park

"Robin, what if Sabrina does not take you back?"

Robin had already weighed all the options, including that probability, and concluded that whether Sabrina accepted him back or not, he would never give up, especially when they would be co-parenting in the future.

"Dad, have you forgotten that even if Sabrina refuses to take me back, she is still entitled to fifty percent of everything I have as an alimony?"

Cobby sighed, as the understanding dominated his mind that Robin indeed owed Sabrina an alimony, though Sabrina had refused to take it.

Therefore, whatever money he gave them was nothing compared to what she deserved.

"I get it and I hope that she forgives you, Robin, You have changed so much and you deserve to be happy," Cobby said genuinely, wishing he could help but was only braced with all the impossibilities.

"She already forgave me," Robin said, knowing that what he wanted from Sabrina was for her to be his wife again.

"Then that is good news. I suggest you don’t keep her lonely on her birthday. A lot of people are around her already. Give her attention," Cobby frowned and said, seeing the people around Sabrina.

Though he felt that they might just be congratulating her, he was still afraid for her safety because Mara and her brother were on the loose.

Robin was equally uncomfortable and jealous upon seeing the three men around Sabrina and wondered the reason why they did not approach her when he was there but right when he excused himself.

He noticed that Devin had also gone to greet the general and Daniel was engrossed in a conversation with Lizzy so Sabrina was left to fight her demons alone.

Robin shook his head at the thought and began to hasten back towards her.

"Yes Dad," Robin smiled as Cobby headed to the place where he sat before.

When Robin arrived at Sabrina’s table, he was surprised to see her sigh with relief at his presence, which meant she was uncomfortable but was also trying her best to be a lady.

Two of the men who saw Robin, quickly walked back to their seats, except one who had not noticed him and kept saying,

"Miss James, please ignore those ugly men and dance with me."

Since it was her birthday, she thought to honor it for courtesy’s sake especially when Robin had not opposed it, although he was standing there but Robin did not see it that way.

"Move away. How dare you ask her to dance with you?" He snarled the man looked a little shaken and stammered,

"I....I...I’m sorry sir, it’s just because it’s her birthday."

He took two steps away from Sabrina who was happy to be saved by the bell.

Devin soon returned at the sound of Robin’s voice over the music, since their tables were close to that of the general and Cobby.

"No matter the occasion, no other man is allowed close to her so get out."

Robin was not only sending him away from Sabrina but also out of the party, which made the man reluctant.

Robin had no idea of whether he worked for him or Sabrina since their companies were large and Robin for instance, only dealt with the CEOs and once in a while with the managers.

Thus, there were thousands of people working for him whom he never set eyes on.

Also, he could be a friend or relative to any of Robin or Sabrina’s top-ranking business associates or even Cobby’s invitees.

"Mr. Jewel..."

"Would you rather be thrown into prison? What is your name?" Robin cut him off and asked, the man was uncomfortable.

"I just wanted to give her a birthday gift," he falsely calmed himself and spoke but since he ignored the first part and did not give Robin his name, Robin grew suspicious and observed him critically.

Connected to the man’s ears was a speaker that led to a man waiting in a car at the car park of the hotel.

A frown lined his face upon hearing Robin’s voice from the speaker.

"If Robin is there, then just leave her for now, and wait until she goes to pee or something. She’s pregnant and might do so soon."

At the auditorium, the man being interrogated by Robin, upon hearing the instruction from the car park, carefully said,

"It’s okay, my bad."

He turned to leave when unexpectedly, Robin grabbed his arm, as his suspicions grew because of how the man had refused to leave at first but was suddenly comfortable to do so.

Tightening his hold around the man’s arm, Robin demanded,

"You said that you brought her a birthday gift. I want to see it."

He felt the man whose arm he was holding stiffen and Robin felt like a cat who caught a mouse.

He did not know if it was just because of his jealousy at the sight of any man close to Sabrina or his instinct but any time he felt that something was not right, it always turned out to be so.

As he glanced around looking at the two other men who left upon his arrival, seeing similar earpieces in their ears and knew that he had more meat on the butcher’s table.

"Tell him, ’okay,’ and that you are going to bring it and come for it at the car park," the man in the car said to the one apprehended through the earpiece.

Suddenly, Robin felt him relax as he said,

"Let me go and bring the gift."

From the way he delayed before giving the response, Robin called the bodyguard.

"He said that he has a gift for Sabrina. Please help him to bring it."

Robin was studying his mood and saw his face instantly beaded with sweat.

"It’s not necessary," the man said but Robin was curious about the way he paused and the earpiece in his ears so he reached out and removed the earpiece.

The man swallowed a lump in his throat when Robin lifted it to his ears and as soon as it got close without touching his earlobe, he heard a sound coming from it.

"This is even better. I will leave the gift in the car and hide."

Robin recognized the voice and did not speak again. He asked two steps to his table and whispered in Devin’s ears,

"Martin is at the car park."

Chapter 244: Chapter 244 – Dear one, I’m coming also, since I’m your bodyguard

"Martin is at the car park."

Devin was about to say something when Robin brought the earpiece close to his ears.

He did not want Martin to hear Devin’s voice to know that he had been informed or was aware of anything going on.

"Did you hear what I said? Are you on your way? Hum, or something. Let me know that you can hear me," Martin was yelling over the earpiece so Devin cleared his throat and nodded at Robin before standing up and walking out of the auditorium.

He was so furious looking but Robin only shrugged. After all, he was known as the bad one.

In matters concerning Martin, Devin was the best in handling it since he was also a victim of Martin and his sister’s wickedness.

Robin’s back was turned to the man when he spoke to Devin so the man had no idea where Devin was headed.

Robin ensured that Devin was a distance away before he said to the man, after returning the earpiece to him to not create suspicions,

"You forgot to mention your name."

"Rich Frost," the man mentioned a fake name but Robin was not interested in the name, and was just trying to buy time.

"ID?" Robin asked and the man began to sweat, giving Robin the understanding that he must have lied concerning his name.

"Alight, go and bring the gift." Robin signaled the bodyguard to keep an eye on the man, confirming that he was indeed working for Martin since he could not produce the ID card as a result of the fake name he mentioned.

As soon as Rich Frost left with the bodyguard, Robin went to the general’s table, sat on one of the empty chairs, and said,

"Uncle, please let your bodyguards keep an eye on those men at table fourteen. They all have a special kind of wireless earpiece in their ears and I feel that they are communicating with Martin."

Hearing Martin’s name, the general’s anger boiled and Matilda excused them to Sabrina’s table, feeling all protective of her best friend whilst the men continued to talk.

"Is he here?" The general asked, referring to Martin, and Cobby was suddenly filled with anxiety.

Martin’s obsession with Sabrina scared him, just like Mara’s hate towards the former.

"At the car park but I don’t want Sabrina to know, so she won’t panic but I already sent Devin there," Robin explained but the general knew that Robin would have a plan and wanted to know,

"What do you want to do with the men?" He asked and Robin explained,

"I will need them for questioning so they mustn’t leave."

"Noted," the general agreed.

If Martin was going to be apprehended, he equally had to be there.

Robin turned around, at the same time one of the two men was about to approach Sabrina again but seeing Robin, he quickly turned around.

However, the general had seen it too, confirming that Robin’s suspicions were correct.

It was clear to him that Robin’s love for his ex-wife made him extra vigilant.

Robin ordered the MC to continue with the program so they would close early, as he was itching to deal with all the people going to be apprehended tonight.

When he sat in front of Sabrina, the MC announced,

"We shall invite Miss James to cut her birthday cake."

Everyone was clapping for her and those who thought before that she was a barren woman who had enjoyed Robin’s money without giving him an heir after the revelation today were filled with respect for her.

She had Robin in the palm of her hand and could have just told him that she saved his life to change her situation but decided to keep it to herself for true love to grow in his heart for her.

She was one in a million and everyone began to adore her as she rose glamorously to her feet.

After enduring so much, she still stood tall, elegant, and beautiful.

If only they knew that she was also pregnant with twins for her ex-husband as many of them wished for just a child for her since they were clueless about that part of her life.

"Do you need my help?" Robin asked teasingly and somehow, since those men gave Sabrina a scare, she did not refuse and said,

"Well, it’s my cake but you can be my bodyguard."

Then she smiled at Lizzy and Matilda and announced,

"Girls, let’s go and cut the cake."

Robin shook his head, taking the job of the bodyguard and after the cake-cutting, a popular musician was announced to grace the occasion with his music.

Everybody was enjoying the party, drinking, dancing, and eating but Robin was so anxious to know what was going on at the car park.

Because of Sabrina’s safety, he could not leave her alone, especially when she said,

"I will use the ladies’ room."

She was about to stand up when Robin said jokingly,

"Dear one, I’m coming also since I’m your bodyguard."

He could not tell her directly about the danger around, called Martin.

Robin knew that Martin loved Sabrina but for him to do something so gruesome, not caring if he tarnished the name or reputation of the woman he claimed to love, made him one of the most dangerous men on the face of the earth.

Sabrina frowned at Robin’s joke because it wasn’t funny to her and she wondered if Robin understood the meaning of the word divorce.

She also knew that they had a lot to talk about after the party but for now, they were still just the friends they started being a few weeks ago.

"No, you can’t go with me to the ladies’ room," she said seriously, about to get up again when Robin held her by the hand.

He knew that telling her the truth would cause her to panic but he would be there with her and also had her doctor on call.

However, he would never allow her to face danger when the truth was capable of preventing it.

"Sabrina, I didn’t want to tell you this because I don’t want you to worry but you are too stubborn."

"Tell me," she said seriously, Robin sighed and said,

"Martin is around and he sent all those men asking you to dance with them." Sabrina paled instantly.

Chapter 245: Chapter 245 – It’s better you stop running or you’ll get hurt.

Seeing the color drain from her face, Robin was disturbed and clarified,

"You don’t have to be afraid. Your brother is already taking care of it. He only told me to keep an eye on you and to make sure that you don’t panic."

Robin was afraid that if she found out he was the one doing everything, she would think it was because he was aware that she saved his life.

Since that matter was still pending, he felt it was best to do as he had done before.

Sabrina relaxed at the knowledge that Devin was taking care of everything on her behalf.

He had always been there for her anyway and she was happy to not be kept in the dark about the things happening around her so since she now knew, she wouldn’t be impolite to reject any man who requested a dance from her.

"Thank you for telling me. At least I won’t feel bad about not dancing with anyone."

Her words warmed Robin’s heart and also awoke his understanding that it was better to make her aware of the dangers than to keep them from her.

Those were the things that made it difficult to deal with her sometimes since she always saw the world from the peaceful side like she was.

At first, she would not have believed it but after being hit with the shock that took away her peace and sent her into a state of unconsciousness for some time, she was not going to be fooled twice.

"So, I will escort you to the ladies’ room with Matilda or Lizzy. They can go inside with you, and I will wait outside," Robin proposed and this time, she felt safer with him and agreed,

"Alright."

Sabrina stood up and told Lizzy to go with her to the washroom but Matilda still followed them with the excuse that she wanted to pee as well.

Robin waited a while and saw the two men stand up to follow her, whispering something into their cordless earpiece.

Robin was certain that they were up to no good so he turned in the direction of the general.

The middle-aged military man was smart enough to catch all the signs the moment he tuned his mind to it and already released two bodyguards to follow Robin, who had walked ahead without the two men knowing that they were being followed.

The three ladies went into the ladies’ room and when the two men were about to enter, Robin called behind them,

"Are you transgender?"

Robin could see the panic on their faces when they saw him before one of them said,

"Sorry, we read the sign wrongly."

Robin glared at him.

"Are you sure?" He asked, happy that he bought this hotel and hosted the party in it.

As such, he had control over everything.

The man smiled to hide the nervousness whilst saying,

"These signs are always exclusive to every hotel. They always vary."

Robin smiled, confirming that the men were up to no good because the signs of the male and female gender never changed for decades.

"Alright, I am the one who sent out the invitations. Let me see yours," Robin stretched his hand and calmly demanded, beads of sweat forming on the faces of the two men.

Sadly, they could not reach the man who sent them to bring the woman.

The two men exchanged glances. They wanted to attack Robin or run away but then, two men joined Robin, standing on either of his sides, and their defenses broke.

"Ehmmmm, I left my invitation on my table."

"It won’t be hard to come and show me but first, remove those things from your ears," Robin demanded.

They swallowed tightly, feeling powerless, and removed the earpieces but Robin’s hand was already stretched towards them.

"Hand it over."

The men were finding it difficult to reach their boss so they were skeptical as to whether they should just confess their crimes or still play the I don’t know game.

In the course of their inner battles, the two other men beside Robin were scary looking. Everyone knew they were from the military because they were guarding the general.

A glare from them was enough to make the two men cringe, they handed over the cordless earpieces to Robin.

Robin raised the earpieces close to his ears but to his surprise, he could only hear the sounds of the wind but no sound of a voice, he panicked.

"Who were you communicating with?" He demanded solemnly, wanting to know if Martin had been apprehended or escaped.

"Just ourselves," one of the men said but Robin had dealt with so many liars, making it easy to detect them.

"Telling the truth would save you rather than resulting in lies," he said in a warning tone, just as he heard the clicking sound of stilettos and said to the bodyguards,

"Please take them to where you sent the other two."

Feeling helpless and not able to reach their boss, one of them said,

"Please, we’ll talk."

Sabrina was done so Robin could not waste any more time.

"You had your chance. You can talk when you get there," he said indifferently and beckoned the bodyguards who dragged the two men away.

He met the women and led them back to their seats before saying to Sabrina,

"Dear one, I will give you your birthday gift later but shall we dance?"

****

At the car park, Devin arrived but due to so many cars, he could not locate Martin, since the latter had changed his car to help his disguise.

When Rich Frost and the bodyguard arrived, Martin stepped out of his car and when he saw Devin, he turned around and began to run.

Rich Frost was confused, not knowing whether to go for the gift since the bodyguard had seen the car door Martin opened before running away.

Devin has always been a violent person so he instantly gave Martin a wild chase, ensuring to not fall onto other people’s cars.

Reaching one of the cars with its owner changing a flat, he picked a wheel spanner whilst running and screamed apologetically,

"I’m borrowing it."

Without waiting for a response, he screamed ahead since Martin crossed the hotel entrance, joining the main road.

"It’s better you stop running or you’ll get hurt."

Martin did not heed the warning and refused to stop so Devin threw the wheel spanner and it hit his head, he lost his focus, and his face hit the side of a car door, he rolled and fell on the floor.
