Ch. 121..125: The Rogue is a Female Alpha chapter 121-125

I remember vividly the battlefield, that week, the chaos, the blood, the orders.

My brother was the first warlord to go, following the Royal command strictly. It has clearly said Slaughter, no mercy, no saving.

But something happened on the first battle so Xyrrha, the demon war general, had been commanded to lead the next wave, and she came home defeated.

The one who had bested her, the fierce warrior the surviving demons still whisper about… was it Zephyrine?

I stood at the portal, hands folded across my chest, feeling it pulse and shimmer. How tangled everything was. How easily I could find the loose ends now.

I bowed my head, recalling all that had happened. I had seen her parents, their faces seared into my memory. I swallowed hard and gaze into space.

For a long moment I stared at the portal. A vast ocean stretching behind the Lycan Kingdom. To ordinary eyes, it was just water, but it was more. Beneath it lay another realm, sealed from the shifter empire. We call it The demons.

I am part of them, I love them, I respect them. It is still my home. My stepfather rules there, kinder than my biological father ever was. My stepbrother, my closest bond, lives there too and will rule it after my stepfather, the demon king died.

I stepped back from the ocean bank, exhaling slowly.

Zephyrine.

She is still in my kingdom. I can feel it. She is raw with emotion, still unaware of truths she deserves to know. If she were to discover that I am part demon… I swallowed hard, the thought bitter in my chest.

I turned from the portal and walk into the hallway in silence. She deserves the truth, all of it, but not yet. For now, some pieces could be revealed; the rest would come later.

I reached the dining hall to see my two sisters. Their gazes spoke volumes, and Mearez rushed forward to stand before me.

“Lycannar. She deserves honesty. She has given her true heart for us all. We can’t lie to her.”

I nodded, swallowing.

“I know. I will talk to her.” And without another word, I passed her, taking the stairs up to my tower. I stopped at the doorway, scanning the living room. This content belongs to FіndNovel.net

She was nowhere and I walk into the Bed chamber only to find it empty as well. Then I match into the corridor

Slowly, I moved forward, eyes finding her standing there, hands folded over her chest. She needed answers.

“Zephyrine,” I called softly, sliding a palm around her waist. She softened in my touch and lifted her eyes to meet mine.

Those eyes, beautiful, wide, confused broke something inside me. I leaned in, to brush my lips to hers softly, but she turned her gaze away.

Her rejection now twisted my heart, yet I understood. She is an Alpha, bound to her people, doing what must be done.

“Zephyrine…” I murmured again, pulling her gently into my arms. She leaned her head on my chest, and for a few moments, time itself seemed to halt. Only us existed. But as always, she snapped back to reality, pulling away and keeping a cautious distance.

“Start talking,” she demanded sharply and just like that my pulse quickened. “Tell me everything, Lycannar. Now.”

Her mood had shifted. Even the fire in her eyes hinted at jealousy, and I wondered at the cause.

“Let’s go inside and talk,” I said softly, reaching for her wrist. She slapped my hand away and walked past me. I was left in confusion.

I can feel jealousy, restraint and anger in her… what had been whispered to her?

Inside the bed chamber, she stood rigid, hands folded, gaze fixed. I sighed, taking in the sight.

“Take a seat…” I offered.

“Tell me what you know about my family. And your relationship with that war general you call Xyrrha? You must love her to know her name,” she snapped, eyes piercing.

I blinked, blank, caught between awe and disbelief. I get why she is jealous now.

“I wasn’t in love with Xyrrha,” I said gently. She stared harder, and I shrugged. “I swear it.”

A small frown formed, and she walked to sit on a wooden chair, her eyes now on me.

“How do you know about my parents and brother? What connection do you have with demons?”

“After the battle, the demons sought refuge in this kingdom,” I replied, sitting across from her, eyes locked on hers. “You tore open the portal and broke the darkest spell, a gateway for them. They had nowhere else to go. They can’t live in Werewolf packs or rogue towns. This kingdom became their only refuge.”

She stared, awed, silent. I wondered what question she might ask next, but none came, She lowered her gaze, shaking her head, murmuring,

“So you shelter the demons who killed my parents…”

I went still, not from her words, but from the hatred that laced them. The venom in her tone made my heart plummet.

What if she discovered I was partly demon? Would she… break us apart? Regret loving me?

I lowered my gaze, set my jaw, and resolved. Some truths must remain hidden for now. She deserved the full story eventually, but the time had not yet come.

The silence that fell between us was deafening. I sat across from her, staring right into those beautiful eyes, knowing full well that anything I said now mattered. That it would shape our relationship for tonight and for the rest of whatever time we still had until all secrets are revealed.

I watched how she took in the revelation that demons were welcome in the Lycan Kingdom. Then she pulled back, narrowing her eyes at me, her voice low with anger.

“I didn’t know you Lycans supported demons in the war. No wonder you didn’t participate in the battle.”

I didn’t answer. I only stared at her, silent, and that seemed to frustrate her more.

“I’ve always wondered why the Lycans never fought in the war. Why it was only the Ashmere who received the Imperium order. Now I know. You locked your gates like a…” She cut herself off, but something flared inside me. Not anger exactly. Something deeper, darker. My body tightened with it.

“Not all battles make it to history, my Queen,” I said, my voice low but unyielding. “And just so you know Lycans don’t follow or obey Imperium orders. Only the King has the right to command.”

She swallowed hard, then nodded.

“Good. Then thank you for telling me where you stand. Since I clearly don’t matter to you.”

The path she was steering us down made me sigh.

“I’m not choosing sides, Zephyrine.”

“It’s clear you are. Maybe it’s because of that war general you speak of so fondly, as if you shared something more than words. The demons are evil. And it was the Ashmere who saved this shifter empire from them, while you Lycans hid.”

“Point of correction,” I cut in sharply. “The demons are not evil and we never hide. As much as I hated my father, I respected the fact that he didn’t just sit around and stare. We received orders too. I do.”

Her eyes widened, stunned by the firmness in my tone and revelation.

“Demons are nt evil. They’re certainly not. Trust me. They only follow a different culture, abide by different laws not like yours or mine. Don’t call them evil. In your pack, in every pack, there are evil men. Take my father, for example. He’s evil, but he isn’t a demon. He’s a Lycan. The same with werewolves. Some are good, some are vile. The Demon Realm is no different. Their warriors follow orders, just as you Ashmeres did.”

Silence fell again. I saw her expression shift.

“You sound like you know them too well,” she muttered, suspicion threading her voice. “How do you know my brother?”

The question hit the air heavy, sharp.

“How do

you know my father was a warlord? Or my mother? They were dead before I was even ordered to

I couldn’t answer. My jaw tightened, my chest constricted. I remembered that first battle. the one not led by Xyrrha but by my brother, who would have fallen if I hadn’t arrived.

I lowered my gaze, then leaned back in my seat, fixing my eyes on hers.

“I admire the warrior in you, Zephyrine. I respect the Ashmere for pushing the demons back. But don’t mistake me. Demons are not villains. They strike, yes, but they’re no more evil than the men you bow to.”

Her lips parted, her chest rising with uneven breath. My words landed, and yet she said again.

“You love her, don’t you?” she whispered suddenly, as if the thought had been clawing at her all along. “That war general who sought refuge here. She was your type, wasn’t she? Just like you too. Different. Strange. Weird.”

I raised a brow at that word.

“I’m weird?”

“Don’t twist my words.”

“That’s what you meant. I’m weird?”

She glared but said nothing. Then she sighed, lowering her gaze, her shoulders tight with fatigue.

“Let me ask you two questions, Lycannar,” she murmured. “Are there still demons in the Lycan Kingdom?”

My throat locked. The truth pressed against my ribs like a blade. Should I tell her the one before her carried demon blood?

“My father made a portal that sent them back to their realm,” I replied instead. She nodded slowly.

“And what was your relationship with her?”

“We are not talking about Xyrrha,” I said softly.

That was it. She rose abruptly and stormed toward the exit.

“Zephyrine?” I was on my feet, panic rising, following her down the stairs. “Zephyrine!”

The dining hall air was heavy when I cut in front of her. My sisters still sat at the long table, their eyes watching everything as she descended in fury.

“Will you calm down?” I asked, my voice tight.

Her answer was a shove to my chest, hard, but useless. I am stronger than she will ever be.

“Get out of my way, Lycannar. I’m leaving your kingdom.”

She tried to bypass me, but I blocked her path again. When I reached for her hand, she slapped it away, eyes blazing.

“You loved her, didn’t you? You had something with her. Tell me now!”

Her fury was a storm, but her eyes, gods, her eyes burned with possession. Fierce. Demanding.

I gave a slow, pained nod.

“We had a relationship.”

The moment the words left my lips, she broke. She moved to storm past, but I caught her wrist. She twisted, fast as a blade, launching a strike. I caught it, her momentum slicing air as I deflected. She countered with a kick, but I intercepted and pressed her against the table, pinning her firmly yet gently.

Her breath was hot, her jaw set in defiance. She shoved me again, hard, but I held.

“So what?” she hissed, her voice trembling with rage. “Are you in some long–distance love with her now? Am I the mistress in your life?”

“Zephyrine, stop.”

“I won’t stop until you…”

Her words cut when I crashed my mouth to hers. Hot. Possessive. A war of tongues and teeth. She kissed me back like she would burn me alive, clashing into me, consuming

me.

When she finally tore back, she was panting, wild–eyed.

I exhaled, shaky, pulling her into my arms, hugging her tightly, burying my face in her long hair.

“Stop calling yourself a mistress,” I whispered against her ear.

She stiffened, then pulled back to search my eyes.

“Then what am I? Who am I to

you, Lycannar?”

I cupped her cheek, brushed my lips softly over hers in a claiming kiss.

“You’re going to be my wife. Whether the Moon Goddess wills it or not.”

Her breath hitched.

“Lycannar…”

“Stay tonight,” I begged softly. “Let’s talk this through. Stay with

. I miss you too damn much.”

She searched my eyes again. Then finally, softly, tenderly, she kissed me. When she turned and walked up the stairs, my chest eased just enough for me to breathe.

I raked a hand through my hair, exhaling hard.

“Judging by that display, you didn’t tell her about the spear you took five years ago,” Mearez’s voice rang out softly. I turned to find her and Serena watching me.

“We will keep it a secret,” I muttered darkly. “Deep secret.”

Serena’s brow arched.

“Does that mean… you killed…”

“The Ashmere murdered the Abyss,” I cut her off, my tone low, almost broken. “My brother Hades was dying at their mercy. He is Warlord of the Demon Realm. Did you really think I’d stand by and watch?” Read full story at Find1Novel.net

The sisters exchanged a look, tension rising. Mearez sighed finally.

“And if Father finds out your woman is an Ashmere?”

Father. My stepfather. The Demon King.

I lowered my gaze, jaw tight.

“I’ll send Chantel with my words. Don’t worry, I’ll handle it.”

Back Where 123

When I walked back into the bath chamber, I stood still before the water, staring into its stillness. The cold chill crept over me, and I swallowed hard.

I felt… bitter. Sad. Pained. All because he seemed to believe so strongly that some demons were good. Yet… maybe he was right. Maybe there was truth in what he said. Just as there are good and evil among us, perhaps the same exists in the Demon Realm.

But their aura… it had always been so dark. They had slaughtered my warriors mercilessly.

It was only by the grace of the Moon Goddess that I had survived. If it hadn’t been for Moon, who knocked me off my horse to save me, or Jurrek, who rode up to seize me onto his saddle and galloped us away… I would not be here today.

I would have died in the hands of that war general, Xyrrha.

A chill ran down my spine again, and for a fleeting moment, I hated myself. If only I had killed her in battle… if only I had slit her throat and dragged her body down in defeat, she wouldn’t have lived to reach this Kingdom. She wouldn’t have lived to share any part of Lycannar’s life.

I closed my eyes, steadying myself against the hatred that brewed inside me, the regret that gnawed at me when I heard footsteps.

The door opened softly, and the steps paused before they approached. His hand slid over my hips, pulling me into a tender embrace.

“I’m sorry,” he whispered against my neck, lips brushing my skin. “I’m sorry, Zephyrine. Forgive me for everything.”

I swallowed hard at his plea. Slowly, I turned to face him, my heart clenching at the thought of him touching her as he touched me.

I tried to move away, but his hands held me firm, his eyes pleading.

“She’s in the past, Zephyrine. You know how much you mean to me now. Don’t be like this.”

“Like how?” I whispered. He searched my eyes. “Like a crazy woman? An unsteady Alpha? A jealous lover?”

Before he could answer, my chest tightened and the tears I had kept sealed for so long broke free. They spilled hot down my cheeks, burning my pride as they fell. I choked, breathless, then crumbled.

He stood frozen, stunned as I broke before him. My knees gave out, and I sank to the floor, sobbing. It felt like a blade had been thrust into my chest.

I knew it was his past. I knew. But it hurt worse than Nyroth’s betrayal.

The chamber echoed with the sound of my sobs until, at last, he knelt before me, watching me as though I were something beyond his understanding.

“Zephyrine…”

“I hate you.” I glared up at him through tears. “I hate you so much for doing this to me.”

“My gods,” he breathed, shaken. As if he couldn’t believe this was what his past meant to me. “You know she’s no longer in my life.”

“And yet you chose her over me,” I snapped. “You side with the demons and love The Abyss more than The Ashmere.”

“No. Why would I ever do that?”

He reached for my arm, but I shoved him off. He went silent, then sighed heavily.

નહ

“I’m sorry. I didn’t take the demons‘ side against you. All I said was that both sides follow orders. But fine, if that’s wrong, then I’m sorry.”

I glared at him still, unwilling to relent.

“You kissed her?”

At my question, his shoulders sagged in exhaustion.

“Zephyrine, please…”

“You made love to her? How many times? Did you love her more than me? Did you enjoy her moans more than mine? Maybe she was more skilled in bed and…”

I

“That’s enough.” His voice came low, firm, cutting me off. I gasped softly, trembling. He was steady now, honest, resolute. “She fell for me while she was here. And yes we had sex. Sex, Zephyrine. Not love. I tried, but I couldn’t feel anything for her. I grew bored before anything real could form. This isn’t about her being a demon. And don’t you ever compare what I feel for you to that. What I feel for you is consuming. It’s selfish, possessive, obsessive. You are mine. And I am yours. You know that, don’t you?”

His words left me speechless. Stripped of defense. In an instant, I threw my arms around him and kissed him hard.

Lycannar’s hands circled my waist, lifting me back onto my feet without breaking the kiss. Fierce at first, then hungrier, deeper.

My fingers tore at his shirt, pulling it off, while he yanked my gown down in haste. In moments, we were bare, locked in each other’s arms.

He kissed me like he would devour me, lips trailing to my neck, then latching onto my breast, sucking until I cried out.

I clung to him desperately, trembling as he lifted me so easily. His body pressed to mine, his hardness poised at my entrance. My legs wrapped around his waist instinctively as he steadied me, ready to claim me but at the last second, breathless, I gasped.

“Lycan?” He didn’t answer, too consumed. “Lycan!”

Finally, he paused, eyes burning into mine with starvation, with soul–deep need. My own body trembled in his hold. I swallowed, aching with how much we both missed one another,

“Lycan… we can’t.” I whispered.

It feels almost as if we are a newly wedded couple or perhaps as if we have been married for years, simply going through our nightly routine..

I reach for the towel, hang it in its place, and move to sit before the mirror. I glance back to see him pouring himself a cup of that potion he claims dulls his beast.

We have just finished our night bath, and though my body feels refreshed, I am heavy with lust. He hasn’t thrust into me, not since the moon goddess’s warning and he hasn’t spoken a word since.

I sigh softly, turning to face the mirror and lifting the curtain that conceals it.

I know Lycannar cannot restrain himself for long; the tension is too thick, the ache unbearable. His restraint is agonizing, for him and for me. It is only a matter of time before he breaks.

I stare at my reflection in silence, and what stares back makes me swallow hard.

I have changed so much in just a month with him. I was a woman who never cried without cause, yet here I am, grieving over the fact he once had a lover while I was trapped in Nyroth’s pack.

My gaze lowers to my palms, and for a breathless moment realization hits me still and cold.

I am completely in love with Lycannar. And I know, with this very hand of mine, I will kill any woman who dares rise as my rival.

“You okay?” his voice comes gently from behind. I turn to see him watching me from the table.

“Yeah,” I say quietly. “I’m just tired.”

“Would you like supper? You must be hungry.”

I shake my head.

“I’m fine. Early breakfast will do.”

He nods, returns the potion to its place, while I begin combing through my hair. I watch it fall smooth and dark around my shoulders.

Tonight, I wear a nightgown he chose. It fits perfectly, dipping low at the chest, leaving a teasing cleavage. A gown chosen for seduction, no doubt.

I glance toward him again, expecting him to be watching me, but instead I find him writing. He looks devastatingly composed, handsome and dominant even while penning a letter.

“I never knew you had someone to write to,” I murmur. “Official?”

“Personal,” he replies. “It’s to my brother, Hades.”

I blink in surprise, watching as he seals the parchment, then slides it into a cylindrical glass. Turning, he calls his bodyguard softly, and moments later Chantel appears at the door, head bowed.

“Deliver this to my brother Hades. Return immediately,” Lycannar orders.

Chantel enters, takes the case, and prepares to leave but his gaze flicks toward the table, lingering on the empty cup that held the potion.

“I’m fine, Lycannar mutters, as though to reassure him.

Chantel lifts his eyes to his king in silence before departing. The chamber feels heavy until the door closes.

“He cares for you,” I whisper.

Lycannar does not answer. He sat there, one hand on the table, eyes lowered to the floor. After a moment, he looks up with a faint frown.

“How did you meet my foremother?” he asks at last.

I pause. The moon goddess, his foremother. Legend says the first Lycan was born of her womb.

“It is a rite in Ash Pack,” I say softly.

“Did she speak of me?”

I drop my gaze, shake my head.

“Not truly. Only that… I must not give myself to a man I am not fated to.”

His expression softens at that. He nods, eyes lowering again.

I study him silently. My gaze drifts from his long hair to the golden anklets clasped at his ankles. Strange adornments he never removes. They look less like jewelry, more like chains meant to bind. I sigh, weary, and decide it is time for bed.

I rise, draw the curtain across the mirror for his sake, then lie upon the bed only to stiffen in shock.

Above me, stitched into the canopy, is my face. An embroidery so wide and detailed that whenever he wakes or closes his eyes at night, mine is the visage he will see.

I blink once, twice, unable to comprehend such obsession.

Slowly, I turn my head to him. He is deep in thought, troubled. My heart softens, and I slip from the bed to him. He told me he missed me, and I had been too blinded by jealousy to see the truth. I remember now how suffocating it felt in Ash Pack without him.

“My love,” I whisper, settling astride his lap. He leans back in his chair, his hands circling my waist, eyes fixed on me. His gaze lingers on my chest, on the curve of cleavage revealed by the gown.

“Serena chose these,” he murmurs. “Said they’d suit you. She was right.”

I lower my eyes, wrap my arms around his neck, and bring my lips close to his but pause an inch away.

“Lycan,” I breathe. Desire thickens between us, and he closes the distance, kissing me.

When he pulls back, his eyes burn into mine, and his voice drops low.

“Let me make love to you another way. One that won’t break the vow you made to my foremother.”

My heart jolts but before I can react he rises with me in his arms, carries me to the bed, and lays me gently against the pillows.

“In what way, Lycan? She said I must not lay with a man I am not bound to. That I will not bear a pup.” “She meant you must not copulate in a way that brings forth a pup. But there are other ways. Many ways.”

His words strike deep, and my breath catches as the meaning unfurls.

“You mean… anal?” I whisper.

“And oral,” he murmurs, brushing his lips against mine. His voice is tender yet possessive. “Let me be the first and the last to love you that way. Hmm?”

Back Where 125

My heart plummeted at his words, but not from fear, rather from the dangerous eagerness his promise

stirred.

Never had I dared to imagine that kind of intimacy, yet now, after hearing him, I realized he was right.

To the Moon Goddess, who is forever pure, such thoughts would never exist. I swallowed, staring up at Lycannar, his breath warm against my face.

Slowly, I reached for his collar and pulled him down for a kiss. He allowed me only seconds before pulling away, just as the glow faded from his eyes.

“You should sleep. Me too,” he muttered, voice low. “You must be tired.”

I blinked, disbelief catching me. Did he mean…

“I thought you wanted to…” I whispered, voice unsteady. “I thought you wanted to make love to me.”

His gaze burned into mine, but after a long silence, he shook his head.

“Not tonight. The full moon hasn’t fully left me. My beasts are restless. If I touch you now, I might hurt you.”

“Lycan.”

“I don’t mean what we did before. This time I’d need to bind you to the bedpost. Otherwise, I’d choke you. Hold you down until breath left your lungs. That’s what my beasts hunger for. sex until death. It isn’t truly me, but it is still my fault. That’s for another night, not tonight.”

With that brutal confession, he rolled to his side and pulled the blanket over us.

I lay rigid, his words echoing through me. At last I turned my back to him, refusing to speak. He must have been surprised by it, because his hand slid toward me, but I brushed it away.

“Zephyrine…”

“If you wanted me as much as you claim, you wouldn’t reject me so easily,” I whispered sharply.

“I’m protecting you. I don’t want to hurt you.”

“Then control yourself. Bind me if you must. Just don’t deny me.” My voice cracked with anger. “If you can’t, then forget it. I’m tired.”

I shut my eyes as if in sleep, though every nerve in me screamed for him to touch me.

And then he did. His hand slid over my waist, tugging me firmly into him. My heart pounded when his fingers slipped lower, caressing my thigh. He drew my nightgown upward in one slow drag, then slid his hand to my neck, holding me there.

With that grip, he forced my head to turn so his lips could claim mine. His kiss was hungry, heavy, and

when my eyes fluttered open, I met the molten lust burning inside him. I had dared him and now there was no turning back.

I rolled onto my back, and he loomed above me. His hand cupped my cheek tenderly, but his gaze dropped to the strap of my gown.

He tugged it down with deliberate slowness, exposing my pale skin to the air. My breath caught as his eyes traced me, hunger warring with restraint. When my breasts came bare, his eyes flashed black, the beast rising.

He started to pull back but I caught his hand and pressed it against me.

“Lycan..

“I’ll hurt you,” he whispered hoarsely. And then it happened.

His hand shifted, bones reshaping, fur spreading. His jaw locked tight, fighting for control. A beast’s claw rested on my breast, yet I guided it there willingly. My other hand cupped his cheek, grounding him to me.

His lashes lowered, a ragged sigh escaping. When his eyes opened again, they were grey instead of the normal, often pale gold. My touch had pulled him back. He lowered his face to my neck, his breath scorching.

“No one has ever calmed them like this,” he murmured, voice raw with his beast’s edge.

I gasped when his lips pressed into my throat, his hand now gliding with disarming gentleness along my thigh. He pulled my nightgown away, stripping me bare beneath him.

For a long moment, he only looked at me, drinking me in, caging me with his presence. Then his mouth claimed my breast, his hand squeezing the other firmly, possessive, controlling. A moan escaped me, one he silenced with a crushing kiss.

I clawed at his shirt, tearing it off him. But when I saw the glow of his runes etching across his skin, I froze.

“Lycan…” I breathed, eyes wide.

He stared down at me with hunger and madness entwined, and all reason slipped away.

I yielded. Entirely.

My wrists were pinned above my head, his body pressing me into the bed, his lips branding me with every kiss as he devoured me into the night. ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ꜰʀᴏᴍ
