Ch. 11..15: The Vampire Prince's Blindfolded Bride Chapter 11-15
Chapter 11: The person I fancy
The command was intimidating for Alora. She shook her head and requested Magnus not to do so. "I understand why Father didn't come here. Please Your Highness shall not trouble my family. I'll go to the place, where I belong," Alora said as she blinked rapidly. Her heart raced with the thought that Magnus might punish them.
"You aren't leaving this palace, Alora," Magnus clarified to her. "Let me remind you again. I am a man of my own rules. Your pleadings have no use on me. My order is supreme and it must be followed. I didn't wish to see you cry. Norman's biggest mistake is to ignore the person I fancy." Magnus even revealed his growing desires for Alora.
It had not been a day and she had already succeeded in pulling him in her charm. He had made up his mind not to let this woman go of his life at any cost. He needed her eyes, her blood, and her entire being.
Tobias and Odin whose eyes were still shut close were stunned to hear that the Vampire Prince was enticed by someone.
For Alora, it was shocking and unbelievable. She peered into his eyes to confirm his words. "Is it true?"
"Yes," Magnus admitted. "Leave this instant, Odin," he commanded.
"Yes, Your Highness." Odin pivoted on his feet and rushed to the capital.
Tobias decided to speak up, but he feared that Magnus might get angry at him. "I will see the dinner arrangements for Miss Alora." With that, he excused himself.
Alora wiped the remaining tears from the back of her palm while Magnus pulled back his hands.
"Why?" Alora asked.
"Think," Magnus said with an amusing smile. He loved playing this game with her. He returned to his seat, thinking she would finally realize what he wanted from her, instead of her blood.
Alora fidgeted with her fingers for a while. "Your Highness, don't be angry at my family. Venus's marriage has finally been fixed, and there should not be any kind of obstacle to that. I hope His Highness agrees to this small request of mine," she requested in a low voice.
"How can you be so forgiving for the family, who isn't even bothered how their daughter is? Only your mother cares for you, so I'll not say anything to her. That's the least I can do," Magnus stated and saw her mouth open to speak. "If you plead for the others, that will annoy me." He moved his fingers around his ring after giving her a warning.
Alora turned down silent and kept her head down. "They will hate me more," she said after a long pause.
Magnus knitted his brows together, not because he cared for their growing hatred for Alora but because he felt what kind of human Alora was!
"His Highness would have too despised me if I couldn't meet his gaze," Alora asserted. "I am born with this cursed fate, and I need to keep living with this," she added.
"Foolish woman!" Magnus chuckled.
Alora glanced at him, pondering why he used that remark. "It's better to stay foolish than harming the others with your words," she muttered.
"Did you just lecture me, Human?" Magnus's eyebrow raised at her.
Alora pursed her lips together as she didn't wish to speak. "I take my leave," she said.
"Come here," Magnus commanded her.
Alora gazed at him with a puzzled expression. She slowly moved toward him and halted upon reaching on his right. Magnus grasped her wrist and pulled her down. "Why did you never use this sharp mouth of yours to lecture your family?" He questioned her.
"If my words offended Your Highness, I apologize," Alora stated, keeping a respectful distance between them.
Magnus gently drew her closer by taking her hand, their faces coming closer together. "I'm not inclined to forgive you this time. Please me, and only then will I consider forgiving you," he whispered, his breath brushing against her lips.
Alora's throat tightened as her eyelids fluttered nervously.
"How can I do that?" Alora mumbled and she averted her gaze from him.
Magnus used his index finger to pull her chin in his direction. "Kiss me," he said.
"What?" Instantly Alora's eyes widened and she refused by shaking her head. "How could Your Highness demand something like that?" Her heart pounded against her chest in nervousness.
"Your cheeks are flushed red," Magnus said.
Alora touched her cheeks instantly. "No, they aren't. Your Highness shan't lie," she murmured and promptly moved away from him.
Magnus smiled to see her reaction. He leaned closer to her and rested his chin on her shoulder. Alora tightly clutched her dress when she felt his long, cold fingers brushing her neck. "The blood in your veins is inviting me," he whispered in her ear.
"But His Highness said that he doesn't wish to drink from me anymore," Alora said while gathering her courage.
"Yes, I did," Magnus accepted. "I told the reason too," he added.
"Cecilia said that Your Highness reached late at the palace because you were drinking someone's blood," Alora stated.
"Yes, but my thirst is still not quenched," Magnus replied. His fingers were still caressing Alora's neck. "Your heart... I can hear its beats," he whispered in her ear.
Alora quickly turned to him. Using her hands on his chest, she pushed him away without fearing the consequences. "Don't do that. It's wrong," she said with lots of courage.
"What did I do?" Magnus amusedly inquired.
"Your Highness is suddenly acting strange. It's not what I think of him," Alora said.
"And what have you thought of me?" Magnus questioned with a grin.
For Alora, it was difficult to say it aloud. She lowered her gaze while fiddling with her fingers. "I've never been close to any man. And it's not good. I hope Your Highness understands me," she stated.
"I didn't understand what you said," Magnus acted naive this time.
Alora lifted her eyes and bit her bottom lip. "Good night, Your Highness," she said.
Chapter 12: You are beautiful
Alora was pulled by her arm this time. Magnus's red eyes lingered on her lips. "I don't wish to let you go now. Stay here," Magnus said. "You said you liked talking with me. And for some reason, I love hearing your innocent talks," he remarked and flicked her forehead before reclining on the sofa.
"Your Highness, do you not miss your family?" Alora asked a question which brought a frown on his forehead. "I heard you've been living for a long time. You must have witnessed a lot of things during this period," she said with inquisitiveness.
"Yes, I don't miss my family," Magnus truthfully answered her.
"Why?" Alora queried.
"What do you mean by why? If you live a long life, you usually don't care," Magnus stated.
"Oh. It must be tiring for living so long," Alora said.
"Tiring!?" Magnus chuckled at her statement. "It's kind of fun," he asserted.
"How can it be fun? You never grow old. You cannot for relationship with anyone. You are supposed to live alone for a long duration," Alora explained. "I suddenly got another question for Your Highness," she said with a curious gaze.
"Hmm?"
"Why did His Highness not get married yet?" Alora questioned.
"Because I didn't find anyone attractive," Magnus replied.
"That's a lie," Alora said while squinting her eyes. "Our Kingdom has a lots of beautiful women," she said. Her eyes fell upon a portrait, which was of Magnus. "Was that recently commissioned?"
She quickly left the sofa and went toward it. Her head raised high as she found the portrait to be real. "Your Highness truly exudes the regal aura," Alora remarked.
"That was made around hundred of years ago. I have lost my interest in commissioning my portraits," Magnus informed her.
She tilted her head in astonishment as Magnus was standing next to her. "Because my mother insisted, I had to do sit for hours for this," he muttered, recalling the memory.
"His Highness hasn't aged at all in these hundred years," Alora said with an admiration for him. "It seems this portrait was commissioned a few days back," she stated. The beautiful smile graced on her lips made her look enchanting.
"If not for the blindfold, I'm sure men would have been crazy to be with you," Magnus suddenly remarked.
Alora looked puzzled to hear his statement. "What does His Highness mean?" she inquired.
"You are beautiful," Magnus answered.
Alora stopped blinking to hear him for a moment. Apart from her mother, she never heard such a compliment from anyone. When his fingers flicked in front of her eyes, Alora finally blinked.
From the pad of his finger he traced Alora's face and stopped it under her chin. "Because you are beautiful, you have such eyes, I believe," he said in a low voice.
Alora's fingers curled as a strange engulfed her. A feeling she never experienced before. She kept staring into the Prince's eyes since she wanted to hear more from him.
His hand were now on his head as he patted it. "Beautiful people are always blessed with something special, so you are." Magnus smiled a little and noticed the tears in her eyes.
He withdrew his hand, realizing his words turned Alora emotional. "I'll drop you to your chamber," Magnus said as he pivoted on his feet.
"Thank you for calling me beautiful and even blessed, Your Highness," Alora said, controlling her tears which were on the verge of falling.
Magnus turned slightly and amusedly glanced at her. "I hate tears. Follow me," he said and went ahead.
After Magnus dropped Alora to her chamber, he returned. Gabriel was awaiting him and as soon as he spotted the Vampire Prince, he rose to his feet to greet him.
"You are late, Gabriel," Magnus said as he finally took a seat in the plush sofa; his one leg over the other.
"I had come in the evening, but the prince wasn't here," Gabriel responded.
"So, what's the information you have gathered?" Magnus had his clasped hands on his lap.
"Your Highness, we followed the scent of the werewolf and found out it appeared from the North-Western region– a place given the werewolves to live," Gabriel answered.
"Send the message to the alpha of Dark Moon Pack. I need answers from him," Magnus ordered Tobias.
"Yes, Your Highness," Tobias accepted the command and left.
"Your Highness, I don't think the werewolf pack has something to do with this attack. I have heard that Miss Alora got the curse in her eyes from a witch. Perhaps someone knew she was outside her home and wanted to kill her. That's why a werewolf was sent in a way that the relationship between vampires and werewolves would hamper," Gabriel explained the conclusion he had made.
Magnus drew his brows close. "Why would someone wish to kill Alora?"
"Perhaps there's something more to those eyes. Tobias told me earlier that Miss Alora's family be here tomorrow. His Highness shall ask Miss Alora's mother how she got the curse?" Gabriel suggested him.
Gabriel was not only the border security head of Elmswood, but also a friend to Magnus. Indeed, Magnus loved to stay alone all these years, but suddenly he brought a human, which piqued everyone's interest in that.
And his doubts got cleared when Tobias told him how Magnus confessed in front of him and Odin that Alora fancied him.
"Your Highness, are you interested in a human?" Gabriel asked without fearing him.
Magnus arched his eyebrow at him. "You should leave, Gabriel," he said.
"Why can't His Highness say the truth instead of sending me away?" Gabriel playfully asked.
"Because I tend to keep secrets," Magnus answered.
Gabriel smiled a little. "I'll be happy to see the prince getting married," he stated and stood up. "I take my leave, Your Highness. Miss Alora must possess something special that attracted the Vampire Prince toward her," he remarked.
"Shut your mouth and leave," Magnus gestured to the door.
Gabriel bowed and walked away from the prince's sight.
Chapter 13: Ripping his heart
Alora opened her eyes as she had a weird dream. A dream, where she saw a graveyard. She rubbed her eyes, ignoring the dream and recalled her family was supposed to be present in Elmswood today.
Getting off her bed, Alora used the washroom first, freshened up, took a bath, and then changed into a dress, which already was placed in her bedroom.
Last night, Alora told Cecilia that she didn't have to be in her service. She felt happy that Cecilia was not around her, or else, Alora could not roam around her bedroom with her blindfold off.
As she looked at herself in the mirror, the memory from the last day reflected in her mind. How the Vampire Prince suddenly entered and helped her in hooking the dress from behind.
Alora shook her head and sat down to brush her hair. "I wonder how my family will react to seeing me. I just hope His Highness doesn't be harsh on them," she mumbled. As she placed the brush on the dressing table after brushing her hair, she heard a knock on the door.
"Miss Alora, the Prince requests your presence in his chamber," Cecilia announced from outside.
Alora's eyes lit up with excitement. "Have my family arrived?" she mumbled eagerly and a bright smile graced her lips.
Spotting a new blindfold on the dressing table, she swiftly approached, donned it, and made her way to the door. With a graceful motion, she opened it and greeted Cecilia with a cheery "Good morning."
"Good morning," Cecilia returned the greeting and held Alora's arm. They were soon in the chamber, where Magnus waited for her.
Cecilia ushered Alora to sit on the ornated plush sofa in front of Magnus and stepped back. She stood near Tobias when Magnus instructed them to keep their eyes away from Alora if they wanted to live for long.
"You may take off the blindfold," Magnus told Alora. She complied with him and removed it.
Placing it beside her, she peered at Magnus and greeted him. "Good morning, Your Highness," she said with a vibrant smile, adorning her lips.
"You look quite happy in the morning," Magnus said as he picked up the scroll from beside him.
"My family is here. That's why I am happy," Alora said.
"They aren't here," Magnus affirmed and threw the scroll at her. Alora was quick to catch it and frowned her brows. "Your father is a High Chancellor and I'm going to kill him for sending this to me," he proclaimed with a murderous gaze.
Alora glanced at him in a worry and requested him not to say that. She didn't know what her father did to anger Magnus. "I cannot read. I wasn't taught how to read," she said, wondering what's in the scroll.
"Norman Wilson went to the King last night and sent a message not to trouble humans, especially a man as esteemed as him," Magnus narrated to her the message that he received in the morning through Odin.
"I feel like ripping his heart off his body," Magnus gritted his teeth, sending shivers down Alora's entire body. Till now, she had only seen how good Magnus was. But suddenly, she saw his worst side too.
"I apologize on my father's behalf," Alora said, lowering her eyes and gulping in fear.
Magnus clenched his fists to see her face. Such an audacity of a human to ignore his command. But he was Magnus Lukeson. He knew how to make such petty humans beg forgiveness.
"I think I'm going to live in the capital from now onwards, in the palace," Magnus stated.
Tobias and Cecilia were shocked to hear him. For the past two hundred years, Magnus never once thought of returning to the palace, where his family lived.
"Did I hear right? Are we heading to the Palace of Velaris?" Tobias asked to confirm.
"Yes, you heard right," Magnus stated. "Alora, your father should not have awakened the angry me. When I asked your family to come here, then they should have," he muttered, his insides were burning with the rage.
Now, until he would see Norman on his knees, begging for his life, Magnus would not stay quiet.
"Prepare my return to the palace," Magnus ordered Tobias, who bowed and left with Cecilia.
Alora stood up from her place and got on her knees. Lowering her head, she pleaded with the Vampire Prince. "I beg for His Highness's mercy. Please don't do anything to him. It's my sister's marriage in a week." Tears welled up in her eyes as she feared that because of her, Venus's life might get destroyed.
"Why shall I care about that?" Magnus asked her.
"Because I am the cause of all this. Had I died that day, it would not have happened," Alora remarked. A tear drop fell on the back of her palm, which was on her knee.
Magnus's jaw tightened to hear that. "Perhaps our meet was destined," he muttered. "What Norman did was something a human shouldn't, especially when a vampire prince has sent a summon to him. Moreover, your family doesn't care if you live or die. So, you shall also not care whether they live or die," he pronounced with a stern tone.
"Your Highness, I cannot be an emotionless person. As I said earlier too I'm a human with emotions. I'll do anything for the Vampire Prince, but please don't touch my family. I cannot see them suffer," Alora requested while controlling her ears.
Like a gush of cold wind, Magnus appeared before her and pulled her up. He held Alora's chin and said, "Stop crying for your father. He doesn't even deserve your tears. You taunt me and call me emotionless, but I'm sane enough to know the right and wrong."
Alora swallowed the lump formed in her throat and sniffled. "I understand," she said. "Can Your Highness promise me not to harm my family? Please," she begged with her eyes this time.
Magnus chuckled and let go of her chin. "What will you give me if I promise you that?" he arched his eyebrow.
"I've nothing precious with me," Alora said as she lowered her gaze.
"Well, you are precious," Magnus said.
Alora met his gaze again, feeling better to hear that.
"Don't beg me to forgive others. It makes me madder," Magnus pronounced as his eyes shone red for a moment.
"It is my father, Your Highness. I cannot let him be punished. He must have acted out of frustration since my sister's marriage is near," Alora explained.
"That's why his mouth needs to be shut. The privilege I've given you is different. You can ask anything for yourself but not for the others," Magnus clarified to her and he placed his index finger above her lips. "I don't wish to hear another word from your mouth," he warned her.
Alora turned silent. She didn't wish to infuriate Magnus. She had no idea why her father had to anger Magnus like this. "Can I talk to Odin once, Your Highness?" she requested.
"Why?" Magnus knitted his brows.
"I wish to hear from him what exactly happened at my house. If His Highness allows," Alora politely said. She kept her gaze low, waiting patiently for Magnus's response.
"Odin is outside. You can talk to him later," Magnus replied and returned to his seat. He was frustrated, but taking out that anger on Alora was of no use.
"Go back to your chamber," Magnus said.
"It is difficult to walk with my blindfold on, Your Highness," Alora reminded him in a low voice.
"You make me work unnecessarily," Magnus sighed and held her hand. "Let's go," he said, and began walking while dragging Alora along with him. "Also, you'll learn how to read and write soon. It will help me in the future," he added.
Chapter 14: A sweet gentleman
Alora couldn't eat well since the moment she learned about the message from her father. It hurt her even more that her father didn't care for her. She truly wanted to feel a father's love, but it felt she would never get one at least in this life.
She was standing near the balustrade, looking at the vast expense of hills far from her.
"What have you been thinking?" Magnus asked as he stopped next to her.
Alora tilted her head to gaze at him as he forward a big round candy to her. "Kids like this, so I bought one for you," he said. She glanced at it and then at Magnus.
"Oh, I'm not a kid, Your Highness," Alora said as she extended her hand to take the candy from him. However, Magnus pulled his hand back.
"Then, I must throw it away," Magnus replied.
"No!" Alora was quick this time and took the candy from him. It was in jelly form, so was easy to chew and eat.
"Kids eat candies," Magnus remarked, causing Alora to stop momentarily. The amusing smile graced his lips. "You are going to live with me in Velaris," he revealed to her.
"What!?" Alora exclaimed and gazed at him. "I thought His Highness will send me home," she said.
"Didn't you choose me over your family?" Magnus inquired.
"Yes, I did but then, I thought I am supposed to live here," Alora replied and lowered her eyes. She ate the remaining candy and looked at the thin stick left behind.
"Where I will live, you will live," Magnus asserted.
"Will the palace allow a human to stay near the Vampire Prince?" She was doubtful about it. She knew the vampires did not have special liking toward the humans.
"I think if I'll abandon you, everyone will. How long do you think your mother will live? Humans have a definite period to live. Once she leaves the world, your own family is going to neglect you pretty badly. And I don't wish my cherished human to be neglected," Magnus affirmed.
Alora felt strange to hear those words, but it was true. Her mother would not be with her all the time. She could not be burden to anyone around her, especially her family, who were frustrated because of her.
"Do you wish to go out?" Magnus questioned her.
"Yes. I wish to see the garden if His Highness allows," Alora answered.
"Sure," Magnus agreed and left the balcony. Alora walked into the room as well. She didn't forget to pick her blindfold and donned it across her eyes.
Magnus didn't like she had to wear the blindfold all the time. Such a beautiful woman had to cover her eyes just because of her special power. Shouldn't it be the opposite? Everyone should keep their eyes down whenever they would cross her path.
Ignoring all that, he held her small hand in his. The warmth of her hand dissipated the moment his cold hand made a contact with hers. Alora looked up, unaware the way Magnus was gazing at her.
Shortly, they began the walk. "I hope Your Highness is no more angry," Alora said.
"My anger has an endless limit," Magnus affirmed. "It will dissipate the moment, I'll show Norman's worth to him," he added.
"Your Highness, but it was the King's order. Will the King not be angry at the Prince if he goes against his order and punishes my father?" Alora was worried thinking Magnus might get punished for taking laws in his hands.
"Are you worried for your father, who doesn't bother about you?" Magnus furrowed his brows together.
"Not at all, Your Highness. I am worried for you," Alora truthfully admitted.
Magnus smiled and saw the stairs in front of them. Without her knowledge, he lifted her in his arms, causing her heart to race.
"Your Highness, why did you carry me in yo-your arms?" Alora nervously asked.
"This isn't the first time I did that. You have somehow claimed the place in my arms," Magnus remarked.
"What?" Alora was stunned to hear him. She pursed her lips together and found them descending down the stairs. Her hands were tightly clung around his neck. Finally, they were at the bottom of the stairs and Alora requested him to put her down.
"Stay quiet," Magnus said sternly.
"But people could see us. Isn't it odd?" Alora gulped in nervousness.
"What's odd in this?" Magnus questioned her.
"Everything," Alora promptly replied. "I mean His Highness cannot carry me like this," she clarified to him.
"Except for me, no one can carry you like this," Magnus stated.
Alora curled her fingers to hear that response. Why Magnus was speaking suddenly in this way with her? Yesterday, he even asked her to kiss him. Although, it was a joke, but he should refrain from making such jokes.
Finally, they were in the garden and her feet landed on the floor. Magnus opened her blindfold standing behind her while she took it from him.
"The garden is magnificent!" Alora's eyes glistened in happiness. "It's maintained well," she added and looked at the flower beds, which were dug to plant new plants in them.
"Can I plant them?" Alora asked for permission as she saw the seeds bags that were placed on one side.
"If that's what makes you happy, then do it," Magnus replied.
Alora thanked him and went ahead.
'Why did she receive such a power?' Magnus thought. 'Why did a witch do this to her?' he wondered.
Alora lifted the water pot after she put the seeds into the soil and watered them. She tilted her head and gaze at Magnus. "Your Highness, you are such a sweet gentleman better than any human. I'm grateful to meet you," she asserted with a smile.
"A sweet gentleman? That's not I have ever thought of myself," Magnus murmured and looked at her hands. "You need to wash your hands," he stated.
"I will," Alora said and walked toward him when her foot tumbled due to the pebble. Magnus caught her securely, interlocking their gazes.
Chapter 15: Alora allures me
Alora gazed admiringly into Magnus's eyes. She was captivated and entranced by his red eyes, so she did not even dare to blink. She opted to stay ducked, maintaining an intimate position similar to that of couples during a dance, leaning against the back, engrossed in the moment with him.
"How long do you wish to stay like this?" Magnus asked, bringing her out of the trance.
Alora shook her head and promptly stood straight, taking a step away from him. "I apologize," she whispered.
Magnus tapped his finger once against her forehead. "You should say thank you for saving me, Your Highness," he said as he dropped his hand to his side.
Alora peered at him and repeated the same words. Magnus ended up smiling and went in the opposite direction of hers.
Alora chose to run after him and walked closely behind him. 'He is very tall,' she thought, lifting her head. "My brother is shorter than him," she murmured as she recalled seeing Elliot from behind only.
"Shorter than who?" Magnus interrupted her chain of thoughts.
"Huh?" Alora was surprised he heard a low voice too. "My brother, Your Highness," she replied.
"Why are you walking behind me?" Magnus questioned her and halted suddenly. He turned to face her when he saw Tobias coming in their direction. However, when Tobias realized Alora was without the blindfold, he stopped at his place and lowered his eyes.
"What is it, Tobias?" Magnus questioned.
"Your Highness, a message has come for Miss Alora," Tobias informed and looked at the scroll in his hand.
"Give it to me," Magnus commanded.
Tobias was hesitant to go ahead, but he couldn't either ignore the order. He went close to Magnus and handed him the scroll. "Who sent this?" he queried.
"Norman Wilson," Tobias replied.
"That bas–" Magnus stopped cursing as he saw Alora's eyes dart at him. "You may leave," he told Tobias and he quickly left their sight.
"Let's see what your dear father sent this time," Magnus taunted Alora and opened the scroll.
"I hope this message reaches you well. You should leave the Palace of Elmswood soon. It's not a place for humans. Go where you were supposed to live. Your mother is worried for you. If she gets sick during Venus's marriage, then it will be a problem. Once you go to the old residence, write to me using someone's help.
Your father,
Norman Wilson."
Magnus chuckled and was ready to tear it into pieces when Alora took it from her.
"Your father is worried for his second daughter, ignoring the fact that his first daughter is living with a vampire. Norman does need a good beating," Magnus stated.
"Will His Highness not say such things about my father?" Alora requested him with a tinge of anger.
"Are you getting angry at me?" Magnus questioned her.
"I don't dare to," Alora said as she furrowed her brows together.
"But you did," Magnus proclaimed. "Humans are strange. They love to feel pain even if their family hates them," he muttered.
Alora sharply glanced at him. "Why is Your Highness taunting me?" She lowered her eyes and fiddled with her fingers.
"I have some work. Go back when you get tired," Magnus stated. "And don't wear a blindfold. Let the others fear you and enjoy that feeling," he suggested to her. Magnus left her sight in a blink of an eye.
Alora sighed as she looked at the scroll. "Father will be angry to see me in the capital. But I'll be staying with Prince Magnus. I don't think my family will have a problem then," Alora murmured as she was still unsure what more had written in her fate.
~~~~
"Your Highness, are you sure about returning to the capital?" Tobias asked. "Just because of a human the Prince has suddenly decided to leave Elmswood. It never happened." At the same time, Tobias was astonished.
"It's because of another matter, not Alora," Magnus replied.
"His Highness cannot lie to me," Tobias said with a smile as he was done checking the documents, which needed to be taken to Velaris.
"Tobias, shall I make you look into Alora's eyes?" Magnus questioned him.
"Forgive me, Your Highness," Tobias immediately apologized and lowered his eyes. The smile across his lips had disappeared too. He resumed the work, while Magnus engrossed himself in an important work.
What Magnus needed, he couldn't find it in the old book in his hand. Closing it, he furrowed his brows as he contemplated.
"What do you think a human possesses such eyes?" Magnus asked Tobias suddenly, who was stacking the pages together.
Tobias stopped his work and gazed at Magnus. "I have heard that it was a witch's curse."
"Why would a witch do that? To wipe out the vampires or the werewolves or the humans?" Magnus's questions made Tobias think hard.
"I wish I had known the answer, Your Highness," Tobias humbly said. "The Prince should not be bothered about a human," he then added.
"I am curious about Alora's eyes," Magnus answered.
"It's strange that His Highness can directly gaze into Miss Alora's eyes. No one could stand her eyes," Tobias remarked.
"Is it a good thing or a bad thing?" Magnus inquired.
"I have no idea, Your Highness. The Prince despised humans, then why is he keeping Miss Alora close to him?" he pressed the question while squinting his eyes.
"Alora is an exception. She is the only human whom I cannot hate. Others are evil," Magnus replied with a small grin.
"His Highness said the other day that Miss Alora fancies him. Does he like Miss Alora by any chance?" Tobias amusedly asked.
"I do like her. Alora is different and special," Magnus stated with a smile, gracing his lips.
Tobias smiled. "His Highness never showed interest in any woman before," he stated.
"Alora allures me toward her. Her charming blue eyes, her innocent talks, and her beautiful face are the few things I cannot ignore, Tobias,"
