Ch. 331..335: The Werewolf's Vampire Mate Chapter 331-335
Chapter 331: The voices in my head
Levine
There was an accident.
They didn’t make it.
Those words have been stuck in my head all week. All through the burial, through everything. It feels like I have stopped breathing. I still haven’t shed a tear. I don’t know how to cry when this is all partially my fault. I am the reason why they are dead. I had a chance to report Lissy and I did nothing like the coward I am.
I was too scared to betray her trust that I ended up killing my parents. Analise hasn’t said a word to me. I didn’t see regret when we found out. There was a hint of shock but she didn’t look like she regretted her decision. I haven’t gone to her because I don’t even know what to say. How do we even talk about this? We messed with time and there will be repercussions. Even though our parents’ death seems like the repercussion. I feel like there is a lot more that I can’t even imagine. I didn’t want to be involved in this. I wish I could go back in time and undo this all.
I am in my room. Seated in the same position I have been in all day. I slip into dazes and it takes a lot to get me out of them. Right now, I am secluded from the outside world. It has been a week and it feels like the longest week of my life. I remain quiet, in hopes that the person on the other side of the door will leave but the knocks just get even louder.
"Levi, it is me.’’ I recognize the voice. It is Badger. I haven’t had a one on one conversation with Badger. I don’t know if he remembers what I told him. I don’t know where I stand with him. I wish he would just forget everything that happened between us. I don’t want to be with him anymore. I don’t want to have to deal with him and the power that he desperately wants.
"Levi, I know you are inside,’’ he sighs loudly "I will keep knocking until you answer me,’’ he adds. I get up from the floor and walk over to the door. I don’t want to have to deal with this but it seems like I don’t have a choice. Almost like if I don’t answer, he will find a way to enter my room. I don’t know what Badge is capable of. He has never really been my friend. Just someone I really admired and now that I know him, I wish I never agreed to anything with him.
I open the door, revealing Badger and he carries a sad expression on his face. I see the concern in his eyes. I know he is worried about me and I wish I could forget everything and believe that he really cares about me. If we actually went back in time that will mean that he wouldn’t remember the conversation we had about Lissy. That will mean that he doesn’t know anything and I am once again alone. I don’t have anyone to lean on.
"Are you okay?’’ he walks into the room and wraps his hands around me. I am numb to feeling, being in his arms is not as warm as it used to be. I don’t feel anything for him but regret. He wouldn’t understand why I have all these feelings.
I stay in his arms—unwilling for a while and when he pulls away from me. I close my eyes because I don’t want to show weakness in front of him. Crying right now will be a bad idea. He can’t see me in pain. I will not give him that satisfaction. I take a step away from him "I want to be alone right now,’’ I tell him calmly. He cannot know that there is anything wrong. With everything that has happened, I can never stay here. My plan to leave the coven cannot come soon enough.
"Uh. I need to make sure you are okay first,’’ he manages in confusion. The last time we were together before my parents went for the ceremony, I was all over him. Now, all I want is for him to leave me the fuck alone.
I want to be alone.
Is that so hard to understand?
"I am fine,’’ at this point. I can’t help myself anymore as the tears start to fall. When people ask you how you are, and then you tell them that you are fine. You are not supposed to cry. Why the fuck am I crying?
"Come here,’’ he pulls me closer to him and I don’t even know what is happening as I lean forward and smash my lips to his. At this moment, I want everything to go back to normal. I want to forget that my sister is a psycho. I want to forget that she killed my mother and father. I want to forget that Badger is not the right person for me. Our lips press together and I feel everything. I feel his hand as it wraps around my waist. I feel the heat in between his legs. Giving in to him means I won’t be numb for the rest of the night.
I pull him until we are both naked on the bed. He grinds into me as our lips dance together in a rhythm that has my heart thudding uncontrollably.
What do you desire?
I stiffen against him but he doesn’t stop kissing me. The sound in my head continues. Suddenly, it feels like there is a darkness looming over me. There is something wrong "Stop,’’ I try to pull away from him. He pulls away from my face and furrows his brows in confusion "What’s wrong?’’ he asks me confused.
I nudge out of him until I am in a corner on the bed. I don’t want to explain anything to him. I shouldn’t be doing this with him.
I don’t feel anything for him anymore.
What do you desire? Speak and it will be yours.
That voice screams at me again. I know it is in my head. I know it has something to do with the spell. The one Lissy used but why is it here with me. Why am I being affected by all this? I just want to break free and no matter how much I try, she just keeps pulling me in.
"I need you to leave,’’ I beg him, silently praying that he listens to me.
"I want to be here for you. Please don’t push me away.’’ He begs me and I believe him. There is this honesty in his eyes. He actually does care about me. I just don’t know what else he cares about and I don’t want to find out.
I grab his shirt from the bed and pass it over to him "Please just leave,’’ I tell him coldly. He sighs and then runs his hands through his hair.
"I will come back tomorrow,’’ he suggests. I shake my head.
"Don’t come back,’’ I tell him. This is my way of breaking up with him. I hope he sees the sincerity inside me. I hope he doesn’t think that this is just because I am grieving. I don’t want to have any ties to the coven.
I watch him as he walks out of my room and I don’t have any regrets.
Analise is the next person I need to cut off by any means possible.
What do you desire?
Those words travel around my ears.
"I want to be free of my sister. I wish to be free from her." I say those words out loud even though deep down, I know that I shouldn’t give in to the temptation. This might be a mistake but I am exhausted and emotionally drained. My heart has been shattered in just the span of a day.
I am all alone.
Chapter 332: Surviving Analise
Levine
Days go by.
Months pass and nothing happens. Analise bounces back like she wasn’t the reason why they were dead in the first place. I haven’t spoken to her about that day. In the forbidden room. I don’t have the strength to even talk about It. Lissy acts like I don’t know. She continues her training. The elders talk about her taking over from our parents. She is the best bet and I guess that is exactly what she wanted. That was her plan all along. It is suddenly all clear to me. the spell of desire. What did she desire the most?
She didn’t care about getting rid of the pregnancy. The spell saw her heart and that was what she chose to do, by going back in time.
She wanted them gone so that she could have all the power that she had desperately craved. With mother gone, she is the next in line. Which will give her exactly what she wanted. I have been thinking of ways to muster up the courage to talk to her. we used to be so close but now, she wouldn’t even talk to me. she is so focused on getting her training complete—or maybe she is just avoiding me. I mean, she knows that I know what she did. I should be a threat to her but she doesn’t seem to think that I am.
All I have been doing is count the days until I have to leave. the voice in my head is still strong, as the days pass by, it gets louder. I don’t know what I am supposed to do but I feel like a walking corpse. Like it would have been better if I just died with my parents. I don’t see any point in being here anymore. in the blink of an eye, my family disappeared from me.
I am outside in the garden at the back of our house, seated by the oak tree. I have been spending a lot of my time anywhere but inside the house. Analise is three months pregnant again. today is the day when we went back. the day it all happened. It has been three months since my parents died to this day. I guess that is why I have been extra emotional. Thinking about all the things I could have done differently.
"I knew you would be here,’’ I look up from the book in my grip and she smiles as she slowly walks over to me. my eyes shift to her belly and she rolls her eyes "You don’t have to worry about him. I don’t plan on killing him anymore,’’ she shrugs like it is not a big deal.
"Him?’’
She nods and then sits down next to me on the grass. I hate Analise for all the things she did but she will always be my sister. "I am sorry about everything,’’ she breathes out.
"You had months to apologize but you never did,’’ I remind her of how selfish she has been.
"I wasn’t ever going to. I didn’t see the point. I did what I had to do. You would have eventually understood.’’
I can never understand her. I choose to never understand her side of anything. she chose to kill her parents and she wants me to understand?
"You don’t have to understand," she says almost like she read my mind.
"I am still leaving,’’ I tell her deadpan. There is nothing she will say that will convince me otherwise. I have to get out of here. I have to get as far away from her as possible.
"I know. I don’t have any problems with that. you should live your life for you.’’ she smiles warmly and for a second, I see the sincerity in her eyes. I don’t want to aggravate her. I don’t want to avenge my parents’ death. I just want to survive Analise. And surviving her means that I have to go as far away from her and everything that has to do with this coven.
I have to leave.
SIX MONTHS LATER.
"It’s a boy,’’ the midwife that helped with the delivery comes out of the room and smiles warmly. She was in labor for six hours. Six hours of screams and cries. I push my way into the room and I see the tiny baby in her grip. I walk over to her and she smiles even though she looks like a mess.
"Oh wow.,’’ I manage in astonishment. I still can’t believe she went through with it. I thought along with the pregnancy, she would think of something, another ploy to get rid of him but she went through with it. she had him and he is beautiful.
"Do you want to hold him?’’ she asks me calmly.
I shake my head immediately because I don’t want to bond with him. I dont want any ties to this place. my plan to leave is still in motion. "Come on, I know you want to,’’ she pushes him to me without my consent and I take him in my arms. He is tiny, his eyes are a bright blue and I have never seen anything as captivating as they are at this moment.
"His father is a wolf,’’ she tells me calmly, almost like it is not a big deal. I didn’t even know about that. "His Lycan scent is very strong. How do I keep it from the elders?’’ she asks me. I don’t know why she is seeking guidance from me. I hate her. I hate her more than I have ever hated anyone.
"Why do you want to hide it?’’
"I don’t want anything that will keep me from being chief. It seems like he might eventually become a problem.’’
She just fucking gave birth and she is calling her child a problem "He is your baby. How can you say that?’’
Sometimes, I want to understand what is going on in her head. What she thinks about, how selfish she could be.
"You know what is important to me. this child, I only had him because of you. I didn’t want your judgment. I see the way you look at me every day. I see how much you hate me."
"If you cant take care of him. tell his father. He might want him. don’t just think of ways to eliminate him completely."
"I am not going to kill him. he is my son but no one can find out about his Lycan side. I can’t have people knowing that I fucked a wolf.’’
"Who are these people. Fuck Lissy, you always find new ways to shock me.’’ I exclaim in disbelief at this conversation.
"Take him, since you are so righteous. He might just end up dead when you leave.’’
My heart stops in that second. That threat. The more I look at her, the more terrifying this conversation becomes. She will end up killing him. if I leave, she will end up finding a way to eliminate him.
"Stay with me, help me raise him and I wouldn’t hurt him,’’ she adds, watching me for a reaction. I have my plans. I have to leave. that want always the plan.
She is manipulating me again.
I look at the baby in my arms again and he opens his eyes, the blue in them sparkles. He is not a normal baby and if I leave him in her hands, he will just end up getting hurt.
"Okay, I will stay until he is old enough to leave you.’’ I agree because there is nothing else, I can do. I have no other choice.
Her smile widens "I knew you would make the right decision. I knew I would get you to do the right thing.’’
At this moment, it seems like this was her plan all along. Almost like she knew having this child would make me stay. "You can name him... what do you want to call him?’’
I look at his eyes again.
"Blue.’’
I will protect you kid.
Chapter 333: Departure
Levine
The present
"I trusted you and you deceived me. you did this all for your selfish reasons, you never wanted Blue to know about his mother. All you cared about was eliminating her and now you want to do the same to her son,’’ I shout so loud. My heart is pounding, it feels like it is about to explode. I have tried to live a just life but at the end of it all, I trust the wrong people.
I trusted my sister once upon a time and she betrayed me by killing our parents. I always knew that Badger was a selfish motherfucker but in my time of desperation, I trusted him again and it was the biggest mistake of my life. I created the association to do things the right way. Everyone in the coven knew how she was. They all knew the kind of person my sister was and they all wanted her out. This was not some spontaneous move. I have been planning this all for a year and Badger found out about it. he threatened to out me. I didn’t have a choice but to join forces with him. no one was worse than Analise. I always thought she was a monster and maybe a tiny part of me was glad that she was dead. I mean, all the things she has done in all these years.
Maybe that is why I decided to join Badger, I decided to trust him because of Major. Somehow, over the years, he became important to me. At first, he was just a kid in Blue’s class but eventually, I started to feel things for him. I didn’t want the people of this coven. I thought I was doing the right thing but in the end, I trusted someone that might even be worse than Analise.
"This is for the greater good,’’ he pauses and then gives me a wicked smile "one that you will not be a part of anymore,’’ his wicked smile makes me even more terrified of this situation. I take a step away from him because I know that if he wanted to kill me, he could with the snap of his fingers. The forbidden room had become one that Badger was accustomed to. Analise got very lazy after she became the chief. I mean, she had everything she always wanted. She had the perfect family—even though Blue would never think that and then she had the power. No one could challenge her, not like she even cared. She has had a lot of death threats and I have always been there to protect her. Even through it all, I ended up saving her. now she is dead because of my help.
My legs move on their own. he is still smiling; he knows that I can never outrun him. he probably just likes the chase. This is nothing to him and I hope that rex sees this. I hope he feels me right now so that he can know. I already know that I am not going to make it. betraying badger by reaching out to Blue means the end for me. I run out of the room and his footsteps are loud and clear in my head. I know that he is following me. I don’t know where to go. I don’t have any fight left in me. Using Rex was a way to reach out to Blue. that was the plan all along. I wanted him to know all the things that his mother had done. I brought him back to the coven because I wanted him to see who his mother really was. He would have been a better leader than she ever was. I saw the potential in him, I gave him all the love that his mother lacked and now he will see me as the monster that killed his mother and hurt his mate. he would never understand. He will never know that all I did was for him.
I run out of the house and I keep running until I get to the woods. This is the part of the estate that is just a vast land. I keep running even though I know that Badger will always be able to find me. I run because I don’t want to die yet. I don’t want to die until I save him. I don’t want him to fall into the same faith that his mother did. He is a better person and he deserves more. He deserves to know.
I keep running as fast as I can. I know the end of this trail I know the hill. I know it might not be a good idea to run into a dead end.
"You know you can’t run away from me,’’ his voice echoes through the trees. I know the sound is coming from my head. I know that because just as I am connected to rex right now, he is connected to me. I always knew that using dark magic will have repercussions. I was so against it. I let him use me to open the doors and now this is where we are. There is a cycle. One that I put Rex in. I didn’t mean to. I didn’t mean to hurt him but I guess this is all my fault. I stop running and grab onto a tree. My breath is heavy, my heart is racing, my fingers are shaking. I know what is happening and I don’t know what to do.
"I am sorry, I am so sorry,’’ I send a message to him. I know that he can hear me. I know that he can feel me "do not use the book, whatever you do, don’t use the book,’’ I warn them. I know what would happen if they give in to the easy way. Dark magic never ends well. I mean, I am an example.
Analise is another example.
"You must think that I am a fool,’’ I freeze because I know that he is behind me. I knew that running was pointless. He would always find me.
"I hate you, Badger,’’ I stand upright and turn around. I am just a few feet away from the cliff. I know what I need to do. Once I am dead, all ties to Rex will be cut off. he will be free from Badger. I need to do one last thing for them. I need to make up for all the hurt I have caused them. I take slow steps until I am just at the edge. Badger doesn’t even flinch, there is still a smile on his face. he never loved me. all those years, my crush on him. the butterflies I had for this man, all for fucking nothing.
"I am sorry it had to come to this,’’ he says as he walks over to me. the veins on his neck are darker. They have spread. The darkness is eating him up and he doesn’t even know it. I can see his end and he might think it will be victorious but I know that it will be terrible. I know that he will not win.
Blue is stronger than he thinks. He will defeat him. Do the things that I failed at. His heart is pure. There is no anger inside it. he will do this the pure way and succeed. I am so sure of that. I look to the edge of the cliff, I see the rocks, I could never survive this jump but for the first time in my life, I am looking forward to this. I am ready to die. There is nothing else I can do here. I am too weak and as Badger said—too much of a coward.
’’You are the bravest person I have ever met,’’ Major pulls me into his arms and for the first time, I feel loved. The kind of genuine love I have never felt for anyone. His eyes bore into mine and my heart beats for him.
"I love you, Levine, I will always love you. so, you don’t have to worry about anything anymore," he assures me. I believe him one hundred percent. I believe in this love because he doesn’t want anything. he loves me just because and that is all I have ever wanted. I wanted to leave the coven to find my happiness and in such a short amount of time, he has shown me that love shouldn’t come with expectations, it shouldn’t be forced.
A boy so young, so innocent chose me for who I am.
As I take backward steps off the cliff, my last thoughts are of the man that I am leaving behind. The innocence that he once had will be gone the moment he finds out I am dead.
"I am sorry major,’’ I breathe out those words as I let go of all the pain, all the sacrifices I have had to make. I let go of it all and for the first time, I feel free.
I am finally able to leave the coven.
Chapter 334: Bravery and freedom
Gyles
I get out of Rex’s head just as I see Levine run out of the basement and out of the house. I see the big oak tree. The one we passed when we first drove into the estate. I recognize it immediately and that shows me exactly where they are. Just a couple of houses from Blue’s house. Blue is watching me as I let go of rex and he comes back to us.
He opens his eyes immediately. He is sweating profusely. His eyes are wide and he is still trembling. I know he saw what I saw. He knows everything that is happening. He will know where they are too.
"Something is happening with Levine. He is going to hurt her,’’ He blurts out exactly what I am thinking and if we don’t get there on time, we might end up not being able to save her. I still don’t know what transpired between them and maybe I don’t want to know. I know that she had something to do with killing blue’s mother and that is something that can’t be forgiven.
"Do you know where they are?’’ Blue asks, his eyes wavering from me to Rex. He senses a lot more than he wants to say.
"Yes, come on,’’ I stand up from the bed and we all walk out of the room together. Blue is by my side.
"Tell me what you saw.’’
His voice is strained. I sense the frustration in his tone. I don’t blame him either. I mean this is all a lot for anyone to handle.
"she is running, I feel her and she seems to be giving up,’’ he cries. He is fighting for her right now and I don’t understand it. Levine might not have been the mastermind behind all this but she was part of it. she helped him in whatever he planned. She took part in the deceit and the hurt, so that makes her an accomplice. I don’t want to be self-centered because I do understand, I know why people end up doing things that they shouldn’t. I know the desperation that could have made her take that path. I understand it all.
"Lead the way,’’ Blue tells him immediately. I don’t know his relationship with his aunt but from the way he is reacting right now, he seems genuinely worried about her. I mean, I understand that he wouldn’t want to lose another member of his family. We walk out of the house and Rex leads us down the street. The estate is very quiet. in a place like this, I would expect people on the street. Kids playing in their front porches but it is almost like darkness surrounds the whole place. this place is different from the community. It doesn’t feel like there is life.
We both follow Rex, there is no plan of what we are going to do when we find them. I saw Badger, I know what we are up against.
He will not just let us off easily. This might even be his plan. He might want to get Blue in a corner. He killed his mother, what is stopping him from killing him too?
Rex stops walking and we both do the same, our eyes never leaving him "No,’’ he cries out, the pain evident in his voice.
I don’t know what is happening but he must be seeing her.
"No, not yet. You can’t do this,’’ he shouts into the air. I don’t know what he is seeing, but something is wrong.
"Don’t,’’ he adds shaking on his feet. I want to touch him; I want to take his pain from him but I also want him to handle this on his own. he is strong enough and I believe in him.
Tears fall out of his eyes; I want to be the one to wipe them off but he does it on his own as he opens his eyes. He turns to the other direction "She is going to die, she is letting go,’’ he informs us. He is talking about Levine. I understand why he is so concerned. He is connected to her, when I went into his mind, I felt this pull. It was so strong, It almost pulled me in too.
"I know where they are. It is not too late,’’ he tells us and starts to run. We follow him until he leads us to a part of the estate that is just a vast land and trees. At this point, we are at the end of civilization. This is the perfect place for an ambush and Rex is running straight into this. what if this is a trap? I am all out of losses. I can’t handle anymore.
"Wait,’’ I grab his hand immediately and face Blue "This might be a trap, what if this is what they want?’’ I ask him. Blue is the most rational one out of us. He will think wisely before we make a crazy move.
"We have to find out,’’ he answers calmly. I know he wants to get to the bottom of this "we have to help her,’’ he adds. He is talking about Levine. Like I said earlier, I don’t know his relationship with his aunt but I see the longing in his eyes. He is worried.
"We need to go before it is too late, we need to get to her before she jumps." Rex gets us out of the conversation. I close my eyes and for that second, I make the decision to do this with them. if anything happens, I will just have to protect them, I will have to find the strength that I know I have deep down and save my babies.
Whatever it takes.
Rex is in front of us and it seems like he is following a path, my wolf instincts kick in, the scents around us stronger. Looking to the ground, I see the footsteps, I see the path that they must have crossed. We keep running and the faster we go, the closer I feel we get.
Rex stops walking and I see the light, it is bright, so bright that I have to squint my eyes to get a clearer view, it is coming from him. He raises his head up in the air and his eyes open wide. Suddenly, a dark smoke comes out of him, one that I can’t even explain, and he is lifted up in the air.
I try to reach for him but Blue grabs me immediately "Wait, don’t go close,’’ he tells me, his eyes never wavering from our mate. my heart races in panic, I don’t know what is happening but I can already tell that it is something significant.
The dark smoke disappears into the air and I see him descend to the ground, this time, blue is quick to wrap him in his arms as he rests on him unconsciously.
A cool breeze travels around us and shakes all the leaves on the trees around us. I walk over to them and I feel it.
He is free.
Chapter 335: At peace
Gyles.
"Stay with him, I will go back,’’ Blue tells me calmly. He is not panicking right now that Rex is unconscious and I am not either. I felt him earlier, with the light and the dark smoke. I know what it means. I just don’t know how it is possible and how it was so easy.
The only explanation for the bond between him and Levine to have been severed is by death alone. Does that mean she is dead? I don’t care if she dies. I don’t even know her. The only people I care about are Blue and Rex.
"What are you going to do?’’ I ask him. He wants to look for Levine and I don’t think he should go back alone. I want to help but I know he wouldn’t want me to leave Rex right now. After everything that has happened, I have to keep an eye on him. We must protect him at all cost.
"I need to find her. You know what happened in the woods?’’
I nod. He doesn’t need to explain it. I am sure he knows that she is dead to. This is a good thing. Her dying means Rex is free. We don’t have to go through any channel to get him out of this mess. We walk away from the bed where Rex is passed out. His breathing is steady—which makes me worry less. I know he is just exhausted and very soon, he will wake up.
"I don’t think she made it. Badger didn’t give her a chance." He reaches for my hand and I let him pull me into his arms. I don’t know how he feels about all this but he seems even more affected by this than his own mother.
"Where you close?’’ I ask him quietly.
Blue has been very closed off about his past. It is almost like he dreads that time and I wish he would open up to us. Maybe this could be a start. The beginning of trusting me.
"She was more of a mother to me than my own mother,’’ he runs his hands through his hair. I watch him, wanting to see if he will express his emotions in tears but he is trying to be strong. It will all sink in once Badger is caught and this is all over. Right now, he needs to focus on the end game and that is getting that monster in check.
"Going alone isn’t a good idea,’’ I tell him because that is my only fear. I don’t want anything to happen to him while he is trying to be brave.
"I called Major. I am not going alone.’’
It feels like a weight is being lifted off my chest with his words. I don’t trust Major—even if he helped us. I don’t trust anyone in this eerie town. This place is full of selfish people. From everything I see, I can never stay here. I just hope Blue doesn’t have any plans to stay in this place. I don’t want to have to be in the middle of him leaving.
"Okay, promise me nothing will happen to you,’’ I have this fear. One that eats at me every single day of my life. The fear that the people I love will all eventually end up dying or leaving me. All my life, I have been dealt with that plight and now that I am finally happy—or should I say at peace, some invisible force will just end up crumbling my peace.
"I am not going anywhere. You are stuck with me,’’ he smiles and it tugs at my heartstrings.
"Promise,’’ I repeat. I want him to make a promise so that it will be at the back of his mind with whatever decision he makes. I want him to think about the two people he will be leaving behind. I want to always be at the back of his mind, in everything he does.
"I promise G, I will not leave you. Not in this world and the next." He moves closer to me and rests his forehead on mine. Intimate moments with them are always short. I want us to be together, unbothered about anything but being in each other’s arms.
"You have to believe that we happened for a reason. No one is going to take me away from you,’’ he breathes out heavily. I feel his heart beating against my chest, the sound channelling into mine. I love him so much and that is why I live in this constant fear of losing him.
"I love you Blue,’’ I confess. I love him and I always want him to know. I want him to always remember that we will always be together. He presses his lips to mine. The kiss is short. I know this is not the time for this. I know we have more important things to worry about "I will be back. I promise and then we can get out of here,’’ he smiles and it does something to my heart.
He lets go of me and takes a step away from me "You know, once this is all over, I will not let you guys out of my sight for a whole month,’’ he winks and I watch him walk down the hall until he is out of sight. I walk back into the room and Rex is still sleeping, his chest rising and falling. I sit on the only chair in the room and my phone rings just as I pick it up. It is Alanis. I haven’t heard from him in a couple of days.
I answer immediately.
"How are you guys?’’ he asks before I even say anything.
I close my eyes because this is the first calm moment I have had since everything started. I know Blue is going back there alone but I also know that he made me a promise and I am going to keep that promise in my heart until he returns.
