Ch. 541..545: The Werewolf's Vampire Mate Chapter 541-545
Chapter 541: I want it all
Gyles
I look up at the sky and the stars are shining brightly. The moon is full and it has lightened the sky. There is not a cloud in the sky, the only thing that is in the sky is the stars. They are all beautiful, every single one.
we are still outside but the night is already upon us. It feels like time has stopped. I don’t want this moment to end. I wish we could stay in the community and forget about all our worries.
Somehow, this date has made me forget all the things that I know that I will have to face tomorrow.
Being with Blue and Rex makes me happy. All the problems I think we have all seem so irrelevant right now.
They don’t matter anymore.
They are meaningless to me. This is all that I want right now. I look at Rex and he is staring at me. "You’re so beautiful,’’ he whispers quietly against the silent night. He reaches for me and brushes his fingers against my face. His touch sends goosebumps down my body. I close my eyes at the touch. I don’t want to think about anything else. I want this moment to last. I am in the middle of Blue and Rex and I am loving this sandwich. Being the center of attention. This is exactly where I want to be. Their arms are wrapped around me and all I feel is warmth in this cool cool night.
We lie down in each other’s silence for a couple of minutes and it is peaceful. This is the first time we have been in this kind of silence and it feels amazing. like there is no worry in the world.
Blue is the first to sit up and I follow suit as his eyes shift to the picnic basket "I’m hungry,’’ I tell him immediately.
He smiles widely "I brought food but we were kind of distracted earlier,’’ he chuckles heartily.
He opens the basket and I watch him as he brings out sandwiches in a container "I didn’t know what to bring, you want some?’’ he pushes it to me and I collect it as he starts to bring out more food from the basket.
"Everyone in the community is probably asleep,’’ Rex mutters quietly.
I reach for my clothes and put them on, passing their clothes to them. It is normal to be naked in the community. I have basically seen everyone naked, so this is not really a big deal.
We start to eat the food and everything is delicious. We share a bottle of wine, while we talk. Just about random stuff. Blue doesn’t seem as nervous as he did when he brought me here.
I know he wanted this to be like a real date but we ended up having sex. As usual. It might seem like a bad thing to others but the fact that I always want to be intimate with them is not to me. I find every opportunity to have that bond with them.
I don’t think that will ever die.
"We leave tomorrow,’’ Blue speaks up finally after we are done eating. I still have a glass of wine in my grip as I nod. We haven’t had a conversation. I don’t even know what the plan is.
"I am going to go first. I will go to the estate without you guys, just to see how things are there. I don’t want the three of us to go to this blindly. I need to make sure it is safe first."
I furrow my brows "I don’t know if that is a good idea,’’ I tell him.
He nods "I know, just a couple of hours. We need to have a plan. I need to get a book from the library. If I can channel my magic. I should be able to locate her. If she is really dead, it should lead me to her grave, if she is not, then I should be able to find her."
"What happens when you find her?’’ Rex asks quietly.
He shrugs "I want to feel her presence, I want to be sure. I know where the room is. I should be able to find it in the house.’’
That is the priority. The room where all those people were kept. If we find the room, we can solve this.
"The elders know I left. I just need to convince them that I am back. That is the only way we can roam that place freely. Once I do, I will bring you guys’ in. I don’t want this to be an attack immediately. I want us to use our heads and not our fists."
I know he is right but I hate that we have to let him go into that place on his own. I don’t want anything to happen to him and if I am not with him, I can’t control it. I just have to trust him.
"Okay, we can do this your way.’’
He smiles "Everything is going to be okay." he assures me and I believe him. I know that I don’t have to worry about anything. I know that we will be okay. Once this is all over, we will come out of it stronger, and then we will be able to focus on each other.
focus on the things that matter.
The night ends and we got back to the house. Once in the room, I pack the remaining of my clothes. Once my bag is packed, I have a shower and get to bed.
Rec is already in bed when I lie down and he holds me tightly. "I love you," he whispers just as Blue joins us.
This night has been perfect and suddenly I don’t want to wake up anymore. I want to stay with them. I want a normal life and I am going to pursue that.
I am going to have it all.
Chapter 542: Fear
Blue
"We don’t need anyone to come with us. I think this is something we need to do on our own,’’ I tell Beau because I don’t want to drag anyone else into this mess. I know that Beau is just trying to be a leader to the pack but I don’t want to give in to his demands.
"I think it would be a good idea to get some help. You don’t have to always shoulder everything on your own,’’ he breathes into the phone. His voice is comforting and I completely believe him right now but I am also firm on what I want and I don’t want anyone else dragged into this.
"I am not alone; I have Rex and Gyles. We will be fine. I promise you that.’’
He has to believe me; I have the most to lose if anything happens to them. They are my lifeline and I have to protect them. I will make sure of that.
"You know, you are very stubborn.’’ he points out. I don’t feel threatened by this. I know that.
"You are also stubborn but you have always made the right decisions. Let me do that for my mates. This thing with my mother involves Gyles. He needs to do this to stop the haunting, that is the only reason why we are even going to that god-forsaken place in the first place."
"I know that but it could be dangerous.’’
"I know that but this is where I lived, I know the people and the place more than anyone in the community. We are dealing with magic and ghosts. This is not something werewolves are used to.’’
"I don’t want to argue with you. I am gouging to take your word for it and believe you when you say you will protect them. Rex and Gyles hold a big part of my heart and I will not forgive you if anything happens to them."
Now that feels like a threat.
I don’t blame him.
I will never forgive myself if anything happens to them.
**************************
The drive to the coven feels like an eternity. I have always had this dread inside me. Every time I would leave, coming back always haunted me. That same feeling is happening again.
The closer I get to town, the more anxious I feel.
We have a plan but I don’t even know if I can call it that. It is a half-baked plan. One that I am not even sure of. For the first time in my life, I am using purely faith to do this.
I don’t know the kind of welcome I will get when I go back but I want to be optimistic. Badger--who I now know if my mother is in control of the coven. Just the thought that she died and is still in control, scares the hell out of me.
I don’t know the kind of hate she has for me. Knowing that she wanted to kill me, as a child, knowing that she could still do that scares me.
I can’t even use the fact that she is my mother as leverage. If she as much as knows why I am back, I will be in big trouble.
"You are in your head again,’’ Gyles breathes out as I grip the steering wheel tightly. The book of evil is around his hands, he is holding unto it as if his life depends on it.
"I can’t help it,’’ I confess.
The closer we get to the location; I can feel the seriousness of the place. Maybe it is psychological but the sky is darker than it was a couple of hours ago. I feel a chill that I didn’t even know was there.
All I have for the place that was once my home is fear.
"We got this,’’ I turn to him slowly and he winks at me. Rex is at the back seat and I feel him lean forward and reach for my shoulder. His touch is a comfort that I always know I need.
It makes me feel safe.
"We are almost at the hotel,’’ I tell them as I see the sign of the street. The hotel is just about a five-minute drive from the estate. So, they are close enough but also out of reach. "Major will come over before I head to the estate, is that good?"
"I think so,’’ Rex says. He is always more concerned about my safety. He is the most responsible one out of the three of us. He is the one that helps us stay grounded. I don’t know what we would do without him.
I don’t even want to think about that.
We get to the hotel and it is bright. The hotel isn’t very big but its style is welcoming. I can see the sign and it feels homey. Like I wouldn’t have to worry about them while they are here. We get down from the car and I look up to the sky. The sun is still out but I can feel the darkness that is slowly creeping up. "I’ll get the bags, you guys go on in,’’ I tell them.
There is hesitation in Gyles’s eyes but he nods and I watch them walk in. I grab my phone from my pocket and dial Major’s number immediately.
"Hello,’’ he answers calmly.
"Where are you?’’ I ask him because I need to talk to him before I leave and I need to leave before night comes.
I don’t want to drag this until tomorrow. The sooner I get into the house, the faster I can sort this out.
"I don’t think I can come; they are still out to get me. I don’t know if it is a good idea to be roaming about.’’
I sigh as I run my hands through my hair.
"Fuck Major, we had a deal.’’
"I am sorry Blue; they want me dead. There’s a bounty on my head, The kind of magic I have used to cover my tracks is exhausting. I don’t want to risk it."
"Are you going to hide forever?’’
He sighs loudly "Do I have a fucking choice?’’
"I’ll come to you, tell me where you are?’’
"I don’t know if that is a good idea.’’
I take a deep breath; I have to find a way to convince him. He doesn’t trust me and I don’t blame him but I need him. I need him because he is a good warlock. He is better at this than me.
I don’t want to mess things up.
Fuck.
Chapter 543: Two Alphas
Blue
"You can’t just decide that you aren’t going to let me see you, we had a deal.’’ I bicker into the phone because this is my desperation speaking.
I am desperate for all this to end and I just need his help.
I wait for him to respond but all I hear is silence on the other side of the phone. I can’t find him even though I want to. I know he has magic protecting him and I need him to want to help. me.
after a couple of silent seconds, he takes a deep breath into the phone and I hear his voice "I will send you an address, come alone.’’ He ends the call and my phone beeps a second after.
I see the message and a smile creeps up to my face. Major has been dealt the worst; he has the most to lose if we don’t get rid of Analise. So, I don’t even understand why he isn’t eager to help me.
I walk into the hotel and Gyles and Rex are by the reception. The lights are bright inside, there is a huge chandelier in the center of the reception. I didn’t want to leave them at a motel even though Gyles said he didn’t mind. I wanted to make sure they were comfortable. That is why I chose this place, even though it is pricy.
Gyles looks at me with his eyes wide with worry and he’s edgy. I know he noticed that I took a while with the bags. I needed to make the call first, not like I am keeping it from them.
"You were out there for a while,’’ he points out.
I nod as I drop the bags. The reception by the desk looks up and I watch her as she brings out two key cards. "Your room is ready,’’ she mutters as a man in a uniform walks over to us. I watch him as he collects the bags and places them on the baggage carrier. He is tall and very lanky with brown hair and brown eyes. He smiles at us as we follow him to the elevator.
"Well?’’ Gyles asks me.
I completely forgot that he was asking me something "Major, he was supposed to meet up with us but he refused last minute.’’
He nods "So what’s going o happen now?’’
"He gave me an address; I am just going to meet up with him before I got to the coven."
He furrows his brows "Alone?’’
I nod "He said I should come alone."
"What if it is a trap?’’
I actually thought about it but I don’t think that it is and if it is, I will figure it out. "I know it could be.’’
"So, I don’t think you should go alone, I can come with you.’’
I don’t think it is a bad idea to bring him with me but it is not something that Major would be happy about. He specifically asked me to come alone but I also wouldn’t mind bringing Gyles.
If he thinks this could be a trap then I wouldn’t want to have any regrets. I said I was going to do better; I was going to listen to him more.
I need to show him that I am going to give him a chance. I am going to reduce the way I try to control him.
The elevator opens up and we all walk out of the third floor. We follow the porter until we get to the room number. He uses the key card to open the door for us and we all walk in.
"You are quiet again. I am not going to let you go alone. You have to take me with you.’’
"What about me?’’ Rex pipes up. His eyes are wide and cute as he stares at me. I am in the middle of the two of them.
I can only take one person.
"I can’t take the two of you. That makes no sense.’’
Gyles scoffs "You have to."
"One person. I can only take one person. You decide it between yourselves.’’ I turn to the man and he smiles.
"Enjoy your stay,’’ I walk over to him at the same time pulling out my wallet. I give him a twenty-dollar bill and he leaves the room.
I turn back to the two of them "Have you decided, we need to go before it gets dark.’’
Gyles bites his lips. He is scowling at me right now. I am trying here, meeting them in the middle.
"You’re not being fair Blue, we can’t decide that,’’ Rex cries.
I sigh "Do you want to go or do you want to stay?" He sighs and then lets out a breath "Fine, Gyles can go but you guys better get back to me in one piece."
He crosses his arms over his chest with a frown. I walk over to him lean closer "Have I told you how much I love you?’’ I manage.
"Me too,’’ Gyles chirps with a smile. I can see it in his eyes, he is happy that he is the one going.
Just the way he says I like control; I know that he likes it too. He doesn’t want to be in the shadows, he wants to be where the action is. He wants to be the protector. He wants to be the hero and that. is not a bad thing. That is an Alpha trait. I haven’t been seeing him as an Alpha and I need to change my views. I need to give him the respect that he deserves.
We are in a throuple, this relationship isn’t just between an Alpha and omega. We have two Alphas. I need to start treating him for who he is.
"Not today," Rex bats his lashes and I grin at how cute he is.
Rex on the other hand wants to be pampered. Taking care of and luckily, he has two people to do that.
"I love you,’’ I whisper quietly as he looks up at me.
There is a satisfied look on his face.
Chapter 544: Major
Blue
The drive is short, not like I was expecting. Blue stops the car as the navigator of the map says he has reached his destination. I look out the window and the building looks deserted.
I raise a brow because the closer we get to Major, the more I think this is a setup. I don’t trust any of the people from Blue’s coven and that is why I was insistent on coming. I don’t have any issues with him going anywhere alone but I don’t want to have to go through losing him or having to look for him.
I know he is going to the coven alone and things could happen to him there but I also know that if anything happens, I know where to look for him.
Letting him go to Major alone is a risk that I don’t want to take. I need to know where he is so that I can protect him with all I have.
"Is this where he is living?’’ I ask.
The sky is dark, it is already night time and he still has to go back to the coven tonight.
"It seems so,’’ he runs his hands through his hair as he answers me. I see the hesitation in his eyes.
This place looks abandoned.
I mean, it is pretty obvious that no one is living here. Why would he bring him to an abandoned building? "We should go inside, see if he is inside."
"Can you sense anything?’’ I ask him.
He shakes his head "You wouldn’t be able to sense him. He has covered his tracks with magic. He would never make it that easy."
"And you want to walk in blindly?" I ask him in disbelief.
He turns to me "We have no choice, I guess we kill him if he tries anything funny."
He is teasing but I don’t think this is the time for jokes. I don’t want to kill anyone but Analise.
"I can help you check, see if he is really inside,’’ I turn to the sound of Eleanor’s voice. She is in the back seat. I don’t even know when she got here. I guess she just shows up whenever she wants to.
"What are you doing here?’’
Blue looks at me, even though I am focused on her.
"Who?’’ he asks.
"The ghost."
’I have a name,’’ she rolls her eyes as I turn back to her. "Yes," I answer him. "You mean, the ghost you talking to?" Blue asks me.
"What are you doing here?" I ask her. "Which part of ’I have a name’ is confusing to you?’’ she asks. "Why are you here?" I ask her again.
She smiles and it is warm. I never thought I would be interacting with ghosts. She seems like someone to be afraid of but she doesn’t even look the least bit intimidating.
"I’m here because I want to be here. I am trying to help you.’’
"Well, we are here because of you, so I don’t mind the help. Is it possible to go in before us, find out if he is here?’’
"I can do that, ’’ she says but in a split second, she disappears.
"What just happened?’’ Blue asks.
I smile "I don’t even know what I believe anymore,’’ I pause because just thinking about all this is crazy. I know I have I shouldn’t even be saying that because I am not even human but at the end of it all, I can fully say that I have seen ghosts.
I look at the door of the entrance and I see her as she appears, she turns to me and smiles widely. I watch her as she disappears again.
"Are we really waiting for her go ahead?’’ Blue asks me.
I nod because we don’t even have any other option. I don’t want to walk into this place blindly. If she can tell us if it is safe then I don’t see the problem with that.
"This is insane,’’ he mutters in disbelief.
"Yes, I know, this is the craziest thing ever and I have seen crazy."
He laughs.
In a second, Eleanor appears and she is in the back seat again "There is a tunnel entrance, there are a couple of people there,’’ she tells me. "What do you think?’’ I ask her. "It is safe, ’’ she says with confidence. "Okay, we will go in.’’ I turn to Blue and he nods his head, slowly, we get down from the car and walk to the door that she just came out of. The door opens and we walk down the stairs. We walk down the hallway and I hear a voice, a male voice that I can’t make out. I see the light at the end of a door, it is dimly lit. We walk over to the door and down the stairs. I hear a soft sound of footsteps. We are in a kind of a train station, a huge and labyrinthine kind of a station. It has something that looks like tracks but I can’t figure out what it is. We head over to the tracks and I can hear the footsteps, even more, they are getting closer and closer. We reach the first platform, and I can hear the footsteps even more. We cross over the tracks and I think I can make out the shape of a person in the fog.
"That’s Major,’’ Blue chips in quietly as we get closer.
I don’t trust Major; I don’t trust him at all but it seems like Blue does and that is all that matters to me.
We get closer to him and the frown on his face is evident.
"I said you should come alone,’’ he sneers at us. "Major, ’’ Blue smiles at him. "Why did you bring him?’’ he asks because it is obvious, he doesn’t want me here.
"He wouldn’t let me come alone."
I roll my eyes and Blue shrugs.
"Whatever you want from me, I can’t help you with it. I am not going back to that place. I am not getting involved in this mess.’’
His expression is cold and I don’t blame him. We came to the coven and messed his whole life up.
"You can’t choose to stay isolated forever."
He raises a brow "Who said I am alone?’’
Chapter 545: The magic is inside you
Gyles
I don’t trust Major.
I don’t even know why we need him in the first place. I know what we need to do. We need to go to the coven, we need to find the room, we need to use the book to set them free.
I just don’t know how we are going to do this.
I don’t know if Blue is going to be allowed to even enter the coven. He didn’t leave the place on good terms.
"I am completely fine with the way things are Blue, I don’t want to go back to that mess. The mess that we left at the coven."
It sounds like he has made up his mind. If he is so sure of what he wants, why the fuck are we even here. Why are we trying to convince him to come and help us? I don’t even like the fact that we keep involving innocent people in this. Major is in this mess because of us. I can’t lie and deceive myself that it would have been inevitable.
The coven completely collided when Blue came back. Everything went to shit when we got involved--yeah, I know it was all his mother’s plan. Bringing Blue back, using Rex as a scapegoat. It all happened and I know that it was all planned. I won’t say this is Blue’s fault, I won’t say it is my fault or Rex but it all happened because of us.
I don’t think we should drag Major into this.
If he is actually doing okay like he says he is, then why do we have to drag him into this.
"Are you actually okay with the way things are?’’ Blue asks him. Right now, he is pushing him. I know what this is. He can never be happy hiding. This is not the life anyone would want and I get that but at the same time, there is a freedom that comes from not having to answer to anyone.
"It is better than going back to the coven, I don’t want that life anymore.’
"What about your parents, your sister. Do you want them to worry about you, do you want my mother to continue hurting the people in the coven? We have to put a stop to it.’’
He is manipulating him.
This is not the way I want him to be on our side. He needs to want to help us on his own.
"My mother, my father, no one is going to hurt them as long as they stay quiet and don’t go looking for trouble.’’
"So, you want them to live in fear?’’
Major sighs loudly, the look of frustration evident on his face. "Blue, what exactly do you want from me?’’ he asks finally.
I watch them silently, waiting for him to answer. I don’t even know what he is going to say.
"I don’t know how I am going to do this; you are the only one I can ask for help,’’ he mutters quietly. We are in this dark tunnel, having this conversation. It looks to me like Major just wants us to leave.
I want to leave too.
"If your mother is alive like you say, then she is fucking dangerous. She might hesitate when it comes to you but she wouldn’t hesitate to kill me. I don’t know if this is something I should involve myself in."
He nods in understanding ’I can’t fight her alone, I am not strong enough,’’ he confesses. I always knew that he felt this way. Blue is not confident in his magic and I believe in him more than he would ever know.
he doesn’t need Major; he doesn’t need anyone. The magic is inside of him. He just needs to let go and bring it out of him.
He needs to believe in himself more.
See what I see in him.
"You don’t need me; I am of no help to you right now.’’
He says tersely. His mind is made up. He probably let Blue come here so that he could tell him.
"Then why am I even here?’’
"Come on, I want to show you something.’’
He turns away from us and I watch him as he fades into the darkness. Blue turns to me and manages a faint smile as we follow Major into the darkness. I don’t know where he is leading us but the further, we walk, the brighter it becomes.
Major is leading us into a map. There are several walls that have wooden doors that are locked by a key. Major pulls on a strand of wood and it opens to reveal a long dark hallway. "Home sweet home," he chuckles as he turns to look at us again. He opens a door and the air actually feels like home. This is even better than the coven. I look at the walls. On one wall, there is a mural that looks like mountains. It must have been painted by someone with indigenous magic. The artwork is dark but it looks beautiful. I didn’t even know that there was a place beneath the abandoned train station. this is all surreal and suddenly I understand why he wouldn’t want to go back to the coven.
A door opens and someone walks out of the room. A woman, who looks to be in her twenties. She looks up and opens her eyes wide. Almost in shock from seeing us.
Recognition flashes in Blue’s eyes.
He knows her.
"Hello Blue," she says as she walks closer to us. "So, you want to go back to the coven?’’ she asks him.
He takes a deep breath as I watch him "Hello Wenona, it has been ages,’’ he manages. I see the discomfort from the way he is standing "I have no choice.’’
She nods "Everyone has a choice. You can choose to leave that life behind like we did or go back to it.’’
She makes it sound so simple but I know that he is going back because of me. He doesn’t have to go back but he is doing it and it doesn’t look like these people are going to help him.
"How many of you are here?’’ he asks.
She smiles "More than you think. We don’t belong in the coven anymore. The sooner you realize that, the better it is for you."
Her words are harsh but I know that she is right.
Blue is better off in the community with me and Rex.
That is the way it is going to be after all this is fixed.
