Ch. 591..595: The Werewolf's Vampire Mate Chapter 591-595
Chapter 591: She will stay dead
Blue
My hands are numb, Gyles is trying to keep a brave face but I know that this is affecting him gravely. I want to help get him out of here. I don’t know what to do. As usual, Analise’s magic is just too strong. Rex is the only one that can get us out of this bind and I don’t even know how he is supposed to be able to do that.
This is a spell.
She used something to tie us to our feet. I can’t move. The only thing I am capable of doing right now is breathing. The pain in my limbs is excruciating. It feels like I have been standing for hours and I just want this to end.
"Hey, look at me,’’ I call Gyles out and he raises his head up slowly.
His face is red. There are dark circles around his eyes. it looks to me like he is giving up but I don’t want him to, even though I can’t blame him. There is a different kind of pain all over my body. I don’t know what she did to us but it is unlike any I have ever felt and he doesn’t seem to be handling it well.
"It hurts,’’ he cries as I watch him grimace.
The pain is internal but not the kind that would kill you. She wanted us to suffer. I know what her plan is. She doesn’t want to kill me but she wants to hurt the people that I love that is why I am also worried about Rex. I left him and Darrien in the shed and even though I am sure that Darrien will be able to protect him. I don’t know if he is strong enough against my mother.
"Look at me,’’ I repeat as his eyes start to close again.
The sharp pain hits me again just as the words leave my lips. His eyes open again as he takes a shaky breath. My hands are limp beside me. If this was any other situation. I would reach out to him. I will hold him through this pain but I can’t and I hate that more than anything.
"I can’t keep my eyes open,’’ he manages, his voice trembling.
"I know. I am sorry that you are going through this but I need you to stay strong. I will get us out of this,’’ I tell him but there is disbelief in his expression.
"How, how do you plan on doing that. This all feels like a losing battle. I am exhausted.’’
"I know. I will figure this out."
"You can’t. Stop saying that. All these promises that you can’t keep. There is no point.’’ He shouts at me. I don’t blame him, he is upset but he is not wrong. I have promised too much and maybe I can’t keep those promises but it’s not like I am not trying because all I have been doing is try.
Rex where are you?
I send Rex a mind link. I am so glad that with all that she has done, we are still able to communicate with him.
I think we figured it out. This will all be over soon.
His reply is supposed to be encouraging but I don’t know what he is talking about. I don’t know what he means when he says that.
Are you coming to us?
I ask him.
It could be a trap. You said she was planning a meeting with all the members of the coven tomorrow?
He asks me.
Yes.
I wait for his response and my eyes never leave Gyles. His eyes are closed now and he doesn’t seem to be interested in the group mind link we are having. I guess this is affecting him a lot more than it is me. I am just trying to stay strong. I am just trying to believe that we will get out of here in one piece. The life that I am living right now is very precious to me. It is one that I am not ready to give up on.
I know that he feels the same way, even though he is acting defeated right now.
Let us know where it is and we will be there. Don’t worry about anything. Darrien and I have a plan and this time, it is going to work. I just need you guys to stay strong until then.
Gyles opens his eyes suddenly and I see a flash of hope in them. I don’t know what their plan is but from the sound of it, it seems like they have something figured out that we are not aware of.
One thing you should know before I leave you guys.
Rex adds.
I wait in the silence of the potion room. Unsure of what he is about to say. There is a hope inside me. One that is louder than the beating of my heart. We are both paying attention now. I can see the curiosity in Gyles’s face.
He is just as eager as I am and I am here for it.
If we kill her this time, she is going to remain dead.
Once those words travel around inside me. I don’t know how to respond to what he just told us but I believe him. I completely trust and believe his words.
Just wait the night and we will figure out the next step in the morning.
The night seems like it is almost over. The sky is a brighter dark. Almost like an announcement that dawn is upon us. I take a deep breath as I feel Rex pull out of the link. I don’t know where he is or how he has done what he just informed us of but I believe him one hundred percent.
"Do you think he means it?’’ Gyles asks me meekly.
I nod because I do "He does. Something feels different and in a good way."
The light that we have been desperately searching for.
Chapter 592: Get it done
Rex
"Call him," Darrien pushes me.
I shake my head because I don’t know if it is such a good idea like he is making it out to be. Blue already tried with Major. Why should he actually listen to me now?
"You said there are a group of people that know Analise for who she is. These same people found a way to leave. They are the only ones that can convince the rest of the people in this place."
To him, this makes sense but I don’t know how I feel about involving people that have already left all this behind. Major doesn’t want to have anything to do with the coven—according to Blue. He tried to get him to come with him, to join him in this fight and it didn’t work. I didn’t go with that night but I know everything that happened.
"You have Blue’s phone. Why don’t you call him first and explain things to him." Darrien pushes me. His tone is authoritative and I get that he has taken the reins of this whole thing but he can’t just order me around again.
"Call him,’’ he adds ignoring my statement completely,.
I know Darrien’s world revolves around him and I have to listen to him because he is the only one that has been able to successfully help us. This just means that he actually knows what he is doing and I need to listen to him to get out of this mess.
"Okay." I sigh out in frustration.
We are back to the shed. I don’t know if Analise already knows what we did. Now, all we have to do is actually succeed in killing her. Once the host she is occupying is dead, then she will die finally. I can’t wait for the moment where she takes her last breath. I can’t wait for all this to be over.
"He might not answer the call."
He nods "Then send him a message to explain things. No one is actually happier on the run. At some point, he would want to settle down and not be afraid for his life,’’ he shrugs "How can he not be on our side?’’
"Okay," I reach for Blues phone and it unlocks as I enter the passcode. I search the phone log for Major’s contact. Blue doesn’t have a lot of contacts on his phone. Just like his father, he was slowly becoming a lone wolf. I don’t know what would have happened to him if he didn’t meet us. I know how it feels to want to be on your own. I have thought about it a couple of times in my life and now that I have all the people that I have in my life, I don’t ever want to have that kind of thought again.
I dial Majors number and it goes straight to voicemail.
I knew he wasn’t going to answer the call. It is about three am. It is one thing calling so early in the morning but I am sure that Major seeing Blue’s call will be a red flag. He doesn’t want to have anything to do with anyone that has anything to do with the coven.
"Send him a message now.’’
I sigh out of frustration. "You are being very bossy right now."
He laughs "You need bossy, or you wouldn’t get anything done. You lot have been here for days now and you haven’t gotten shit done."
He is being mean but he is not wrong. All through this ordeal, all we have been doing is talking. Talking about all the things that we want to do but we actually never get anything done and then we ramble on and feel sorry for ourselves. I don’t respond to him because I don’t have anything to say.
All I know is that he is right and I need to make more of an effort.
I send Major a quick text.
Hey Major. Can you call me back? This is an emergency.
Darrien comes over to me and I watch him as he peers into the phone. The sky is getting brighter as the sun starts to come out, to show a new day.
"Good, don’t explain anything so he doesn’t freak.’’
Darrien sits down on the floor next to me and I notice that there are bloodstains on his shoes. His eyes follow mine and he shrugs. I haven’t even thought about what we did in that mausoleum. I don’t even want to remember what she made me do. That is the first life I have ever taken with my bare hands and it felt so good. I don’t have any remorse and if I had to do it all again, I would.
"Do you think it is a good idea not to look for them?" I ask him because I can feel the amount of pain my mates are in and I am wondering if not looking for them was the right thing to do.
"We know where they are. We have been to the room." he raises a brow "Remember?’’ he reminds me.
I nod.
"She is still alive, even though we already killed her main host."
"She doesn’t know that we are here. She thinks I have already gone. She wouldn’t be expecting us to come and help them."
"That’s just speculation. It could all be a trap that she could have set for us. Do you want to walk right into it?"
I exhale out a long breath because yet again. He is right.
"Just stick to the plan and we will end this shit in the morning. He said she is having a gathering. It will probably be outside. So we will go to that gathering and then we will kill her."
He says it like it is so easy.
I don’t know how it is going to end but I am going to believe in Darrien.
I feel Blue’s phone vibrate and in a second it is pressed to my ear.
"Blue,’’ Major calls out and I manage a smile.
Okay.
Let’s get him on board.
Chapter 593: Strength in your weaknesses
Rex
"Who is this?" Major bellows angrily.
"Rex. You helped me the other time. I am Blue’s mate." I push for fear that he will hang up the call. I need to get him on board so I have to say the right things.
"Why are you calling me? What happened to Blue?’’ he asks immediately.
I take a deep breath because I can feel Darrien’s eyes on me. He is watching me and I am sure that he thinks that I will mess this up too. The same way we have messed everything up.
"I need your help."
I hear silence on the other side of the line and for a second, I think that he has hung up. I pull the phone out of my ear and see that the call is still connected.
"Are you there?’’
"I already told Blue that I couldn’t help him. Where is he? Why are you the one calling me with his phone?’’
He sounds worried.
Why is he so worried?
I know Blue is like a friend to him but they are not really that close. So, I don’t even understand this reaction.
"There is hope for everyone in the coven. We have a way to defeat Analise.’’ I tell him instantly. That is the punch line. Analise is the threat of this place. the reason why they all ran away from this place. If they know that there is hope.
"I don’t want to be involved in it. I can’t risk my life anymore."
"I know that but you still have people in this place, people that you love. They are all in danger. I need a lot of people on our side. The more people that I can gather, the easier it will be to defeat her.’’
"What plan do you have? I need to know first.’’
I relay the plan to him over the phone with Darrien watching me intently. His eyes never leave me. I know he doesn’t fully trust me to do this on my own. I know what a big help he is and I don’t even trust myself to handle all this shit on my own. maybe that is why all those years, I have always stuck to Beau. I knew that as long as he was by my side, I would always be safe. Yes, I was mandated by his father to stay by his side because an Alpha was never to be alone but I benefited more from it than he did.
I stuck to him in school for fear of being bullied. I stuck to him in the community and hunts so that I wouldn’t have to suffer what all the other Omegas suffered.
Now, I am with Blue and Gyles. They are not as controlled as Beau. I get that they are hybrids. It is supposed to make them stronger but they didn’t have the same training that Beau did. They didn’t live in a pack as he did. That is why it is different. I leave them to make the decisions but at the end of the day, they are not as Beau is and when they make mistakes or make the wrong decisions, there is nothing that I can do.
"This doesn’t seem like a plan that is going to work.’’
Darrien grabs the phone from me before I can even respond to him "We just need you here once day breaks, is it something that you can do. I heard you have a couple of the witches from the coven with you. Bring everyone."
His voice is authoritative and a part of me is afraid that he will scare the guy off. I know Major doesn’t want any involvement in this.
I watch them as Darrien introduces himself.
I watch him as he communicates with him and then ends the call suddenly. He looks at me and a slow smile sprawl on his face. I can already tell that he succeeded. I don’t know if it is luck that is on his side or if he is just good at convincing people but I couldn’t have done that better than him. He rests his back on the wall "He is going to be there.’’ He answers as he closes his eyes softly.
"How do you do it?" I ask him which makes him open his eyes.
"Do what?"
"Tell people what you want and make them do it?’’
He shrugs "I didn’t make him do anything. I just found a way to convince him. You just have to learn to say the right things. You have to be confident enough for people to trust you. You are not any of those things.’’
He is not wrong but it still hurts. I should have been able to convince Major. I should have been able to make him come and join in on this fight.
I need to learn to be stronger. I need to learn to be better than I have always let myself be.
"Not everyone can be an Alpha but that doesn’t mean you have to belittle yourself to think that you are the omega that they make you people out to be. You have your own strengths and you need to find them. Don’t just stay in the shadows because you are scared."
His words are soothing. I’ve always known that I need to do better but I have never really given myself the confidence. Maybe it is time to do better but how to I do that.
"Are you guys going to leave once Blue helps you with the mask?’’ I ask him.
He nods "My baby doesn’t want to stay in the community. I only do what he wants.’’
"What do you want?’’
He shrugs "I want what’s best for us.’’
"I don’t think you guys should leave. The community is the best place for you and him. trust me on that.’’
He sighs "Jabi has an issue with the place. I just wish he could see that things are different. I wish he could come to love the pack now that he is different."
Every relationship has its turmoil. Even the put-together Darrien has his weakness and Jabi is his weakness
Chapter 594: This is war
Gyles.
I open my eyes and the sounds of birds chirping are all I can hear. Suddenly, we are no longer inside the potion room but the bright light from the sun hits me instantly. Blue’s eyes are closed. I don’t know if he is sleeping or if he has passed out.
The pain we have been feeling all night is still there but suddenly, it is not as strong as it was. My legs and hands are numb. I have been practically standing on my feet all night. Somehow, it seems like there was an invisible rope tying us to our feet. I don’t even know how to explain it.
"Blue,’’ I call his name.
I don’t even know where we are but we are outside. I think that is a good thing. Darrien and Rex can find us easily.
"Blue, wake up," I call his name louder.
Unlike last night, we are tied to something that looks like poles. She isn’t using magic to bind us now. That is a good thing.
I take a deep breath because Blue is not even responding. What the fuck is wrong with him. "Baby, answer me,’’ I call him again. I am desperate for him to wake up because I don’t want to do this alone. I don’t want to be alone in this.
You have no choice.
You have to get out of your funk and do this. Find a way to break free. You are strong, you have me.
My wolf is awake and ready for this fight. I can feel the anger boiling inside me. Wolves do not like being imprisoned. I have been kept away all my life. I didn’t have a life for a long time and for the first time since my wolf became free. I am in this mess. I know that he is angry. Hell I am angry too.
I don’t know why this is happening but at the end of everything. I am the one that brought all this on myself. I just wanted to help. I wanted to be good. Eleanor and the rest of the people in that book needed help and I wanted to do that for them.
Is that such a bad thing?
There is no time to dwell on what has already happened. I need you to give me full control of your body. I need you to let me out NOW.
My wolf wants an escape. I don’t think that is the best thing right now.
Rex.
I send Rex a mind link. My heart races as I wait for his response. Blue said Rex and Darrien have a plan. If I let my wolf act irrationally, then I might mess up that plan.
I have been trying to reach you guys. Are you okay?
He responds immediately.
My heart calms down as I hear his voice in my head. That relaxing feeling takes over. He might now be here with me but he is here and that is all that matters.
I am okay. Blue is not waking up. I don’t know what is wrong with him.
Where are you? What is happening?
I look around the field.
We are outside.
Give me something. Where outside?
His question is demanding and I understand that we don’t have time to waste. We are tied to poles in a field on what looks like a stage. There are chairs everywhere. This just makes me think that this is all a game to Analise. She is giving everyone a show to watch.
There is nothing here. It doesn’t seem like we are at the house anymore. She took us to an open field. There is a stage and chairs.
I can’t tell what time it is but the sun is blaring and the heat seems to be burning my skin. I take steady breaths in an attempt to control my breathing. Blue is still unconscious, he is not even moving. Last night, he seemed to be the one that had his shit together and now he isn’t even waking up. It makes me think that she did something to him.
I can’t even put it past her.
Okay, I will find you. We are coming, don’t worry about anything.
His words are assuring. We have completely put all our faith in Rex and I don’t have any doubt in my mind that he is actually going to get us out of this mess.
"Gyles,’’ I open my eyes to Eleanor in front of me. "I can get you out of this,’’ she manages slowly.
I don’t know where she has even all this while but I don’t have any faith in her helping me. Up until now, I still haven’t figured out how I am going to even help her. I am sure that once Analise dies, all the people she has hurt will finally be free.
"Can you wake him up?’’ I gesture with my face towards Blue. Her eyes shift to him and she walks over to the side of the stage where he is tied up. He is not far from me but I also can’t reach him if I wanted to.
I watch her as she raises her hand up to his face, slowly, she passes through him and then she does this for the rest of his body. In less than a minute, I watch him as he jolts up full of shock in his eyes. His eyes are wide, red and blotchy, just like the rest of his body.
Eleanor comes out of his body but all my focus remains on Blue as he looks around, squinting his eyes from the sun.
"Blue,’’ I call his name to wipe the confusion from his expression.
He focuses on me. I watch the rise and fall of his chest. "Get me out of this bind,’’ I tell Eleanor, unsure of how she is even going to do this. I want this to play out the way Rex has planned. He and Darrien have something up their sleeves and I don’t want to ruin it by escaping but I also want to be able to fight when the time comes.
This is war.
Chapter 595: No humanity left
Rex
"Where do we meet?" I breathe into the phone.
Having more people on our side is overwhelming. "There is a meeting in an hour, for all the members of the coven, my father just told me. I think that is where we should meet.’’ Major tells me.
I knew that was going to happen from what Blue told me. She wants to kill them in front of everybody. She wants to make it look like they are traitors. The same way she made Major look. Analise is brutal and there is no doubt in my mind that she has to die.
"Do you know where it is?’’ I ask him because from what Gyles told me, they are outside in a field. The only field I know is the one at the back of the house. I don’t know if it is the same one and I don’t want us to be caught walking outside.
"The town square, just by the other side of the estate. I think you should just follow the crowd. Come out of where you are hiding and follow whichever crowd you see. I will find a way to get into the estate." He pauses and I wait for him to continue "Good luck,’’ the call ends and my eyes find their way back to Darrien.
He is watching me attentively.
"Walking out in the open, she might be looking for us.’’
I nod. "He said we should wait till it starts. No one will be paying attention to us then. We just have to wait for another hour.’’
He runs his hands through his hair, the frustration evident in his eyes "This is such a drag honestly. I can’t wait for this to end."
"Me too,’’ I sigh in agreement.
I sit down on the floor next to him and we wait. This hour seems like hours, days, it seems to be forever. I know that this is the moment that we have been waiting for. I see Darrien as he consistently checks his watch.
The hour finally passes and he is quick to his feet. "Come on, let’s get this show on the road." the excitement in his voice is scary. Darrien seems like the kind of person that would have lived for danger. Maybe in his past life but now that he has Jabi, I see him as mellow. This must remind him of his past. Maybe there was a time where this would excite him—I don’t know for sure though.
He grabs the jacket that he brought with him and puts it on immediately. I don’t know how this will work but I can’t wait for this to be over. Once we get out of the shed, Blue’s phone in my pocket vibrates. I open it up and there is a message from Major.
Major: About to enter the estate. Meet you in a couple of minutes.
His message is reassuring as we get to the main road of the estate. Suddenly this place is so familiar to me and I have just been here for a couple of days. I can’t wait to leave this place and go back home. I look around and just like Major predicted. There is a crowd of people walking to the same direction. I pull up my hoody and we walk into the crowd.
No one even pays attention to us as we walk next to each other. We follow them until we get to a bigger crowd on the other side of the estate. This is a different field from the one we passed through to the cemetery. It seems to me like they are all looking at something but I can’t see what it is as I am at the back.
Darrien is taller than me, but I see him trying to get a clearer view.
"We need to find a way to get to the front. See what the hell they are all looking at,’’ he pushes through the crowd and I follow him slowly. I hate crowds, I have this fear of being trampled if things go south, which I am sure will happen today.
We finally get to a place in the crowd where the front is visible "What the fuck is this?’’ Darrien is first to exclaim, the shock clear in his voice.
I hold my breath for a second as I try to process what I am seeing. It is clear to me—I mean, this was the plan all along. She was always going to make a spectacle of them. I knew that but seeing this right now and being unable to get them out of this mess is getting to me.
Blue is the first one I see. Maybe it is because he looks way worse than Gyles. This is more than just a spectacle. His body is bruised up completely. He should have healed but I am sure there is a spell involved in this. There has to be. His eyes are barely open. I see the struggle to keep them open. He is tied to a metallic pole. The same goes for Gyles but unlike Blue, he is more alert. He seems to be in his right frame of mind, Blue looks so far gone.
I know she plans on killing them today.
She wants to kill them in front of everyone but we are not going to let her. I would give my all to get them out of this.
"Analise has no humanity left,’’ I turn abruptly to the voice and Major is next to me. Finding me is probably one of the easiest things he would have to do today. He has shades on and a face cap. I wouldn’t have recognized him if not for his scent.
"She is a monster,’’ I manage as a drop of tear falls out of my eye.
I don’t want to cry because I need to be strong. I need to stay strong for them because they need me more than they ever did.
I am here guys. I will get you out of this.
Immediately I send the mind link. They both look out to the crowd and our eyes meet instantly.
I will end this.
