Chapter 111
It wasn’t that George doubted Ciara or disliked her, it’s just that in most wealthy families they like keeping their wealth within b***d related members. When a child is born they are each given a share of the family’s fortune, hense why it is wise to be sure that the baby Ciara was carrying belonged to the Jones’.
When everything was cleared, Liam informed his family that he was not staying as they needed to attend to their businesses and after that he and his friends left. The holiday period had now passed so they all had a lot of catching up to do at their respective place of work. This was even worse for Finnick especially with the reported civil unrest, he needed to know what was really happening, and how the citizens where coping with everything, and also implement a possible solution. As the head all these decisions needed him to be physically present at the police department.
When he arrived at the station, in instructed the officer working the reception area to pass him all reports filed within the past 24 hour related to the on going unrest. He spend the entire afternoon going through those files.
He found that even though every police officer in his unit along from other units or station were deployed, they still couldn’t stop the looters from stealing and vandalizing properties because even though it was all police officers from all stations there was still a few of them as they were going against the whole city.
He called all his subordinates in to a meeting in order to get an idea of what was really going on. After listening to each and every one of them he then asked for any suggestions on the solution then gave an advice of his own.
” There’s only a few thousands of us against hundreds of thousands of them, so we will never win by denying them entry to the shops they want to vandalize as that can only compromise our safety. But there is one thing we can do, wait for them to start looting then we come in and arrest a few that we will manage to catch, make a video while they are lined up in handcuffs. By that we’re instilling fear in their mind, other police departments will then join us. Once enough fear is planted in one’s hear they will not even attempt on going to any shop to steal. Do that for now report to me at the end of your shifts. “
After dismissing everyone, he returned to his office where he monitored the situation through the national’s police Twitter, what was trending and the news broadcasting.
Not even an hour had passed, he started seeing videos of people lying down on their stomach with their hands cuffed be hide him on Twitter, a few minutes later more pictures and video were posted, now all these videos and pictures revealed the true identity of the thieves.
The number of shops that were being vandalized started going down. The news broadcaster also picked up on this and also resharing these video clips and pictures on live television.
No one wanted to be seen by the whole world while breaking the law. More and more people chose to stay in their homes.
As the day progressed news reports of increased number of arrests and people who were injured or unfortunately died in result of the unrest, was shown in almost all the news channels.
Just like that fear brought peace to the city yet again. The army and police officers were deployed in almost every city in the state to prevent and arrest anyone that might try their luck.
Back at the Jones’ residence Ciara had been treated like an egg through out her day, Maggie personally prepared fruit snacks for her, made sure she was comfortable at all time, when it felt a little chilly she would bring down a blanket specially for Ciara and it was the same with Alzlea’s treatment for her when she needed a drink Azlea would get a glass for her even when she got up to use the bathroom, everyone will first ask her where she was going anf if she needed anything. This went on the entire day and it became too much to a point where she too got frustrated at the situation, she knew that they were trying to help but she had perfectly working hand and feet not to mention that her body was healthy and fit to move about so she was fine to do everything for herself.
” You do know that I’m not as fragile as an egg, I can still do a lot of thing without tiring or straining myself.”
This went on till Liam came back to fetch Ciara back home and it was at that time when Liam walked in the room.
” And why don’t you like it when they caring for you dear? “
At that moment, she felt like burying herself. She did not mean to offend the Jones and was hoping that Liam would support and stand by her side but instead he was the one to put her on the spot. Since there was no going back from this she just decided to get herself out of the position she was in.
” It’s not that I dislike the treatment at all, it’s just that mom has grown and I don’t want to inconvenience her. I still have some energy and I enjoy moving around more.”
This way she thought she was able to tell them how she felt without offending anyone hopefully now they will let her do things on her own. What came next proved that it was all but only her wishful thinking.
” Well sorry to break your heart sweetheart, but my wife is not going to get anything less than royalty treatment.”
Hearing that Ciara wanted to grit her teeth in anger, give Liam a peace of her mind, but right now there was people with and all she could do was smile while swallowing her anger that was brewing inside. It was only then that Ciara learnt of the reason why everyone treated her like she was going to break and all the evidence pointed to Liam.
Chapter 112
She wanted to hop on him right there and then just to give him a beating of his life, sadly she couldn’t do that while everyone is watching.
Liam spoke with his parents for a while then informed them that they wouldn’t be joining them for supper,
” It’s been a long journey for Ciara so she will need to rest at home for a while.”
In actual fact, he just needed some time alone with his wife but first he wanted to take her out somewhere nice.
The Jones family did not protest or give them a hard time when they heard that, they understood what Liam wanted and besides they were able to spend the entire day with Ciara and they didn’t see the need to hold her back.
So right after they said their goodbyes, Liam led Ciara straight to the car, he got in to the driver’s seat and stretched himself to open the passenger side door for Ciara to enter.
” I want to sit at the back.”
” Not gonna happened sweetheart, you are my wife so you should be sitting next to me at all times. Don’t treat me like I’m your chauffeur now.”
Liam responded with a devilish smile on his face, leaving Ciara speechless as she sat herself down on the passenger seat in the front. Liam then helped her with her seat belt.
Once settled, he started the car and drove straight out of the gate passing the whole neighborhood. At this time no one was found roaming the streets and there were only a few cars on the road, most probably because people were still not sure if the unrest issue had really been solved, they were scared of the possibility of being caught in the cross fire should the unrest erupt while they were out at night.
They passed all those burnt mall buildings and shops and drove all the way to their favorite restaurant which was located inside a 5 star hotel. Liam had already made a booking for a private room, so when they arrived, the hostess at the door welcomed them courteously and led them to their private dinning room.
As they followed the hostess, there was a woman who just came out of the restroom who saw them and was currently looking at the three with hatred in her eyes, she looked so scary that if she was given a chance she would probably rip them apart right there and then.
She didn’t bother hiding herself as she stood rooted on her spot as her eyes followed Ciara and the others to the room they headed in.
Ciara who was about to enter the private room felt uneasiness wash over her, she felt like someone was watching her so she turned her head to find a devil like eyed woman looking at her. As scary as it may be, she chose not to panic and turned her head and walked in.
They both took a seat and waited for the waitress to come in and take their order. While waiting, Ciara told her husband what she had saw.
” You know I just saw Boity, she looked really scary. You should’ve seen the way she was looking at me, it was like, if she was given an opportunity she’d probably kill me instantly without even thinking about it.”
Liam balled his hands in to fists and gritted his teeth in anger, he hated people who tried to intimidate his family, he was about to say something when someone opened the door, they both turned their heads to see who was about to walk in to their room.
” Mr and Mrs Jones, it’s really an honor to have you here. My name is Tod the new manager of this restaurant. These are your welcome drinks, please do enjoy they are on the house.”
After introducing himself the waitress who was with him then placed a double shot of whiskey in front of Liam and a virgin cocktail in front of Ciara.
Tod then also placed the menu on the table for them to go through it.
” Don’t you worry ma’am that’s a virgin cocktail, basically a combination of juices and very safe for you to consume. Please do have a look at the menu and the lady here will take your order.”
Seeing that he had done his part, he excused himself right after Liam thanked him for the drinks and service.
After taking their order the waitress also left and closed the door behind her.
” Are you scared? “
Ciara had even forgotten what they were talking about before they were interrupt by the manager and his subordinate, so Liam’s question confused her, she wondered what was there to be scared about. They were only having a meal at one of the nicest restaurants in the city, so why would she be scared.
” huh?”
” Boity and her being here, doe it scare you?”
When he realized her confusion, he reminded her the topic they were on before the interruption.
” Oh! Well right now No I’m not, I mean you are here with me and will protect us right so why would I be?… I’m just afraid that her scheming is way above my innocent, but don’t worry I’ll stay far way from her.”
Liam was actually happy to hear that after so much time apart Ciara still put all her trust in him and still relied on him. She appreciated his comfort and security which was why he was sure to keep her and their baby safe at all costs.
” she knows better than to mess with you, maybe that’s why she could only stare at you from a distance. Just because I was linient with her punishment the last time at the filming site doesn’t mean that it will be the same now. Don’t worry though, if she does try something I’ll definitely make her pay ten times whatever damage she caused. “
Soon their food was pushed in the room by two ladies in the restaurant’s uniform one was the same waitress who took their order and the second lady was helping her out. Once everyone heard that the city’s richest man was in the restaurant all the waitresses wanted to help out but they all gave up when they heard that he was there with his wife except for this one lady who was daring and bold enough to seduce a man while his wife was present. she was making a show as they placed the food on the table making sure to bend in a certain way that showed all her curves and her fake but. Two of her top shirt buttons were open showing her cleavage, she then bend over toward Liam as asked with a huge seductive smile.
” Is there anything I can do for you sir?”
” Slap!!!”
By the time she finished talking a wide palm had already landed on her cheek.
The woman held her burning hot cheek and looked at Ciara in shock then at Liam to help her out as she had just been attacked by his wife. But all he got was a smiling Liam as he responded to her previous question.
” No thank you, that would be all for now. You may leave.”
The poor woman left the room crying while holding on to her still burning cheek.
Now that it was peaceful again, they started digging in to their meal and changed the topic to something less stressful as Boity, something that brought both of them joy.
” How has my little princess been today, has she been behaving? “
He asked while stretching his arms to brush Ciara’s tummy..
Chapter 113
Ciara smacked that hand away as it was about to touch her belly.
” Hey baby is still angry at you, shoot I’m angry at you. You made us prisoners at your mercy . Who does that? Remember we are still angry at you.”
Liam pulled back his hand awkwardly, and reached out to take some meat fo himself and ate.
” It’s only for your sake. I’m doing it for you and baby. Now be good and listen. “
He then spoke after some time of chewing. He thought the more Ciara relaxed the better it will be for both her and the child at the end of her pregnancy, yes she was still going to take walks and go to the mall at times with her friends but for now she needs to relax and not stress the baby out. He was even conflicted when it came to touching her in the bedroom, scared that he might hurt the baby. So until he gets a doctor’s opinion they will not be doing it.
Seeing that she was never going to win this fight with Mr smarty pants, she thought she should just let it slide. She will definitely do what she wants when he is not around to see.
They continued to enjoy their meal in peace, once they were done with their meal they took their purses and walked out to pay since no one brought the bill to their room. As soon as they opened the door, they heard a commotion outside. The lady from before was shouting at everyone blaming them for losing her job. Apparently when she left Ciara and Liam’s private room she went straight to the manager’s office to report the assault but instead of the manager taking her side and taking action against the person who had assaulted her, he fired her.
” But Tod why fire me, I was only doing my job.”
Tod the manager ran his eyes throughout the lady’s body and said.
” Tell me the reason why she slapped you and I might consider rehiring you.”
” I.. She…. She’s mad, that woman needs help I was just doing my job and out of the blue she just slapped me and her husband didn’t say anything about it. As your employee I need you to sue them, they need to pay. “
With just how she was stuttering, they manager could tell that she was lying and also still making up her lies on the spot.
He picked up his phone and told the staff supervisor to summon the other waitress she was with in Ciara’s room.
A few moments later a soft knock was heard then the door was opened by a slim timid looking girl. She was probably still doing her first or second year of college and was working at the restaurant to help her parents with her college expenses.
” Mr Tod?”
” What happened in that room? Did Mrs Jones really hit your colleague here?”
He then asked her to think carefully about her answer as that would determine her place in the company, in other words she needed to be honest. At this point the assaulted woman was sweating hard under the clothes she was wearing. She gave the timid little girl an intimidating stare.
” yes sir she did.” she answered honestly, which caused the assaulted woman to relax a little thinking that the timid looking girl was on her side, if not the death Stare that she gave her was frightening enough to make her be on her side. But what came next shattered all of her high hopes.
” oh so she did, do you know why she did that?”
” I don’t really know, probably the way she carried herself in front of Mr Jones. Maybe Mrs Jones got upset after she saw her flaunting her cleavage and shaking her waist in front of Mr Jones.”
Tod was thinking for a while, then dismissed the little girl.
” OK thanks, you may return to work. “
The girl immediately left and continued serving her customers. Leaving the two people back at the office.
” See you tried to seduce the customer and went on to do this to your uniform. You know very well what you’ve done is strictly prohibited, yet you still went on to pulling your skirt up and and unbuttoning your shirt.
There’s nothing else we can discuss, go to finance and take your months salary. You no longer work for this company. “
The manager was fuming at this point but tried his best to speak as calmly as he could hoping the woman can leave the premises peacefully without having to call the security team.
The woman however angrily banged the door as soon as she left the office and started shouting and cursing at her fellow workers, blaming them for setting her up. If it wasn’t for them pushing her in to the rich man’s room she wouldn’t be in this position right now, she would have still kept her job. Then went on to the timid looking girl calling her a snitch.
” snitches don’t live long, will see where you will end up by snitchong on people. Mark my words girly you will regret what you did today.”
This was when both Liam and Ciara walked out of their room only to find a crowd gathered to see what was really going on. After listening for less than a minute, they were able to get an idea of what had happened and it was definitely about what happened in their room earlier.
” let’s go, I guess she go got the punishment she deserves.”
Ciara pulled Liam out immediately after he finished paying for their meal , she didn’t see the need to stay while watching someone’s downfall.
” Owh that’s the hag that can’t keep her hands to herself, it’s not my fault that her man doesn’t find her attractive anymore. Your time is up now granny give space for us beautiful and we will show you how to treat a mean, I’m telling you now that you can’t go around beating people just because they are prettier than you or just because your husband showed interest in them. “
As she continued on and on insulting Ciara, Liam’s body tensed up and then turned in the direction of those insults but Ciara pulled him closer to her, and they continued to walk out of that hotel.
” come on, don’t waste your breath she’s not worth it. We both know what happened in that room and what she’s saying right now is all but nonsense.”
Chapter 114
When he heard what his wife just said he dicided not to escalate it further than what the woman had done. As they were about to exit the main door they both noticed Boity still standing at the same spot she was before, the only difference now was that she was now leaning on Dexter’s shoulder. As Ciara shifted her eyes from Boity to Dexter she noticed that he had a disgusted facial expression as if he didn’t like being held by Boity so passionately .
‘ That’s the woman you chose, now you’ll have to suffer the consequences of your own actions.’
She thought to herself.
They quickly exited the restaurant and made their way back to their car and drove back home. The drive was smooth and quick, they both kept quite while listening to some good music.
As they pulled in the driveway Ciara frowned, her house now looks like it had been deserted, not a single room was lit.
” where did everyone go?”
” Well since you weren’t around I didn’t see the need for the house to have so many people, so I had to lay them off. Like before Ms Nicky comes in on selected days only.”
“Owh.”
Now that he’s mentioned it, it came to Ciara that on their marriage night the house did indeed look like this. As if an old coupled lived in it, which is contrary to the lively duo.
They got out of the car and Ciara followed Liam behind as if it was her first time coming to the house, they unlocked the door and switched on the light.
Even though it looked like the house was deserted before, but as soon as the lights were on, the house immediately became alive again. It was sparkling clean so much so that they could literally see their reflections on the floor.
Immediately when they closed the door, Liam’s phone rang. He took it out but frowned when he saw who was calling.
” Hello.”
He only grunted a few times then passed the phone to Ciara without saying anything.
” Who is it?”
” talk to them and you’ll find out.”
Looking at Liam’s frown she hesitated for sometime but still went on to put the phone on her ear.
” Hello?”
” You sly little fox, why don’t you tell us when you returned . Do you hate us that much that we only find out through the tabloids that you are back, huh?”
A high pitched voice was heard coming from the other side of the phone, it was non other than Lisa her friend. What Ciara didn’t know was that during the saga at the restaurant, there were a few people who had their phone cameras out and were able to capture pictures and some videos of both her and Liam from when they were exiting their private room to when they were paying for their meal and also when they left the premises. So right now they were really trending on the hot topics on the socials.
“Hey what do you mean, You found out through the tabloids?”
” You can’t go on public places like that and expect that no one would recognize you. Of course you are a hot topic on Twitter as we speak, hey that’s not the point here. Why didn’t you tell us about your return? “
The news just got Ciara worked up, she wanted to lay low for some time, but now she was trending yet again. Even though this time it wasn’t for the bad reason but she was still on the spotlight which was something she didn’t wish for.
” I only came back today, was going to hit you up tomorrow. Maybe you can both come over if you have time tomorrow , I have to go. “
She then hung up the call and looked at Liam in defeat. When Liam walked back with a glass of warm milk to her, he noticed her stare and showed some concern.
” what’s the matter, what did they say to you?”
She passed the phone back at him, then went on to take the warm glass of milk that he’d prepared for her.
” well I guess everyone in the city now knows about my return as well as the pregnancy. Can’t we have some bit of privacy in this city huh? “
When Liam heard this he pulled her closer to him and gave her tight hug.
” Don’t worry, as long as they are not posing as danger to you and our baby girl, we should be fine. “
She also nodded her head in agreement, she thought it was better no to check they had written an out her as she didn’t wish to get all worked up with unimportant people. After finishing her milk she walked upstairs to her room so that she could take her night shower and do her night skin routine.
Once done with her shower she went to the closet to pick out something to sleep in, she found her things were still as how she had left them nothing was touched or removed. She tried a few of her night dresses but none could fit her she ended up wearing her husband’s night were as that was the only thing that was comfortable for her.
“Hey I need to do some shopping tomorrow, these clothes don’t fit me anymore. “
She shouted, thinking that Liam was still downstairs but to her surprise, she hadn’t even finished her sentence when Liam walked in with a few shopping bags from a well known maternity shop. His eyes landed on Ciara’s body immediately when he walked in as a result he dropped all the bags in his hands.
” I see you don’t need these, you look even sexier in those.” his eyes darkened as he slowly walked closer to where Ciara was, the closer he came the more Ciara backed away until her back touched the wall and there was no more space for her to move.
Liam locked her body in, in his arms and started kissing her passionately. He went deeper and deeper with his k**s and at some point Ciara could feel a bulge hardening. His hands moved around her body caressing every sensitive part of Ciara’s body, then suddenly he stopped all his movements.
” Crap!”
He tried to calm himself down, then went in to the bathroom to cool off in the cold shower.
Ciara was left there all confused, there she thinking she would be getting some action from her husband after so much time had passed without any, not to mention that her libido was at its highest, but judging by how things were right now, it was clear that it was going to be a dry night for her.
She layed on the bed facing the ceiling lost in her thoughts, soon those thoughts were interrupted by the opening of the bathroom door, and Liam came out with only a towel around his waist.
Chapter 115
This didn’t help at all as Ciara was still in a very steamy mood.
” What happened?”
She needed to know what was up with his change of attitude.
Liam continued to change in to his pajamas, then came to the bed and also laid next to Ciara, rested his head over his arms, he then looked her.
” Are you not worried that we might hurt the baby, because I am? “
Ciara was quiet for a while but the smiles displayed on her face gave away how she actually felt. She wasn’t disappointed at all with Liam’s behavior, in fact ,she found it charming. She really liked how concerned Liam was about the safety of their daughter, it showed that he had really stepped in to his daddy role.
” Well I read somewhere that as long as you are gentle,there shouldn’t be a problem at all. But we can always consult with a doctor ,then we will know for sure.”
With that said she pulled over the blankets to cover the two of them, Liam then pulled her closer and hugged her to sleep . They both slept peacefully till the next day.
At the same time in Dexter’s mansion, it was a chaos as always. Today was worse as Boity saw her biggest enemy and cousin Ciara , and was blaming everything on Dexter.
” So this is the reason you wanted us to breakup all this while, you haven’t given up on her right? You say that , you need space and time to figure yourself out yet your ex comes popping again. Tell me do you really need to sort out your life and that’s the reason you want to be away from me or is it because you still hold some hopes in getting back with that woman? Talk!”
The woman was really getting worked up , she had thought that even though Dexter was slowly slipping away from her ,she still had a chance to change his mind. She believed that if she worked hard enough she would be able to win his love again, but sadly just when she was about to get started , Ciara popped up.
Dexter remained silent, he would be lying if he said that he haboured no hope in getting back with Ciara, although he was disappointed to see with a pregnancy bump earlier but that didn’t stop him from craving her love even more. He thought raising her child as his own will make up for the mistakes and heartbreaks that he had caused her in their previous relationship. He would also be lying if he said he needed to sort out his life, truth is, he didn’t love Boity at all and was now tired of her naggy and demanding self .
His silence proved that Boity was right all along, he did in fact harbor feeling for Ciara.
” God damnit Dexter, how could you do that to me? I’ve been nothing but loyal to you, how could you … We shall see what will happen to that love of yours when something were to happen to that mistress of yours.”
Only then did Dexter react to what she was saying as he abruptly stood up and shoved her against the wall , with anger brewing deep within his heart.
” You dare touch her and you will feel my wrath. That’s a promise.”
He then let go of her , causing her to lose balance and fell on the floor. All he heard as he left the room was her wicked laughter.
” hahahaha aha and do what? What exactly are you going to do, huh? Are you really turning against me because of that skank? Hehehe we shall see. Hehehe.”
The laughs went fainter and fainter till he could not here a thing coming from the house, he then told his security personnel to remove her from his house and never allow her access again. After that he got in to his car and drove off.
His team wasted no time as they manhandled her out of the property followed by an already packed suitcase filled with her belongings. Boity had to maintain whatever dignity she had left as she picked herself up along with her suitcase and walked down the street aimlessly till a cab driver stopped beside her and offered his services.
” Hello Miss , need a ride ?”
She didn’t have a home to go back to, her parents are back in the countryside and was no place she wanted to move back to it just didn’t fit her status now and the only place she could think of is the Williams residents but Ciara’s grandpa didn’t like her at all and never even once did he try to disclose his dislike of her.
” Yah sure take to this neighborhood.”
He gave the man the address and then stuffed her suitcase inside the car before jumping in herself. After that the old driver started the car and slowly pulled out of the street parking he was in.
” Are you ok miss? Need any help.”
The poor old man saw the miserable state she was in and thought maybe he could lend an ear or a helping hand if needed from him as that was also part of his job, to make sure that his customers were comfortable at all times. What he didn’t know though was that this customer in particular was a very rude person and was about to ruin his entire night.
” Is that part of your job? Poking your nose in matters that don’t concern you. How about you just focus on doing what you are being paid for and shut that stinky mouth of yours. How is it any of your concern if I’m ok or not, just mind your business.”
Shoot a man for trying to help, that’s exactly what came to the man’s mind. There wasn’t much he could say or do, he awkwardly moved his eyes from the rear view mirror to the road.
” My apologies ma’am.”
It only took them 30 minutes to reach the Williams residence. When they got to the gate , she took out her purse and paid for her ride and got off the card without a word. Once the car drove out of sight she turned around and faced the house entrance , still conflicted with whether she should just go in and pretend that everything was okay or just turn back and leave.
She may be a family member but that was still Ciara’s home with Ciara’s parents what if they chase her away, but then she remembered that they were not in good terms so it was highly unlikely that they would know about their fued. Not to mention that they had disowned her since long ago.
In the darkness she took a deep breath in and exhaled, then pressed the intercom button on the side of the gate and waited for a response
