Ch. 51..55: The Wife I Never Met chapter 51-55

Chapter 51

The girl was really in an emotional breakdown. Liam decided to take her back to their bedroom where she could rest and calm down , so he helped her out of the study and took her straight to their room. After a few minutes of calming her, Ciara finally fell asleep and that’s when he got up to finish what he had started.

Instead of it being a family day, the Jones’ decided to keep things simple as some of the family members were going through something. All this though did not stop Maggie from cooking up a storm, with the help of the maids of cause. She had always believed that food can always lift up someone’s mood, one way or the other. So she was hoping that it will also do the trick for her new daughter in law.

As Ciara was Sleeping, Liam took his car keys and headed out to meet his friends Finnick and Matthew. He had asked them for help in solving the problem at hand, so they decided to meet at their usual spot, Crowded.

As Liam was about to get out of his car, a phone beeped inside the car, and the notification tone wasn’t of his phone, so he looked around till his eyes landed on Ciara’s phone which was flashing as it had just received a text.

“You have less than 24 hours to make up your mind, time is running out. Use it wisely.”

That was when he remembered that Wilson had threatened Ciara to leave him. His threat was exactly around the same time when the news about him being with Annie and Ciara being the third party broke. Could this be a coincidence or maybe he is the culprit of it all.

He took Ciara’s phone with him as he alighted the car, he needed to trace this number to the source of the post that had now gone viral on the internet. If it is him, Liam swore not to go easy on him. He needed to show or prove to everyone that nobody messes with his family and gets away with it.

This time they were using a private room at the basement and not the private booth they’d normally go for when they want to have fun. As he arrived, he noticed that he was the first to get there so he sat down and busied himself on his laptop, as an intelligent person, cracking codes was one of the things he was good at. Now that he was alone with no distractions, he was able to fully focus.

Back at the Jones family residence, as some time had passed since Ciara had slept, she finally woke up. She then rushed to the bathroom as nature called, as she was sitting on the toilet sit, all the nasty comments about her that she read earlier came back flashing.

She couldn’t believe that people whom she’d never met and that didn’t know her at all would call her all sorts of name, worst of all a whore. They knew nothing about her but still were able to say she was a man snatcher, a loose woman and someone who deserves to die. She robotically stood up and walked toward the wash basin and washed her hand, for a while staring at the mirror in front of her. She found that she couldn’t recognize the woman standing in front of her and this added to the turmoil and storm brewing in her. As second and minutes went by, she found herself falling in her knees and broke down, she cried so hard that she was about to faint from all the crying.

“Lord why me, why? Tell me why?………….. What have I done to deserve this?, why does my life have to be this hard? Huh tell me, why?..”

She knew getting out of the house was not an option, under the current circumstances. Now after this, life would never be the same again, and with people threatening to kill her, it would never be easy to walk on the streets as freely as she would like to.

She didn’t understand why would people be so cruel to her, she had never offended anyone knowingly, for them to attack her this way. Could it be her uncle? Maybe this was the way for him to push her in to obedience, but he had given her two days and those two days are not up yet.

Now she was coiled up in a fetus position on the bathroom floor, silently sobbing. She did not have the voice nor the energy to cry out loud, but one question kept coming out of her mouth.

“Why, why, why???”

Although she did not have the answer to that question, and only one person can give her those answers which was the culprit of it all. But that person was nowhere to be found, so she kept asking anyway. She wrapped her arms around her knees as she thought of possible solutions but nothing came to mind.

If it was her uncle behind it, then she would rather suffer together with the people who loved her and support her than to give up the person she valued the most and possibly end up being alone and miserable for the rest of her life. Breaking up with Liam was not an option right now. That man is the only real family she has and she made a vow to herself not to throw that away.

Suddenly the bathroom door opened abruptly but Ciara who was currently in a world of her own did not see or hear the door open or when that person came in. She was deep in her troubles and thoughts that she had already shut out all the external noise and only herself and her troubles exited at that time.

She might have said that she wasn’t hurt at all but was only angry, but now that she was thinking about it, that was just her being in denial. Those comments were really hurtful and traumatizing.

Chapter 52

“Owh my god Ciara, you shouldn’t be doing this to yourself. Who ever is behind this is not worth your tears, OK? Stop crying now.”

That was Maggie who was almost done with cooking and came to check up on Ciara only to hear sobs coming from the bathroom, so she walked to see what was happening.

Now she was crouching next to Ciara trying to comfort her, only then did Ciara come back to earth. Maggie helped her up, and led her to the basin where she washed her face, she then helped her out of the bathroom to the living room where everyone was.

The aroma alone of the food being cooked lightened Ciara up. She sat quietly on the couch till Azlea came in. As the bubbly one in the family she understood her assignment and was determined to fulfill it, she sat next to Ciara and started a light conversation, as light as it was, it forced Ciara to respond. With time the stories started getting funny, Alzlea made sure to tell her about the embarrassing moments she had at school and did not forget to tell her about the time when she threatened her bullied with her powerful ruthless brother.

With all of these stories Ciara laughed hard, she even forgot that she just had an emotional breakdown not so long ago. Maggie also laughed as she watched from the kitchen, this was the Ciara she knew, one who is always light spirited not the broken woman she saw in the bathroom.

Finnick and Matthew finally arrived, but as always Matthew was the one making noise, he went on and on with how he had to leave the party at home to be here. But when he saw the room they’ll be meeting in he instantly knew it was serious, so gathered himself and he too became serious. They opened the door and walked in. When they got inside they noticed that Liam was very serious too with what ever it was that he was doing as he had only glanced at them and continued typing on his laptop.

” shouldn’t you be with with your wife comforting her with everything that’s going on.”

Matthew couldn’t take it anymore and had to voice out his mind or thoughts. He didn’t understand why Liam was busy with work on a holiday and especially when everyone in the country is dissing his wife like that. ‘shouldn’t he be putting a stop to all those rumors out there?’

When Liam heard Matthew question he paused for a second then continued typing but still responded.

“That’s why I need your help, I need to track the person behind this. But since it had been viral for a while it’s quite difficult to trace the source, worst they are using a ghost account. I need extra hands.”

“Finnick I need someone so keep an eye on Laura the actress as well as the mayor.”

He then looked back at Matthew again and said

” I’ll need your people to find the men behind the internet army and draw up letters to sue them or close their operations.”

He then continued typing his codes, but just couldn’t get a break through. Wilson’s number didn’t match with any of the numbers on the internet. He thought it was either Wilson was good at covering his tracks or that he wasn’t involved at all. All off his hacking had taken him 15 minutes or less, but this time it was different. It has been an hour since he started but it was as if he just started, he just couldn’t get the information he was looking for.

“bang!!!”

He hit the table in frustration, never in his life had he thought he would be this frustrated. Just then he received a call from his Mom Maggie and he immediately connected. He was sure that the call was about his wife, as he wanted to be sure that she was alright he answered as fast as he could, with worry written all over his face.

“Mom”

” Where are you?, we are almost done with the preparation.”

” I’ll head over, how is she though?”

“not so good but she’ll live, come over.”

“OK”

He then cut off the call and stood up to pack his things, and the two of his friends sitting directly opposite his seat on the table were shocked at his movement. Even the quiet Finnick wanted to know what was going on.

“Bro What just happened, is your wife OK?”

Liam patted his shoulders as he passed him, while he responded.

“she’ll be fine”.

But Matthew spoke again,

“If that is the case then why did you call us here and the leave us after only 2 minutes of us being here, couldn’t you just call us? “

“Matt!!!”

It wasn’t necessary for Matthew to speak like that as his friend was going through something but since they have been friends for a while now, they understood each other, so Liam wasn’t angry at Matthew’s words. He replied to him calmly.

“Not my fault that you were not here on time, now I’m leaving. Don’t forget to make those internet bustards pay.”

After that he did not look at any one in the room but left in long strides. He wanted to get to his wife as soon as he could, he wanted to serve as her shoulder to cry on, he wanted to be there for her, and with that mind, he quickly got in to the car and stepped on the accelerater heading towards his home, where his wife was.

Chapter 53

As he pulled up on the drive way of the Jones family residence, Liam could hear loud laughter coming from the house and his temper rose. He couldn’t understand why they were not being considerate towards his wife, Maggie had said it herself that Ciara wasn’t doing well, so why would they be enjoying themselves while his wife was suffering.

This thought alone fueled his anger, and now he was determined to take Ciara out of this house, he was not about to let his wife continue be with people who as inconsiderate as they were.

He closed the car door and quickened his pace in to the house, as he walked in the house though, he could clearly see the people sitting in the living room and to his surprise Ciara was one of those who were laughing out loud. As he listened to the conversation they were having and observing Ciara closely, he too found himself smiling. He wasn’t sure if he was smiling because the story was funny or because his wife was in a better mood now, but what he was sure about was that he was greatful to his little sister. He understood that this was Azzy’s way of cheering Ciara up.

He knew that Azzy would never share her embarrassing moments especially with someone she just met, so it was obvious that she was doing it for her new sister in law.

“Hey where have you been, come in, sit down and listen to this it’s quite funny.”

Only then did Liam notice that he had spaced out but tried not to make it look suspicious. He still smiled as he walked to his wife and sat right next to her. He then gave her a very long tight hug.

” I missed you “.

He then broke the hug with his eyes focused on hers he asked.

“How are you feeling now?”

“Well, it’s no use dwelling on it. Now all we need to do is focus on us and not the people trying to tear us apart..”

She was right, and he too knew that, but if he let this slide he wouldn’t be the ruthless Liam that everyone talked about. He needed to deal with the scums who broke his sweetheart. Starting with the culprit.

As they broke their eye contact, they noticed that Azlea was not in the room anymore and they both laughed.

” I guess she couldn’t take the public display of affection.” that was Ciara trying to sound as light as she could. And right at that moment Maggie called them to the dining area to enjoy their meal. George too who had been in the backyard basking in the sun also came in to join the family festivities.

They all sat around the table and after saying grace, they started dishing up for themselves. This lunch was not like any other lunch or dinner that they would share as a family. Every year on this day, they’d relax or lift all the rules during their meal times.

” You know we could solve this fast and effectively if you guys can come out as a married couple in a statement. That would surely close the mouth of all these gossip mongers. What do you think?”

Liam chewed on the potato he had just stuffed in his mouth before he could respond to his mom’s suggestion.

” it might do the job and stop all the bad mouthing and threats going around but not the biggest threat we’re facing. It would not stop the culprit from creating another scandal or even physically hurt My wife. So that’s not effective enough. We need to find the man behind the scenes and deal with that person, that way we would have cut off the roots of the tree. “

” or maybe you could just remove yourself from the whole situation, in my opinion, it’s just not worth it. “

Everyone’s head turned toward the direction of the loud squicky voice they heard, they were all wondering, who could be that dumb to think Liam would let his wife suffer like that, worse to even voice it out loud. Turned out to be one of Liam’s young brother’s stupid girlfriend.

They were starting to think that he had a thing for stupid blond girls, as he would always bring different ones each time, and the one he brought back today was the most stupid of them all. Had she not said anything, no one would have noticed that she was also in the room, but some did understand why she said what she said as she kept stealing glances at Liam throughout the meal. How stupid could she be, openly displaying her affection for a married man in front of his wife and family worse her boyfriend was also present in the room, who was totally embarrassed by her. There was a silent agreement at the table to ignore her, and they continued with their Meal.

On the other side of town in that dark room where a disheveled woman was in, things started to get better. The woman was now in a better mood that she was even able to take a bath and make her bed.

“huuuuh! I told you Ciara Williams, you’d never get away with this. Where are you now? Hahaha hahahaha!!!”

She was so proud of the impact her plan had caused, it has been two days but they have been able to influence the public opinion and everyone was against Ciara. By the looks of things if given a chance some were ready to eat Ciara alive, and with such results, it would be easy for her to impliment round two.

” Hehehehe now let’s see if Liam would want you after this. Would you escape this or fall right in to my hands? Hehehe we shall see..”

Chapter 54

At this moment at the Jones family residence, no one was aware of the evil plans formed against Ciara. They all enjoyed their Meal in harmony, while cracking jokes here and there. It was just the perfect atmosphere for a family holiday.

After the meal it was their usual habit to gather around the living room and play games or engage in some fun conversations. But this was not the case for Liam and Ciara who decided to take a short stroll around the garden, apparently that was good for digestion. For Ciara though it was quite refreshing, the greenery and different type of roses and other fresh flowers brought her peace in some way. It actually helped her forget for a moment what was happening on the internet. It was like it never happened at all.

“it’s called the miracle garden.” she heard a whisper in her ear and looked at Liam for some explanation.

“Well this garden has been here for quite some decades, at some point it was famous for improving the mood of anyone who entered it. Just that it’s a private property, so not many had the privilege to see it or even go inside…. Who knows maybe they were right, you might just feel better by just being here. “

Ciara smiled and hugged him from the side before responding to him.

” You are right, I feel better already though I doubt that it’s the garden. “

But Liam gave her a questioning look asking her to continue. He himself didn’t believe that a mere garden could help improve his wife’s mood but he was willing to try it out for her sake. But now that she said something else which was not the garden, improved her mood, he was curious to know what it was. “

” Well I’m not denying the fact that flowers bring peace and tranquility, but I think being in your presence itself brightens my life. You keep me calm.”

Hearing that Liam smiled and held closer her by her waist before kissing her passionately. He was content with her answer. They then continued walking for a while before they were disturbed by Azlea who begged Ciara to go out with her. Apparently she wanted to buy a wedding present for her at the nearest mall as they were still newly weds. Although more than 6 months had passed since they got married, to Azlea and the other Jones family members, they were nothing but newly weds as they had just found out about their marriage.

After a while Ciara relented, she agreed to go with Azzy shopping, although they said it would be the nearest mall but from where they lived, the nearest mall was like an hour away.

As Azlea didn’t want her brother tailing them around they got a driver to take them to their destination.

With that Liam went back to the house and decided to chill with his dad for a while, he was actually avoiding his mom who never stop talking. When he got to the study where George was, he found him playing chess alone and asked to join him, and that’s how the competition began.

Meanwhile Ciara and Azlea had arrived at the mall and they were going from shop to shop trying to find the perfect present but of course bought something from each store they visited.

” You know they say diamonds are a woman’s best friend, come there’s a shop over there let’s check out some necklaces.”

Although that was a suggestion, Ciara was left with no choice to say otherwise as she was already being pulled towards that shop.

Being from one of the richest families in the city, Azlea had a lot of privileges and one of those was a V. I. P Shopping card. Each and every store in this mall is controlled by this card, as they would always close the whole store when she shops. Even so Azzy never liked that treatment so she never took it out unless she’ll be spending a lot in that store. Today was one of those days, when they entered the jewelery shop Azlea showed the sales lady her V. I. P card, which the sales lady immediately locked the doors to give them the private treatment they deserved . Although she looked professional, she was actually over the moon as she knew that she would be making tons of profit from the sale today.

” Nice to see you again miss Jones, how may I be at your service today.” she was all smiles and one would never know that she was all grumpy not so long ago, nobody wants to work on a holiday with no customers, while everyone is enjoying their time with family.

” show us the best necklaces you have, so that we can choose the one we want.”

Not long after that the lady came back with lots of boxes with most expensive tags, even Ciara’s mouth was left opened from all the shock. Never had she ever thought that she would own a necklace that expensive. She wanted to reject the gift but then rejected that thought when she remembered how rich they were. This was probably like buying bread to them.

She picked one for herself and also picked one for Azlea, who ended up buying extra stuff. When they were done, they got ready to go back. They took all their shopping bags back to the car, but Ciara wanted to use the restroom before the hour trip back to the Jones residence.

Azzy waited for Ciara at the parking lot near the entrance while she went to the restroom. In no time she saw Ciara walking back to where she was which was actually next to their car but when she was about 3 cars away suddenly a group of men in black came out of nowhere and grabbed Ciara by force and stuffed her in a black tinted car they were driving and disappeared in no time. All of that happened in a blink of an eye, by the moment it all registered in Azlea’s mind everyone was inside the car and driving away. All she could do was scream.

“Ciara!!!!”.

Chapter 55

Although she wasn’t sure of what had just transpired but she knew for sure that she needed to call someone for help, and that person was none other than her trusted brother. Without waiting any time she took out her phone with her hand still trembling and dialed out a string of numbers.

On the other side Liam’s game was getting a little too competitive when his phone rang, he excused himself after reading the caller ID.

“what’s up? Found anything.” Finnick was on the other side of the call and indeed was calling to update him on the progress of their investigation. As a police chief everything and information was at the tip of their fingers, so he was able to gather all the information he needed in such a short space of time.

“Jeah it’s actually Laura behind the internet bullying, she started it all, before calling you I received news that she hired a bunch of goons to kidnap your wife. Make sure she’s by your side because I really don’t know what she’ll do to her when those goons find her. Apparently she’s mentally unstable and could be dangerous when she doesn’t take her meds. “

” Got it, thanks. ” Liam then ended the call, he couldn’t tell Finnick now that Ciara wasn’t anywhere near him. All the information he just received made him b***d thirsty, he has never laid his hand on any woman but right now, with how angry he was he couldn’t guarantee that he wouldn’t kill Laura if she harm his wife or even touched a single hair on her.

Now he needed to call Ciara to see if they were done, he needed to see her as soon as possible. He then dialed Ciara’s number but soon remembered that her phone was still with him as it rang in his pocket. Just when he was about to dial Azlea’s number, his phone screen brightened and it was a call from Azlea. Right then his body tensed up, it was as if he already knew what she was going to tell him. Just as he connected the call, a sharp crying voice was heard.

“Liam she’s gone, she’s gone. Ohw my God they took her, they took Ciara Liam I’m so sorry I couldn’t help her…” she bawled even harder, she blamed herself for taking her out when everyone was still cursing her to die, she thought she was dump to risk her sister inlaw’s life like that.

” calm down, I can hear you. Where are you now, where the driver. “

” Boohooohooo he’s also here, he tried running after them but they were just to fast.”

“Fine, tell him to drive you home. Be careful.”

Although he acted calm through out the conversation, he was actually seething with rage. He was sure he would kill that woman.

He then mobilized his team to search for Ciara, since Finnick had already told him about her mental condition, he wanted to come prepared.

….

When the group of men kidnapped her, at first Ciara fought for her life but as soon as she realized she was no match for them, she decided to stop struggling and save her energy. She might need it when it’s time to escape.

“So what exactly do you want from me, couldn’t you talk properly than to do all of this work.”

” Shut up, the boss has paid a lot of money to get you. She’ll decide what to do with you when we get there.”

Ciara’s tensed up body relaxed a little when she heard that the kidnapper was actually a woman, even if she harms or kill her it wouldn’t be as humiliating and embarrassing than being forced upon by a stranger. At least now she might have room to fight for hear dear life.

The men didn’t even bother blinding her through the journey as the place where she would be kept in is secluded and with little to no chance of survival should she escape.

They soon arrived to a place that looked like a farm but still drove for an hour till they reach a small dilapidated farm house. As she looked around, the area was filled with tall plantation all through to the gate, so even if she screamed there was no hope of anyone hearing her. What made things worse was the fact that ever since they left the city and drove toward the farmland there was no cars passing by and did not see a single person walking. Right then all her hopes of surviving shattered, the only hope she had was her family, the husband she left behind. She hoped that Azlea had already told Liam about her kidnapping and was probably now looking for her. She knew that, from where they took her, it would be difficult for Liam to find her but that little hope that someone was looking for her kept her going.

She was soon pushed inside as she was too slow for their patience, but she wasn’t expecting that so she stumbled before falling on the hard surface. As she fell down, her head landed on something as hard as a rock and soon her vision blurred.

“Stupid I told you, I wanted her alive. I want her to experience it all but now you are killing her right in front of me.”

That’s all she heard from this Familia looking silhouette before everything went black.

After some time though, slowly she regained her consciousness. Although her vision was slightly blurry, she could still recognize the men who had kidnapped her here. They were arguing about who pushed her in, their voices were loud which didn’t help with her pounding headeche.

She remembered she saw someone who looked like Laura before she lost her consciousness but now she wasn’t in the room. What worried her though was her words , ‘ what did she mean when she said she wanted me to experience everything, what exactly is she planning to do.’ she thought to herself.

“she’s awake, do you think the boss would mind if I taste her a little bit. Surely she wouldn’t right?”

” she sure is alluring alright, but remember we were paid for this. Once the boss is done with her, we will have our fill with her.”

Those comments really scared her to the core, what exactly is going on here?
