Chapter 61
Wilson had been irritated by the smallest of things the whole day, now they were currently sitting on the dining table having their meal. He had been thinking about Maggie’s comment all this time and still haven’t figured her stand in all of this. ‘could it be that she found out about their relationship and now favors that girl more?, No it can’t be, how can she want to have a daughter in law who was without a family. What benefits would she get from that marriage.’ he thought that the reason behind the comment should be because Maggie felt indebted to Ciara as he remembered how close Maggie was with Ciara’s mom years ago, but then again the uncertainty of if all hit him. He needed that marriage to happen, he wants to climb up the social ladder and with the, Jones family by his side that would surely become a reality. Now what he had to do was to force Ciara in to submission and needed to figure out effective ways to do that.
” Dammit did you trip and fall and dropped the whole bottle of salt in this food, it’s so salty. Just say it if you want to kill me goddammit. ”
” Dad that’s enough! Taking it out on us wouldn’t solve your problems but would make you even more miserable than you already are. “
Annie was now sick and tired of her dad’s tantrums and thought it was time someone called him out on his actions .
” miserable you say? How would you know that if you fail to even seduce a simple man like Liam and get him to fall in love with you. ”
He then threw his utensils on the table and stood up.
” I’m done here! ”
” dad I think it’s time you get comfortable with the fact that I would never be in a relationship with Liam. He belongs to Ciara and I’m certainly not going to take that away from her. Owh and for the 100th time I’m not interested in men. ”
” that’s not your decision to make girly, like it or not, yo will marry Liam. ”
” over my dead body. ”
” Annie!! Stop it, you can see that your dad is not himself today. Stop quarreling with him like that. ”
Seeing that things were now about to get out of hands, Mrs Wilson figured it would be wise to just step in and neutralize the situation .
Mr Wilson on the other hand was just frustrated with everything, so he stomped out of the room and locked himself in his home office. He paced up and down for a while as if he was formulating a plan in his mind and then after a while of doing that he sat down and dialed Maggie’s number, which rang for some time before it got cut off.
” dammit!! ”
He hit the desk so hard that his knuckles immediately turned red. He was confused and frustrated at the same time. What he couldn’t understand was the reason behind Maggie’s strange actions.
On the other side once Laura was done with her press conference, she was led out of the room and back to that black highly tinted car which drove her out of the city.
As she noticed that they were passing the city’s boarder she started to panic.
” haven’t you punished me enough, where the hell are you taking me to? So now you want to kill me after torturing me for this long? Mhmfp once I come out of this alive, I will come for you one by one, especially that skank Ciara. ”
” hehe hehe he. ‘”
Now she started laughing like a mad woman, it’s true when they say if a mentally unstable person doesn’t take their medicine for an extended period of time they would literally go mad, and that was the case with Laura.
” Enjoy it while it last girlie, because when I return, I will make you pay for everything that happened. Hehehe you think you can control Liam, huh! Think again, I will show you how to treat a man like him. Then when I do, he will surely forget about you and be mine for ever. Hehehe! ”.
Now listening to what she had been saying all this while, the driver and security personnel in the car looked at each other for a brief moment. It was like they had started to worry, they were definitely not worried about their safety but that of their lady boss.
They needed to make sure that the security is tight and that she could never escape the facility they were taking her to. To them the safety of their employers was their main priority and at this moment this woman they are transporting posed as danger and they really needed to restrain her.
After a few hours they reached the mountains of D city where the mental facility was located, they parked their car and got out, they then walked toward the entrance of the facility. But as soon as Laura noticed that they were at a psychotic hospital she became even worse. She wanted to leave as soon as she could but soon the nurse held her in place and sedated her and soon passed out.
Chapter 62
As soon as Laura’s segment was done, they switched off the the TV and continued with their day. But off cause Azzy, Lisa and Stacey as expected were keeping track of the comment section on the top trending topic which was about Laura.
They had moved to a far corner of the swimming pool to avoid Ciara from hearing them as they curse Laura along with her fans.
Ciara on the other hand wasn’t bothered by all of this, she sat near her husband and his friends.
” I wonder what will happen to her, will she get arrested? ”
” don’t worry sister in law, she wouldn’t be able to touch now. She’s been sent to a far away place. ”
She was confused, so it wasn’t the police who had captured Laura? If so what did they do to her and what did they mean when saying she’s been sent to a far away place?
” what do you mean Matt? ”
He was about to respond when he noticed the daring look on Liam and withdrew what he was about to say. But Finnick spoke anyway.
” you see, if she gets arrested, she would only be detained for 6 months up to a year. We are certain that once she gets released she would come for you again, which is why we saw it fit to take matters in our own hands. ”
” is she alive though? ” as much as Laura had caused her such suffering. She still didn’t want to have b***d in her hands, she didn’t wish for her to die but would much rather hate her from a far.
” what do you take us for? Finnick is an official and I here am a lawyer, we only punished her as how she was supposed to be and made sure she wouldn’t harm you again. She’s safe where she is, as long as she does not try to escape. ”
Hearing this Ciara tried not to ask any questions, as long as she doesn’t know the exact details of Laura she would not carry guilt over her. That’s probably also because she didn’t hear all those threats Laura threw at her all the way to the psychotic facility.
As it was a chilled day and everyone desired to be outdoors, the maids prepared the dining table outside. They soon brought out the food to the table, only then did Maggie get to relax as she had been helping in the kitchen.
This meal was actually prepared to cheer up Ciara hence most of the dishes prepared were her favorite. Among those were sticky pork ribs, barbaqued wings, cheesy baked potatoes and lots of green salad. There was a saying that Liam knew well, ‘the way to Ciara’s heart was through her stomach.’ and seems like Maggie knew that too as the sight of these scrumptious dishes Ciara’s eyes beamed with delight.
As the food was now ready, everyone got up from where they were and walked up to the table where they sat down, at this moment George had also arrived. Once it was decided that they would make this day yet another holiday Maggie also called her husband and invited him in which explains why he appeared at Liam’s house at this hour.
Maybe it was because of the incident with Laura but this time around Ciara found herself getting closer to George, she got to know the person he is. He may appear to be strict and unapproachable but in reality he was just a simple man who wanted to live his last days in peace. He may have been ruthless like his son in his youth and business days but right now he was none of that but a family man.
He would crack jokes here and there, he was so chilled that even Lisa and Stacey began to relax. They were so surprised at how this family in particular treated them as normal human beings. According to their experiences when it came to rich people, they would always look at the duo as if they were nothing and did not exist. They would treat them harshly for not affording certain things and would also call them out whenever they are in public so that they could be embarrassed. But the Jones family who were the most rich family in the country were more humble than those nasty people who claimed to be rich.
Once they were done with their Meal the guys walked out to the field and played soccer while the ladies chilled in the pool area, it was such a relaxed environment as they basked in the sun and enjoyed the ocean view that was presented before them. All of this left Ciara feeling grateful, she was happy to have found herself a new family, unlike her b***d relatives who were ready to discard her the moment she tried to spread her wings and be herself, This family stood by her side through her toughest times. At first it was just herself, Lisa and Stacey who held each other through it all, at times things would be hard for them to deal with but now they had more people to rely on, Liam would solve all the things she fails to handle on her own.
All this time she had been looking at Liam with admiration and had a lot of respect for the man.
” eeeeh CiCi are you ok? ”
Only then did she come to her senses
Chapter 63
” hehe he hehe he, don’t be stupid Lisa. Can’t you see that Ciara here is smitten over her husband, the poor woman have been drooling all this time. ”
Upon hearing this Ciara’s face flushed red, she wasn’t really looking at Liam in that manner, she was just grateful to him for everything he has done for her, but then again admiring how nature had favored Liam. She secretly felt that the creator took his time when making that man.
” stop it you guys, I’m ok. I’m just thinking about everything that had just happened and also grateful for that man, cause without him I wouldn’t be standing here right now intact.
Gratitude is one of the most important qualities a person should possess and because of that Ciara wanted to reward Liam for being there for her.
At this moment the family enjoyed themselves till it was late at night and was time for them to leave.
Now it was only Liam and Ciara in the house tidying up everything before they could get some rest. As Liam was fixing the couches Ciara kept throwing cushion pillows at him, at first he ignored her, but then Ciara continued with the action which annoyed him a little as he was tired and when Liam looked up at her, she would flash him the brightest smile ever and just couldn’t get angry at her.
So he picked up the scattered cushions with the intention of placing them back on the couch, but as he rose up, he was hit by yet another cushion. He looked at her with an evil smile and took a step toward Ciara, but that one step alerted Ciara and laughed at him as she ran upstairs to their bedroom.
Noticing this Liam laughed lightly and shook his head, ” what a cunning woman. ”
He then picked up the rest of the cushions and carefully placed them on the couch after that he also followed Ciara upstairs, but the woman wasn’t in the room. He soon heard the running water coming from the bathroom and slowly walked up to the door, but when he tried to open it, he found that it was locked. He snickered then walked up to his bedside table and took out a set of keys then opened the bathroom door using those keys.
Ciara on the other side jumped in shock as she saw the bathroom door opened. She remembered clearly that she had locked the door so how was Liam able to get in.
” Hey I locked that door for a reason, get out now I’m not done yet. ”
Being the shameless man that he was Liam did not walk out but shut the door behind him with a bang then walked up to the shower were Ciara was as he took out his clothes.
” I’m a little sweaty and sticky, it will be faster if we shared the shower ”
Buy the time he was done with his sentence he had already found his way in the shower stand and started kissing her.
” hey hey, what are you doing? Take your bath and leave me alone, can’t you see that I’m tired.
” huuuu! Not a chance. You can’t seduce me first them leave me hanging like that, you need to finish what you started sweetheart. ”
He then smashed his lips on to hers, not giving her a chance to speak back. What seemed like torture was actually what Ciara desired the most at that moment. She was with her savior, her husband and her best friend. She had planned to be intimate with Liam that night, it’s just that Liam wasn’t patient enough to wait and see her take the lead.
After everything and taking their bath, they found themselves laying motionlessly on their huge bed both exhausted from the activities of the day.
” I know I’ve said this countless times before this, but Liam, Thank you. Thank you for always being there for me, thank you for being the support system I’ve always needed. ”
By this time Liam was now dosing off to sleep as he was exhausted and needed to rest, but still heard every word Ciara spoke. He lazily turned to face her before he could respond.
” Hey no need to be so courteous, I am your husband and it’s my responsibility to make sure that you are safe. ”
” mhmm, I love you. ”
” hahaha like you have a choice…. ”
He then leaned in to give her a k**s before he continued with his sentence.
” I love you even more sweetheart. ”.
They then cuddled with each other till they both dosed off to sleep. Both their sleep was so peaceful and had no dreams through out the night and did not wake up till the next morning.
Today was their last day of holiday, they both needed to go back to work the following day. So they decided to spend this day together with no distraction. It wasn’t offen that they get to be together the whole day as Liam was a very busy man, so today he had decided to stay in and spend the day with his wife.
They were currently seated in the dining table having their breakfast when Liam suddenly asked a very tricky question.
” we’ve been together for a long time now, don’t you think it’s time that we expand the family?.. ”
Chapter 64
expand the family’
This request came unexpected to Ciara, she remained frozen for quite some time and Liam thought she was against the idea.
” it is ok if you are still not ready, we can wait. ”
He said those word in a low voice, it was evident that he was disappointed by Ciara’s response but because he cared about her, he was not going to force her in to it.
” no not at all Liam, it’s not that I’m against the idea but I was just taken by surprise by your question. Do you think we are ready though?, ready to take care of a new born baby and all the responsibilities that comes with being a parent? ”
It’s not that Ciara didn’t want to have a Child with Liam or wasn’t ready to have one but the request itself took her off guard. After being with him for this long, she was much more comfortable being around him, she grew to love him and the kind of person that he is. Giving him a child wasn’t such a bad idea after all. During this time her brand grew a lot, although she had mostly trended for the bad stuff but that gave her a little bit more exposure and more people read her novels and some even searched the movies she wrote and watched those. We could say that negative publicity is also a good thing. So with her career doing so well and her love life growing stronger she didn’t think that having a child would be a bad thing, besides she has been thinking of ways to show gratitude for Liam and a baby seems like the perfect gift. It will not only be a gift to Liam but it will be a gift to both of them as they will get to care for , love and protect that gift together.
” well we are both old enough to have children and remember babies don’t come with a manual, it had always been a learning process. We will both learn to take care of her together. We will help each other wherever one lacks and if we both fail, there’s always an option to ask Google for help. ”
Cara laughed at him when she heard him mention Google, why would she check on Google when she could always go to a doctor when needed or ask experienced mothers for help.
” Hey hey, fine, but I’ll only agree on one condition. ”
She stated seriously while looking at Liam who was already excited as Ciara had somehow agreed on expanding their family.
” I agree! ”
He declared with certainty.
” Liam! Please be serious, I haven’t told you the condition yet but you agreed? ”
” Yes I am serious. I agree. ”
” why? Please enlighten me. ”
” Well you are my wife and I know that you would never ask for anything outrageous and definitely wouldn’t kill me since you need me in order to conceive. ” with that he showered her with the brightest grin ever, he was certain that he had gave the best answer.
Well for some part he was right as Ciara nodded her head while pouting her lips and she looked like she was contemplating something.
” fair enough, but I still feel like I should state my condition. ”
” OK that would do, I’m listening. ”
” Liam I don’t want to feel like I’m performing a task at working rushing to meet a deadline, that can be pretty exhausting. I don’t want to feel pressured as that too can take away the fun and joy of our marriage but would rather let it flow naturally and it would happen when it’s for it to happen. ”
Liam was quiet for a while staring blankly at the wall, he then shifted his gaze toward Ciara and held her hands.
” That’s definitely not one condition sweetheart, but you don’t have to worry. I will do all the work. ”
” Sigh!! ”
He then looked at Ciara who was sighing because of frustration and then smirked at her.
Ciara on the other hand was annoyed by his response, she knew that he had heard what she said but just didn’t like how he was somewhat nonchalant in his response. Well what can she do, she has already agreed to the man.
” can you ever be serious? I’m pretty sure your subordinates would be shocked to see you in this state. ”
Right then Liam stood up and pulled her in for a k**s. He kissed her for a while then stopped and looked at Ciara in the eyes which now were half closed from the passionate kissed they just shared.
” Owh I’m serious alright, I’m your husband and have a very important job to do. ”
The smile never left his face as he talked to Ciara. He then scooped her up, with her legs wrapped around Liam’s waist to secure herself in that position. He then walked up to the couch where he tossed her on before getting on top of her.
” Hey stop it there are people working, what will I do if they see us. ”
” This is your house sweetheart, you can do whatever you desire and no one will question you. ”
He then continued with the task at hand, he kissed her for a while before Ciara pushed him away again. Seeing that his wife was not comfortable Liam stopped the k**s and took her to their bedroom where he continued exactly where he left off.
The bedroom door was tightly closed for hours till almost noon, they probably would have stayed in for the entire day if none of them felt the hunger. Ciara got out of bed, cleaned herself up in the bathroom then went to the kitchen to whip up something for the two of them but strangely she noticed that the house was unusually quiet today, even Ms Nicky was not in sight. She walked slowly toward the kitchen in very light footsteps
Chapter 65
Not even Ms Nicky was in the house. As she slowly walked around the house, her brain was all over the place and was at some point paranoid by her thoughts. Her mind was full of pictures of all possible scenarios of what had happened while their bedroom door was locked.
” could it be that another person except us was in the house”
She thought about a couple of men dressed in black with masks coming in to her house and forcefully taking Ms Nicky and the others away.’ buy now she could feel and hear them screaming on top of their lungs asking for help As they were dragged out of the house.
Just then as she entered the kitchen a hand was laid over her shoulders which startled her and as a result she screamed on top of her lungs.
” Heheheh hehe, what’s on your mind why would you be so startled, no you are definitely frightened. ”
” Stop it Liam, you know I almost died of fright right now , why would you sneak up on me like that? ”
She was now patting her chest in attempt to calm herself down,
” anyway where’s everyone? ”.
” well if we are going to spend the day together with no distractions, then they would have to leave. I’ve given them the day off. I guess they are also spending the day with their loved ones. ”
” I see. ”
She then continued walking in to the kitchen and when she was about to take out the pots, she noticed a big piece of paper with her name on it. Ms Nicky was informing her that she had already prepared their meal and was ready to be reheated in the oven.
She opened the oven to look for the cooked meal and true enough it was there and all she needed to do is reheat and enjoy the meal with her husband.
After their meal, they lazied around for the rest of the day over some movies.
” Any news from your uncle? ”
Now Liam’s voice was serious, it’s wasn’t as cheeky and playful as before. This was probably to show the graveness of the situation. He needed to know if she had received any further threats from her uncle in the past few days since he had returned her phone to her.
” well I haven’t been checking my phone recently, but I’m certain that he did try to contact me recently. I bet he wanted to know if I have separated from you yet, haa!, he must just forget because I’m not going anywhere. ”
Her words made him smile a little, and although it was just a shallow smile, he was deeply touched by her words and was probably going to be in a good mood all day. ‘so she really is as invested as I am to this marriage.” he thought to himself.
” good you are aware of the fact that you’re stuck with me for the rest of your life sweetheart. ”
At that moment at the Wilson family residence, Mark Wilson was sitting in his office going through some documents. This time around he seemed a lot calmer than he was a few days ago when he learned of Laura’s defeat and couldn’t get through to Ciara . This time it seemed like his plan had finally came together and it was only a matter of time till he implemented it. He smiled a little when he thought of the results should his plot be successful. Now his only task was to butter up to Maggie and find out what went wrong and see if their relationship can still be salvaged.
It was now the early morning of the following day and Ciara had managed to wake up around the same time Liam did, so this time they were able to enjoy breakfast together before they went back to work for the first time in the new year. They were so lovey dovey throughout breakfast declaring their love for one another, if one would look at them from a far they’d assume that the two love birds have only started dating. That was how much they were in to each other.
” Hey let’s go to work together, I’ll send you. ”
This was a sweet gesture from her husband, but instead of being happy Ciara freaked out.
” No no way, not after what just happened everyone’s eye will be on me, so no thank you. I’ll take a bus ”
” No wife of mine will be using public transport, not when everyone is out to get you. Take this you will need it from now on. ”
He threw some car keys at her, and this took Ciara by surprise.
” Hey what are these for? ”
” What do you mean what are these?, they are your car keys off cause. Come with me, I’ll show you your new car. ”
She was so excited she couldn’t even to see the car as she excitedly followed behind him. When they got to the garage Ciara spotted the black covered SUV and rushed to it.
” Is this the one? ”
She asked him in disbelief, she didn’t think that Liam knew what her favorite car was. And although the car was still covered but the keys that she was holding told her exactly what car she was getting.
” yeah ”.
Liam answered with a smile, but noticed a trail of tears on Ciara’s eyes.
” Hey Hey what is wrong, do you not like the car? ”.
