To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 451-Am I Going to Raise You?

He secretly blamed Yvonne, too. If it weren’t for her influence, he wouldn’t have sold his shares, and if it weren’t for her insistence on starting a business, the money wouldn’t have all been gone. They wouldn’t have had to move to a place like this.

Yvonne could hear the blame in his words, and she instantly scowled. “What?

Are you blaming me?

“No” Sam walked to the sofa and sat down. He suddenly realized that Yvonne wasn’t as great as he had imagined. But he still loved her, so he didn’t say it out loud. He was only venting.

“Look at you. You’re useless.” Yvonne didn’t hold back. She was upset with him for a long time.” Why don’t you get a job and earn some money? Am I going to raise you?” Yvonne roared. She regretted marrying him.

Sam was feeling angry, too. “Me, working a job? Never.” “Are you planning to rot away like this for the rest of your life? Waiting for me to work?” Yvonne’s tone was heavy.

Sam said nothing. He would never go to work. If those friends of his found out, they’d laugh at him Besides, he had a way out Although his shares were sold, his father’s were not. He could go back to the Bloom Mansion and live there. He would not find a job. As for why he would live with Yvonne in a place like this, it was mostly because of his pride. He was waiting for his father to take the first step Yvonne shoved him when she saw how quiet he was. “Are you even a man right now? Men have to take responsibility” Im not going to!” Sam insisted “Divorce me!” Yvonne was enraged. She thought there was no use in persisting like this anymore. If they-split up, she might find better options.

Surprisingly, Sam wasn’t upset when he heard her suggestion. In fact, he seemed relieved. “Your said it We’ll divorce.” “You probably wanted to divorce early on, didn’t you?” Yvonne thought Sam would apologize and beg her to stay, but now.

Sam thought nothing of it. “You’re the one who wanted it, not me.” “You loser” Yvonne scolded. He clearly wanted to divorce her early on, but he didn’t say it out loud, waiting for her to do it instead. Then, it would all be her fault.

He was trash!

She wouldn’t have married him if she had known that this would happen.

Sam let her vent her anger on him. He seemed numb; he wasn’t upset at all.

Jenny got off work at the hospital. The receptionist called her when she reached the entrance There’s a letter for you. Dr. Walter.” Jenny was surprised. She went over to take it from the receptionist and opened it. There was an invitation card in it that said, “Parrington Medical University 60th Anniversary Celebration.” Her university was celebrating its 60th anniversary. The university had sent out invitations to successful alumni such as her so they would attend the celebration together. Although she only took one subject in university, she enjoyed her life on campus. She decided to attend the celebration.

She took the invitation and went to the entrance. It was then she realized that Alec was waiting for her.

“Dinner’s on me,” Alec said, smiling when he saw her. He seemed to be in high spirits, and he was indeed. After settling Mortimer’s issues and explaining it all to Jenny, Alec thought he had to express his sincerity so that Jenny would know he was genuinely sorry.

To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 452-I Just Don’t Like You That Much “I’m not hungry,” Jenny refused. She was feeling tired and wasn’t in the mood to eat with Alec.

His face shifted slightly after being rejected. He was a little embarrassed. “You can’t upset your stomach. You need to eat something, at least.” In his eyes, Jenny wasn’t hungry She just didn’t want to eat with him, which made him sad. Thankfully, he had thick skin. Otherwise, he would have turned and left.

“Are you less busy nowadays?” Jenny asked.

Alec nodded. “Almost everything is settled.” Jenny’s phone rang; it was Jade. Jenny was a little surprised. She accepted the call, and Jade immediately asked, “Are you free tonight, Jenny?” “Yes. What’s up?” Jenny ignored Alec’s presence. It wasn’t as if he was here on serious business. Of course she’d say she was free.

Jade didn’t know about Jenny’s situation. She said at once, “There’s a brilliant person applying for a job at the company. I’d like you to look him over. And if you think he’s alright, I’d like to make him the vice president.” Following Jenny’s dreams, they would later establish a corporation, not just a fashion company. There would be more things piling up in the future, and she couldn’t handle it alone.

Besides, she was only experienced in the fashion department. If Jenny wished to expand her company and involve other industries, it would be out of her skillset. Hiring people would be crucial during this time.

Jenny was a little surprised. She and Jade had talked about hiring people, but they didn’t have high hopes for it. After all, finding a good manager would not be an easy task. She didn’t think that Jade would find someone so soon.

“Alright. I’ll come over right now,” Jenny agreed. She wanted to see for herself the person that had gotten Jade all excited. She hung up and looked at Alec.

“Sorry. I’m busy today. We’ll do it next time.” Alec went pale and felt an ache in his heart, but all he could say was, “Alright.” Jenny was about to hail a cab, but Alec said, “I’ll drive you.” Jenny didn’t refuse him this time. She had already rejected him once. If she rejected him again, he might explode in anger.

They said nothing in the car. Alec drove in silence, and Jenny scrolled through her phone. There were already a few alumni talking about the celebration.

Everyone was curious to see who was considered successful in the eyes of the university.

Jenny said nothing, reading quietly.

“Jenny,” Alec said, sweeping his gaze over at her.

Jenny locked her phone and looked at him. “What?” “Do you hate me?” Alec asked. Although he hated to admit it, Jenny didn’t seem to like him very much. Her attitude was making it very apparent.

Jenny fell deep into thought. A moment later, she said, “I don’t hate you. I just… don’t like you that much.” It took time for feelings to develop, but disliking someone only took a while. After Alec’s string of lies, Jenny suddenly lost her feelings for him. She was surprised, too. Perhaps she was a cold person at heart.

“Is there any hope for me?” That was what Alec wished to know the most. If Jenny honestly wouldn’t give him another chance, there would be nothing he could do.

To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 453-He’s Called Faust, Too His question was giving Jenny a headache. She didn’t answer him outright, merely asking, “Would you give up even if I said no?” Alec shook his head at once. “I’d never give up, even if you don’t give me a chance.” Jenny laughed. “So why are you asking this question?” He was going to persist anyway. He needn’t ask if there was to be a conclusion.

Alec understood, but he still felt uncertain. He said nothing more and drove on.

Soon, the car stopped at La Vie Jen Rose Designs.

Jenny didn’t linger for long. “Thank you,” she said.

“No problem. Call me if you need anything.” he said like always, despite knowing that Jenny wouldn’t call if something happened.

Jenny waved at him, then went into the building. Alec watched her leave before driving away unwillingly.

When Jenny reached Jade’s office, only Jade was in there. She was surprised.

“Didn’t you say I was to meet someone? Where are they?” “I got the assistant to bring him around the company. They’ll be back soon. Have a seat.” Jade motioned for her to sit. She didn’t want Jenny to be anxious.

Jenny nodded and sat in front of her, asking, “What’s making you put him in such high regard?” “Based on his resume, he’s way too qualified to work with us. He’s too good for this company.” Jade wasn’t exaggerating. She truly felt that he had a stellar application and that La Vie Jen Rose Designs wasn’t up to his standards.

Jenny raised an eyebrow. She was curious now. “Really? Seems like an extraordinary person.” “Not just that, he’s handsome, too,” Jade said, sighing.

“You’re not just hiring him just because of his looks, are you?” Jade rolled her eyes at Jenny. “Would I do that?” Jenny thought for a while and nodded. “You could be a cougar at your age. It’s possible.” Jade was both amused and exasperated. She raised her hand, but Jenny didn’t flinch. She knew that Jade would not actually punch her, and as expected, Jade didn’t.

“Oh, quit it. I’m not that type of person,” Jade said, pretending to be angry.

Jenny smiled. It was at moments like this that she could feel relaxed.

Someone knocked on the door. Jade called them in, and two people walked in.

One of them was Jade’s assistant. The other… Jenny’s gaze fell on him, and surprise flashed through her eyes. He was, as Jade described, young and handsome, but it wasn’t why Jenny was surprised.

She might have been mistaken, but she could see traces of Alec on him.

“Alfred, this is the owner, Jenny Walter. Say hi to her.” Jade waved at him, her bright smile revealing how satisfied she was with him.

Alfred walked toward Jenny and smiled. “Hello, Miss Walter. I’m Alfred Faust.” Alfred Faust.

Faust was his name.

Jenny thought that it was too much of a coincidence. How could he both look like Alec and share his name?

But she had never heard Alec mentioning a brother. Could it really just be a coincidence?

To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 454-Could He Be an Illegitimate Child?

“Jenny?” Jade called out her name when she realized that Jenny wasn’t responding. Could she be infatuated already?

Jenny came back to her senses awkwardly. “Sorry. My mind drifted off.” Alfred smiled, not taking it to heart.

The assistant had gone, leaving the three of them in the office.

Jade got Alfred to sit before briefly telling Jenny of his credentials. Once Jade was done, Jenny had to note how brilliant he was. No wonder he got Jade so excited.

“I’m curious to know, Mr. Faust. Based on your resume, you could have chosen a much better company. Why did you choose La Vie Jen Rose Designs?” He had to know it was a startup company, miles away from other commercial companies.

Alfred wasn’t surprised at the question. He smiled, saying, “I understand your concerns, Miss Jenny. But I think that talented people will be overshadowed in big companies. On the contrary, companies like yours, which have not matured yet, are able to showcase my talents.” His words made sense. Jenny nodded, believing him for now. “I don’t have any questions for you. You’re brilliant. Your application is a blessing to me.” She’d be wasting a gift from heaven if she turned him away.

Alfred kept his smile on as if nothing would excite him. “Well, in that case…I’m looking forward to working together with you.” “Likewise.” Jenny got up, and they shook hands.

It was a success. Jade was happy. “Let’s have dinner together. We’ll all be colleagues in the future “Of course. You can pick the restaurant, Jade. It’ll be my treat.” Jenny maintained her formality as the boss.

Jade quickly booked a spot in the restaurant. She looked at them. “Let’s go. Our seats are booked.

“Alright.” Jenny nodded and looked at Alfred. “Let’s go, Mr. Faust.” “Just call me Alfred, Miss Walter. Mr. Faust sounds foreign.” Alfred meant to draw closer to them, and Jenny didn’t see the need to refuse.

“Alright, you can call me Jenny like Jade does. We can drop the formalities after work,” she said “Okay, Jenny.” Alfred smiled brighter as if he was waiting for this.

They left the company. Jenny sat in Jade’s car while Alfred followed in his own car.

Jade couldn’t help asking, “Well? He’s handsome, isn’t he? You were dazzled.” “What do you mean? I was just tired Jenny was exasperated Alfred was indeed handsome, but it wasn’t as if she’d never seen a handsome man before.

What were you thinking of?” Jade asked.

Jenny thought for a bit before saying, “Don’t you think that Alfred looks like someone?” “Who?” Jade was in the dark. She couldn’t think of anything.

“Don’t you think he looks like Alec?” Jade was stunned. She was about to say that he didn’t, but when she thought about it, they did seem similar. She couldn’t say why, it was just a feeling.

“Maybe a little bit,” she said after a pause.

Jenny’s suspicions were confirmed. She wasn’t the only one who thought so.

“Could he be Alec’s father’s illegitimate son?” Jade said in surprise. Rich people were all like that. They would have illegitimate children. It was a possibility.

Jenny had her suspicions, too. On top of that, she knew that Alec’s father had eloped with Max’s mother. What if they had a son together?

To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 455-Do You Think I’m Annoying?

The more Jenny thought about it, the more creeped out she felt. If Alfred was Mortimer’s illegitimate son, could it just be a coincidence that he wanted to work at La Vie Jen Rose Designs?

She couldn’t be blamed for overthinking. There were too many coincidences. It was weird, no matter how one looked at it.

“If I’d known earlier, I wouldn’t have hurried the agreement.” Jade was flustered.

She had probably thought of his motives, too. If he was truly Mortimer’s illegitimate son, working at La Vie Jen Rose Designs was a suspicious act.

Jenny sighed. The agreement was already signed, so they couldn’t go back on their word now. They couldn’t just lose out on money like that.

“It’s alright. We’ll just observe if he has any ulterior motives. Keep an eye on him,” Jenny instructed. They would handle anything thrown at them. She believed that they would catch him. one day. Then, she added, “But don’t make it too obvious.

What if we’re wrong? We’d just upset him.” “I know.” Jade nodded. However, her attitude toward Alfred was no longer as warm.

Alfred was on the phone in his car. “Don’t worry. Since when have I failed at anything?” he said to the person on the other end. “My identity? So what if they find out? I’m not some criminal. They can’t fire me just because I am your son.” He didn’t think that Jenny was someone like that.

He talked with Mortimer for a bit, then hung up. He’d come to Jenny’s company to grow closer to her.

Not long after, the cars stopped, and they walked into the restaurant.

Jenny and Jade appeared normal. They treated Alfred nicely, albeit on their guard.

Alfred knew nothing of this. He kept up the conversation amicably with Jade and Jenny about the company. Jenny had to admit that Alfred was experienced in that department. All that he said was what Jenny was thinking about. She grew to have a higher opinion of him.

If only he had no ulterior motives.

She had to check it out for herself. What if this was just a misunderstanding?

She had already made the decision in her heart. Alfred’s smiles accompanied them throughout the entire evening, blurring the lines between conspiracy and fact.

After dinner, Alfred left, and Jade sent Jenny home. After giving Jade a few simple instructions, Jenny said nothing more, and she got off the car.

At the door to her apartment, she saw that Alec’s door was ajar. She was surprised.

She took the keys out to unlock her door. Just as she was debating seeing Alec, he walked out.” Have you eaten?” he asked.

She was stunned and had to come back to her senses. “Yes. Have you?” “Oh.” Alec was disappointed.

Jenny felt embarrassed as if she’d done-something wrong. “Haven’t you?” “I was waiting for you.” Alec smiled awkwardly. He thought she would be back earlier than this.

Jenny thought there was something off about Alec’s behavior. She said patiently, “Alec, you don’t have to do this. You can focus on your own things. You don’t have to spend all your energy on me.” It would only tire Alec, and she couldn’t quite accept it herself.

“Do you think I’m annoying?” Alec looked at her, his eyes full of disappointment.

It made Jenny a little flustered. She explained hurriedly, “No, not at all. I just don’t want you to waste your time. Aren’t you busy?” “I’m not wasting my time. I’m using it willingly.” Alec smiled, looking at Jenny with passion in his eyes.

That was right. He was willingly spending time on her. He’d do anything just to have one more chance from her.

To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 456-As Long as You Like It He had said it very sincerely. Jenny had to admit that she was moved. She remembered all the good things he had done for her. She wouldn't forget them just because of a few lies.

"You should eat. It's late." Jenny didn't want to continue the topic.

Alec didn't move. He looked at Jenny pitifully and said, "I thought you would be home early, so I made food for two."

"What?" Now Jenny was really surprised.

"Yeah." Alec nodded. He was serious.

Jenny didn't know whether to laugh or cry. She didn't know what to say. It was unlike him.

"Well, since you made it, I'll have some of it." She wasn't hungry but didn't want to waste his good intentions. Besides, she couldn’t watch him starve. She'd never forgive herself.

She followed him into the house and realized the entire home had been refurbished. It was no longer pitch black like before; it was now warm and cozy.

Alec saw her looking around and said meekly, "You agreed to help me with the makeover before. But then…” He didn't have to finish his sentence. They broke up, and the matter was left hanging in the air. Alec had no choice but to get someone else to do his interior designs.

"That's great. It's definitely more professional than what I could have done. " His home looked much better than before.

Alec smiled at her words. ' As long as you like it."

Jenny was speechless. "It's not my home. Why would I have to like it?" she thought, but if she were to say that out loud, Alec would surely be even more disappointed.

Quite a few dishes were laid out on the dining table, and they were all Jenny's favorites. At once, warmth spread through her heart. She had no idea what to do with him. She had already made up her mind to cut off all ties with him, but now, the ache in her heart was swollen.

"Sit down and try it." Alec was oblivious to her inner turmoil. He was very happy.

Jenny didn't refuse. She looked at the food on the table. "What if I hadn't come back? What would you do?' "Why wouldn't you come back? Sooner or later, you would."

"It's just a matter of time," Alec thought.

Jenny looked at him, unable to describe the emotions in her heart. "Don't you think it's weird for you to act this way? You shouldn't be doing all this."

Jenny thought that Alec's affection for her had grown to something that was making her uncomfortable.

"No. I think it's great." Back then, he was stuck in the darkness, with no clear goal or motive to keep him going. But ever since he met Jenny, he found his target. He only wanted to be with her forever, so he didn't think that his gestures were over the top.

Jenny didn't share the same sentiment. She was worried about Alec's psychological health before, and now, she was even more worried about it. It seemed harmless, but excessive dependency was a sign of mental illness. But she dared not say anything in case she provoked him.

"Let's eat," she said. She was thinking of a good chance to bring him to the psychiatrist. But how would she convince him?

Jenny felt exasperated because of it.

"You should eat, too," Alec said, placing some food before her. "I know you've eaten already, but a simple tasting is fine, too."

Jenny nodded. Right now, she couldn't do anything that could incite his anger

To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 457-7 I Don’t Care Jenny didn't quite have an appetite for Alec's food. She wanted to speak, but she wasn't sure how. Then, she thought of Alfred. She asked cautiously, "Your father had been gone for so many years. Do you think that there's a possibility of him having another child?"

Alfred was not that much younger than Alec. Jenny suspected that if he really was Mortimer's child, that would mean that Mortimer and Max's mother was already entangled with each other before eloping. Maybe they eloped because they found out about the child. But, of course, it was all just speculation.

Alec's hands paused. He wasn't expecting that kind of question. "Why are you asking?’ "Nothing much. I was just wondering." She smiled, trying not to look suspicious.

With Alec's state of mind right now, she didn't dare to let Alec know of Alfred's existence. Otherwise, he'd be agitated.

Alec was quiet for a while. "It doesn't matter if he does. I don't care. It has nothing to do with me."

He didn't care about Mortimer, much less his child. Right now, he only cared about Jenny. He didn't know what was happening to him. He was just terribly afraid of losing her. He wished she could stay by his side forever, but he knew he couldn't do that-he'd only push her away. That was why he had to be patient and bear with it, even though it upset him.

Thankfully, the upset in his heart would dissipate when Jenny was within his sight.

"So you wouldn't care?" Jenny was surprised. She thought Alec would be angry.

"I don't care about anything except for you," he said.

Jenny paused, saying nothing.

Jenny was home, lying in bed, unable to fall asleep. Finally, she got up and scrolled through her contacts, calling an acquaintance currently abroad. He specialized in psychology. She met him when she was studying abroad, and once she learned he was also from Parrington Medical University, they grew close.

He picked up quickly, and Jenny told him about Alec's condition. She couldn't help feeling worried. "This is abnormal, isn't it?" She was asking for professional help because she couldn't be sure of it herself.

"Yes. It could be the effects of him losing his mother, which is why he is so afraid of losing you," he said.

Jenny bit her lip, not knowing what to say.

"He's in a critical situation. He's basically walking on a tightrope. The moment he's tipped over, he might do something irrational. You need to take him to a psychiatrist. It'll be harder to treat in the future.” Jenny's heart sank. She didn't expect Alec's condition to be so serious. She thought he was just afraid of the dark. But now…

"Thanks for the trouble,’ she said. "I'm not too familiar with this department. Do you know any trustworthy psychiatrists in Parrington?"

"I do. I'll send you her phone number."

The call soon ended, and Jenny got her number quickly. With Alec's position, she had to find someone trustworthy. News of it couldn't be spread.

To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 458-Alfred's Identity Jenny went to the venue bright and early on the day she had her free clinic appointment. There were mountains of people swarming in. She had to admire how clever the chairman was. Due to the plane incident, there were tons of people coming. They just had to know how many people were actually there for treatments.

Jenny didn't care about it since there was a triage before her. The people who got to her would definitely be people in need. She spent the entire day working.

Alec wasn't far off. His gaze rested on Jenny always, not leaving for even a moment.

Vincent sat in the driver's seat. He, too, felt that his president was paying a little too much attention to Jenny. "Mr. Faust, Miss Walter is safe," he said." You don't have to guard her every moment."

"How would you know? What if she gets in danger?" Alec said, his gaze still on Jenny.

Vincent smiled bitterly. It was broad daylight. How could there be danger lurking?

"You'd only pressure her, Mr. Faust." Vincent couldn't help saying it.

As expected, Alec shifted his gaze away. "But.J'm worried about her."

"I know you're doing it for her own good, but no one would be able to stand being watched 24/7."

Alec's face shifted. Could no one really stand it? He thought of what Jenny had said yesterday. He had to admit that Jenny was indeed annoyed by him. He sighed and rubbed his temples. "I don't know what's happening to me."

"Have you seen Dr. Hugh lately?" Vincent asked weakly. Alec had suddenly ordered him to find a therapist before, and Vincent was happy when it happened. He thought that Alec was finally thinking things through. But now it seemed that Dr. Hugh wasn't doing anything. Alec’s mental problems had not lessened. In fact, they seemed to have gotten worse.

Alec nodded. "I go every day, but it doesn't seem to work.’ Vincent thought so too, but he didn't say it out loud. He comforted Alec, saying, "Maybe it's just a phase. Illnesses get worse before they can get better."

Vincent regretted saying that. Illness? How could he say that Alec had an illness?

Thankfully, Alec didn't mind. He merely frowned, irritated. "Hopefully so." He was hoping that it was a sign of getting better, too. He didn't want things to remain like this forever.

He suddenly wanted to get a therapist because Jenny had mentioned his fear of the dark. Afterward, he thought it was time to face his fears, so he got Vincent to find him one. They said he was the best therapist in the country, but Alec thought his methods weren't really working. He could be wrong.

He pushed the topic away. "Have you found anything on Mortimer's end?"

Ever since Jenny suddenly asked if Mortimer and Max's mother had a child, Alec knew that the question came from somewhere. Something must have happened to make Jenny ask him that.

"Yes." Vincent handed him a document. "Mortimer has another son, indeed, n Alec was speechless. There was an illegitimate child, after all, and they hadn't even bothered to cover it up. He'd found it out very easily. He looked at Alfred's details, his gaze turning cold. "No wonder he'd come back to fight for Faust Group. He wanted to get his son a part of the lion's share."

Alec knew that there was something off about Mortimer suddenly coming back.

He seemed to want to change everything up, too. As it turned out, he had an ulterior motive.

To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 459-Do You Understand Your Mission?

"Mr. Faust, I also discovered that Alfred has joined Miss Walter's company, "

Vincent reported truthfully. He thought that it was odd and deserved Alec's attention.

At once, Alec's face darkened. It was no wonder that Jenny would ask him that question. She must have seen Alfred and noticed their similarities.

"Should we tell her? I worry that Alfred has bad intentions," Vincent said.

Alec nodded. 'Til tell her about it. Let's go to work."

Vincent said nothing else, driving the car toward Faust Group.

Meanwhile, in Bardoff City, Rowena Glass looked at the woman before her coldly. "Do you understand your mission?"

"Yes." The woman nodded. If Jenny were around, she would realize that this was the same woman who beat her up but didn't kill her the last time.

"Failure is not an option,’ Rowena said. She wouldn't let Jenny return to the Walters.

The woman said nothing and left the study room. She thought that Jenny was interesting, but it wouldn't stop her from claiming her life.

On the other side of Bardoff City, Natalia Cruz looked at her sickly grandfather on the bed with teary eyes. "You'll be alright, Grandpa.' "Don't cry. I'm not dead yet," he chided.

Natalia wiped her tears away. Then, she thought of something. "Grandpa, I know of a very talented neurosurgeon. We could try her out."

"Natalia, I am heavily ill. However, I'm glad that you care about me. We'll give her a try." Her grandfather didn't care about doctors. He only cared about his granddaughter.

Natalia smiled at once. ’Alright. I'll get her to come to Bardoff City to perform your surgery.' She left the room and walked out of the house, taking the earliest flight to Parrington.

The neurosurgeon she was talking about was, of course, Jenny. Because of her ties with Alec, she had researched Jenny before and learned about her skills.

Even though her grandfather was already treated by all the famous doctors in Bardoff City, Natalia still didn't give up. She would rather place all her hopes on Jenny.

The sky gradually darkened. Jenny, now done with her free clinic duties, returned home. Just like yesterday, Alec's door was ajar. She guessed that he had food prepared.

"He suddenly seems like a stay-at-home husband," she thought and nearly laughed out loud.

Alec got out of his home and saw Jenny's smile. "What made you this happy?"

"Nothing. It's just I think you're like a stay-at-home husband." Especially since Alec was wearing an apron.

Alec looked down at the apron and smiled, too. "I already am. Have you eaten?"

he asked, looking at her hopefully.

Jenny shook her head. "Would you be upset if I already ate?"

Alec smiled bitterly, not denying it. "Did you starve yourself so that I wouldn't feel upset?' "No way. I just got home. I didn't have the time to eat." Jenny refused to admit that he was right.

Alec didn't argue with her. He gestured for her to come in. "Well, let's eat.

I've already prepared everything." "I can't refuse you when you're being so generous," Jenny said, walking into his house.

To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 460-It's Best to Fire Him They ate at the dining table.

Jenny had to admit that Alec's cooking skills were improving. This meal tasted like one in a five-star restaurant.

"Is Alfred working in your company?" Alec suddenly asked.

Jenny was stunned. She looked at him in disbelief. "Do you know him?"

Alec nodded and told her about the investigation. "You mentioned him last night, so I told Vincent to do some digging. I didn't think that an illegitimate child would actually exist."

Jenny smiled awkwardly, not knowing what to say. She was only suspicious before, but now it was confirmed. "Why is he working at my company if he's your father's son?" she asked. It couldn't just be a coincidence.

Alec looked at her, evidently deep in thought. "I think he has ulterior motives. It's best to fire him." He would never be at ease with someone like Alfred by Jenny’s side.

"That's going to be hard. I just signed a contract with him. If I fire him now, I'll have to compensate him." Jenny smiled bitterly. She blamed herself for not doing a background check before hiring him.

Alec thought it was hilarious. "I'll pay."

"It's not about the money. It's about my pride." Alfred was the one with the ulterior motive. Why was she the one who would suffer losses?

"So what are you going to do? Are you going to let him work at your company?"

Alec was upset, but he didn't show it. He knew that Jenny had her own ideas.

She didn't like anyone making decisions for her.

Jenny was not going to deceive him. She nodded. "Based on his resume, he's a genius. As long as he doesn't sabotage the company, I could care less about whose son he is."

Alec couldn't tell if she was joking. "What if…what if his goal has nothing to do with the company but with you?" he asked. He thought it was a great possibility.

Jenny had not considered that. She thought about it and said nonchalantly, "That's even less of an issue. He can't beat me. I'd never lose."

Alec smiled bitterly. What if Alfred didn't mean to beat her but had another goal in mind?

He didn't say much, however. "You can make the decisions. You can call me if anything goes wrong."

Alfred was not doing much for now, so Alec couldn't attack him for no reason.

Who knew what Alfred would do if he was backed into a corner?

Alec's men would keep an eye on him. He would not be given a chance to hurt Jenny.

"Alec." Jenny suddenly called him.

Alec looked at her. "What?"

"Do you remember what I said about your fear of the dark? That it's a psychological issue?” She didn't want to tell him about his recent condition, instead mentioning his fear of the dark.

Alec nodded gravely. "What's up?"

"I have a friend who's an expert in this. If you have the time, I'd like to take you for a visit," she said carefully, afraid of angering him.

To her surprise, Alec was not angered by her words. He smiled and said," That won't be necessary. I already have a therapist."

Jenny was dazed. "A therapist?"

"Yeah. Vincent found one for me. He's famous in the country. I'm already receiving treatment," he said.
