Chapter 2641

Drunk

“Come, Caspian! Here’s to you!” Jasper held up a beer and toasted.

“Come, Jasper! I toast you for your fighting spirit!”

As the two of them were savoring the moment, they seemed to totally forget the existence of Jessica.

“Now you can talk. Tell me why they fought,” Larry asked Jessica.

“Because of me.” Jessica gazed at him, with misery written all over her face.

“So Jasper likes you?” Larry got straight to the point.

Jessica did not answer but nodded her head.

“You are an attractive woman.” Larry let out a smile.

Larry’s sudden change of mood left Jessica befuddled for a while.

“Don’t worry. It’s all fine now. Look at them. I am sure they will become good friends in the future,” Larry

said while eating from his plate.

It was beyond obvious that Caspian and Jasper were both similar loyal types with upholding justice. As

the saying goes, the same feathers flock together.

“Come, one more toast!” Caspian shouted in excitement.

“Caspian, I didn’t expect you’re such a strong drinker!” Jasper patted Caspian’s arms strongly.

“Larry, do you think I’m a bad person?” Jessica uttered softly.

“Nope. Not at all.” Larry shook his head without hesitating.

In the end, as expected, Caspian and Jasper were drunk.

“Alright. You deal with him properly tomorrow. See you then.” Larry sent Caspian and Jessica back to

their house and left at once.

Staring at Caspian, who was lying on the bed, a dark expression loomed over Jessica’s face. She was

uncertain if she should be happy or sad at the moment.

The next morning, sunlight shone through the windows, filling the room with warmth. Caspian rolled

over on the bed, trying to hug his woman, but only to notice no one beside him.

What? Where has she gone to? Caspian rubbed his eyes and scanned the room.

“Jessica?” he called out softly.

To his puzzlement, there was no trace of her anywhere.

“Jessica? I am awake.” He started to raise his voice.

He looked through all the places urgently but was left disappointed.

Where the h*ll did she go? Without wasting time, he took up his phone and called Jessica.

“Sorry, the number you have dialed is unavailable…”

Deep down, Caspian started feeling a sense of unease.

Without hesitation, he changed his clothes and headed out.

He stopped by all the hotels nearby and made sure Jessica was not in any of them.

With that, he began to panic.

Don’t tell me that Jasper kidnapped her. The scene of their fight from the previous day instantly taunted

his mind.

That’s hardly possible! I doubt Jasper would pull out something so despicable! He shook his head

forcefully, trying hard to clear his thought.

Ring… Ring… Ring…

Just then, his phone rang.

“Caspian, please go and buy your own breakfast ya. I won’t be back so soon.” Jessica’s tone sounded

sleepy.

“Where are you?” Caspian asked nervously.

“I’m with Larry. Don’t worry.” Upon saying that, Jessica hung up the phone.

Larry was the one who sent Caspian back the previous night. According to their deal, Jessica would

need to work for Larry for a week.

“Larry, it’s not that I want to mention, but aren’t you going to pay me since I work for you so diligently?”

Jessica complained while busy with her work.

“I thought you were voluntary,” Larry replied while he continued to type on his keyboard.

Indeed, I volunteered for this. But the point is, if I didn’t, there would be no one to send Caspian back

home! How was I supposed to move him all by myself?

Thud!

Out of a sudden, someone kicked the door open forcefully.

“Jessica!” Caspian shouted.

“What are you doing? Are you out of your mind?” Jessica was shocked to see Caspian.

“Obviously he misses you,” Larry replied curtly.

“You scared me to death. I thought something bad happened to you.” Caspian rushed over and hugged

Jessica tightly.

Chapter 2642

Barged In

“Okay, that’s enough. No public display of affection allowed in the workplace. Or else you will be fired.”

Larry did not turn his face.

“Larry, please fire me then.” Jessica joked without any embarrassment.

“Except you!” Larry changed his mind swiftly.

Back in the hotel room, Jasper was still sleeping soundly on his bed, without any awareness of the

time.

“Uh…” He finally opened his eyes and gave a big stretch.

He stood up and pulled the curtain open, but he closed them back the moment unexpected sunlight

pierced through his eyes.

Why am I in a hotel? Jasper frowned in confusion looking at his surroundings.

“Good morning, sir. Your breakfast is here.” Just then, a server knocked at the door.

“Who sent me here?” Jasper questioned as soon as he opened the door.

“I am sorry, sir. I am just here to send the breakfast.” Upon saying, the server left before Jasper could

respond.

What’s with that attitude? Jasper shut the door angrily and started gobbling up the breakfast.

Wait, where is Caspian? Where has he gone to? With that, Jasper’s face lit up with slight joy, as he did

not expect that he would meet such an honorable man like Caspian.

After Jasper has done packing his stuff, he left the hotel at once.

He did not go home and did not head to the nightclub. Instead, he drove towards Norton Corporation.

“I am sorry, sir. But no one can see Mr. Norton without an appointment.” As expected, he was blocked

at the receptionist counter.

“I don’t need an appointment. I just had a wonderful time drinking together with your boss yesterday!

Let me in…” Jasper did not care about any proper protocol of the company.

“Sir, please stop! I will be fired if I let you in!” The receptionist begged desperately.

At once, Jasper turned silent as his mind pondered for an alternative for such a situation.

“Then please make a call to Larry. Tell him that Jasper is here for him.”

“Okay!” Seeing that Jasper was willing to cooperate, the receptionist dialed on the landline in relief.

“Mr. Norton, there is a man named Jasper who insists on seeing you.” The receptionist’s voice started

to tremble when Larry picked up the call.

Needless to say, it was utterly uncommon for someone to barge in and demand to meet the head of the

company, especially not someone who dressed like Jasper.

“Let him in.” Larry left a sentence and hung up.

The receptionist was left at a complete loss with this.

Who exactly is this man?

“Sir… Mr. Norton asks you to go in.” The receptionist then changed her attitude and invited Jasper in.

With a bright mood, Jasper tidied up his outfit and stepped inside.

“Hello, old friend! We meet again!” Jasper’s loud manly voice echoed through the whole office as he

walked in.

All the colleagues on the spot were stunned by this rare visitor.

“Since when does Mr. Norton make friends with such people?”

“I have no idea. Look at him. I bet he’s some gangster.”

The next moment, gossip naturally started to spread among some colleagues in the pantry.

“Why are you here?” Larry asked as soon as he saw Jasper.

“I come to visit you, and Jessica, and Caspian,” Jasper answered.

Is it truly that simple? Larry examined the man in front of him and let out a smile.

“Get to the point if you have anything important. I’m really busy and don’t have time to entertain

anyone,” Larry continued.

“There’s no need to entertain me! I just wanted to ask. Larry, do you still have any vacancy for… say, a

bodyguard?” Jasper walked towards him and asked in a low voice.

“Nope, we don’t!” Before Larry could answer, Jessica’s voice appeared from behind.

Hearing Jessica’s voice, a trace of shyness appeared on that masculine face of Jasper.

“Indeed, we don’t have any vacancy for the bodyguard, but we do lack some security guards.” Later,

Larry replied while reading through some documents.

“Security guards work for me!” Jasper responded happily. “And I still have a lot of friends…”

“Ask all of them to come here then,” Larry said calmly.

At that instant, everyone on the spot was stunned and left speechless.

Chapter 2643

New Employment

Is Larry kidding? I’m not dreaming, am I? Jasper immediately gave himself a slap in the face.

“Larry, are you serious with what you said?” Jasper could not suppress his excitement.

“Of course. I mean it,” Larry answered nonchalantly.

The most confused person was none other than Caspian, who was standing at the corner. Not only

could he not comprehend Larry’s harsh decision, but he was confused at the motive Jasper came to

their company.

“Should I go and contact my friends then?” Jasper asked, still in slight disbelief of this good news.

“Go ahead,” Larry replied curtly.

The second Jasper stepped out of the company, Caspian and Jessica could no longer hold back their

curiosity.

“Larry, are you alright? How could you let them work here?”

“Exactly. Larry, are you having a fever or something?” Jessica reached out her hand to touch Larry’s

forehead.

“Go away!” Larry brushed her hand away in frustration.

“I know you guys don’t like Jasper at all. But we have to admit that he is indeed a rare talent!” Larry

started to explain.

Jessica burst into laughter upon hearing that.

Which part of that man could be considered as a talent?

“Larry, are you planning to replace me?” Caspian suddenly asked with caution.

Larry already expected this question from him, so of course, he was fully prepared to react.

“Caspian, you are my brother. You know that I won’t leave you no matter what happens. But maybe you

should spend some time off, perhaps go on a vacation with Jessica…” Larry said in a low voice.

Caspian came to realize instantly that Larry was concerned about him. That was why he was trying to

find an extra hand. If that was the case, there was nothing he could be angry about.

In fact, this had been a real issue for Larry. If one day Caspian were to get married to Jessica, they

would surely go for a honeymoon. If Larry did not hire someone else, all their works would be forced to

be left unattended.

“Thank you, Larry. I understand now,” Caspian replied gratefully.

“What are you thanking him for? What about me? Won’t it be awkward if I have to work with Jasper?”

Jessica, however, had a totally different stand.

“What’s so awkward? Jasper has already let you go.” Larry resumed his work on his desk.

Really? Since when? Jessica ran over to Larry’s side and began showing good gestures by massaging

his shoulder.

“Larry, what did you find out?” Jessica questioned softly.

“Didn’t you notice? Yesterday he had become so close with Caspian. I’m sure that he won’t want to

lose their friendship for a woman,” Larry answered directly.

“Larry!” Jessica responded in a clipped tone.

In an instant, the pen in Larry’s hand dropped on the desk.

“Do you mean that I’m not that attractive?” Jessica crossed her arms while staring at Larry.

Larry did not say a word, but only nodded slightly.

“Argh!” Her scream echoed in the office.

“Caspian, tell me! Am I attractive or not?” Jessica ran over to Caspian and asked in dismay.

“Of course you are. You are the most attractive woman I’ve ever met.” Caspian patted gently on her

back to comfort her.

Only Caspian will spoil her like this. Larry shook his head and let out a sigh.

In fact, Jessica would not behave like this at all at her own bookstore. But when she was with Larry and

Caspian, she subconsciously turned into a little girl. Even she could not figure why but she never cared

about her own image in front of them.

“Ain’t I cute?” Jessica burrowed deeper into Caspian’s hug.

“Yes, you are the cutest,” Caspian responded at once.

“Then take me somewhere nice.” Jessica continued to coax.

“Let’s go. Anything for you.”

Upon saying that, the two of them left the office.

It’s nice to see them like this. Larry stared at that romantic couple, and let out a glance of gratification

mixed with slight envy.

Chapter 2644

Threatening Call

I wonder what’s Joan doing at the moment? Larry turned to look out the windows with a sorrowful glint

in his eyes.

On the other hand, the massive development of M Group had recently caught the attention of all major

companies. Everyone was starting to generate a fear towards Jake and worried about their assets

being taken over instantly.

“How’s it going?” At another office, Jake was questioning his assistant.

“It is almost done. Don’t worry,” The assistant responded steadfastly.

Great! I can’t wait to see how Larry would react to this incident! Jake’s hand clenched into a fist by his

side, his gaze growing sharp.

All of these happen thanks to you, Joan!

“However, Mr. Wilson, are you sure you gonna do it? Someone from the board of directors has

already…” The assistant choked on her words.

“Just ignore them and do as I say!” Jake was not interested at all in what the assistant had in mind.

The assistant stared helplessly at Jake and left the office.

Meanwhile, in the photography studio, everybody was bustling about, including Joan.

“Joan, you should take a break.” Abigail came and said.

“Alright. I’m almost done.” Joan rubbed her forehead.

Abigail was somehow heartbroken looking at the exhausted Joan.

Since Faye passed away, Joan had not hired any new assistant.

“Joan, what if I try to find another assistant for you? What do you think?” Abigail voiced out her

suggestion carefully.

For an instant, Joan’s pen paused.

“I don’t need it,” she answered.

“But look at you. You’re overworking every day. We’re worried to see you like this.”

“I’m fine. You don’t have to worry. I’m well aware of my own body.”

She’s so stubborn! Moments later, Abigail walked out of the office helplessly, somehow infuriated.

“How was it? Did she agree?” One of the colleagues asked.

Abigail shook her head sadly.

“Whatever. Let’s just forget it!”

Back in the office, Joan was gazing at the sky outside, with her eyes seemed slightly decadent.

Faye, how have you been? Instantly, her eyes started brimming with tears.

If I didn’t ask you to send those documents, all these would not have happened!

Joan raised her head and looked at the ceiling above, trying to hold back the tears in her eyes.

Just then, her phone rang. It’s Jake!

“Have you decided?” Jake retorted on the phone.

Decide about what? For a moment, Joan was confounded by what Jake meant.

“Did you forget about it so fast?” Jake urged in a low voice.

“Jake, what exactly do you want?” Joan tried to collect herself.

“Spend a night with me, then I will let go of all the grudges between us,” he responded playfully.

Joan suddenly recalled the reason she visited him last time.

“Not in a million years!” she answered resolutely.

“Don’t make a conclusion so soon. I bet you’ll agree eventually.”

Upon hearing that, a vague uneasiness slowly crept up of Joan. She feared if anything unexpected

would happen, that was beyond her control.

“What’s wrong? Are you okay?” Larry wrapped his arms around her shoulder gently.

“I’m fine.” Joan assured him.

Larry knew she had something on her mind as it was written all over her face. He could not help feeling

confused and complicated.

“Alright, it’s late. Go to bed.” A short moment later, Larry stroked her back gently.

“How about you? Aren’t you going to sleep?”

“I still got some unfinished work,” he replied.

He’s so busy, as always. In fact, she was still learning to adapt.

“Larry!” Before Joan walked into the bedroom, she suddenly turned and called out to him.

“What is it?”

“Um, how is Norton Corporation lately?” she asked.

Chapter 2645

Time To Let Go

“Quite fine,” Larry responded with a cool smile.

Upon seeing his smile, Joan heaved a sigh of relief.

She was deeply concerned that Jake would make a move on Norton Corporation. Larry had poured his

blood and sweat into Norton Corporation. Thus she could not bear to see anything happen to it.

The next morning, Joan was wakened up by the warm sunlight that slipped through the curtain in her

room. The sun seemed to rise earlier than any other day.

“Uh…” She extended her arms into a stretch and let out a big yawn before gradually opening her eyes.

The moment she stepped into the living room, she felt slightly peculiar as no one was there.

“Ms. Young?” She gently called out but was responded with dead silence.

Where has Ms. Young gone to? Joan stared at the clock on the wall with a confused look.

She can’t be in the garden at this time, can she? She immediately walked out and scanned through the

garden but failed to detect any figure.

Walking back to the bedroom, she nervously snatched up her phone and called Delilah.

Delilah picked up within seconds.

“Ms. Young, where are you?” Joan was slightly relieved that the call went through.

“I’m outside. Why?” Delilah replied softly.

“Who is it?”

A stranger’s voice came from that end of the phone.

In an instant, Joan came to a realization.

“It’s nothing. You guys have fun.” Upon saying, she hung up at once.

So she’s going on a date! It seems like she not going to be single for long!

A satisfied smile tugged at Joan’s lips, and her eyes beamed with excitement.

“Joan.”

While she was tidying in the living room getting ready to go to work, a familiar voice appeared

suddenly.

What is he doing here? Joan opened the door and stared at the person in front of her in total disbelief.

“How are you lately?” Dustin asked with a low voice.

“I’m great,” Joan replied calmly. “What brings you here?”

“Nothing. I just felt like seeing you,” he replied.

He had been trying hard to forget about Joan, but all efforts seemed to be without avail. No matter how

long it had passed, his feelings towards her were unwilling to fade.

“If there is nothing important, you can leave.” Joan continued to pack her stuff.

Joan was careful not to have too much entanglement with this man. Regardless of the present or the

future, she was convinced there would be no possibility between her and Dustin.

Not to mention, Dustin was a friend of Abelyn.

Indeed, Joan knew about all the scheming conducted by Abelyn earlier, and she was aware that Dustin

had taken no action to stop Abelyn’s deed.

“Joan, I wanted to apologize about Abelyn. She did all that for me, even though her approach might be

a little extreme. I hope you won’t mind…” Dustin explained while getting closer to her.

“It’s all in the past, so stop bringing it up. You should leave.” She tried to end the conversation.

I could not be franker about this. Would you please stop being such a slow-witted man?

“Joan, I know that you hate me. But I wish you could believe me that I have never intended to harm

you!” Dustin raised his tone out of a sudden.

Joan was certain that Dustin would not harm her, but she could not forgive that he allowed others to do

so.

“How many times do you want me to repeat? I don’t want to see you anymore! Leave now!” Joan

began to lose her calmness.

Dustin felt a knife stab through his heart, looking at the woman he loved screaming at him.

I have loved her for so many years. Forget it! I guess it’s really time to let go.

Dustin had no choice but to head out of the house.

Joan realized she had overreacted, but she could not suppress the rage and hatred within her heart.

She could endure all kinds of betrayal, but she could never tolerate the betrayer trying to befriend her

again.

Chapter 2646

Are You Alright

Joan didn’t even have breakfast and headed straight to the photography studio.

“What’s wrong with her? She seems unhappy today.”

“I don’t know. Did she quarrel with someone?”

“Should we go comfort her?”

In the pantry of the photography studio, the staff gossiped about Joan as she sat brooding in her office.

Right now, Joan seemed to be hard at work, but the phone conversation between her and Jake kept

replaying in her mind.

What is Jake up to? She clenched her fists and pondered.

“Are you alright, Joan?” Abigail came in and asked.

Joan waved her hands in response. “I’m fine.”

“Oh. If you need my help, just let me know.” Abigail left after saying that.

After Joan refused to hire another assistant, Abigail indirectly took over the duties and became her

assistant.

Joan was trying to figure out how to stop Jake from annoying her while massaging her temples.

Do I have to spend a night with him?

No! I can’t do that.

Meanwhile, Jake was heading to his office with his briefcase in hand.

“Did anyone call me today?”

“No,” replied his assistant.

Mm? Joan is that calm, huh? Well, she’s smart enough. He chuckled and entered his office.

“Mr. Wilson, please take a look at proposals for the upcoming projects.” His assistant proceeded to

hand him a few files.

This was exactly the outcome Jake was hoping for.

He had successfully expanded M Group’s business abroad in the shortest time possible. Jake poured

himself a glass of wine and finished it in one gulp.

“Has anyone requested to see me recently?” he asked.

“No,” said his assistant.

Meanwhile, Larry received a call from Della. “Larry, help! Save me!” she yelled once he answered her

call.

Larry’s heart jumped to his throat upon hearing her cry for help.

“Della, what happened?” he demanded.

“Larry? President of Norton Corporation?” an unfamiliar male voice rang out.

“What do you want?” Larry growled.

“Ms. Duff isn’t an ordinary person. Prepare one million as ransom!” the man barked out and hung up.

Della has been kidnapped? Larry stared at his phone silently. He was about to call the cops when his

phone rang again.

“Don’t call the cops, or I’ll kill her now.”

It was clear what the kidnappers meant. Larry couldn’t understand why Della was kidnapped not long

after she returned to the country. She hadn’t offended anyone locally. Besides, she was well protected

by her bodyguards.

Something told Larry that it wasn’t as simple as it seemed.

Larry paced in his office and racked his brains for a solution, but he couldn’t figure out another way

except to head there himself and pay ransom to the kidnapper to prevent Della from getting hurt.

“Larry!” Caspian barged in.

He stopped in confusion when he saw how troubled Larry was.

“Larry, what’s wrong? Did something happen?” he asked worriedly.

“Mm. Della has been kidnapped,” answered Larry.

Caspian was astounded.

Everyone knew how capable Della was. Clearly, her kidnapper must be someone not to be

underestimated.

He immediately offered his help. “What should I do?”

“I’m thinking of a solution right now,” Larry replied, seemingly troubled.

Chapter 2647

Why Was She Kidnapped

Larry was clearly stumped.

“Larry, why was she kidnapped? Does he want money? Or something else?” Caspian queried.

“He requested for one million,” said Larry solemnly.

However, he couldn’t be sure if all they wanted was money.

It would be easy to sort things out if this was just a mere kidnapping incident. However, if it was more

than that, things would get complicated.

Meanwhile, in a dark warehouse, Della could hear the rain dripping steadily onto the ground as her

heart clenched in fear.

There were three men standing in front of her. “What do you want?” she demanded in a trembling

voice.

She had never endured such sufferings, ever.

“Ms. Duff, we invited you here to have some tea with us. Don’t be nervous. Be good, alright?” A man

stepped forward and ruffled her hair.

“Don’t touch me!” she turned away and screamed.

Slap!

A slap landed on Della’s face, causing her cheek to flare up immediately.

The kidnapper barked out, “You like Larry Norton, right? What a pity he is married!”

He added, “Why don’t you become my woman? You shall lead a wealthy life. Oh, I can also lead a

wealthy life thanks to you,” the kidnapper uttered and caressed her jaw in a lecherous manner.

Della spat without hesitation as her gaze grew cold. “Dream on!”

“Know your place! I call the shots here!” the kidnapper patted his chest and declared arrogantly.

There were three of them, and he was their leader.

“Why did you kidnap me?” Della went straight to the point.

She wasn’t that foolish to believe that they kidnapped her for money. There were plenty of rich people

in the world, but only a selected few were both rich and influential. The kidnappers must have a reason

to risk their lives to abduct her.

“What else? We’re doing this for money, of course,” answered the kidnappers’ leader.

“Who ordered you to do that?” she pressed on.

The leader was stunned.

How did she know someone is behind this?

“You should mine your own business and stop asking around! If you don’t want to die, shut up!” he

retorted furiously.

Ha! It’s indeed a plot against me! Della struggled to realize her hands were tied up.

“Stop wasting your energy and wait for your Mr. Norton to come save you.”

Damn it! They are worse than beasts!

Meanwhile, Larry was gathering one million to save Della.

He could afford to pay the ransom easily. Right now, Della’s life was at stake.

“Larry, are you sure it’s alright for you to go alone?” Caspian expressed his concern.

Caspian was worried that Larry’s efforts would be in vain.

“Remember what I told you, Caspian. Run in with your men after hearing that and make sure you save

Della. She represents her family and the development of an era.”

Larry wasn’t exaggerating. Indeed, Della’s influence was incomparable overseas. Her self-established

brand and projects she handled were all successful.

Furthermore, she was an influential person locally, too.

“I’m afraid you’ll be in danger—”

Larry cut in firmly, “Don’t you worry. I’ll be fine.”

Hopefully, their plan would work.

In the end, Larry entered his car with the one million he prepared while Caspian followed behind with

his men.

Chapter 2648

Larry Or Jessica

Suddenly, Caspian’s phone rang.

“Where are you?” the woman on the other end of line drawled lazily.

“I’m outside. What’s the matter?” he asked.

“Can you come pick me up?” Jessica requested. “I think I’m drunk.”

Caspian’s eyes darkened in fury.

Why did she go drinking again? Didn’t I tell her not to drink outside?

“I’m busy. Hail a cab home yourself,” he replied curtly and was about to hang up.

“Wait!” Jessica seemed distressed. “Hurry, come pick me up. I think someone spiked my drink.”

Caspian was astounded to hear that.

He had to choose between Larry, his boss, and Jessica, his beloved. What would his choice be?

“Caspian, why are you hesitating? Damn it, come pick me up now! Otherwise, I shall cheat on you!”

Jessica declared while scratching her collarbone impatiently.

“I’ll ask Jasper to pick you up!” he hung up abruptly and proceeded to call Jasper.

“Hey, can you bring Jessica home? She’s drunk…”

Soon, Larry arrived at the designated location. “Hey, come out! I’m Larry Norton!” he yelled outside the

warehouse while scanning his surroundings carefully.

The men in the warehouse put their guard up when they heard his voice.

“Boss, Mr. Norton is here,” one of the young kidnappers whispered.

“I heard him. Let’s stay put.”

Della wanted to yell out loud to attract Larry’s attention, but her mouth was sealed.

As no one responded, Larry grew increasingly anxious.

Did I come to the wrong location? He pulled his phone out and gave them a call.

Ring! Ring!

He immediately detected the ringtone coming from a nearby warehouse.

“Damn it!” the kidnapper cursed and switched his phone off.

Larry had a sharp hearing and immediately realized where it came from.

“I’m here, so why are you hesitating? Don’t you want the one million?” he shouted in the direction of the

warehouse.

What a sly fox. Is he trying to lure us out? The leader was smoking as panic flitted across his face.

“Boss, we need to go out now. Otherwise, our efforts would be in vain!” The other young man shoved

his arm.

“I know. Stop pushing me!” The leader rose to his feet and stepped out of the dilapidated warehouse.

“Hello, Mr. Norton. How have you been?”

Upon spotting the kidnappers, Larry’s lips curved up in a satisfied smirk.

I thought they are difficult to deal with, but turns out they are just thugs.

“Here is one million. Before you take it, release her first,” Larry cut to the chase.

He made his intentions clear for he was here to rescue Della.

“There’s no rush, Mr. Norton. You’re a wealthy businessman, so one million is nothing to you. But Ms.

Duff is worth more than you,” the kidnapper said.

What does he mean? Is he trying to raise the price shamelessly? Larry studied the person in front of

him warily.

“I don’t want much. Why don’t you give your car to me?”

He’s so greedy! Larry turned to look at his car before he nodded reluctantly.

“Alright, it’s a deal. My men would like to get in the car first!”

“Sure, no problem.” Larry shrugged nonchalantly.

Soon, two men walked out of the warehouse.

“Boss,” the young man greeted his leader.

“Get in the car!” the leader ordered, pointing at Larry’s car parked ahead.

“Wait a minute!” Larry called out.

The three kidnappers froze in their tracks at once.

Chapter 2649

What Is In Your Sack

“What is in your sack?” Larry asked, his hand pointing to the sack on the young man’s back.

“Our food. You want to take a look?” the young man returned.

“Of course,” Larry answered.

“Alright, I’ll show you!” the young kidnapper untied his sack.

Before he could show it to Larry, a disgusting stench wafted out of the sack.

“Enough! You can leave!” Larry immediately stopped him.

The young kidnapper winked at his boss before walking away.

Larry continued, “I want to see her before I pay you the ransom.”

“No problem!” The kidnapper proceeded to push the door to the warehouse open.

“Look, that’s the woman you want.”

Inside the warehouse, a woman was tied to a chair. Her head was hung low, and her hair covered her

face completely. She had her back to Larry.

“I want to see her face,” Larry demanded.

“Go over to her and you’ll see her face clearly.”

Larry walked slowly toward the woman and placed the briefcase he was holding on the ground. He held

the woman’s hair up so he could get a good look at her.

She should be terrified, I guess. Larry appeared troubled.

“Take your time. I’ll take my leave now!” The kidnapper grabbed the briefcase Larry left on the ground

and dashed out.

“Della, wake up!” Larry gathered her hair together and urged.

“Let’s go!” yelled the kidnapper’s leader once he left the warehouse.

“Caspian!” Larry’s voice rang out inside the warehouse.

Yes, the kidnapper had lied to him. That woman on the chair wasn’t Della!

His roar pierced the air.

“Go get them!” Caspian ordered his men.

Soon, Larry’s car was surrounded.

“Boss, what is going on?” the young kidnapper asked.

His leader answered at once, “I have no idea.”

I thought I asked Larry to come alone! Where did these men come from?

“Come down!” Caspian stood outside Larry’s vehicle and barked menacingly.

In the end, the three kidnappers came down from the vehicle reluctantly.

“How dare you target Mr. Norton?” Caspian snarled. “Tell me. Who ordered you to do this?”

“Sir, please spare my life. I was greedy for money.” The leader flung his arms around his head and

groveled at Caspian’s feet.

“Where is Della? Where did you hide her?” Larry ran out of the warehouse and demanded.

“She’s in that sack.” The young kidnapper pointed at the sack in the car.

Shit, is she dead? Larry dashed toward his car and dragged the sack down.

Indeed, there was an unconscious woman underneath the pile of rotten vegetables.

Larry was suddenly filled with guilt.

“How will you deal with them, Larry?” Caspian sought for his opinion.

“Let’s head back first,” Larry answered as he helped Della out of the sack.

If it wasn’t for him, Della wouldn’t get kidnapped. At that thought, Larry felt slightly upset.

“Larry, are you alright?” asked Caspian in a low voice.

“I’m fine. Quick, let’s go to the hospital.”

Throughout the journey, Larry kept patting Della’s cheek to rouse her up.

How shall I explain to her family if anything happens to her?

Soon, their car arrived at the hospital.

“Doctor, please save her!” Larry rushed in with Della in his arms.

The doctor hurried over after hearing his yells.

“Mr. Norton, don’t worry. Ms. Duff will be alright,” the director of the hospital was alerted and

immediately came to comfort him.

Chapter 2650

She Is Fine

They’d better pray she’s fine. Otherwise, I won’t let them off easily, Larry decided as he began exuding

a murderous intent.

“Doctor, how is she?” he grabbed the doctor’s arm and pressed.

“She’s fine. She just needs to rest,” the doctor responded before he left.

Luckily, she’s fine. Larry heaved a sigh of relief, his expression relaxing.

The pale and unconscious Della was hooked to an IV drip in her ward.

“Larry, why don’t you head back home? I’ll stay with Ms. Duff,” offered Caspian.

Larry dismissed him with a wave. “I’m fine,” came his curt reply.

Caspian was worried something else might happen after this.

“Larry, Joan is waiting for you at home,” he reminded Larry.

It suddenly occurred to Caspian that Larry’s concern for Della was too much.

“It’s alright,” replied Larry.

Since Larry obviously wasn’t going to heed his advice, Caspian stopped trying to persuade him.

“Larry, I’ve got to go now!” Caspian dashed away without looking back.

Why is he in such a hurry? Larry gazed at Caspian’s retreating figure curiously.

Meanwhile, Caspian was running as he made a call.

He had just recalled about Jessica getting drunk earlier.

Jasper was now his friend, and he had also agreed to work under Larry, but that didn’t change the fact

that he used to be in love with Jessica. Caspian was afraid he might take advantage of Jessica as she

was intoxicated.

“Hello?”

Jessica sounded tipsy even over the phone.

“Who is it?” another man’s voice rang out clearly.

Yes, they were Jessica and Jasper.

Wait, Jessica told me her drink was spiked!

All at once, Caspian was dumbfounded.

“Jessica, where are you?” he yelled at the top of his lungs.

“Drinking, duh,” came Jessica’s inebriated reply.

Caspian pressed on, “Where are you now?”

“At home. It’s really hot here,” she declared as she took her clothes off.

Jasper was shouting from a distance away. “Hey, Jessica. Don’t do this! You can’t do this!”

Shit, this is bad.

“Jasper, you can’t touch Jessica! She’s mine!” Caspian roared through the phone.

Jessica was still moaning. “It’s really hot. Come on, I’m too tired. Give me a massage…”

“Please, I still want to be friends with Caspian,” Jasper was pleading.

Caspian’s fury sprang to life at once.

“When will you arrive, Caspian? I can’t hold on much longer?” Jasper was shrieking, seemingly out of

sorts.

They were both drunk, but luckily, Jasper wasn’t drugged.

“Jasper, if you lay a finger on her, I’ll make you a eunuch!” Caspian threatened viciously.

“This isn’t something I can control!”

“Hey, help me scratch this itchy spot.” Jessica plopped into Jasper’s lap and ran her hands all over his

chest.

Jasper tamped down his desire and gritted his teeth lest he did anything overboard.

“Caspian, if you don’t come back home now, I can’t guarantee my actions,” he huffed.

To make things worse, Jessica started moaning without warning.

Even though Caspian wasn’t there, he could imagine what it was like.

He ran a few red lights without hesitation. As he was driving Larry’s car, he wasn’t afraid the traffic

police might come after him.

It did not take long for them to arrive at his house.

Thump!

Caspian kicked the door open and rushed in.

“Ah! You’re finally here!” Jasper was wailing desperately.
