He was worried that Abelyn would send her men after him as soon as he uttered those two words.

"Larry, do you want us to subdue them?" Caspian asked Larry at the hotel entrance.
"There's no need!" Larry answered tersely as he had full faith in Joan and her decision.
Not to mention, he was adamant that those men wouldn't dare to obfuscate the current situation
anyway.
"Joan, are you okay?" Jessica rushed into the room and gave Joan a tight embrace.
"Tell Larry to spare those people; Joan instructed as she pushed Jessica off.What's happening?
Shouldn't she be afraid?Shouldn't she be terrified?Why would she care about the people who abducted
her? Jessica was rather perplexed by Joan's behavior.
Don’t tell me she hit her head during the abduction.
"Joan, are you really okay? Did they hurt you? Don't worry, Larry will punish them for what they did to
you." Jessica held tightly onto Joan's arm.
What?Didn't she hear what I said earlier?
"Don't worry.I didn't send my men after them; Larry assured her as he entered the room.Upon hearing
his statement, the vise that had been gripping Joan's chest finally loosened a little.
"Are you okay?"
Larry walked up to Joan and caressed her face.
Seeing as such, Caspian quickly dragged Jessica out of the room with him to give Larry and Joan
some space.
"Did you know how flurried I was when I heard that you were abducted?" Larry embraced Joan.
He was relieved to see that Joan was fine.
Touched by his words, Joan thought of officially entering a relationship with Larry in the spur of the
moment.It's time for me to face both him and myself truthfully.
"Joan!"
Suddenly, Abelyn dashed into the room.
"Why are you here?"
Larry deliberately queried as he was glaring at Abelyn.
No one to/d her that Joan would be here.
My plan was also not mentioned to her.

"I...I came here to visit Joan.I'm worried about her"
Abelyn stuttered a bit as she said that.
Feeling the awkwardness in the air, Joan let go of Larry's hand and walked toward Abelyn before
uttering, "Abelyn is just worried about me.Why are you acting so grim?"
Worried?For what?Worried that Joan wasn't dead?0r was she worried that her men was caught? Larry
gave Abelyn a minatory look.
Gazing at Abelyn's eyes, Joan was disappointed as she recalled the men who abducted mentioned
something about a woman called Ms.Chipman.
That being said, she couldn't fathom why Abelyn would want to hurt her.
After chatting for a while, they all went outside.
"What did you say? Joan was abducted?" Jake yelled out incredulously in his office.
He was surprised to hear such big news right after he came back.
"Did you find the person who did it?" Jake immediately queried.
Since he had a crush on Joan before, he naturally didn't want to see her get hurt.
"No, I heard they ran away; answered Ted, with his head lowered.Huh? Larry let them run away just
like that?The Larry I know wouldn't have done this!Maybe Della’s the one behind this? Without a
second thought, Jake took his jacket and head out of the office.
At the restaurant, Jake was sitting on the sofa in the corner while sipping on his coffee.
He seemed rather relaxed and nonchalant.
After a while, Della came to his seat.
"Did you ask for me?" Della sat down with a contemptuous look on her face.

"Were you the one behind Joan's abduction?" Jake directly asked her.
Since Della knew beforehand that Jake would ask her about Joan, she was mentally prepared for his
question.
"No!" She answered confidently.
Although I may have spurred Abelyn into hurting Joan, I'm not the one who actually hurt Joan.
Why should I take the blame? Jake stared intently at Della.
if it wasn't her then who else would do such a thing? Or is she lying to me? However, it really doesn't
seem like she's lying.
"Della, we're on the same boat here.You don't have to be mendacious with me” Jake replied.
This son of a b*tch! How dare he put me on the same boat as him! Peeved, Della let out a snort.
"Like I said just now, it wasn't me who did it.Why are you pinning the blame on me?" Della responded.
It was the first time Jake saw Della being so serious and obstinate.
It looks like there's more to this than I thought.
Jake glanced vacuously outside the window as he fell into his thoughts.
"Sometimes, people aren't what they seem to be.Don't simply judge a book by its cover." Having said
that, Della took her purse on the sofa and left.
After hearing Della's statement, Jake was a bit baffled.
That being said, since he was ten times smarter than an average joe, it didn't take him long to figure
out the meaning behind Della's words.
It looks like there's a despicable person hiding among Joan's circle.
I hope she'll be okay.Knowing her, she probably won't be wary enough of those close to her, which is a
bit concerning...
Larry, after staying by her side for so long, you still couldn't manage to protect her! Jake gazed out the
window with his cold and lifeless eyes.
Having finally found Joan, Larry was reluctant to leave her side as he was still worried about her.
"Larry, are you not going to work?"
Joan murmured while sitting on the couch in the living room.
"No, I'm not going."
Larry held even tighter onto her waist.
Joan was miffed as she didn't want to see Larry neglect his work because of her.
"Larry, you should head to work.Or else I'll move out of your house."
Joan was fraught with guilt.
Larry was stupefied for a while before letting out a smile.
"Don't worry, I can just work from home."
Larry pointed at his note book on the table.
Since he was the president of Norton Corporation, he could work wherever and whenever he liked.
Not to mention, with his capabilities, he would get the job done no matter where he was.
Joan let out a faint smile and held tightly onto Larry's arm.
Feeling the warmth of his body temperature, Joan could finally relax.
Maybe I've fallen head over heels for him.
After closing her eyes, Joan felt a sense of loneliness slowly eating away at her.
"Joan, you should refrain from contacting Abelyn in the future, okay?"
Larry whispered while stroking her hair.
Joan immediately opened her eyes and glanced at him with a concerned expression on her face.
How should I answer this question?Should I tell him what happened in the hotel room? She was rather
bewildered.
Although she was impatient to know the truth, she was afraid that the truth would hurt her.
"What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
Larry cupped her face in his hands.
"No, I'm fine."
Joan looked flustered as she shook her head.
