Madeline consoled her, knowing that Ava must be brooding over what Naya said not long ago.

Ava gently released Daniel’s hand when she heard the words. She stood up. “He isn’t the one who tampered with the car? Is his confession credible?”

“We did a polygraph test with him and he didn’t lie, but a polygraph isn’t necessarily 100 percent accurate.”

“So what does this matter have to do with Naya?” Madeline asked.

The officer said he could not reveal to them the details of the investigation. Hence, he turned around and left.

“Maddie, what’s going on? If that man didn’t tamper with my car, how did the brakes get damaged?”
