But just as the robot turned to face her, ready to fight back, "Watch out!" Charlie quickly pulled Doretta to safety, then managed to knock the robot aside with a kick.

Bullets ricocheted off the stone wall where they were taking cover.

Doretta, just catching her balance, looked at Charlie's serious face and bit her lip, realizing she had narrowly escaped being hit by the gunfire thanks to him.

"Stay alert," Zane cautioned, his gaze fixed on the robots with a stern look.

Nicole and Jared, standing together, looked through the crowd for Lawrence but couldn't spot him.

"This isn't good, Lawrence is trying to run away," Nicole said urgently. "I need to stop him."

If Lawrence got away now, it would mean all their hard work was for nothing. Nicole was sure that if he escaped, he would use these robots against them, giving them no chance to get away.

As Nicole started to move, Jared didn't hesitate to follow her.

She had thought a lot during her captivity.
