Ch. 1981..1990

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 1981 -Dominic failed to detect anything wrong with Austin’s pulse until his condition worsened.

Later, Lily mentioned a virus that was difficult to detect had caused the devastating outbreak in Burnwken.

‘Perhaps all the viruses the research institute had developed share the same traits"

Dominic thought, ‘These viruses are good at avoiding detection, just like the organization. novelebook.com Therefore, it's normal not to detect anything, and we shouldn't feel ashamed"

It was not that they were incompetent, but the organization was simply too cunning.

Austin smiled bitterly, knowing his granduncle was trying to console him.

"So, what do you think of your condition, Uncle Dom?"

‘He's highly experienced, and I'm sure he knows his body best"

"Well, you already know the answer, don’t you?"

Dominic smiled.

Austin noticed the older man’s casual expression and could hardly fight back his tears. He looked away, not wanting to cry in front of his granduncle.

Austin also blamed himself for being so weak compared to Dominic.

"Well, at least I'm okay for now."

Dominic patted the back of Austin’s hand, then added, "I feel so great that I could eat a cow."

"I'll go make you some steak!"

Austin took his granduncle’s words seriously and wanted to get up.

However, Dominic held onto Austin’s hand, stopping him.

"Hey, I can hardly chew, okay? Stay put.I have something to tell you."

"Y-Yes?" Austin hastily asked.

"I've thought it through.It isn’t a symbiote but a virus.What we saw deceived us!"

Dominic’s voice was husky and weak, but his words shocked Austin.

"What?"

Austin looked toward his granduncle’s arms.

Although Dominic's skinny arms showed no traces of things moving within them now, Austin could not forget the horrific scene and was sure that was what he saw.

"We were misled because the symptoms were highly similar.Furthermore, we assumed that symbiotes caused our sickness because we knew little about them.However..."

Dominic paced his breathing and continued, "If the symbiotes caused the virus, the transmission method and symptoms would've been different.Besides, one can quickly contain symbiotes compared to this virus. If I'm right, it has already started spreading."

"What are you talking about?"

Austin was shocked.

"The virus, of course!"

Dominic coughed, then cleared his throat, gesturing for his grandnephew to get him some tissues.

Austin hurriedly fetched him some, and the older man coughed a mouthful of bloody saliva into them.

"Uncle Dom!"

Austin was alarmed by what he saw. However, Dominic simply waved, brushing it off.

"The fact that I still can talk to you shows that I’m fine.However..."

He paused, looking grave.

"I have no idea how much longer I can stay awake like this."

"You're going to be okay!" Austin uttered.

However, he could not even convince himself of his own words.

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 1982 -Austin and Dominic did not have a solution to this problem or even know what it was.

Austin and the others could only rely on Dominic’s analysis, stating it was the work of a virus, not a symbiote.

They also wondered about detoxification and recovery.

However, it was essential to have faith, as once people stopped believing in themselves, they would eventually fail.

"Hehe..."

Dominic chuckled nonchalantly. He was not too bothered about this.It did not matter to him whether he lived or died.

Dominic had devoted his whole life to learning traditional medicine, and although he was not entirely satisfied with his achievements, he still made a name for himself.

Moreover, he was delighted with the few apprentices he had taken under his wings.

As for Austin...

Dominic turned to look at his grandnephew.

‘Even though this stinking brat has always angered me and did plenty of stupid things, he has finally grown into being a doctor. It doesn’t matter if I die or not. It’s just that I can’t die right now"

"Don't worry.I won't die," Dominic said.

"I haven't scolded you enough yet."

"Go ahead and scold me, Uncle Dom! I like it when you do that. You must keep scolding me for the next few decades!" novelebook.com Austin hastily replied.

Dominic glared at him before bursting into laughter. He could not die yet, at least for now.

Austin would wallow in guilt and blame himself for Dominic’s death if the latter died now. That burden would be too heavy for Austin to bear.

"Since it's a virus, we can't defeat it using the same way we eliminate a symbiote," the older man continued after adjusting his posture.

Although Dominic was exhausted, he knew he must finish what he wanted to say.He did not know if he could wake up if he fell asleep again.

Therefore, he wanted to say everything he could think of while still up and speaking.

"Okay, I understand! We must find a way to defeat this virus.

After realizing it was a viral infection and not symbiote poisoning, Dominic knew his previous research was wrong. He had read many books on symbiotes, but ultimately, that was not the case.

‘How can we overcome it if I initially went in the wrong direction"

After some thought, Dominic said, "Lily..."

"Lily left to find a solution, and so did Alexander," Austin replied ambiguously. He did not want Dominic to know too much to prevent him from worrying.

"Don't worry.They're both competent.Surely they'll find a way."

"Didn't you look down on my apprentice?" Dominic raised his eyebrow and asked half-jokingly, complacency clear on his face.

Austin did not answer.

After a moment of silence, he finally squeezed out three words.

"I respect her!"

Before, he felt unconvinced in various ways.

Although Austin admired Lily, he was still a little dissatisfied.

Even up until now, it was hard for him to accept the truth.

Not only was Lily's attainments in medicine higher than his, but she was also better than him in various aspects, be it her composure or her fearlessness in the face of danger.

After witnessing so many things, he found it impossible not to be afraid. He was terrified in that hell-like place, yet Lily knew she was entering a lion’s den and still went in.

Austin could not help but respect her courage and determination.

Dominic laughed when he heard his grandnephew’s words.

Then he sighed and said, "It’s just a pity that..."

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 1983 -"It's just that, what?" Austin was curious.

"It's just a pity that although my apprentice is talented, she isn't focused on practicing medicine. She enjoys making fragrances. If she didn't drop medicine to focus on perfumery, her accomplishments would be endless!" Dominic exclaimed emotionally.

He always knew Lily wanted to go into perfumery, but he was against it.He always felt that such things were not of much use and that they had no medical benefits.

However, Lily was obsessed with perfumery, and Dominic could not do much to stop her.

Moreover, she showed great talent in perfumery, and it did not take long for her to make a name for herself.

Dominic had witnessed life and death many times, and with what had happened recently, he realized even the most skilled doctors could only save lives but could not heal hearts.

Many things were out of his control.

Once he had let go of his obsession, he no longer blamed her as much.

Still, he could not let go of his pride.

Lily and Dominic did not talk for a few years afterward.

Then Dominic vaguely heard Lily was dating someone.

Later, Dominic learned about her breakup and sudden marriage, which happened long before he knew.

Lily was strong-willed and went through many things without telling the older man.

Instead, she gritted her teeth and endured everything alone.

However, it reminded Dominic of himself.

Perhaps he showed her extra affection when he took her in as his secret apprentice because he saw their similarities.

Austin was speechless.

‘Lily would have been even more capable now if she hadn't given up halfway"

She was much better than Austin, even after turning it down a notch. novelebook.com It was hard to imagine what achievements she would have accomplished if she continued studying medicine.

"Uncle Dom, since you have such confidence in Lily, I believe she can cure you," Austin said, pulling up his granduncle’s blanket.

"Now, don't think about anything else.Don't worry, and just rest well." Dominic glared at him and nodded slightly.

"You shouldn't worry too much, either.Although this incident happened because of you, you are not to blame.Do you understand?" Austin nodded.

"I do."

Even so, Dominic knew his grandnephew still felt troubled by this and could not help but blame himself. However, regarding things like these, it would ultimately depend on the individual to confront and overcome their feelings.

Dominic took a deep breath and slowly closed his eyes.

Indeed, he was exhausted.

Austin began packing his things immediately after.

As he mopped blood-stained floors and tore off the soiled sheets on the cushions, he was a small figure standing at the door.

"Galen?" He called out subconsciously.

"Why are you here? Quick, move back!"

Dominic, who had already closed his eyes, hurriedly snapped them open again when he heard the little boy's name.

Then he turned toward the door to look at Galen.

The older man’s eyes immediately lit up with excitement.

"What are you doing here, boy?"

"Grandpa..." Galen's voice softened Dominic's heart.

The little one was about to stumble over instantly. He wanted to run into Dominic’s arms and be swung in the air, as Dominic had done many times before.

"Don't move!"

Austin shouted, startling Galen, who immediately froze.Dominic immediately turned and glared at Austin.

Although the older understood the implementation, Austin still frightened Galen.

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 1984-Austin felt helpless but could do nothing. He could only say, "Galen, you're a good boy, right? Didn't I say you can't come into this room? Grandpa is still recuperating, so why don't you return to your room and play?"

The little boy was very obedient and did not go forward. However, he did not leave either.

Instead, he stood at the door, looking at the older man with his big eyes before softly calling out, "Grandpa?"

It became even harder for the two adults to refuse Galen.

Ultimately, Dominic sighed and waved him over.

"Come here, you!"

"U-Uncle Dom!"

Austin could not help but yell as a reminder.

After all, they should not endanger the child just because they felt sorry for him.

Dominic waved, signaling it was okay.

Then he said, "Honestly, we've all been living under the same roof.Galen would’ve gotten infected long ago since he’s here too. novelebook.com For instance, the servants barely came close to me, yet they still got infected, right? "If it happens, it happens.Since we didn’t immediately send Galen away, he has to face everything with us."

Austin had more to say after hearing his granduncle's words but could not utter a rebuttal.

‘Uncle Dom is right! Galen should have gotten infected long ago!’ Austin did not know why that was. After all, he had not even figured out what kind of virus it was. With Dominic’s permission, Galen grinned and ran toward the bed with his wobbly legs.Although Dominic allowed him to enter, the older man still took a cloth from the side to cover his mouth and nose.Austin silently sighed as he watched from the sidelines. That was the best they could do for Galen under such circumstances.

"Did you break something again, kid?"

Dominic, already quite tired, perked up and teased the little one.

"No!"

Galen waved and said sweetly, "Grandpa, you're sick."

"Hm, did you think you could be naughty just because I'm sick?"

Dominic feigned anger.

"Just wait until I feel better.I'll spank your butt!"Unexpectedly, Galen grabbed his hand, saying, "Do it, Grandpa! I won't cry!"

Dominic was shocked momentarily, then burst into laughter.

Meanwhile, Austin could only shake his head and smile helplessly.

‘This typically lively and naughty boy has recently been unusually well-behaved and adorable. With so much going on, Austin barely had time and energy to focus and take care of Galen. However, Galen did not cry or throw tantrums, as if he understood everything. It made sense that a child his age would not understand what was happening.

After all, other children in this situation would have only thought they could not play with or see their parents, resulting in various tantrums to fulfill their desires.

However, Galen was different as he was usually well-behaved and obedient.

"You know I can’t bear to spank you," Dominic said smilingly, patting Galen affectionately.

"But you must listen to Austin and try not to come into Grandpa's room so much. We'll play together when I get better, okay?"

"Okay!"

Galen nodded, rubbing his cheek against Dominic's hand.

Dominic felt his eyes becoming watery when he saw that.He had endured days of pain and endured so much, yet he had always remained composed. However, Galen’s actions softened his heart.

Dominic just wished for all the damnation to end as soon as possible.

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 1985 -Galen turned and stuck his face on Dominic's hand obediently and motionlessly.

Dominic initially allowed the little one to lie on his stomach.

Then he lowered his eyes to look at Galen.

Meanwhile, Austin felt emotional watching them from the sidelines.

Just then, he realized something was amiss and quickly stepped forward.

"Mm!"

Galen dodged and avoided Austin’s hand, afraid of getting pulled away.

Dominic subconsciously wanted to push Austin’s outstretched hand away when he noticed the look in Austin’s eyes.

The older man was startled.

Then Austin gently pressed his hand against Galen’s neck and spoke warmly, "Stay still.Let me have a look."

He brushed aside the little one’s hair at the back and slightly pulled down his collar, revealing Galen's neck.

Dominic remained still, and the little one followed suit.

After realizing Austin would not pull him away, Galen sat obediently and cooperated with Austin.

Austin stared at the little one’s neck and saw a few tiny red dots that resembled eczema, but not quite.

Galen also had traces that resembled marks left after a fever, but it was too challenging for Austin to make a definitive judgment.

"What is it?" Dominic finally spoke up and asked, unable to contain his curiosity any longer.

"Take a look."

Austin had a vague idea in his mind but was still unsure. So, when Dominic asked, he moved Galen to the other side for Dominic to see.

From this angle, the visible area on the neck became apparent.

At first glance, Dominic did not think it was severe. However, upon closer inspection, his eyes widened in surprise.

"That's..."

"Do you think it looks like an antibody reaction?" Austin asked tentatively. novelebook.com He had considered it, but he was not entirely sure.

After all, one should always approach medical matters cautiously.

Also, since he had found such a thing on Galen’s neck, he needed extra precautions.

Dominic did not answer as he pondered, rubbing the marks lightly with his fingers.

The ticklish feeling caused Galen to shrink his neck.

Even so, he did not try to escape. It was as if he knew Dominic was doing something vital.

Dominic rubbed his rough fingertip over the spot, examined his own finger, and then leaned in for a closer look.

He wanted to grasp Galen's wrist, but the exertion of leaning forward took a toll on his tired body as he fell back down.

Austin quickly realized what his granduncle intended to do.He promptly picked up Galen, seated him beside Dominic, and placed the child's tiny wrist into the older man’s palm.

"Here, Uncle Dominic.Take a look."

"Hmm."

Dominic did not refuse and gently placed his finger on the child's wrist. He closed his eyes and appeared to have dozed off while the two remained silent with their eyes fixated on him.

Galen was purely curious. He did not know what Dominic was up to but still had a certain level of trust in him.

Galen even thought Dominic was playing with him and watched with great interest.

Meanwhile, Austin was nervously waiting for Dominic’s diagnosis.

After all, it could be a turning point for the entire situation if his suspicions were correct.

The room fell silent stillness, with only the sounds of the trio's breathing.

Time seemingly stretched on as Dominic remained motionless.

Austin even started to wonder if fatigue had overtaken Dominic. He was about to call out to his granduncle when he saw Dominic's eyes open slowly.

"Uncle Dom..." Austin immediately called out.

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 1987-"Go to your room and play for a while.I'm getting a little tired, and I need to rest," Dominic said softly, gently patting Galen.

Galen was very sensible.

Although he did not fully understand everything that had happened recently, he had become much more obedient.

Moreover, his father had entrusted him before leaving, telling him to listen to Dominic and Austin.

Galen remembered it all.

"Okay.I won't disturb you then.If you miss me, just call me."

With that, Galen turned around, propping his chubby little arms on the bed, ready to climb down.

Austin immediately scooped the little one up and turned to leave the room.

When he reached Galen’s room, he set the little one down before bending and saying, "What do you want to eat? I can order takeout for us.How about that?"

He thought Galen would happily agree. However, the little one shook his head.

"No, Daddy said I shouldn't trouble others unnecessarily. novelebook.com Grandpa is the most important right now. Please take care of Grandpa, Uncle Austin!"

Although he sounded childish, his words were mature beyond his years.

Austin did not know what to say momentarily, feeling overwhelmed with emotions. He used to think children were troublesome creatures who required constant care and caused endless worries.

However, after spending these past few days with Galen, he realized children, in many moments of vulnerability, could heal one’s heart.

Galen was a delicate boy who possessed immense strength.

While most of the time, adults would think they were caring for their child, the child often tended to the adults’ emotions.

"Okay.You're such a good boy."

Austin gently hugged Galen, feeling the tenderness of Galen's small body, which energized Austin. He glanced at the red dots on Galen’s neck again. It was irregularly distributed, faint in appearance, and resembled a birthmark but not quite the same.He remembered not noticing any such marks on Galen's neck before.

It meant they appeared within these past few days, even though Austin could not pinpoint the exact time.He had no idea what those marks were but felt it was related to the virus.

‘Galen is the only one in the estate who didn’t get infected.Oh, and Alexander.Still, Alexander arrived late and was only here for two days, so his case didn’t provide much reference.Meanwhile, Galen has been with us the entire time"He eats and lives with us, yet he remains healthy while everyone else here is more or less infected"

Austin gently raised his head, anxious as he reached to touch Galen's forehead.

The little one’s temperature was average, even though he had a fever when Alexander came to pick him up.

However, Galen was fine once his fever subsided.

‘We didn’t think much about it then, but was the fever a symptom of the infection, and Galen managed to overcome it on his own?’ Austin could not understand it.Despite having treated many patients, he had never faced such a situation.

There was no past medical history to reference, only his own gradual exploration. He got up and returned to Dominic’s room, but as soon as he stepped through the door, he was shocked by what he saw.

"Uncle Dom!"

Austin exclaimed, rushing to the older man’s bedside and looking at him hanging off the bed.

On the floor was a large puddle of blood.

Dominic lay there, gasping for air as fresh bloodstains were visible at the corners of his lips.It was evident he had been coughing up blood after Austin and Galen left.It seemed to be severe.

Austin was distraught when he saw his granduncle in that horrific state. He naively believed Dominic was gradually recovering and his condition was improving.

Little did Austin know Dominic was putting on an act and not getting better at all.

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 1988 -All the apparent ease and nonchalance Dominic displayed earlier were just him relying on sheer willpower. He did not want Galen to see him so worn out.He did not want to scare the child or let him see that side of him.

‘Uncle Dom clenched his teeth and forced himself to stay strong.I thought he was getting better. How stupid and naive am I?!’ Austin genuinely hated himself, feeling guilty for being careless and inattentive. He carefully supported Dominic and grabbed his wrist to check his pulse.

The older man’s pulse was inconsistent, sometimes rapid and sometimes slow, which felt dangerous.

"Uncle Dom!" Austin choked, wanting to say something but unable to find the words.

"It's nothing!"

Dominic sighed and said, "Towels!"

Austin hurriedly got up to fetch the towels.

Then he brought one dry one and one wet one.

Dominic saw him holding the two towels, smiled, and tugged at the corner of his mouth.

The older man managed to squeeze out two words, "How smart!"

He wanted to tell Austin he had become smarter, knowing to bring two towels without being reminded.

Still, Dominic did not have much strength left, and uttering those two words was already a challenge.

Austin could not even smile. He knew his granduncle was trying to lighten the mood for him, but the best Austin could do was not to cry.

‘If this continues, Uncle Dom’s body won't be able to take it"

Even if the virus did not cause further harm, without other physical invasions, constant inability to eat, lack of mental alertness,novelebook.com and occasional bouts of coughing up blood were harmful to an older person like Dominic.

"Uncle Dom, this can’t go on any longer.Maybe I should go to that lab!"

Austin thought for a moment, seeming to make a determined decision.

"Nonsense!"

The older man scolded but soon started coughing. He had exhausted too much energy and could not sustain himself for such a long time.

When Galen was around previously, Dominic barely held on with sheer willpower.

However, the older man could not speak properly now that he was angry.

"Uncle Dom, please calm down.I can’t see you like this!"

Austin quickly reassured his granduncle. However, those were only words of comfort.

In his opinion, there was no better solution than that.

Although Alexander and Lily also worked hard to find a solution elsewhere, there had been no good news from them.

Meanwhile, Austin remained with Dominic, watching the older man’s body deteriorate gradually.

Austin felt there was no way he could grit his teeth and persevere through everything.

‘I must find a solution, even if I can’t.Even if I died out there, at least I would've done something"

"Don't...go!"

Dominic grabbed Austin’s collar and gritted his teeth.

The older man said each word forcibly.

Austin was shocked as he looked into his granduncle’s eyes with anger and concern.

Austin felt his eyes starting to tear up.He nodded with a brave expression.

"I-I'll listen to you, Uncle Dom!"

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 1989-Later, Dominic fell unconscious, just like he did two days ago.

Austin noticed his eyelids were not twitching rapidly, indicating Dominic was asleep.

The former also checked the latter's breathing and pulse.

Although Dominic’s pulse was weak, it showed no signs of immediate life-threatening dangers.

Austin considered it fortunate amid misfortune. He was conflicted as he struggled with himself internally.

On the one hand, he did not want to waste time here, but on the other, he could not just leave.

‘I'm the only one left to care for everyone here. What would happen to Uncle Dom if I left? What would happen to Galen? What about the servants?’ With that in mind, Austin stood up and walked to the balcony to look downstairs.

Everything below seemed lifeless in the vast estate.

Even the once vibrant plants and trees appeared dull and withered at that moment, hanging their leaves dejectedly.

While the servants rested in their respective quarters, Austin walked through the garden and occasionally heard their intermittent coughing and soft groans.

‘These people don’t know what illness they're suffering from. novelebook.com They think they're just down with the common flu and have infected each other"

Dominic had ordered the servants not to go outside, and they obeyed.

Initially, very few people in the estate went outside as most of their needs were self-sufficient.

Moreover, Alexander's men stationed outside occasionally sent necessary supplies. So, there was no shortage of daily necessities.

‘Although it’s manageable now, anyone will unlikely endure this for much longer.Plus, the virus can undergo unpredictable changes"

With these thoughts in mind, Austin glanced at Dominic and noticed he was sleeping peacefully.

Then Austin opened the door and went out, descending the stairs. He arrived at the garden, where a scent of medicinal herbs permeated the air.

Although they had not figured out exactly what virus they were dealing with, they could not afford to stay idle.

Hence, Austin boiled some herbal soups and gave them to the servants.

The people there still trusted Austin and Dominic, so they naturally assumed the soup was medicine for treatment and willingly drank it.

Only Austin knew that although the herbal soup could boost their immune systems, it would not help with the virus.

The garden was quiet, and Austin walked around the servants’ quarters.

However, he hesitated to go any closer.

Guilt stirred within him as he looked at the people there and listened to their intermittent coughs. He felt like a sinner, knowing all this suffering was because of him.

The servants had to endure so much because of him.

After a few minutes, Austin no longer dared to go inside.

Ultimately, he turned and left.

‘Since I started this mess, I must be responsible for ending it.I have to find a way to end this endless pain!’ Lily kept track of the days and realized she had been there for three days. She had not seen anyone besides those who delivered her meals and the two guards at the entrance. There was no sign of the mysterious organization, the enigmatic person, or even Rick.It seemed like Lily was the only one there.

While her days here were worry-free regarding food and shelter, and she appeared free to move around, it was much more difficult than being in the research facility.

There was also no sunlight here since the windows were just decorations.

Therefore, Lily also could not see the outside world.

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 1990-Lily had previously attempted to break the windows, causing alot of commotion, but she barely left a scratch. She could not even make a crack, and the people outside did not even bother checking on her.

It indicated they were confident she could not escape through the windows.

After struggling for a while, she only managed to exhaust herself and work up a sweat, with no other effect.

Fortunately, a clock was in the room to allow her to keep track of time.

Initially, Lily was not in a hurry, thinking someone would come to her.

However, three days had passed, and there was no sign of activity.

Every day was the same, besides hers and her little ones’ increasing restlessness.

Lily paced around the room continuously as she could not leave. Her body felt heavy, and her movements became sluggish.

If she were to try anything, she would not have much chance of escaping.

"I want to see your boss!"

Lily opened the door and stood at the entrance, addressing the two guards.

As she expected, they remained as unresponsive as before.

They did not even glance at her.It was evident they had received orders.novelebook.com They ignored everything Lily said unless instructed otherwise.

"Let me repeat myself.I want to see your boss!"

She placed a hand on her abdomen, her brows furrowed.

"I might...go into premature labor!"

After speaking, she palmed the doorframe and slowly crouched down. She could not squat down fully due to her swollen belly.

Finally, the two guards reacted.

They turned to look at Lily, observing her pale complexion and the large beads of sweat on her forehead. She was enduring tremendous pain, which did not seem like an act.

Moreover, the two guards would be in trouble if something happened to Lily.

The guards quickly exchanged a glance and communicated silently.

One of them stayed behind while the other hurriedly walked away.

Lily was unsure how they would communicate with their superiors. She had assumed it would be through a walkie- talkie or a phone call, but she did not expect them to leave to deliver the message.

It also showed that the people behind the scenes must be nearby, or at least not far from here. She slowly turned around and walked toward the sofa in the room.

Then she plopped on the sofa, leaning to one side, appearing in great pain.

‘It’s an unavoidable strategy. It might be the only way to attract someone's attention.I wouldn't even have a chance to negotiate, let alone escape, if I don't see anyone"

After about ten minutes, she heard hurried footsteps, sounding somewhat chaotic.

There were at least three or four people.

Lily covered her belly with one hand and lightly grasped the side of the sofa with the other.

Then she glanced toward the door from the corner of her eye.

Shortly after, the guard who had left earlier returned accompanied by a few other people.

Lily's spirits lifted, but her face showed even more pain.

She furrowed her brows and fixed her gaze on the approaching individuals, trying to see who they were.

‘Who are they? Are they the masterminds behind this? Will they turn out to be as I had imagined?’

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 1986-Dominic frowned and did not rush to conclude.

Instead, he released Galen's hand and said, "Come take a look, too."

Austin was bewildered.Still, he hesitantly but gently touched Galen’s wrist.

The little one’s pulse was regular and stable, meaning he was completely healthy. It was also normal for his pulse to be a little faster.

Austin did not notice any difference and looked at his granduncle perplexedly and curiously.

However, Dominic only smiled at him as if waiting for him to determine the answer himself.

Austin withdrew his gaze and continued to feel Galen’s pulse.

After a while, he still could not sense anything unusual. He thought for a moment, then withdrew his hand.

"Uncle Dom, Galen is very healthy."

"Yes, he is."

Dominic nodded with a faint smile. He felt satisfied with the outcome.

Regardless of the circumstances, it was no easy feat for Galen to remain healthy, novelebook.com which was excellent news for Dominic.

"B-But..." Austin hesitated.

Not only did he want to assess Galen’s health, but he also wanted to investigate the red spots on his body.

‘What could those spots be?’ "We can't discern differences based on Galen’s pulse, right?" Dominic voiced Austin’s doubts.

Austin nodded. He thought he could detect a difference in Galen’s pulse and find a solution.

"What are you talking about, Grandpa?" Galen blinked, not quite understanding.

"Grandpa just said you, my little one, are in great shape. You must be eating well, haven't you?" Dominic said half-jokingly.

"No!"

Unexpectedly, Galen did not readily accept the praise.

Instead, he shook his head and complained, "The food lately has been terrible, and I haven't been able to eat properly."

Austin was speechless, while Dominic burst into laughter after a moment of surprise.

One had to admit that Austin’s cooking was terrible.

Dominic had been tired these past few days and hardly ate anything. He could only eat porridge or drink protein shakes, just enough to get by.However, he had tasted Austin’s cooking before.

When Austin tried being Dominic's apprentice, he would usually voluntarily cook for his granduncle.

Those dishes tasted unforgettable to Dominic, and not in a good way.

Since then, the older man refused to let Austin cook for him.

Still, the circumstances were different this time.

There was hardly anyone left in the mansion.

Therefore, Dominic had no choice but to rely on Austin.

‘Galen must have suffered, too, but there are no other options"

"I'm sorry for what you've experienced these past few days.Once I get better, I'll bring you some delicious food!" Dominic said with a smile.

Galen naturally felt happy after hearing that.

"Okay! Grandpa, you need to get well soon!"

Although Austin did not get his desired results, seeing the older man’s joyful expression and good spirits relieved him slightly.

‘Perhaps the most difficult days have already passed.Uncle Dom has managed to endure it, relying on his own immune system.Could he have recovered even if we hadn't found a cure?’

With that in mind, Austin could only hope everything would go as planned.
