Ch. 2311..2320

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2311 -Fred thoughtfully paced back and forth for a long while. He looked somewhat anxious as he asked, “Who else knows about this?” Stunned, Rhea shook her head. “No one, I think.” “Not even Lily?” Fred was incredulous. After all, Lily had developed R10 and should know if there were issues with it.

“Well… I’m not sure,” Rhea murmured, “As you know, we don’t like each other, and she wouldn’t tell me anything. Perhaps she doesn’t know or simply chose not to tell me about it.” Fred frowned but thought Rhea was being reasonable.

“I see,” he said solemnly.

Rhea said, “So…” “We’ll proceed with the experiment tomorrow,” Fred replied decisively.

Rhea did not expect him not to change his mind.

‘Why is he so adamant?!’ “But the drug—” Fred interrupted, “There’s nothing wrong with it, and the experiment will succeed. Is that clear?” Rhea hesitated when she saw his glare. She nodded slowly, saying, “Yes, Your Grace.” She finally realized Fred would proceed with the experiment even if she told him it would surely fail. She could not understand why, but there was nothing she could do.

“Okay, return to the lab and rest.” Fred waved her off while yawning. “You must stay sharp for the experiment tomorrow.

“Oh, yeah!” He remembered something and opened the drawer, removing a phone from it. “This is yours, right?” Surprised, Rhea nodded. “Yeah.” “Mike Corden called many times, but I didn’t answer.” He tossed the phone to her. “Ask him if he has secured the invisibility potion formula."

"Now?" Shocked, Rhea widened her eyes.

‘It’s midnight, so Mike should be asleep by now. Besides, won’t Alexander and the others suspect something if I called Mike so late?’ Fred looked at her suspiciously and suddenly asked, “Isn't he under your control? Why do you look so worried?"

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2312-"I'm just worried the others might get suspicious," Rhea murmured, holding the phone.

Fred said dismissively, "If he can't even answer your call, we might as well cut him loose. Call him while I'm still interested, got it?"

Rhea realized by now that Fred only cared about R10, and everything else was just a bonus to him. She always thought she could impress Fred with her accomplishments.

However, after spending some time with Fred, she gradually understood that it did not matter what she did. No research or drug was as crucial to him as R10.

Rhea did not think much about R10, but since Fred was the boss, she could only do as he said. She called Mike, and the phone rang a few times before he answered.

"Hello?" Mike asked nasally, seemingly just getting out of bed.

"Mike, you called me?" Rhea said as she studied Fred's expression.

"Huh? Oh, I called in the afternoon." Mike seemed to have forgotten about it.

"You called so many times. Did you have something urgent to tell me? Have you secured the invisibility potion formula?" As Rhea had put the call on speaker, Fred could hear Mike.

Although the duke only listened, Rhea knew he was satisfied, at least for now.

"Rhea, do you know what time it is?" Mike grumbled. "Don't you need to sleep?"

"I was busy, and I didn't hear your calls this afternoon," Rhea said seriously, "Now tell me. Have you gotten your hands on the invisibility potion? You must’ve called that many times for a reason, right?"

She saw Fred frown and grew so nervous that her palms became sweaty. She feared Mike would say something that could get her into trouble.

Mike sighed and said, "Yes, I've secured the formula, but I'm not sure if it'll work.

Are you sure you want it?"

"What do you mean? Don't they have data to ensure it works?" Rhea asked, puzzled.

"I have no idea, okay?" Mike sounded as if she should not blame him. "As you're aware, I know nothing about scientific research. I only know that they have successfully analyzed the ingredients, and I went to great lengths to obtain the formula.

Still, I wouldn't dare to try to verify how successful it is. Those guys could have caught me, you know."

Rhea saw no change in Fred's expression and thought Mike sounded reasonable as well. "Then send me the formula. Let me take a look."

"That… might be difficult," Mike hesitated before continuing, "Can I deliver it to you in person?"

Stunned, Rhea noticed Fred looking at her suspiciously.

Scared, she quickly said, "What for? It's not convenient for you to come here.

Besides, why can't you just send it to my phone?"

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2313-"Well, the formula has been encrypted, so I can't just send it to you," Mike explained, "You're not scared of me coming over, are you?"

"I'm not scared, but it's inconvenient," Rhea coughed and said, "I'll be too busy soon and have no time to see you."

After a pause, she said with a frown, "Can't you just decrypt it?"

"That's not as easy as you think, and I worry I might destroy the file. It's safer to deliver something so important to you by hand."

Since Mike was insistent, Rhea grew suspicious and asked, "Mike, are you insisting on coming because you have something to tell me?"

"Yes." He hesitated and answered truthfully," I want to know when you'll rescue my son!"

Alarmed, Rhea glanced at Fred and quickly calmed herself down as she said, "I told you to wait, didn't I? After I create the invisibility potion, then I'll be able to—"

"My son can't wait that long!" Mike sounded anxious. "You're not trying to trick me, are you?"

"I'm not, okay? Have you forgotten who I am? I'm your master, and everything I do is for your good," she stressed, "Tell me. Who I am?"

Falling silent for a moment, Mike answered somewhat reluctantly, "You're my master."

"That's right! So you must believe everything I tell you. All my solutions are the best, understood?" Rhea said, trying to deepen the hypnotic effect on him.

Mike hesitated and said, "Understood."

Rhea sighed in relief. "So, can you send me the formula now?"

"I can't. I really have to deliver it by hand." Mike was unusually adamant.

Rhea was speechless because she had confirmed that her hypnosis was working, and he responded to her suggestions.

"No—" As she tried to turn him down, Fred covered the microphone and said, "Tell him he can come."

Rhea was stunned and puzzled by Fred's intention.

"Tell him to come tomorrow night," Fred added after some thought.

"But—"

Fred said, "Just do as I say!"

As Rhea was about to do so, Mike said, "Hello? Did you hear what I said? I must deliver it by hand. I went through a great deal for it, so I don't want to risk it."

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2314-“I heard you." Rhea held up her phone again and said blandly, "Come the day after tomorrow then."

"The day after tomorrow? Why not tomorrow?" Mike said, "Don't you need it urgently?"

Rhea grunted and said, "I do, but it's not that urgent. If you must come tomorrow, visit tomorrow night then."

Mike asked, "Can't I come during the day?"

Rhea lost her temper. "Don't push it, Mike! Do you still want to save your son or not?"

"Of course I do," Mike murmured, "Don't get upset. I'll deliver it tomorrow night then. Is that okay?"

Calming down a little, Rhea grunted a yes and hung up.

Fred sneered. "Your hypnosis isn't so effective, is it? He still dared to talk back at you."

‘My men would never dare to talk to me like that.' However, Rhea did not think so and said, "Do you feel you have a firmer control over your men than I do to Mike?"

Fred raised a brow and let out a confident look. "Isn't that the case?"

Based on just now's conversation, he did not think the hypnosis was effective in controlling Mike.

Rhea smiled and explained, "Well, R20 is good because no one can tell whether the subject is under its influence. Even someone like you who knew couldn't tell, let alone those who don't."

She chuckled confidently and added, "If people can quickly tell, then it would defeat the purpose, wouldn't it? The human mind is highly complex. What I want is for him to obey me subconsciously while retaining a certain degree of volition.

"No matter what Mike thinks, he will ultimately obey my instructions." Rhea felt that was the true meaning of controlling someone.

The truth was she had kept exploring new ways to do so. She first experimented on Cameron, but he raised suspicions because he lost his volition and treated others differently.

Since then, she has tried to develop a better solution, and the current drug was the outcome of numerous improvements. She was pleased with the effect of her hypnosis on Mike and thought it could have been better for Ross.

Rhea somehow felt that while the prince seemed to obey her command more, he had lost a greater degree of volition.

After much consideration, she believed it was because she was not close to Ross and had to rely on information provided to her.

Fred digested her words and looked at her thoughtfully for a moment. He then nodded and said, "All right, as long as you know what you're talking about. Just make sure the experiment goes smoothly tomorrow, got it?"

Rhea nodded. "Yes, Your Grace."

Knowing that he wanted to keep her phone, she then handed it back to him.

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2315-Satisfied, Fred took the phone and said, "Didn't I ask you to tell Mike that his son is dead?"

Rhea grew alarmed. Although Fred sounded casual, he blamed her for not following his orders.

"I…" Rhea said nervously, "I'm worried the news would be too much for him and cause brainwave fluctuations that could affect my control over him. Although I won't lose him, I don't want to cause any trouble at this crucial moment. I plan to tell him after the experiment."

Fred caught on and nodded. "Oh, I see. Relax. I asked you to tell Mike about it so he would leave you alone. Since you know how to deal with him, I'll leave it matter to you.” However, Rhea was still worried. She said, "I'll tell him about his son's death after we complete the experiment tomorrow."

Fred smiled. "I know I can count on you. I'm putting you in charge of the experiment tomorrow, then. You won't let me down, right?"

He pressured her despite his gentle look.

She nodded despite herself. "I'll do my best!"

She dared not promise him anything. The truth was that she did not have much confidence in tomorrow's experiment. She even thought it was likely to fail, but she would not dare to voice her opinion.

"All right, get some rest. I'm going back to sleep. Tomorrow is going to be a big day!" Fred smiled as he stretched.

Mike looked to his left after hanging up. He had not just gotten out of bed as he led Rhea to believe. Instead, Mike was sitting in the living room the whole time.

He was not alone, either.

Alexander, Ross, Austin, and Cameron were present. They all sat together with tea, coffee, various fruits, and snacks as if not intending to go to bed.

After looking at everyone, Mike asked, “What do you guys think?” "Why didn't she let you go over tomorrow during the day?" Austin had been meaning to ask about this.

"Are they planning on doing something important tomorrow?"

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2316-"It sure looks like it." Ross nodded in agreement. "My men in the embassy told me things have been unusual over the past two days. However, that's all they could tell me."

He spread his arms, indicating that even he knew little about what was happening at the embassy.

Alexander and Cameron were quiet. They exchanged a look without voicing their opinions.

"Secretary Rollins, what's your take?" Mike asked.

After all, Cameron was there to solve the problem together with them.

"I'd like to hear your thoughts first, Alex," Cameron said blandly.

Alexander cleared his throat and said to Mike, "It's evident they're doing something significant tomorrow. The embassy has been postponing meetings, and Rhea has insisted that you only go there at night.

“That shows she'll be busy with something during the day," After a pause, Alexander continued, "Besides, why did she only call you now? What was she doing during the day? Why didn't she call you earlier?"

Mike frowned. "I wondered about that, too. She might've had no time to answer my call or just didn't want to. Maybe she couldn't answer at all, either."

Ross sighed and looked toward Cameron. The former said, "I'm curious about what they're doing and where they're doing it because not even the ordinary staff know about it.

“Secretary Rollins, I must emphasize that the Yudonian government has nothing to do with Fred's actions." Ross did not want the incident to turn into a dispute between the two countries.

Cameron shook his head, saying, "I know you're in a pinch, but Fred is a Yudonian duke who has been using his status as the ambassador to commit crimes in Hyderland. We've refrained from arresting him partly for the ties between our two countries.

"So you can't say your government isn't responsible for this, Your Highness."

Ross shook his head. "I'm not. I'm just saying that whatever happens, it shouldn't affect our ties."

"Your Highness, you should know it depends on your and your government's stance. The ball is in your court now," Cameron said courteously and firmly.

After all, Hyderland had tried to put up with what Fred did. If people discovered Fred's evil deeds, Yudonia would face worldwide condemnation.

Ross dropped his smile and cleared his throat. He then nodded and said solemnly, "I understand, and I'm grateful for what you've done. However, what matters most now is to stop Fred and rescue my mom."

Alexander told Mike, "Go to the embassy tomorrow during the day. We'll find a way to get inside.” "But she asked me to go at night—"

"Just find an excuse," Alexander said, "I've made arrangements on my end. If they don't let us in, we'll just force our way in."

They had tried to solve the problem legally through official channels, but they had no other choice.

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2317-"Okay." Ross sighed and stood up with raised hands. "I might not be able to help much. Still, if you guys can rescue the queen and stop Fred, I promise no one will hold you responsible for forcing your way into the embassy."

It was a massive commitment for Ross.

Alexander nodded. "We're counting on you then."

"That must be it!" Austin suddenly said as he thought of something.

Puzzled, everyone else looked at him.

Austin cleared his throat and said, "I think I know what they are going to do tomorrow! It has to be the R10 experiment!"

The others were shocked, and Alexander asked, “You just realized it?” Although he did not mention it, it was evident Fred would conduct the R10 experiment tomorrow. Since Fred only cared about R10, he must have directed all his workforce toward it.

Alexander did not expect Austin to realize it so late. The former said sympathetically, "You should get more sleep. Lack of rest can affect your brain function, you know."

Austin was stunned for a moment. Upset, he said, "Are you saying my brain isn't functioning well?"

Mike was sitting closest to him. The former patted Austin's shoulder and sighed, saying, "I never expected you to be slower than me."

Austin could only look at Mike deadpan.

Ross shook his head. "Aust, you've gotten more… you know."

Austin grew annoyed and said, "Come on, guys. How would I know what you guys were talking about?

It could've been something else besides R10, right?"

He tried explaining himself, but the more he said, the less sense he made.

After ending the discussion, the others got up and left one after the other. They were prepared to conclude the matter tomorrow. Austin stared after them and said, "Hey, I haven't finished talking yet. Mike? Your Highness? Alex!"

Unfortunately, everyone ignored him. Soon, he was the only one remaining in the living room. Frustrated, Austin exclaimed inwardly, 'What the hell, man?!' Although Lily did not see Fred, she felt something was amiss. Over the past two days, the guards looked tense and solemn, as if something important was about to happen.

Fred did not visit her, nor did Rhea. Lily also did not see Dominic.

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2318-The calm before the storm felt suffocating to Lily. When it was time to deliver her dinner in the evening, nobody came.

It was highly unusual because no matter how angry Fred was at Lily, he took great care of her regarding food and drinks. For the sake of the experiment, she knew he would never allow her body to suffer.

Although she was not hungry, the fact that they did not deliver the meal indicated that something was up. Lily opened the door and asked the guard, "Where's my dinner?"

"No dinner tonight, ma'am. Please get an early rest," the guard said readily.

"Why?" Lily asked, but the guard gave no reply.

Besides telling her there was no dinner, he would not say another word.

After some thought, Lily asked, "Where's Fred?"

The guard continued to remain quiet. Lily raised her brow and then returned to her bedroom and shut the door. She sat by the bed but did not feel sleepy.

'Fred hasn't shown up for quite a while, and they also didn't deliver my dinner.

Don't they care about my body anymore? No. The only possible reason is that they'll experiment on me soon.

'So they want to keep me in a fasting state for the sake of the experiment, huh?' Lily had always been anxious about when the R10 experiment would begin.

However, she was less worried now that she knew. She resembled a death row inmate who had lived in anxiety, not knowing when the execution would begin.

They would feel relieved after knowing the date. Therefore, the waiting part was the most unnerving. Still, Lily did not think she would die, even at that moment.

Instead, she felt Fred would never win. …

Dawn finally arrived, but Rhea had been sleepless all night. It might have been due to what Fred said or the nightmare she previously had. Perhaps she had her own worries.

As Fred did not tell them the exact time or the detailed procedure, everyone waited, not knowing what to do. They had done many experiments, but they never faced such a situation before.

A while later, someone brought them breakfast and told them to get ready after finishing their food. Despite their frustrations, they said nothing, hoping they could get the experiment over with as soon as possible.

Having no appetite, Rhea reluctantly ate her breakfast and glanced toward the door. As there were twice as many guards patrolling outside, she could tell how important the experiment was to Fred.

As she finished eating half of her bread, a commotion came from outside.

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2319-It sounded like the rolling of car wheels, but it was louder than that. It even attracted everyone's attention.

Rhea joined the crowd as they hurried toward the door to see what was happening. Rhea saw two huge boxes being pushed past.

Unable to see what they were, someone in the back asked, “What is it?

A man in front shook his head and said, "No idea. They look like huge boxes. I wonder what's inside."

"What else? The test subjects, of course," someone else said.

Rhea's heart raced, wondering if Lily was inside one of the boxes. She wanted to take another look, but the workers had pushed the boxes out of her view.

Soon, a guard appeared and said, "Everyone, you'll be in groups according to this list. Please follow me when I call your names."

He then held up a list and started to call out names. Rhea was puzzled when everyone went to their groups and left with the guard.

However, she did not ask about it and waited quietly. Several people shared curious glances and left as well, leaving Rhea all alone. A while later, she heard footsteps, and Fred appeared, looking inside.

He asked Rhea, "Aren't you anxious being the only one left?"

She shook her head and said, "I know you must've left me here for a reason."

Fred nodded. "Good."

Then, he placed a hand on her shoulder and gave her a document, saying, "Take a look."

Puzzled, Rhea glanced at him and was surprised when she opened it. It contained detailed steps of the R10 experiment, providing precise information on how to start, the dosage, the injection method, the surgical procedure, and others.

There were even anatomical diagrams, complete with lines and annotations.

She initially thought Fred did not tell them about the procedure because he was unsure about it as well. After all, she had not met anyone who was related to the experiment until now. The person who first started the research was no longer around, either.

Seeing her widened eyes, Fred patted her shoulder and said, "Do know that I've only given this to you alone."

Rhea was astonished. "What about the others?"

"They only have segments of the handbook according to their assigned groups, which are in charge of different parts of the experiment. Only yours is complete,"

Fred spoke solemnly.

Rhea instantly caught on.

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2320-No wonder the guards separated them into groups and left in such a way. In other words, Fred had put them in charge of different parts of the experiment.

With that, the authorities could never find out how the procedure worked unless they arrested all the personnel involved.

“Thank you for trusting me, Your Grace," Rhea said.

She was happy to have the only complete handbook because she felt trusted and recognized by Fred.

However, Fred squeezed her shoulder as if to emphasize how crucial her task was. He said, "It's not because I trust you, okay? I want you to have it because you'll be in charge of the most vital step."

Rhea was puzzled as he led her toward the laboratory's innermost area. There was a rusty iron door that had stayed shut for a very long time. However, the door automatically opened when Fred neared, not even making a creak.

Finally, Rhea understood the door simply looked old and worn to avoid attention.

Fred let go of her shoulder and strode inside. "Come on. Here's where we'll conduct the world's greatest experiment today."

He spread his arms, looking excited. Simultaneously, Rhea noticed two huge boxes before her. She knew these should be the ones she saw just now.

Although still closed, they had more than enough space to hold a person each.

Instead of opening the boxes, Fred looked at Rhea and asked, "Do you know what you'll be in charge of?"

Rhea looked up from the handbook she held and said, "Brain transplantation?"

There was a phrase in the handbook that looked particularly eye-catching and unsettling. The words had a unique font and color on the last page.

Although Rhea sounded calm just now, she felt disturbed deep down. She roughly knew what R10 was all about but did not know how it could prolong a person's life in another body.

She had considered various possibilities but surely not brain transplantation.

After all, it was a complicated surgery, not to mention she had never done it before.

Despite her efforts to sound and look calm, her hands by her sides shook slightly.

Meanwhile, Fred nodded in satisfaction. "Not bad! You should have no problem taking charge of things later, right?"

Rhea hesitated.
