The Pinnacle of Life Chapter 2011

After Yuno got hit, she landed harshly on the ground and fell unconscious.

Jade was speechless, but she still checked up on her immediately.

Seconds later, Yuno regained consciousness, and she looked very much confused. Staring at Jade and the bronze palace, she was shocked. “C… Commander Benmore, where is this place? Oh god… Why is there such a big bronze house?”

‘Oh my, two souls in one body?’ Jade thought in surprise.

Boom!

The large bronze door finally closed.

Alex was still absorbing Nature’s power. Such complicated power flowed into his mind palace as the Chaos tree continued to absorb it. At the same time, the tree emitted Chaos Chi. The concentration of this energy had increased by tenfold in his entire mind palace.

At this rate, the Chaos tree would’ve grown 50 meters!

The ape standing next to Daya was staring at Alex, baring his teeth. It then raised its arm, trying to kill him with one slap.

Daya immediately stopped it when she noticed what happened.

She whispered, “He’s the most important person in my life. He’s the father of my child, so you have to respect him as much as you respect me. So don’t ever harm him, alright? Or I’ll have to ditch you.”

The ape seemed to have understood, bowing his head as an apology, making cute, begging sounds.

However, Alex didn’t notice them at all. Looking to be in a vegetative state, his eyes were closed. He was not waking up at all.

“Nature’s power seems to be able to help him, so let’s let him silently digest it on his own!” Daya chirped.

She then raised an arm, treading straight into the depths of the palace. Waving her hand aside, she started singing an ancient yet mysterious tune. Suddenly, more Nature’s power flowed out from the depths of Nature’s Palace.

If Alex could see this, he would’ve been utterly shocked.

Not only was Daya not affected by the power, she seemed to be able to control it as well. The next thing she did was even more jaw-dropping, she walked further in as if she knew her way around. She looked like she was relaxed, walking in her backyard calmly.

The palace was humongous, but it was quite empty as well.

A very long flight of stairs climbed from the very middle of the place as if it had no end.

Daya walked up those stairs as lotuses formed under her feet with every step.

The ape, however, stayed next to the stairs, not daring to take even one step.

Thud, thud, thud!

The more Daya climbed, the slower she became. The lotuses under her feet blossomed in an even more beautiful fashion, as well. As she was halfway up, she stopped to caress her stomach.

“This… Wouldn’t be too big of a problem, right?” she mumbled to herself.

After putting in some thought, she still didn’t dare to take the risk and walked back down.

She then walked to a side chamber within the palace and turned to the ape. “Baymax, if my husband wakes up, tell him to wait outside. And he must not disrupt us.”

Baymax nodded.

After that, she entered the side chamber and shut the doors.

Time crept slowly as Alex entered a mystical state. The tree was currently 99 meters tall, and it was unable to grow any further. With each thick branch grew lush, green, healthy leaves. It was filled with life.

Something was changing within his golden core as well, an amazing sight appeared within.

A tree’s reflection was formed on the surface of a golden pond made out of divine power. That tree was the Chaos tree. Brimming in gold, its leaves flowed with the breeze, giving shade to the pond.

Alex was awestruck, but an infant’s crying snapped him back to reality.

“Waa… waa!”

His eyes snapped open, surprised and puzzled.

The Pinnacle of Life Chapter 2012

“She… Gave birth?”

Upon hearing the infant’s cries, Alex could sense that they were connected by blood, and it moved his heart instantly in a special way. It was a fascinating feeling. It felt as if he was a brand new version of himself as if his life had continued.

He couldn’t care less about the changes within his golden core and rushed over. Instantly, he saw Daya, who seemed to be very weak. Her forehead was drenched in sweat, and her face was even covered in bloodstains.

In her arms was a tiny, fair skinned baby, crying loudly.

He stopped in his tracks, not knowing what to do as the father. He approached them slowly as his eyes nervously fixated themselves on the baby girl. He reached out his arms, but he didn’t know how to pick her up.

Alex touched Daya’s face instead, placing his forehead on hers and kissing her on the lips.

He could feel the pain she had to go through.

“How did you manage to give birth in such a short time? You must be tired, huh?”

“A little, but this is the happiest day ever! We couldn’t bear a child in our previous life and the life before that. But now, our wish has come true!”

Alex didn’t know what to say.

“Hubby, do you remember who I am now?”

Alex looked at her as their eyes locked, their mental power synchronized in the air, forming a powerful magnetic field in the area.

Although Alex had robust mental strength, Daya’s was even stronger. The two seemed to be communicating telepathically. Every string of mental power seemed to be flowing with color, merging into one and transforming into a large memory cocoon. This cocoon wrapped the two… No, the three of them up.

Suddenly, Alex saw the following…

A large hall was located in the middle of a mountain range. It was filled with fairy energy as the stars shone brightly in the sky. A grand wedding was being held in the area.

The bride wore a gorgeous white wedding gown. Looking tremendously elegant, her beauty exceeded all. Throngs of guests gathered, and most were very powerful figures as well.

A saint rode a large crane over while a deity arrived in a carriage pulled by nine dragons. Influential members of certain clans had even ridden the wind just to give their blessings to the newlyweds…

Presents were piled up in a large plaza as well.

The bride had a luscious body, and with her face shrouded by a white veil, none could see how she looked. Next to her was the groom. Even his back was more than enough to tell that he was dashing, his aura intense.

“Do you… Take… As your lawfully wedded wife?”

“I do!”

“Do you… Take… As your lawfully wedded husband?”

“I do!”

“You may now kiss the bride!”

As they were about to kiss, a sudden gust of wind blew into the hall. A young girl barged in and whispered something into the groom’s ear.

The groom seemed shocked. He hesitated for a moment. Then, after whispering something into the bride’s car, he leaped into the skies, leaving the bride alone in the hall to face all the guests on her own.

She immediately lifted her veil and revealed her exceptionally gorgeous face. Her expression, however, was that of mixed feelings.

After a closer inspection, Alex jumped in surprise. That bride was Daya.

He tried to get a better look at the groom in the flashback, but he just couldn’t seem to get a good view of his face. So he couldn’t identify the man.

Then, the flashback ended right there.

His whirlpool of emotions slowly calmed as he turned to look at Daya. “I saw… I saw the groom leaving you at the wedding. Was… That your past life? I couldn’t tell who the groom was, though. Who was he? Don’t tell me he was…”

“That’s right. It’s you.”

“So it is me…”

Alex was shocked, but he couldn’t remember this at all, as if some unknown power was sealing the memories from his past lives. Back then, he had never needed to look into such memories, but with Daya’s telepathy, he could suddenly sense all of these.

He clutched his head. A sharp pain struck him like a freight train within his skull.

The Pinnacle of Life Chapter 2013

Daya shook her head. “Hubby, if you can’t remember, then don’t. The past isn’t important, the present is. Just look at our daughter. She has your nose and mouth!”

Alex calmed himself once more.

‘Daya is right, no matter what happened in our past lives, it should stay in the past. Even if a psychic said that I used to be some emperor, it would all just be mere stories. It’s got nothing to do with the present. Besides, even without the past, I would still love Daya even more now.’

“Can I hug her?” Alex asked.

“She’s your daughter. Of course, you can.”

Alex slowly picked up the baby girl in his arms. He was extremely careful as if afraid a single mistake might hurt her tiny, frail body.

However, as Alex held her, he instantly felt an unusual amount of Nature’s power.

‘This newborn infant actually possesses such a large amount of Nature’s power in her! This is shocking.’

Alex looked towards Daya. “Why is Nature’s power within her body so strong? That’s so strange. And shouldn’t she be only due in two months? How did she give birth to her now? Is this baby premature?”

Daya shook her head. “Nope, it’s just that there’s a side chamber in this palace where time passes quicker than usual. You can even adjust it on your own. So I stayed there for a bit and gave birth! And as for the power, I don’t think it’s strange at all. This is Nature’s Palace, and it’s filled with Nature’s power. So the fact that she’s born here means that this power is born within her. It’s not unnatural that she’s managed to receive some of it.”

Alex was shocked, especially since Daya seemed familiar with the palace.

‘Now, this is even weirder.’

“Daya, have you been here before? How else could you be so familiar with this place?”

Daya shook her head. “That’s why I asked you if you remembered who I was.”

Alex had no clue.

“I am the Goddess of Nature from ten thousand years ago.”

“Holy… sh*t!”

***

Both new to parenthood, the two started taking care of the little baby together. They had quite a hard time since they came unprepared. They didn’t have any baby bottles, let alone baby clothes.

Alex wanted to find some useful object from his storage purse but realized that any two-dimensional spaces were sealed off within the palace. All his items had lost their effects, and he couldn’t open them up anymore. Even when Alex tried to open the door to the Kala temple, he just couldn’t seem to do it.

“We can’t continue like this. There’s no food or water or even a single piece of clothing. We might be able to endure this, but she won’t We have to leave as soon as we can,” Alex pressed.

Meanwhile, their daughter was crying hysterically, whereas the two didn’t know what to do.

“Is she cold?”

“I think she’s hungry,

Daya panicked. “I tried, but I haven’t produced any yet. Back then, one of my close friends gave birth and only managed to produce milk after a day or two. What do we do?”

“Why are you looking at me? I don’t have any!”

Daya rushed up the stairs as lotus flowers continued to bloom under her feet She ran with all her might for the sake of her daughter, quickly disappearing from Alex’s view.

After ten minutes or so, a giant lotus flower fell from the sky and landed on the baby’s forehead.

“What… What’s happening?”

The Pinnacle of Life Chapter 2014

Alex felt his heart jump.

The giant lotus flower slowly descended from the skies. Before it fell on them, Alex felt an immensely strong flow of Nature’s power.

Golden talismans flowed within every petal.

Each ray of Nature’s power glistened like the stars, brimming like a rainbow, floating endlessly within the flower. As this big golden flower fell down on them, Alex nearly knelt to the ground.

He was worried that this golden lotus flower would harm his daughter to the point that she couldn’t be healed. He tried dodging as fast as lightning, but it was to no avail.

An intense pressure seemed to be underneath the lotus flower, attracting his daughter and forcing her out of his arms.

Alex didn’t dare to drag her too hard, still apprehensive that he might hurt her.

In the end, the baby girl appeared above the golden lotus flower. Its gold surrounded her as the energy flowed into the baby’s body. It was an extraordinary sight.

The talismans in the petals rushed out of it like water. The whole process didn’t take long.

In the end, the entire lotus became pure energy, merging into the baby’s body.

Everything then returned to normal as the baby started falling. Fortunately, Alex reacted quickly and caught her in time with his arms.

Daya then rushed down the stairs immediately, right after. She asked Alex as soon as she saw him, “Hubby, did you see a golden lotus flower fly down?”

“Uhm… What’s that?”

“Nature Palace’s legacy.”

Alex looked as if he turned into stone. He pointed towards his daughter, who was still in his arms. “It went inside her.”

“What did you say?!”

Daya was shocked. “Why would it go inside her? That’s not right. It’s mine!”

Alex was confused. “Could it mean that you didn’t receive the legacy?”

Daya nodded. “That golden lotus flower was the divinity of the Goddess of Nature. One could only become one with nature after receiving it. That is the only way that one could control and sustain nature.”

She then smiled bitterly. “Looks like the future Goddess of Nature is our darling little daughter.”

After taking a further look at their daughter, a small lotus mark seemed to form on her forehead.

Alex smiled. “Still, your own legacy didn’t land in someone else’s hand. it’s fine that our daughter received it instead.”

Daya smiled and decided not to fuss on this matter anymore.

Boom!

Just then, the door to the palace opened slowly as the entire palace shook vigorously. It was difficult to stand properly.

“Let’s go, hubby! The palace is going to collapse!” Daya screamed for Baymax, grabbing Alex and dashing towards the door.

At the time, Jade and Phoebe, who were outside of the palace, were so shocked that they jumped. They backed away ten meters away from the entrance.

An earthquake suddenly occurred, and the palace as big as a mountain seemed like it would come crashing down. It was simply terrifying.

“What’s wrong? Is the palace collapsing?”

“What do we do? Alex is still inside. Is he going to be trapped?”

Boom, boom, boom!

Just as they were talking, the bronze palace shook even more vigorously and a large crack formed on the ground.

The Pinnacle of Life Chapter 2015

Just then, Alex and the others rushed out of the palace like the wind.

Simultaneously, the bronze palace disappeared as soon as a loud crashing sound filled the air. The area had become deserted. There wasn’t even a hole right there, as if the large Nature’s palace was just a mere illusion.

***

“Ah..!”

“No way? You gave birth in a week?” Jade screamed when she saw the baby in Alex’s arms.

After that, she observed the baby’s face and noticed the lotus mark on her forehead. It looked quite odd yet divine, so Jade asked, “Is this a birthmark? It’s so weird!”

After the legacy entered the baby’s body, as though hiding itself away, not a single person would be able to sense it. Even if Jade was leaning this close, along with her Tribulation Crossing level, she couldn’t sense anything at all.

Alex didn’t want to spread the word about his daughter being the future Goddess of Nature. “It’s probably because I’m trained in Buddhism. Since a lotus is a Buddhist sacred object, and the martial arts I trained had the holy lotus within, she’s most likely received it too.”

Jade then asked, “Have you received the legacy in the palace then?”

Alex shook his head. “It was too hard. We couldn’t even get anywhere near it. Master, there’s nothing else in there either. There’s just this long flight of stairs, and we couldn’t see the end of it. Most importantly, it was too hard to climb up there. I couldn’t even get through the first flight.”

Jade sighed. “Such fate to improve wasn’t even something normal people could imagine. It’s fine that you didn’t get it. Don’t feel dejected. It’s pretty impressive that you two have been able to stay there for a week.”

Alex nodded. He couldn’t help but be impressed by how weird time passed within the palace. He felt as if he had only spent a day there, but it had been a week out here.

Phoebe, on the other hand, stared at Daya, clearly filled with shock.

Daya used to be a superstar, even part of the Stoermer family in Michigan. Even though she’d seen her before, she didn’t expect her to bear to Alex’s child.

Thinking back, she felt quite upset.

Oblivious that Phoebe was actually Phoebe now and not Yuno, Alex said, “Master, Miss Yuno, my daughter was just born, but we haven’ t prepared anything at hand. Just look, we even had to give her our clothes. So we’ve decided to head back. Do you guys want to go back or continue exploring? I have the soul of a damned old lady who can be your guide. If you walk past this, you might be able to find a place where humans stay.”

Phoebe froze. ‘Did he just call me Miss Yuno?’

Jade, on the other hand, said, “I was thinking that if we could find the entrance and seal it up. Everyone witnessed just how powerful the members of the Kamikaze clan were, right? If they find their way into America, we definitely can’t deal with them with our current powers. They are far more dangerous than the demon beasts back in the ancient boundary.”

Alex nodded slowly as he looked at his baby daughter. It was fortunate that he could use his purse and ring now, so there were quite a few pieces of clothing in there.

After that, Daya ordered Baymax to find some demon beasts who just given birth to deal with her daughter’s hunger temporarily.

After that, Alex took out old lady Murphy’s soul, and with her guidance, headed toward the other side of the dungeon.

***

However, they had no idea that the broken edges of the ancient boundary were experiencing a massive change. It had been a week since the leopard demon governor left.

On this very day, he had actually brought a hundred thousand demon troops to wage war. The thirty-six defense stations that America built in the ancient boundary were no match for the demon troops.

In just half a day, they managed to defeat all thirty-six stations. Now, they were attacking the human outpost with the biggest entrance.

All the higher-ups of the Flying Eagles cried in shock and pain.

Darnic’s strategy had caused the squad to lose over thirty thousand troops, causing them to be trapped within the other side of the boundary.

Eleanor, the military counselor Eleanor, finally exploded. “Darnic Young, you’re simply useless! You have no idea about the wars over at the boundary. You were the one who sent them to their doom. You have no right to be the commander of the Flying Eagles!”

Darnic was furious. “All of this is Jade Benmore’s fault. She works with the enemy and has leaked our battle strategy. It caused us to sustain such a great loss!”

The Pinnacle of Life Chapter 2016

Boom!

Eleanor was furious after hearing what Darnic said.

“Darnic, you’re really the most shameless, useless, and unmanly Flying Eagles I’ve ever met. And you’re even their commander! What else do you know other than abusing your power? You’re actually blaming all of this on Jade? Don’t you have any shame in saying this?”

“Not to mention Jade’s been missing for an entire week. How would she get to know these shitty plans of yours? You just want to find someone to blame. As commander, you can’t even get into the ancient boundary. Now, you want to lead the war? Are you stupid?”

Deeply embarrassed, Darnic directed his anger towards Eleanor.

“Eleanor Curtis! I am the commander of the Flying Eagles!” he yelled. “How dare you talk to me like that? Do you want to get fired?”

Eleanor sneered. “I quit then. You really think I like this job? America will come to an end thanks to your sort of trash.”

When Eleanor was done berating, she grabbed her identity token, slammed it onto the table, and turned to leave.

“Hold on!” shouted Darnic.

“What?” Eleanor answered.

Darnic’s expression was dark and cold now. “Eleanor. So you’re Jade’s best friend, aren’t you? Jade went missing a week ago, so of course, she didn’t know the plans of the Flying Eagles. However, you, the counselor, could ‘ve easily known about our strategies, so…”

Not waiting for him to finish, Eleanor’s chest puffed out in anger. “So, you think I told Jade? And jade told the demon tribe?!”

“Isn’t that it?”

“Hahaha! ” Eleanor scoffed in disbelief. “Darnic, who do you think I am? What kind of person do you see Jade as? You’re just a maggot compared to her. You don’t even deserve to be in her presence. You make me sick!”

Now furious, Darnic bellowed, “Someone come over! Eleanor is a traitor of the Flying Eagles! She and Jade have colluded with the demon tribe! They should be sentenced to death. Capture her, and if she dares fight back, kill her!”

Eleanor glared at him coldly. “You want to kill me?”

“Why? Can’t I? Eleanor Curtis, I’m the commander of the Flying Eagles, so I control everything here. Who are you? You’re just a lowly b*tch, yet you dare be so arrogant in front of me.”

Boom!

Eleanor kicked Darnic right on his chest, sending him flying to the back.

The other Flying Eagles who had just arrived were shocked to see a situation like that. These two visitors weren’t sent by the officials but were people who worked with Eleanor for years.

“Eleanor! What happened?” asked one of them.

Eleanor smashed the table with her foot. “The Flying Eagles is not what it once used to be. It has been used for someone’s personal gain. I quit! Yacoub, are you going to follow his orders and kill me too?”

Yacoub’s eyes reddened immediately. He suddenly pulled his identity token from his neck and threw it to the floor.

He cried, “If it weren’t for you and Commander Benmore, Eleanor, I would’ve been dead for a long time. Hahaha! When Commander Benmore was chased away, I wanted to leave too. But I stayed back for you. Who wants to take care of this fool? I quit too! I’ll follow you wherever you go from now.”

The others threw their tokens down as well, shouting. “I quit! The current Flying Eagles treats us like we are not humans! Commander Benmore was such a good person. He fought for many years for the people of the golden era. How did she end up? She’s now called a b*tch! Is there still justice in this world?”

“Let’s leave! We won’t tolerate this anymore!”

The soldiers of the Flying Eagles had faith in their hearts, and that faith was in jade. Many clearly knew that Jade had been forced away, but their military counselor was still here. Considering Eleanor was closest to Jade, everyone hoped for Jade’s

comeback, but…

To their surprise, the officials issued a warrant for Jade to be arrested. That was the last straw for the soldiers. Only those who’ve been to the ancient boundary could truly understand war’s savagery and how Jade’s bravery became the mental support for countless soldiers.

She was like the Goddess of War. As long as she was there, the soldiers would have the will to fight on, and victory would always be on the Flying Eagles’ side.

The Pinnacle of Life Chapter 2017

With the shouts of Yacoub and others, the news about Eleanor leaving spread quickly among the Flying Eagles of Oregon.

Within ten minutes, thousands of people followed suit. All of them were old troops that followed Jade in the fights at the ancient boundary. They had an immensely strong bond with Jade and Eleanor. Hence they were genuinely disappointed with the current Flying Eagles.

“Let’s leave. I’m leaving too!”

“It’s time to quit. I’ve been here for thirteen years. I’ve fought more than three hundred wars, and I’ve nearly died thirty-six times. It’s time to plan for the rest of my life.”

“Yeah. It’s not worth fighting for the Flying Eagles now.”

“The spirit of the Flying Eagles has been lost.”

One by one, identity tokens were dropped to the ground and stepped on. If it was before, these tokens were like precious treasures to the troops of Flying Eagles. They weren’t merely tokens but symbols of pride to be part of this squad.

By the time Eleanor left, up to ten thousand people had gathered behind her. All of them threw away their tokens and quit with her.

***

Soon, the higher-ups of the Flying Eagles had heard the news. Even the officials knew about this.

At a critical time where the demon tribe was on the verge of attacking, a departure of such gargantuan scale came as heavy news to many.

Darnic himself couldn’t believe what was happening. He couldn’t understand why just the resignation of a military counselor would cause such a result. Not to mention, the withdrawal of members was still ongoing. More and more members were leaving the Flying Eagles. Even members of the Flying Eagles at the ancient boundary were quitting and returned to America as soon as they heard the news.

Things had become way too serious. Darnic was now shaking in fear. He didn’t know what would happen next.

A few minutes later, one of Darnic’s subordinates told him that he was to call for a Grand Conference immediately. The Grand Conference had only taken place before this after the chief was pressured by the families.

However, this time, the chief called for the conference himself.

As the conference began, the chief immediately expressed his fury. Such a grave issue had to be solved no matter what. Unfortunately, the key to the solution was Jade.

“Where’s Jade?”

“Where has Jade gone? Find Jade for me immediately!”

“And you, Darnic! As the commander of the Flying Eagles, why do you always hide at the back? If you’re so afraid of death, why are you still the commander? It’s now time to be a role model for the Flying Eagles! I order you to go to the frontline immediately and stop the demon tribe! Even if you are the only soldier left, you have to guard the ancient boundary, do you understand?!”

Hearing this, Darnic’s heart shuddered. He could even feel his legs go weak.

That afternoon, Darnic led a troop of Flying Eagles warriors and rushed to the frontline of the ancient boundary. At that time, the leopard demon had led a hundred thousand demon soldiers to their city wall. The city wall was built much like a moat. It was easy to defend but hard to attack.

Seeing this, Darnic was about to order his troops to repair the walls. That was when the leopard demon ordered an attack

He decided to attack because he could sense… That his wife had just died.

“Attack!”

The Pinnacle of Life Chapter 2018

“Attack!”

“Ahhhh!”

The hundreds of thousands of demon soldiers shouted out in unison.

Their screams were so earth-shattering. It was as if tsunamis, storms, and earthquakes all struck at the same time. Grass withered, trees fell, the air was murky with dust, and everything fell into dark and grey.

In the outpost, Darnic, who had just arrived, wasn’t yet familiar with wars. He was taken aback by the war cries.

“What’s happening? Why are those beasts outside the city wall shouting so suddenly? It’s so annoying! Any way to make them stop?” Darnic sat at the safe house behind the city walls and wouldn’t stop complaining.

Although he was a Nascent Soul, he only achieved it after consuming countless herbs and help from others due to his old age. In order to attain such powers with the help of others meant that he had a longer lifespan. However, it also meant that his actual fighting abilities were super weak.

This was because the Nascent Soul wasn’t his actual level. His own powers weren’t strong enough at all.

Although Alex appeared to still be at the Core Formation, he could easily beat Darnic with just one hand. Alex’s golden core had already achieved a level unfathomable by the regular soul. His golden core had high intensity and was extremely strong. Many mysterious powers lay within it, and it couldn’t be trounced so easily.

As his powers became stronger, so would his golden core. It was almost impossible for him to reach Nascent Soul now. He had embarked on a path no one had ever tried before.

Coming back to Darnic, just as he finished complaining, a sound loud enough to shake the mountains came from outside…

Boom!

It was the demon troops attacking the city gate. The whole city wall was shaking furiously.

On top of the city wall, countless Flying Eagle soldiers wielded long-distance weapons. There were arrows, guns, flying swords, and even mystical tools.

Thump, thump, thump!

The drums beat in unison.

“Charge!”

“Kill them!”

Myriad weapons and firepower, mystical or not, bombarded the demon troops. The battle had begun.

“Be careful of what’s coming from the sky!”

“What’s that? Oh, it’s a rock, a giant rock!”

“Be careful, everyone!”

The Flying Eagles looked up at the endless giant boulders, each as large as a hill, falling from the sky. A band of flying demons carried them in the sky and were throwing them down.

“Cannons… Fire! Fire!!!”

“Quick! Crush those flying stones!”

“Hit all those beasts flying in the air!”

Boom… Boom…

Above the city wall, shots were sent up into the air. Up to a thousand shots were sent up, and as they hit the numerous flying stones, it was as if a fireworks show was on display. The danger was resolved.

Looking at the retreating flying demons, one of the commanders felt unnerved.

Anxiously, he said, “That’s weird. The way the demons attack now is very different from how they used to. They definitely had training and are now following orders. Compared to the previous demons, these troops are disciplined.”

The co-commander at the side picked up a telescope and looked out front.

He placed it down in the face of shock and passed it to the commander. “Commander, I now know how the first thirty-six stations were so quickly abolished without anyone surviving. Look..!”

The commander took the telescope and had a look. What he saw stunned him. The stones and flying demons were just the beginning. He couldn’t believe that he actually saw hundreds and thousands of fire airships. They were being dragged along by countless flying demons, and they came rushing in waves.

By now, Darnic and the others had received news about the attack. They finally left the safe house. However, surrounding Darnic were dozens of skilled fighters, providing him the utmost protection by placing him in the middle. Thus, it would be difficult for Darnic to die.

The Pinnacle of Life Chapter 2019

“What’s the matter? What’s happening?” he asked while frowning deeply.

The commander came over. “Look, commander.”

He passed the telescope to Darnic.

Darnic took one look and immediately felt his brain go numb. Whatever he saw was simply too terrifying.

After a few seconds, he bellowed, “Go fight! What is the artillery waiting for? Go attack those fire airships now!”

“Yes!”

Boom! boom!

Shots were fired.

The soldiers who were in charge of the cannons didn’t need any powers. Many of them were extras sent by the officials. This meant that America was giving this war their all. They even brought out the nuclear weapons in this outpost.

However, in the next moment, a shocking thing happened.

On the airships were powerful demons that could turn into human form. They held weapons and magical treasures and flew in the air, stopping the cannons. They successfully stopped all the shots fired at them.

Any larger demons ranked level-six or above had strength and speed that bettered most advanced weapons. They also had a crazy defense, even if they were hit, they wouldn’t be killed. That was why the Flying Eagles were needed.

As Darnic looked through the telescope, he saw the airships getting fired upon.

“Good shot! Fire again!”

Just then, he saw something unbelievable… The airship that had been shot burst into flames midair. However, the sea of flames didn’t fall to the ground, instead turning into a flaming tornado that came straight for their outpost.

“Holy shit, what’s that?”

“That’s not fire. Those are… Bugs. Demon bugs on fire!”

These demon bugs swarmed tightly in massive numbers, covering the skies. They rushed over like locusts overrunning the prairie.

“Kill them! Kill all these demon bugs!”

“Protect the commander!”

Some of the Flying Eagles, despite their low ranks, rushed into the air, hoping to kill these flying flaming demon bugs.

“Dragon King Roar!”

Roar!!!

The Spirit Severing soldier sent out an enthusiastic sound attack. It covered the flaming demon bugs rushing over, intending to kill them in one hit. However, he immediately regretted it the next second. He had successfully killed many flaming demon bugs, but they were literally everywhere. His attack did spread out in a large area, but it couldn’t kill all of them. The surviving one-tenth began to attack him ferociously.

“Argh!!!”

The soldier screamed again, but it was too late. Hundreds of flaming demon bugs attacked his body.

Whoosh!

They crawled under his skin swiftly. In the next moment, the soldier let out a cry of pain.

“Ahhh!!!”

His body was burning from the inside out.

Orange dancing flames could be seen exiting his eyes, mouth, and ears. It was hard to imagine the pain he was in. It must have felt like an inferno.

The soldier’s cries stopped abruptly within mere seconds. He had already burned to ashes midair.

Those still in the outpost were totally shocked… The soldier who just burned to his death had Spirit Severing powers. Yet, he couldn’t win against the demon bugs. Those with lower powers wouldn’t stand a chance.

An official’s son, who had bribed his way into the squad, was terrified.

He yelled in horror, “The situation has become critical. Protect the commander first! Everyone, guard the city wall to the death. We’ll guard the commander until he leaves the ancient boundary safely before coming back to help.”

Just as he finished speaking, aloud noise came from the city gates.

The city gates had been broken down.

At the same time, countless fire airships in the sky exploded, and swarms of flaming demon bugs charged straight for the outpost in waves.

The Pinnacle of Life Chapter 2020

Whoosh!

Billions of flaming demon bugs attacked from the sky, smothering the whole outpost.

Fires burned as far as the eye could see; the sky no longer visible.

“Argh! They are coming!”

“Charge, everyone, attack!”

Boom boom boom…

Flames filled the skies, and Chi exploded everywhere. Countless shots were sent at the swarm of flaming demon bugs. The entire space trembled and was filled with light so bright it stung everyone’s eyes.

However, there were too many flaming demon bugs. It was impossible to eliminate them entirely.

The bugs swarmed right into the crowd of people in the outpost. Looking at the city gates, countless demons rushed in, shouting at the top of their lungs. Their shouts shook the grounds, and sinister Chi filled the air. Countless attacks were directed at the people. Loud cries immediately followed.

If one asked what hell looked like, it would be what was happening right now.

Countless soldiers were attacked by the flaming demon bugs. Even Spirit Severing experts were set aflame in a second. It was too frightening. They were even capable of breaking through the protection of Chi, then through the skin, before finally burning up your organs.

On the city walls, cries erupted from the squadron of burning soldiers.

At the city gates, the demon troops that just rushed in had even more destructive powers. The Flying Eagles warriors were no match to the speed of their relentless attacks.

There were a few Spirit Severing fighters at Darnic’s side who were quite skilled. Seeing the situation, they rushed forward to help. Spirit Severing fighters were still quite powerful.

Especially now that they had preparation and a few precious magical treasures, they could help turn this situation over. As long as they fought together, they had a chance at survival.

Despite that, when Darnic heard the burning soldiers’ cries of pain and saw the demon troops overpowering the city gates, he shook in fear. He couldn’t even stand straight, let alone kill the enemy.

He grabbed at two Spirit Severing fighters and nervously shouted, “You’re not allowed to leave! Protect me! I am the commander of the Flying Eagles! Your main goal now is to ensure my safety. Now, stand guard and protect me till I leave the ancient boundary.”

“What???” The few Spirit Severing fighters were stunned.

Right then, the leopard demon that lost his wife rushed up the city wall in a fury, going on a killing spree. Even if his opponent were Spirit Severing fighters, he could still kill them with ease.

One fighter immediately said, “It is unsafe here. We can’t stay longer! The commander is the Flying Eagle’s future. He has to be protected! Let’s lead the commander back to the golden era immediately. Have the others prepared!”

Soon enough, another fighter was convinced.

‘The commander is leaving. Why should we sacrifice ourselves?’

Hence, the few Spirit Severing fighters grabbed hold of Darnic and retreated from the outpost. They hurriedly passed through the hole in the ancient boundary and left the warzone.

“Die!!!”

The outpost was now a blazing ocean of flames.

Half an hour later, the Flying Eagles were defeated. The humans had lost and suffered countless casualties. A mere few were able to escape the outpost and return to America.

As a result, the outpost was conquered by the demon tribe. The hole in the ancient boundary was also theirs now.

The leopard demon was sad to lose his wife, so he was thirsty for blood. He didn’t intend to stop the war here. After a ten minute break, he rushed out of the ancient boundary to the seas of Oregon.

“Kill them!”

“I want this land to shake beneath my feet!”

“I want to stomp the Flying Eagles to the ground!”

The demon tribe covered the lands, rushing out from the ancient boundary and stepping proudly into the wastelands.

They had nothing to fear, unlike the Flying Eagles from America who had to secretly mask their entrance into the ancient boundary every time, afraid to be discovered by other countries. The demon tribe instantly wreaked havoc upon their arrival.

A few ships sailing around Japan had met the demon troops on their journey.
