Alex let out a sigh of relief.
‘It looks like the great Genbu is really reliable. It doesn’t matter who you are, not even this Yavda Akaaran Buddha, the great Genbu would make your attacks seem feeble.’
However, just as he was about to smile, the monk vanished from the carriage, appearing right in front of Alex in a blink of an eye. Then, with a dark golden fist, he swung harshly toward them.

Many members of the Plenilune Sect were watching Alex being beaten up outside of the scaffold, his blood drenching his clothes.

Hermione couldn’t say a single word. ‘Oh no, my only hope is going down.’
On the other hand, Neela was surrounded by all the corpses, lying flat on the ground. She was even being stepped on, unable to lift her head.
Seeing her master being beaten up like this, she couldn’t help but cry due to their helplessness. She thought they wouldn’t survive.

‘Couldn’t you have been of another gender?’ Alex was slightly conflicted.
He had hoped that he misheard last time, but now it was clear that the person inside him was a woman. The soul in his chest did n’t reply. Instead, a ray of light rushed out of Alex’s body.
The light was merely a figure, wrapped in a divine glow. Hence, no one was able to see their real face. Despite this, their presence was enough to show how powerful they were. It felt invincible, infinite and unexplainable. However, it was apparent that this wasn’t a man.

“Who are you?” The monk stared back at the phantom, his chest tightened.
‘Her aura is way too strong.’
“Who am I?” The woman then said coldly, “That’s not important!”
The phantom lifted her head and scanned her surroundings. She then stomped on the ground harshly.
Boom boom, crash…
The entire scaffold cracked with one stomp from this woman. Even the nine dark, resentful pillars were shattered instantly.
All nine pillars were crushed by some kind of incomparable power, turning into dust in mere seconds. The ashes were then blown out by a gust of strong wind, flowing out toward the cliff.
Alex was extremely shocked to witness this. ‘My past self was this powerful?’
He had tried breaking the pillars with his Seven Blades of Death. Hence, it was clear how tough they were. Yet his past self managed to take everything down with one mere stomp, let alone the resentment of the dead within the chained altar.
Rocks and dust flew up into the air as the ground rumbled yet again. The entire mountain was shaking, causing many to lose balance.
What was weirder was that the scaffold split right in the middle as larger boulders fell right into the crooks of the mountains. After that, rays of yellow light shone from within the ground.
The Yavda monk was shocked as well.
‘What’s underground?’
‘I’ve been here hundreds of times, yet I never knew something was buried down there.’
Just then, another mystical thing happened right in front of their eyes. The phantom stomped once more.
Boom!
Along with the loud noise, the entire scaffold and cliff looked as if they had been knocked down by a giant hammer, collapsing.
Alex immediately rushed over to get Frostine, then toward Neela…
“Ah, what’s happening?”
“The mountain is collapsing! Get back! Everyone, get back!”
The members of the Plenilune Sect screamed hysterically as the ancient buildings around the scaffold came crashing down. Everything started slanting, even the gigantic tree nearby was uprooted. Some unluckier people had fallen into the crack as well.
The scaffold was tilting downward, crumbling into pieces.
Suddenly, Alex noticed that the ground beneath his feet was shaking vigorously. The light shining from below was incredibly radiant, brimming with ancient energy. This land was slowly blinding with light, rocks falling into the crack as the underground item slowly showed itself.
Alex then saw the light from into some kind of writing…
‘Xa…’
With the earthquake continued, more words formed in the air. ‘…vion.’
‘Xavion?’
‘What does that mean?’
‘This word is hidden under the scaffold… Could this have something to do with Emperor Xavion back in ancient times?’
His questions were answered as soon as the phantom gestured toward the words. The ground below the altar let out a long cry as the scaffold was completely separated from the mountains. Something was being drawn out of the ground slowly.
At that very moment, Alex finally could see what it was. There was a large sword hidden underneath the Plenilune Scaffold.
‘It’s… The Xavion Sword!’
This sword had been securely placed within the mountains, entirely covered by the ground.
The very scaffold was built on top of the hilt of the sword. No one could’ve expected a legendary weapon to be hidden underneath with the thick mountains surrounding it.
“The Xavion Sword!”
The Yavda was so shocked to see this that it left his mouth agape. He took a glance at the phantom, surrounded by divine light, and immediately tried to grab the sword with his dark golden hand.

However, he didn’t seem to have the strength to take it.
The phantom said in her calm voice, “I didn’t expect this sword to be hidden in such a place.”
After that, the woman grabbed the sword and turned it into a three feet blade. It was ancient yet simple, a rather magnificent design. There were odd carvings on the side, which made it look even cooler. It even sounded quite pleasant as it slashed through the air.
“Ah… What a pity…” The phantom sighed as she looked at the sword.
The monk asked, “What’s a pity?”
“The fact that it would have to slay a piece of trash moments after it was brought to light”

‘Is she referring to me?’

However, the phantom swung the sword lightly, shattering all this as if it were just a dream. The monk died instantly.
After that, the phantom brought the sword with her and turned into a ray of light, dashing through the thirty-six corpses swiftly.
Peace was once again restored in this world.
The monk died, whereas the corpses returned to being mere corpses.
On the other hand, the phantom was still holding the sword. She was floating silently in the air, staring into the distance. No one knew what she was looking at, nor what she was thinking about.
As Neela returned to her human form, Alex held her and Frostine in his arms, slightly worried.
‘My past self is way too strong. Would I become like Dorothy and turn into their husk? She might take over! A woman in a man’s body… She might make changes to my body to best fit herself!’
‘She’s… Really your past self?’
Neela had received a telepathic message from Alex a while ago. Alex sounded like he was writing a will, telling her to help take care of his family if she ever returned to America.
Alex replied. ‘Yes, Daya mentioned this to me before. Our past selves are tragic lovers. We were reborn at the same time, and my past self was hidden in my chest. But she never told me that my past self was a woman.’
Neela narrowed her eyes slightly, not daring to look straight at them.

Suddenly, the phantom turned around. No one could see her face, but one could assume that she was staring at Alex.

Alex wanted to check out the Yavda monk’s corpse to see if there’s anything useful on him.

It was as if the phantom managed to wipe the monk’s existence off of this world, along with all his things.

That was out of consideration as well. Hence, he figured that it was best to find the teleportation circle himself. It was fortunate that he wasn’t in a hurry to enter the sanctuary. Alex was stunned by her response. ‘Old lady, you’re boasting a little too much there.’
‘If you really were that powerful, why would the Plenilune Sect end up like this? Not only was the sect master killed, someone had to substitute as a fake while keeping this from everyone else.’
Just then, Neela rushed over with Pros tine in her arms. When Alex was checking the treasuries out, he told Neela and Hermione to watch over Frostine.
“Sir, Sir, please take a look at her. She seems a little off. It’s like her blood is boiling like hot water. She even has steam coming out of her nose and mouth. This is probably the consequence of bloodline induced blood sacrifice.”
“She’s in critical condition!” Alex instantly felt his chest tighten.

Frostine’s body was burning hot, and she was sweating profusely. Her face and body were extremely red as if she was being steamed alive. Her breathing was rather rapid as well.
The old lady frowned as she watched Alex sweep her porcelain collection off to the floor. She was about to snap when they shattered into three small pieces but then noticed Frostine’s white, long tail.
In that instant, the old lady’s eyes lit up, seemingly excited. After that, she couldn’t care less about those porcelain sets anymore.
“She… She is…” Her voice was trembling as she reached out, trying to touch Frostine’s tail. However, Alex blocked her hand with his body.
Seeing just how critical Frostine’s condition was, he didn’t dare to hesitate any further and inserted some of his Chi into her. Hoping that this would soothe her current symptoms for now.
Just then, the old lady yelled at him fiercely. Her voice sounded like thunder. “Stop it! Are you trying to kill her?”
Alex jumped from surprise. He didn’t expect an elderly to be able to yell at such a loud volume.

The old lady rushed over and slapped Alex’s hand off harshly, scolding him. “You have no idea what you’re doing, so stop trying to make things worse! What would you do if you killed her or disable her bloodline entirely? She’s the hope of our sect!”
