Alex stared at those people. It was apparent that they were scared out of their bones. Despite multiple people attacking, he still managed to defeat them. Moreover, he had the Mystic Maiden by his side since the arrow she shot was just too frightening.

Suddenly, ten people or so rushed out from the forest. They were all in colorful clothing of various styles. All of them seemed to have clothes on, and their style was similar to the Novians they encountered before.
Judging by how they spoke, Alex was sure that these people were, in fact, trialists from Galaxy Nova.
“I want her bow!” Someone pointed towards the Mystic Maiden and yelled.
“I want that sword!”
“These two came out from the broken temple, so don’t kill them. Kill the rest.”
These Novians had surrounded them, each holding different weapons. Not only were cold weapons there, but even hot weapons. Since they had locked in their targets, these people attacked without hesitation.
Boom!
The ones with hot weapons immediately fired explosives towards Lunafreya and her group.
It was apparent that the hunter had become the prey. Lunafreya’s team had been waiting here to ambush Alex and the Mystic Maiden, yet the Novians were also right behind them.
These Novians were even stronger than Alyssa, their weapons quite exquisite too. In just a few moments, at least ten light bombs were shot toward the ‘hunters’.
Johann was the unluckiest of them all, his Immortal Wheel of Life shattered from the impact, causing a drastic drop in his strength. He was also badly wounded and being the tallest and bulkiest in the group, several bombs locked him as a target.
These hot weapons might’ve looked modern, but they were activated by Earth’s essence. It was simply extraordinary power.
“Be careful! ” someone yelled, eyes widened.
Yet it was all too late everyone here had been locked as a target. Hence, all had to face at least a bomb or two. They wouldn’t be able to save themselves even if they wanted to Johann’s body was instantly smashed. His skeleton broke into small pieces, which were sent flying into the air. His soul had been destroyed in an instant as well. The rest didn’t die, but they were currently in a poor state.
Lunafreya’s white battle suit was torn, and some of her bones were fractured.
This was because Alex had instinctively used his Xavion Sword to partially block out the attack. She would’ve ended up worse otherwise.
The most powerful out of the group was another woman. She wasn’t quite strong, but her treasures were immaculate.
A bright red fireball surrounded her as if a phoenix wrapped itself around her skeleton. This bird obstructed all the light bombs aiming for her, but she was not hurt one bit.
“Lune!” After seeing her friend getting injured, the woman rushed over, hoping to protect her companion with the phoenix.
However, her treasures were only meant to protect its wearer and would take nobody else into consideration. So even if she embraced Lunafreya tightly, she would only be able to protect her front, not her back.
Since she was unable to move freely, however, Lunafreya’s got bombed at her back
She let out a painful wail as her bones fractured.
It was fortunate that she was wearing some decent defense treasures. Along with her own mystical defense skills, she managed to partially cancel the attack. She would’ve died otherwise.

A chaperone rushed over, standing right in front of the two women, taking the attacks head-on.
His deep, black sockets seemed to be glaring at Alex with malicious intent. “Are you not going to fight back? These people are here for you. We’re being dragged into this for no reason.”
Alex shrugged. “Thanks, I guess. Want a medal for that?”
These people were here to give him trouble, too, so he obviously had no intention to save them.
Frustrated and annoyed, the chaperone had no choice but to face Novian’s hot weapon attacks. He knew that one sword wasn’t enough, so he took out another. Placing both swords in front of his body, he managed to flick the bombs away.
Alex and the Mystic Maiden, on the other hand, had been treated like mere ornaments no one paid attention to.
With that, Alex went to the Mystic Maiden’s side, disappearing from behind Lunafreya. He then hugged her tiny, boney waist and said, “I don’t think we’re needed here, so ciao!”
Lunafreya had been staring at Alex this whole while. So she was surprised, least expecting him to use Instant Teleportation.
‘Oh no, they’re going to run.’
“Wait, I know something about your companion!” she abruptly called out to Alex.
‘If I can’t find any other way around this, we’d definitely die here today.’
‘What?’ Alex froze, not activating Instant Teleportation just yet.
“You know my companion?”
At the same time, the Novians were relieved as well. When they noticed Alex using Instant Teleportation, they knew that something wasn’t right.
‘The two most important people here must be trying to escape…’
‘Huh.. Yet again, they have exceeded our expectations.’
In reality, this group consisted of the first four trialists who first appeared in Galaxy Nova. When Alyssa died, they summoned someone capable and found out that some natives had likely mastered the power of ancient Buddhism. After hearing that, these people were shocked to the core.
They all thought that only those who had mastered the powers of ancient Buddhism could genuinely enter the Dairaionji Temple.
As it’d been many years since anyone with ancient Buddhist power showed up, they figured that this was a rare opportunity. They then proceeded to look for whatever information they could find on Alex and his group.
It was a pity that Alex and the others set their hearts on researching bone patterns after obtaining Alyssa’s ring. Locking themselves up in the cave for three months, the Novians couldn’t find any clues on them at all.
Later on, the group left the cave and found the Shoraionji Temple.
However, as Alex went deeper into the temple, Daya and the others went back to the cave so they could hide. Yet the Novians found their tracks, which was why Daya left a message and told him that they had been chased down by the Novian trialists for a year.
It was fortunate that these people weren’t all that strong, so their ambush ended up in them being defeated instead.
Yet this team was clearly stronger. They knew that the dilapidated temple was special since they were unable to break the door open despite using every way they could think of. It was simply unusual…
After that, they even found out that Daya had left a message around, so they figured there must be some sort of big secret hidden within.
Despite this, Daya was just too tremendously strong. She had lots of miraculous skills up her sleeve as well. They couldn’t get a hold of her, so they could only stay here and be on standby.
Now that Alex and Mystic Maiden had shown up, they didn’t expect Lunafreya’s surprise attack, let alone the fact that Alex knew about Instant Teleportation.
“Theela, seal this space!” someone shouted.
Just then, some person in a purple suit grabbed more than twenty flags and stuck them into the ground at the speed of lightning. Placed in an odd formation, the flags glistened with a mysterious glow. Energy flowed about, shooting rays of light as the flags burrowed into the ground.
With this, this place was locked down. Alex couldn’t continue teleporting. Alex glanced at the flag, then at the formation on the ground. He couldn’t help but smile srnugly, his eyes tinted with disdain.
“These formation flags are pretty good, but your formations are just puny. What trash!”
After making this remark, he waved to Lunafreya. “Do you really know information about my companion? Then come over here and seal off your powers. I will ensure that you don’t die.”

“What? You want me to seal my powers?”
“No way!” Lunafreya shouted so hard that she didn’t even sound like herself.
To her, sealing her powers in this situation was no different than committing suicide. Her companions were yelling back as well, saying that this was wishful thinking on Alex’s end.
This was especially true for the chaperone, who has been quiet this whole time, Alex’s words formed thorns in his heart, causing him to glare at Alex with sheer rage. “In your dreams! How dumb can you be? These outsiders had set up a formation, they’ re here to capture you! Not only do you refuse to cooperate with us, but you want us to seal our powers? What are you? A twat?”
“Awh… You even know how to call us twats. Very good! Then just treat me like a twat. If you’re that smart, then go fight them yourself!” Alex shrugged nonchalantly.
“You think I’d be scared? I just don’t want to take the fall!”
“Then leave. No one’s stopping you.”
The chaperone was so angry that he nearly vomited blood.
They couldn‘t escape, and the Novian trialists were treating them like weaklings. They wanted to kill them off as a threat to Alex.
‘F*ck. There’s nothing worse than this.’
Despite this, Alex stood still, neither helping nor running.
If the Novians hadn’t set up the flag formation, he wasn’t sure that he could turn this around. Yet, the circumstances had changed. He realized that those formation flags were a wonderful set of mystical tools.
However, the formation setter wasn’t quite familiar with formations. They were wasting all potential of this treasure and only managed to set up a trashy formation. Alex was able to break out of this within seconds, and he had taken the set of flags as his own. With these formation flags in hand, he would be even more powerful within the Underworld.
Mystic Maiden was interested in the flags as well. She asked Alex telepathically to snatch it over.
“Don’t worry. I was just going to!” Alex responded.
He had inserted his divine conscience into the ground, using the Chaos roots to burrow further. He then managed to surround all twenty-four flags. Hence, he would be able to activate them whenever he wanted to.
He would break through this formation, plus he could take this mystical tool as his own.
The battle was still ongoing at the time.
Even though the chaperone was quite strong, he still couldn’t handle this many Novian trialists at once despite using all his treasures. Within minutes, his defense broke through. With dozens of fractured bones, that significant impact nearly killed him.
He fell next to Alex’s feet with a loud thud, unable to crawl back up no matter how much he wanted to.
“Is that all you’ve got?” Alex lowered his head to meet his gaze, shrugging.
Ring…
The chaperone felt immense embarrassment within his soul. Unable to bear the humiliation, he fainted instead.
“I agree!”
“We agree to seal our powers!”
Suddenly, Lunafreya’s best friend rushed over and hugged her tightly, yelling, “Okay, we’ll seal our powers away and join your team! But you have to keep your word and protect us then we’ll tell you information about your companion. Don’t worry. We won’t disappoint you.”
Lunafreya was obviously unhappy with her best friend’s decision. She wanted to struggle free.

“Ahhh!” The woman screamed. She froze, realizing that she had lost contact with her own flags.
Someone asked, “Theela, what’s with you? Can’t you be a little quicker?”
Theela replied. “I… I can’t sense my flags anymore.”
“What?!”
Just then, all twenty four formation flags popped out of the ground, floating in mid-air. Fluttering in the wind, they radiated with a bright light.
Theela was overjoyed. “My flags appeared!”
Alex spoke up indifferently. “No, they’re mine!”
This time, he spoke in Novian to them.
“Huh?”
“You can speak our language? Are you not natives? Could you be from Galaxy Nova too?”
“It’s possible that he’s someone from the previous rounds, and he might’ve stolen someone’s chance…”
The trialists froze, making assumptions amongst themselves.
In just a few moments, someone yelled at everyone. “Stop guessing blindly. Have you all forgotten that those punks back in Purple Cloud Academy have mentioned that the daughter of the Huffman family has been killed by them?”
“As a Huffman, she must have brought along a communication scripture. If they obtained that, it would be normal for them to have learned our language.”
That person then turned to look at Alex. “Am I right about that, huh?”
Alex nodded. “Bingo!”
Theela, however, only cared about her flags. That was because these flags were worth a lot, and they were vital to her. She couldn’t afford to lose them, so she used all her mental power this time, hoping to take the flags back.
To her demise, the flags didn’t respond to her powers one bit. It was as if they were no longer hers.
“You… What did you do to my flags?” Theela shouted, seemingly panicked.
“I said… This is mine! Don’t you dare try to steal it!” Alex couldn’t stress enough, visibly annoyed.
Enraged, Theela turned to the person next to her. “Brother, capture him now and help me get my flags back! If I lost them, grandpa would kill me!”
That brother of hers immediately signaled to his group. “Attack!”
Suddenly, the twenty four formation flags were activated once again, forced into the ground at the speed of lightning. However, the positions were completely different from before.
Whoosh!
Rays of light shot into the air as the flags brimm ed with an aura a hundredfold stronger. It was as if every one of those formation flags had turned into ancient spiritual gods, looming over the entire formation.
All the trialists were trapped within the formation.
“Ahhh, what is that?”
“What’s happening? Where did these damn things come from?”
The people inside were screaming as their voices trembled with absolute fear.
Alex replied. “This is the correct way to use the twenty four formation flags. You people have been limiting its potential. That’s why you don’t deserve to own such a treasure.”
Lunafreya and the others were utterly shocked as well.
“This guy is also a master of formations?”
“Lune, don’t you admire these people the most? This must be fate! Come one now, show him your big Lunas, conquer his heart!”
Lunefreya was extremely mad and embarrassed. She wished she could tear her best friend’s mouth off of her face.
On the other hand, Alex decided to ignore the trialists and dragged Lunafreya aside. “You said you knew something about my companion. Then tell me, what does she look like? If you were trying to trick me, I’d be sure to make you into a piece of mooncake!”

Lunafreya felt like she was going to die from embarrassment. Her name was never Lunafreya, to begin with, her actual name being Luneth Mueller. Yet her best friend was simply shameless, she started calling her a ‘Luna Freya’ in private due to her well-developed chest. After that, this nickname accidentally leaked to everyone they knew, turning into her actual pseudonym.
At this point in time, her real name wasn’t used as often, yet this odd nickname spread across her nation like wildfire.
Now, this disgusting man was claiming that he’d turn her into a mooncake.
‘Doesn’t that mean he’d flatten me?’
“It was a woman in a red battlesuit! She had a pig demon following her too, and it’s super fast!” She decided to describe how Daya looked so Alex could clear his doubts about her.
She then added, “These outsiders were trying to capture your friends before, but they managed to escape.”
“Is that all?” Alex asked coldly.
‘What use is this information?’
Luneth stared back at him, knowing that she wouldn’t be able to escape in one piece if she didn’t give him anything useful. In the end, she blurted, “Your friend encountered a bunch of people; I know who they are too. They’re infamous for resorting to extremes as long as they achieve what they want.”
“I heard they set up a trap in the east to lure in trialists, so they’d jump into the pit out of their own will. Your friends may have been tricked. If you want to save them, I’ll lead the way.”
Alex felt his heart drop after hearing this. Thinking back to the message Daya left, she did, in fact, mention that she was heading towards the east. He used his divine eye to check Luneth’s attitude. Since they were mere skeletons, it would be hard to properly gauge her sincerity but she seemed trustworthy for now.
“The east? Where exactly?”
Luneth started negotiating. “I can tell you, but you have to let my people go.”
Alex didn’t really care about these people’s lives, he was just very worried about Daya and the others. He didn’t feel the need to negotiate further. “Alright, I can accept those terms, but you have to come with me.”
Luneth nodded. “Deal!”
Her best friend immediately spoke up as well. “No way. Lune, we’re supposed to stick together! How could I let you venture on your own? If you’re leading the way, then count me in! Even if we’re going to be slaves, we’ll be by your side. Am I right? Chase, Kai, Serpent?”
Chase was Luneth’s chaperone. At the time, he had already woken up from his unconscious state. Hearing the woman’s words, he nodded immediately. “That’s right. We should stick together through thick and thin, even if we’re servants.”
The two men, however, remained silent, clearly having their own opinions on this matter.
The woman was unhappy. “Kai, Serpent, what’s with you guys? Why aren’t you saying anything? Don’t you think likewise? Are you saying that you’d rather Luneth sacrifice herself to save you two?”
Luneth said, “Cecilia, don’t say that. You guys don’t need to stay with me…”
As she said that, Kai immediately spoke up. “Lune, take care!”
After that, he ran off into the forest as if he were a ray of light.
Serpent was quick to catch up as well. “Lune, we’ll be sure to thank you greatly after we head back to the Great Northern!”
As the words “The Great Northern” could be heard, that man disappeared into the woods as well.
Cecilia Fox shouted to them in her high-pitched voice, “Kayden Morritt, Serafin Godwin you two cowards, unloyalty traitors! From this day on, I’m through with the both of you! I’ll just pretend that I met two b*tches!”
Luneth added, “You and Chase should leave too. And I mean now.”
Yet Cecilia refused. She even mentioned how she’d like to die on the very same day as Luneth…
Alex didn’t care much about all this, currently focused on the situation within the formation. The formation he did with the flags was a variation from the Seven Death Formation Diagram. He had used this formation before, but this flag set gave him quite the surprise.
It would seem that he had underestimated it, despite being rather impressed by its powers already.
All the formation flags have been fully activated, turning into the phantoms of twenty four giant spiritual gods. They surrounded the Novian trialists, attacking them ferociously. It seemed as if they wanted to slaughter every single person within the formation.
