Alex quickly stepped back and stared at that eerie ball of flame.
‘This used to be Dorothy’s consciousness.’
“The flame was so aggressive and violent that even the soul of someone as powerful as the princess got burned just like that in a matter of seconds.’
‘Then, has Dorothy’s consciousness been burned as well?’
Worried, Alex stared unfazed at the flame. Then, he found out that as soon as the princess died, the golden flame instantly extinguished. Not even a spark was left, and none remained on the ground of her consciousness.
“What was that then?”
“How did it light up?”
Alex still felt lingering fears. When he was facing that ball of fire, he knew that he would likely perish if he were to be burned to death as well.
‘How did the fire start out of nowhere?’
‘Could it be some sort of flame of inhibition? Her final words were about the Emperor… Could she have found out some truth at the end of her life?’
‘Was it an attack by the Emperor of the Underworld?’
Alex could only guess, but he had no answer to it.
The Emperor of the Underworld referred to an invincible demon that strayed from the River Styx and started his own crew, then finally was suppressed by Dairaionji Temple.
The corpse princess was dead. Other than a little spooked, Alex felt nothing else. He immediately went over to observe Dorothy’s sealed soul.
A few minutes later, he realized that the seal wasn’t too secure. With his abilities, he could definitely unseal it. Nonetheless, he needed some time.
Whoosh.
Alex’s soul returned to his body.
After explaining the situation to Xerxes and Pigsy, he returned, getting ready to unseal her.
Outside, the skies had darkened, and it was breezy. The seas were quiet.
Xerxes and Pigsy sat facing one another, in between them a huge pile of bones with gold bone patterns. These had been picked up from the battlefield before. They were the dark golden bone demons killed by Alex.
Pigsy was touched, it felt like crying. “I’ve been in the Underworld for some years and strayed everyday, but I’ve never had a full stomach.”
“And don’ t even mention these dark golden bone patterns. Even if they were red, it was never my turn to consuming them. I’d have never thought I’d have the chance to eat all I want!”
Xerxes was moved. “You’re a treasure hunting pig. How did you get so poor? That’s rare to see.”
Pigsy said, “I… I am a little unlucky.”
Xerxes gestured his hand at the bones. “You start first!”
If Pigsy were in his flesh right now, he would’ve long been dripping in saliva. When he heard Xerxes’ words, he no longer held back. He grabbed the biggest bone and took a big bite.
Then, in the next second, another tragedy broke out.
“Arghhh!”
With a painful scream, Pigsy was sent flying by those dark golden bone patterns.
“What’s with this?!”
“Why can’t I swallow them?”
Xerxes’s hand went to his head. “Oh, I remember! These bone demons belonged to the princess! She had her demons processed, so they contained a special energy of the Underworld. Generally, trialists can’t eat them, and they would be harmful to those who try.”
“Huh?” Pigsy put on a face. “Then why did we go through the hard work of collecting the demons? Isn’t it a waste?”
Xerxes said, “Well, it’ s not. There’s still some use. I can eat them.”
Pigsy was excited again. “How? Teach me!”
“I can’t. I’ve swallowed the princess’ Spiritual Corpse Core. That’s why I can eat them,” Xerxes sighed.
“F*ck this!” Pigsy threw the bones on the ground. It felt like crying, but no tears came out.

Within Dorothy’s consciousness, it appeared like an actual sea. The sea sparkled under the sunlight, and steam rose up in the air. There were even Regulation Runes flowing within it.
Never noticing it before, Alex had just realized now how special Dorothy’s consciousness was. It had a huge difference with his.
“Is this because of the reincarnation?”
Alex was stunned, jealous even. Such a rare consciousness was one in a million.

However, the thought of part of her soul being destroyed made Alex wonder if she’d already noticed. If she had, Alex knew that she’d be outraged, which made him feel quite joyful.
Finally, he was close to where Dorothy was sealed. He didn’t act immediately, afraid of causing a bad reaction. He had to be very careful. He used his soul power to feel and touch the space.
In the next second, he was absorbed into a dimension of thought.
It seemed to be Dorothy’s thoughts. To be exact, her current thoughts…

It was followed by a sad laugh.

‘Am I about to lose my memories?’
“Hmph… ” Finally, there was a long sigh.
Alex almost cried hearing that “It’s not a hallucination. It’s real! I’m here!”
His soul power vibrated, pushing in with full force. With force, a hole was punctured through the seal, and he went in…
The inside looked like a flipped bowl, a large and tall space. Dorothy’s soul was shrunk up in a corner, her hands hugging her knees as she looked up to the sky. Heavy fog surrounded her, clouding her view, but she knew that the voice had originated from there.
Just then, something smashed downwards through the mists like a worn sack, landing right by her feet. Startled, Dorothy kicked it away.
Thud!
Alex’s soul had left his body to come here. Now that it was sent flying into the air, he almost shattered to pieces, causing him to vomit blood. “Do you want to murder your husband? You almost kicked me to death!”
Alex stood up and walked out from the mists. He appeared in front of the woman.
“Hon… honey?”
“Are you surprised? Are you shocked?” Alex held out his arms and gave her his brightest, most sincere smile. Here, he wasn’t in skeleton form but in human form. Dorothy quickly got up and rushed forward.
However, she paused for a moment, looking uncertain, afraid it was simply her imagination. She even asked Alex about a few secrets only they knew, like where they had their first night together, who took the lead, and the details of their first date.
She was then sure that it was actually him, as Alex managed to answer every single one of those questions accurately. She pounced onto Alex and cried out loud. She sobbed for a long time.
Alex’s soul comforted her gently and said, “I’ll get you out of here and you’ll regain control of your body.”

“What about her? She won’t agree to this, right?” asked Dorothy.
At the mention of Xienna, all positive feelings ceased to exist in Dorothy’s heart, and all that was left was hatred.
Xienna had suppressed her while she was in a weak state after giving birth. She gave no bother and locked her up in the corner of her consciousness like a lab rat, waiting for her to lose her memories of this life, to forget about the people she loved most.
‘What was the point of having such a past life?’
Alex told her about everything that happened in the Underworld, it was a rare chance to regain control of herself again, as long as they could break the seal. Later on, they could come up with a plan to fight Xienna.
“Don’t speak, just kiss me!”
“I need your love!” Dorothy suddenly said.
The two souls embraced and started making out, it just happened naturally.
Five minutes later, Alex let go of her. The comfort and understanding between two loving souls were indescribable. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the right place for them to act lovey-dovey, there could be danger in the outside world at any second.
“Break!”
Alex’s soul and body combined once again.
After quite a bit of grinding, the seal was finally broken. Cracks began to Spiderweb on the large flipped bowl until it finally shattered into pieces.
Alex grabbed Dorothy and took a step out.
“Uhm, there’s one thing you need to know ahead.” Alex gave an early warning. “Trialists who enter this land are deprived of their flesh… There’s only the skeleton and soul left, so don’t be afraid when you see how I look.”
Dorothy nodded.
When her soul had sunken back into her body, Dorothy felt a long lost feeling of calm. She almost felt reborn. Nonetheless, she still shuddered when she saw Alex in his skeleton state.
It took her a good while to get used to it.
“This is Xerxes, Commander Benmore’s… Ex-husband, one of the principals of Flying Eagles Academy.”
Dorothy had heard of him before, so she didn’t give many reactions, but she was very interested in Pigsy. On the other hand, Alex hadn’t forgotten his initial goal, which was to search for Daya and the others. He immediately dragged Felicity over and asked about their whereabouts.
“Heh! the ones you mentioned are dead!” Felicity said viciously.
Her brother was dead, and she was just about as equal to a vegetative state. Hence, the last thing she’d do was cooperate with these people. She was even ready to face the worst.
Alex shook his head. “You’re lying!”
With that, he slapped the top of Felicity’ s skull. He was going to search her soul.
The results weren’t all that bad.
The people of Silent Hill didn’t kill Daya and the others. They simply had the intention because they had their eye on Daya’s treasure and wanted it for their own.
Luckily, Daya and the others got away in time, but they weren’t in a good state. Daya was severely injured, and it was unknown if she was still alive at this point.
“Damn it!” Alex was furious and killed Felicity with a mere slap.
“The magic mountain on the sea?”
“Or should we go find Luneth and Immortal Bird?”
He turned to ask Xerxes, “Principal Lerwin, could you contact your wife?”
Xerxes nodded. “She’s already here.”
Alex fell silent. Only then did he know that Xerxes’ soul was connected to the golden boat, and he could control it from a long distance. He could even see the surroundings around the boat.
While Alex was freeing Dorothy, Xerxes had also contacted Mandy and guided the boat here.
Three minutes later, the boat was still not there. Instead, the levitating tomb arrived. It looked like a majestic mountain, and its aura was distressing.
“It’s found its way here!” Pigsy’s voice quavered.

An actual 5 foot tiny monk. He was short, with the face of a young teenager of around fourteen. Despite his innocent looks, his entire body radiated with holy light, with thousands and thousands of Buddhist talismans around him. There was even a golden halo behind his head.
That was the symbol of a golden body of a Bodhi. Within the halo was some pattern of a flower.
Upon further inspection, it was actually a spider lily.
“Oh my lord, who is this? Where did he come from?” Pigsy jumped and blurted out from shock.
The little monk solemnly clasped his hands. “Amitabha!”
“That… Bodhi statue?” Quick witted, Xerxes realized where the monk came from.
In actual fact, they shouldn’t be calling it a little monk. It was a small Bodhi, after all. Apart from his innocent face, everything else was there. He looked somewhat similar to a Bodhi statue.
The little Bodhi nodded. “I am… The Palatial.”
Alex had heard of this title quite a while ago, but Xerxes and Dorothy had not. They both expressed their confusion towards this situation.
The Palatial Bodhi said, “It’s unsurprising that you’ve never heard of me. I haven’t left the Underworld since I became a Bodhi, after all. I’m the guardian of the Dairaionji Temple and have been guarding this entire world against the start.”
“Huh?” Alex was shocked. “You’re the guardian of this temple? Aren’t you supposed to be at Shoraionji Temple?”
The Palatial Bodhi grinned. “It would seem that you have been to Shoraionji Temple, good sir.”
Alex rubbed his nose, admitting to it with his silence.
“If you’ve been to the Shoraionji Temple, that means Buddhism must be in your destiny. You might even become one of us in the future…”
“It’s not hard to explain, really. The Shoraionji Temple is placed on the axis of this place, and it’s directly connected to the Dairaionji Temple.”
“And I, myself, am the God that rules over the Underworld. I guide the evil to good, as I should!”
“Oh..!” Pigsy’s mouth was agape from the sheer shock.
‘This is the god who rules over the Underworld, so that must mean he is truly a powerful being!’
Alex immediately paid his respects, placing both hands together as well. “Thank you for your help. We wouldn’t have been able to escape otherwise.”
Everyone witnessed this, and they all saw how the Bodhi statue turned into a ray of light and was shot right into Alex.
Alex could slaughter their enemies after that as if the God of Death had possessed him. Yet all this was because he received the help of the statue.
Pigsy was slightly upset. “Awh… If I had known that earlier, I would’ve become a Buddhist before coming here! Having a powerful Bodhi as my teacher might grant me quite a few benefits.”
The Palatial Bodhi smiled. “It’s not too late to become one of us!”
Pigsy instantly raised the question. “What’s in it for me?”
The Palatial Bodhi said, “We Buddhists are merciful, hoping to help every single being achieve peace within themselves. If one were to join our forces, they would be recognized by the Bodhi as well.”
Pigsy shook its head. “I’m a pig, so my comprehension is limited. I don’t understand what you mean. Just tell me, would we be able to take that floating mountain there?”
Dorothy was most shocked, however.
Her soul had just returned not long ago and her current knowledge and skills were far behind Alex. She wasn’t used to this at all.
She had received lots of information before Xienna was awakened, but she was still anxious about the presence of such a powerful being- the Underworld Tomb.
Unexpectedly, the Palatial Bodhi asked, “What’s so difficult about that?”
“I am the god who suppressed the Emperor of the Underworld, guardian of the Dairaionji Temple. It would be more than simple to handle a tomb that’s nothing but a shell.”
Upon hearing this, everyone was finally able to relax.
However, as the tomb continued to approach slowly, Xerxes suddenly shouted. “Crap, something’s gone wrong.”
“What is it?” Alex asked.
“Mandy and the others are up there!”
“What?” Alex was stunned.
Activating his divine eye, he noticed that the tomb actually looked like a large, diamond shaped mountain. It had two sections, with the top a regular mountain, filled with forests and rivers. Some even saw streams of waterfalls crashing down the mountainside.
It looked like a beautiful painting, surrounded with divine energy that would attract many.
As for the bottom part, it seemed to be an underground mountain rock, but many pitch-bla ck caves also dotted it.
The millions of tombs that appeared just a while ago had emerged from those very caves.
The Pinnacle of Life Chapter 2635
At the time, one of the caves was brimming with golden light. There was something in there. It was Xerxes’ golden bamboo boat.
“There’s something off about the tomb. I’ve lost contact with my boat,” Xerxes said.
His senses were not the type that allowed him to see it with his own eyes, else he would’ve been able to feel the oddities long ago.
Alex nodded since he had also lost contact with the Mystic Maiden, despite their contract. However, he was able to see her clearly. She was currently stuck within that cave.
“We’ll be relying on you then,” Alex turned to the Palatial Bodhi. “Once we get back, I’ll definitely build a large shrine for you so that we can worship your statue.”
The Palatial Bodhi smiled. “Amitabha, but I still need to borrow some of your holy powers.”
Since lives were at stake, Alex gave a portion of his divine power to him without any hesitation. The Bodhi seemed quite satisfied with this. Suddenly, he turned into a ray of golden light, flying straight up and completely ignoring the physics of this realm.
Boom.
A mere punch was enough to shake the entire tomb, causing the mountains to rumble. The impact spun the tomb, and it backed away from the Bodhi in mid-air.
With another punch, the tomb completely shattered under his fist. This made everyone on the boat widen their eyes in disbelief as they continued watching this from afar.
Pigsy’s jaw dropped. “That’s insane. This Bodhi’s powers make me feel like I’m seeing Buddha himself!”
Xerxes nodded. “He’s so strong that no one would even dare to say anything negative about him.”
On the other hand, Dorothy frowned slightly. “It just feels oddly unreal. This Bodhi… He just feels kind of weird.”
Alex replied. “It’s probably because he looks too young, an innocent minor. But everything in this place is pretty weird anyway. So a strange, tiny Bodhi is just ordinary at this point.”
In just a few moments, the Palatial Bodhi dragged the golden boat back to them. Xerxes ran over immediately, embracing Mandy tightly with his arms.
The Mystic Maiden rushed over and caressed Alex gently. “Did anything bad happen to you?”
Alex shook his head, then introduced Dorothy to everyone with a bright smile.
After that, he took out the Chaos Bead that he snatched from Freeborn Garredib, handing it to the Mystic Maiden.
“Another Chaos Bead?!” she exclaimed.
“Is it of any use for your body?”
“Of course! With this Chaos Bead, the effects would be greater than having ten dark golden bone demons. And it’s the most compatible with my body too.”

Prince Baton was elated!
He had been looking for this kid for several days, and the trialists under him also suffered many losses, which made him very cranky this time.
Alex’s body was in possession of the ancient holy Buddhist relic! It was the key to him leaving the underworld, so he absolutely couldn’t miss it.
