Ch. 2441..2450
The Three Little Guardian Angels Chapter 2441
Before Cameron could finish her sentence, a car rushed toward them at high speed. Cameron tapped on the steering wheel, and the sharp screeching sound of tires followed.
Daisie grabbed onto the seat belt and protected her belly while keeping her eyes tightly shut.
They couldn’t avoid the car and bumped into the car in front of them.
That immediately caused a chain accident.
Cameron ignored her own pain and stretched her hand toward Daisie. “Daisie, are you alright?”
She turned to look at Daisie in the passenger’s seat. She was shaking, and her face was pale because she was shocked. “I… I’m fine, but my belly hurts.”
Cameron saw blood running down her legs, so she immediately unbuckled her belt and got out of the car. She grabbed the driver who came down to take a look. “Please drive us to the hospital. My friend is injured!”
Cameron pulled Daisie out of the car and saw the blood running down her legs. The kind driver immediately drove them to the nearest hospital.
Waylon was halfway through a meeting in the meeting room when his phone vibrated. He picked it up and saw that Cameron was calling.
“I’m sorry, I need to take this.” Waylon got up, patted Leonardo’s shoulder, and walked out. Leonardo took over the meeting.
He answered, “What’s going on?”
Cameron said something to him, and his face turned gloomy. “Send the address to me, I’ll get there immediately.”
Cameron paced the corridor anxiously. The smell of sanitizer in the hospital made her even more anxious, but soon after, Nollace, Maisie, and Nolan got there.
Maisie rushed toward Cameron. “Where’s Daisie? How is she?”
“She’s still inside…” She sounded tired because she was feeling guilty and blamed herself because she was the reason they were in an accident.
Nollace looked sullen. “What happened?”
Cameron looked down. “I don’t know. I was just driving when a car suddenly rushed toward us. I avoided it… I’m sorry, this is all my fault. I shouldn’t have asked her to go out with me.”
If anything happened to Daisie and the baby, what would she do? She would probably regret it for the rest of her life.
Nollace balled up his fists and walked over to the obstetric ward after some time.
Maisie walked closer to Cameron and held her hand. “It’s alright, don’t blame yourself. All that matters is that you’re both safe. We’ll see how Daisie is.”
Cameron pressed her lips together.
Maisie and Nolan headed to the obstetric ward too.
Waylon walked out of the elevator and called out to Cameron. She turned around, and he stopped in front of her. “Are you alright?”
She shook her head while her eyes turned red. “Daisie might…”
He took a deep breath and looked toward the ward. Daisie was still in the early stages of her pregnancy. If anything happened, it would be difficult to explain to Nollace.
In the room…
Daisie was still out cold. Nollace stood next to her bed, looking anxious.
Maisie and Nolan asked the doctor how Daisie was at the door, then they asked about the child.
The doctor calmly replied, “She’s in danger of a miscarriage, but we’ve given her some medication to stabilize the baby. She’ll need to stay here for observation and take Vitamin E. It will probably take around a week before things stabilize.
Maisie finally gave a sigh of relief and nodded. “Alright, thank you.”
After the doctor walked away, Maisie looked into the room. To a pregnant mother, a miscarriage would be devastating, so she hoped that her child would never have to go through that.
The Three Little Guardian Angels Chapter 2442
Nolan pulled Maisie into his arms. “Alright, Daisie is safe now, so there’s no need to worry.”
Waylon and Cameron walked over. “Dad, Mom.”
Maisie got out of Nolan’s embrace, wiped her tears, and smiled. “Your sister and nephew are alright.”
Waylon smiled too. “That’s great.”
Cameron looked toward the ward. Even though they were both safe, she was still burdened.
Daisie woke up at 1:00 p.m. and saw Nollace dozing off next to her bed. She raised her hand and touched his face.
Nollace slowly opened his eyes, looked into her, and held her hand that was on his face. “You’re awake.” She beamed.
Nollace kissed her fingers. “You don’t know how worried I am…”
Daisie turned to face him and chuckled. “I’m fine.”
“You’re laughing?” Nollace gently knocked her head and leaned in closer. “I would go crazy if anything happened to you.”
Daisie laughed but suddenly recalled something and immediately sat up straight before touching her belly. “What about the baby?”
He smiled and patted her head. “Don’t worry. Our baby is still fine.”
She held his hand and said in a serious tone, “You can’t blame Cameron. It’s not her fault.”
Nollace looked at her and asked, “This is what you’re worried about?”
“Of course. If Cameron didn’t swerve, we might not have only ended up with minor injuries. If you blamed Cameron for this, I would feel terrible.”
Nollace tilted his head and couldn’t help but smile after seeing how serious she was.
Daisie leaned close to his face. “Why are you smiling?”
Nollace broke into a laugh.
Daisie shoved him. “Why are you laughing?”
Nollace held out his arm, hugged her, and brushed his lips against his cheeks. “You’re so silly.”
She lay down on his lap and smiled proudly. “Silly people are happier.”
He held up her hair and kissed it. “I guess I have to deal with having a silly wife for the rest of my life, then.”
Daisie smiled widely.
The following day, Cameron and Waylon went to the traffic police to look into the footage from the previous night. In the recording, a car was following them.
At the junction, that car suddenly drove next to them and rushed toward them. Since there were cars on either side, Cameron couldn’t avoid the car, so she had to swerve and crash into the car in front of them on the left.
Cameron watched the footage and understood something. Waylon turned to ask the officer, “How was it dealt with?”
The traffic police officer replied, “The driver wasn’t drunk driving, and we can’t dismiss the possibility that the car had problems. We suspect that the driver might be high on drugs, so the person is still being detained for questioning.”
Waylon and Cameron then went to the police station and met the driver, who was in the interrogation room and kept claiming that he wasn’t under the influence. The car malfunctioned.
The officer questioning him raised his brows. “Your car is being inspected, and we didn’t find any problems with it.”
The driver clenched his jaw. “It malfunctioned. My brakes didn’t work. Why would I put my life at stake?”
The officers looked at each other because they couldn’t find fault in the statement. There weren’t any signs of substances in his blood work either.
The officers walked out of the room and bumped into Waylon, who looked toward the window. “Can I speak to him? It’ll just take ten minutes.”
The Three Little Guardian Angels Chapter 2443
The officer hesitated before nodding in approval.
Waylon walked into the room, pulled out a chair, and sat down. The man had his head low as beads of sweat formed on his forehead.
He looked at him for a moment. “I heard your car malfunctioned, and that was why it was out of control, right?”
The man carefully looked up. “Yes.”
Waylon squinted. “Are you sure?”
The man was anxious. “I told you it was a malfunction. Why do you think I would put my life at risk?” Waylon calmly took out his phone, opened the footage of the accident, and placed the phone in front of him. He watched it while his eyes darted around. “What is this…”
Waylon crossed his fingers, rested his chin on them, and stared at the man sharply as though he could see through him. “What if you knew you wouldn’t be in danger?”
The man balled up his hands that were resting on his thighs as chills ran down his spine.
Waylon placed his hands on the table and leaned forward. “You knew that you wouldn’t be in danger because your target would avoid you, and since there weren’t a lot of cars on the road, even if something happened, with the speed that wasn’t too fast, your car wouldn’t be too badly damaged if there was a collision.
The man’s eyes showed guilt. “That’s funny. I have no idea what you’re talking about. You think I did that intentionally, so why did I not crash into any other car but that one?”
He then smiled and said, “Would I know that that car would be there at that time?”
Waylon smiled. “Of course you would.”
Waylon pointed at the car next to Cameron. “That’s someone you know, right? If he followed them, you would know where they were headed and on which route.”
The man’s face turned pale. “I don’t know them.”
“We’ll just need to do a bit of digging to find out if you know each other.” Waylon crossed his arms and leaned back. “Do you know that people’s expressions usually betray them when they lie?”
Waylon’s eyes were sharp like a knife. The man didn’t dare look at him, and his sweat soaked his hair. He started shaking.
Waylon kept his eyes on him. “Do you know the consequences of intentionally causing an accident?” The man clenched his jaw. “I didn’t cause an accident. You don’t have evidence.”
“You want evidence?”
The man fell silent.
Waylon slowly stood up. “It’s fine if you don’t want to talk, but let me remind you. If I find evidence, you’re not going to get out of this easily.”
Waylon walked out of the room after that.
Cameron was waiting in the corridor. When Waylon showed up, she walked over. “How did it go?”
Waylon put his hands in his pockets and smiled. “He did it intentionally.”
“What?” Cameron frowned. “So, it wasn’t a malfunction?”
Waylon looked around and hugged her by her shoulders as he escorted her out of the police station. When they got to the car, Cameron turned around. “I asked you a question.”
Waylon placed his hand on the door handle and leaned in. “It’s not the best place to talk. Get in.”
Cameron paused, then pushed him away. “Should have said that.”
She opened the door and got in.
At the hospital….
Waylon and Cameron walked to the room and opened the door. They saw Nollace handing Daisie some
medication.
“It’s so bitter.”
The Three Little Guardian Angels Chapter 2444
“You have to take your medicine.”
“But it’s so bitter.”
Nollace smiled. “You want me to feed you?”
“Ahem.” Waylon interrupted and smiled. “Don’t mind us watching?”
Daisie was surprised and awkwardly hid in Nollace’s arms. “Waylon!”
Waylon smiled. “We could leave.”
Nollace looked at them and asked, “Why are you here?”
Cameron walked to the bed. “We went to take a look at the video footage.”
Daisie looked up at them. “Of the accident?”
Cameron nodded. “It was intentional.”
Daisie paused for a second, then lowered her head. “But… I’m glad you’re fine.”
Daisie held her hand and smiled. “Cam, don’t blame yourself. It’s not your fault.”
Waylon pulled up a chair and sat down. “Alright, we have work to do. We need to find evidence that he had it planned.”
In the room, Waylon told them about the results of the investigation. The accident was intentionally caused, and it was planned. As such, someone else must have been involved.
Nollace leaned against the window and crossed his arms with a calm expression. “So, someone is behind this.”
Waylon slowly got up. “Exactly. We need to lure them out.”
Cameron had a feeling that something was off. “It doesn’t make sense if they are after me. I didn’t offend anyone in Bassburgh.”
Everyone suddenly looked toward Daisie.
Daisie was stunned for a few seconds and looked down. “Is it me?”
Cameron wasn’t the target. It was her.
Nollace walked to the bed, sat down, and touched her face. “Don’t worry. I’ll look into this with your brother. You need to take your meds.”
She pouted, picked up the glass of water, and mumbled, “Fine…”
Cameron touched her nose and stood up. “We won’t interrupt any longer then. I haven’t had dinner yet. If I keep watching this, I won’t have an appetite later.”
Waylon smiled and held her hand. “Let’s fill up that big appetite of yours now, then.”
“Are you calling me a glutton?” Cameron couldn’t get out of his grasp. He dragged her to the door.” Wayne, explain yourself!”
Daisie watched as they left and tugged at Nollace’s shirt with a bitter expression. “Did you see that?” “Hmm?” Nollace raised his brows.
She smiled. “It looks as if my brother subdued Cameron, but I think he’s going to surrender to her in the future!”
Nollace smiled and tapped her nose. “So, do I have to subdue this silly wife of mine?”
Daisie pushed him away. “You won’t get to.”
He smiled. “You subdue me then.”
In the small town…
Zoey took a call in front of the grocery store. The caller said something which made her bite her lip. “Are you sure he won’t rat you out?”
“Don’t worry. The police are just detaining him for questioning. They won’t be able to arrest him without evidence. I know my friend well enough to know he’s not a snitch.”
The reply made her breathe a sigh of relief, and she leaned against the counter. “Alright, get him out of Bassburgh immediately once he’s released.”
“Pay us more then. It’s so tough to have to play along.”
The Three Little Guardian Angels Chapter 2445
When Zoey heard him asking for more money, she clenched her jaw and nodded. “Sure, I’ll wire it to you, but you better not leave any traces.”
She hung up while looking glum.
Even though the accident didn’t take Daisie’s life, she had probably lost her baby.
She wore a malicious expression when she thought of that.
That wasn’t enough though, it wasn’t bad enough yet.
The following day, at Blackgold…
Leonardo handed a document to Waylon and said, “Sir, I’ve looked into the car owner, and all the information is in here.”
Waylon took the file over, and Leonardo continued. “This is Alan Trudy, a contractor from Southbank in Asperia. He committed a crime a few years ago and was fired.”
Waylon flipped the page and drummed his fingers on the desk. “What crime?”
“I heard that he fought at the construction site and hurt that man so badly he was disabled. He paid a huge sum for that. After he was fired, Alan never got a new job but started gambling and got into huge debt. What’s weird is…”
Hearing the pause, Waylon raised his brows. “What’s weird?”
Leonardo frowned. “His parents died early, and he went through two divorces. He owed about $200,000. How could a jobless gambler possibly clear off his debt in a short time?”
Not everyone had that amount of money, especially not a gambler with no source of income.
“When did he clear off his debt?” Waylon squinted.
Leonardo replied, “About a week ago.”
That night, in the room for card games in a dingy–looking apartment…
The man who was sitting in the corner playing cards smoked while he tossed the ace to the table.
His phone suddenly rang, and he picked it up without looking at it. “What? I’m playing.”
The caller said something which made Alan pause. He pointed at his phone to indicate that he had to take the call, then got up and left. “Really? I’ll get there right away.”
He walked out of the apartment and was just going to get into his car when someone opened the door at the back and sat down. Before he could react, something cold and hard was pressed against the back of his head. “Freeze.”
Alan was shocked. He froze but looked into the rearview mirror. It was a man in a monkey mask.
Alan gulped. “W–Who are you?”
“It doesn’t matter. Come with me, or else…” The man paused for a few seconds before the cocking sound of the gun echoed.
Alan shook as beads of cold sweat rolled down his back. He slowly raised his hand, looked around, and pushed the door open to escape. It was done very quickly.
Alan half ran, half stumbled onto the road, and hailed a cab. He turned around and saw that the monkey-
masked man was on his heels, so he immediately got into the car.
The driver had a cap on, and his face was blocked. “Where to?”
“No.75 of Second Alley, East Street.”
After he said that, he turned around to look at the man that was now far behind. He sat back, out of breath, and thought, ‘Damn, who was that?‘
“Were you being chased? I saw that man holding something that looked like a gun. He seems to be dangerous. You should call the police.”
After he heard what the driver said, Alan looked at him. “I don’t need you to tell me that.”
The driver handed him a bottle of water. “It’s free. You seem to be in shock. Drink some water, and you’ll
calm down.”
The Three Little Guardian Angels Chapter 2446
Without any hesitation, Alan took the water bottle, opened it, and drank nearly half of it. He subconsciously turned his head around, and then he noticed something.
“Aren’t we heading to East Street?”
The driver smiled. “Nope.”
A chill rushed down Alan’s spine as he lowered his head to look at the water bottle in his hand. His vision started to blur, and he was losing his energy. “You-”
Before he could finish his sentence, he fell unconscious.
By the time Alan woke up again, he was stung by the strong light and squinted. He turned his head sideways and could vaguely see two people standing in front of him.
Cameron took the flashlight away and said, “Finally.”
Alan looked at the two people in front of him. He realized that one of them was the “driver” from earlier since he was wearing the same hat. He jerked up and shouted, “Who the hell are you? What do you want from me?”
Cameron placed her hand on his shoulders and pressed him back to his chair. “Calm down. We just want to talk to you.”
Alan was stunned. “Talk to me? What do you want to talk about?”
Waylon took off his hat and replied, “Let’s talk about the accident that happened two days ago.”
Alan’s heart skipped a beat, and it was only then he realized who the two people in front of him were. He refused to meet Waylon in his eyes as he said, “I don’t know what you’re talking about…”
Waylon put his plate number and camera footage in front of him. Alan’s face turned pale with panic, but he forced himself to calm down. “This camera footage doesn’t mean anything. I was just overtaking a car. I didn’t do anything at all.”
Waylon chuckled. “I didn’t say you did anything. Why do you have to panic?”
Alan’s palm was filled with sweat. “You guys brought me here without any reason. Of course, I’m panicked.”
Waylon walked up to him and stopped behind him. As he turned around slowly, he looked at him and said, “We didn’t bring you here for no reason. We have evidence.”
“What evidence?” Alan’s face turned pale.
Waylon leaned closer and said, “The one in custody now is your friend, right? According to his statement, you were the reason he knew the route accurately.”
“That’s bullsh*t! I don’t know-
“You don’t know what?”
Alan gnashed his teeth and continued. “Don’t you ever think you can fool me like that. I don’t know anything you’re talking about.”
Waylon fixed his gaze on him. “You don’t know, or you just don’t believe it?”
Waylon chuckled sarcastically at Alan’s silence. “Do you really think that your friend won’t sell you out?”
Alan continued to keep silent. Although he seemed calm on the surface, he was very
nervous.
Humans were distrustful by nature. Even though he deeply believed that his friend wouldn’t betray him, it didn’t mean that his friend could really keep his mouth shut.
When people had to make a choice between their own benefits and their friends, most of them would pick the former.
Waylon turned around and walked to his front, his body blocking the light in front of Alan.” Do you think that he will be released as long as the police can’t get any evidence? The truth is that he has messed with the wrong person. Do you think the Goldmanns will let him off the hook so easily?”
A surge of fear and panic washed over Alan. Even if he was not the main proprietor for the accident and did not have to bear any criminal responsibility after his friend sold him out, he would be in big trouble since the Goldmanns wouldn’t let him go so easily if they knew that he was part of the plan.
He took a deep breath and asked, “What do you want?”
A smile appeared at the corner of Waylon’s lips as he said, “The Goldmanns said that if you can give them the mastermind behind the accident, they’ll wipe the slate clean.” It was only then Alan knew that the Goldmanns sent them.
The Three Little Guardian Angels Chapter 2447
After contemplating for a while, Alan set his jaw tightly and told them that Zoey was the mastermind behind the accident.
Cameron placed her hand on her chin and said, “Oh, that actress who’s being hunted right now?”
Alan told them that he had to live in hiding since he owed a large debt. In order to repay the debt, he could only help his friend to take care of a casino in town. His friend’s cousin used to be an actress, and she could only work in the casino after she pissed off the Goldmanns.
That woman was young, pretty, and had a good figure. She knew how to please a man, so most of the men came to the casino because of her. No matter how much they won or lost, they just wanted to sleep with her.
Cameron asked, “You’re talking about Zoey?”
Alan shook his head. “No. Zoey went to look for her for help. That woman is called Tiffany.” The name rang a bell, and Waylon fell silent for a moment. After a short while, he recalled that Tiffany was the woman who had set up Nollace.
“So, Zoey went to look for her for help. You owe a large debt, so you helped Zoey since she said she’d give you money?”
Alan scoffed. “If it weren’t for money, do you think I’d do something that would risk myself? Since she was an actress, I supposed that she had earned a lot of money, so I asked for $100,000 from her as a deposit.
“After she gave me the money, I helped her to look for someone to get the job done. But since we needed to pay that person, I gave him $20,000, and he agreed. However, she wanted her target dead, which is a different story. As such, I told her that $100,000 wasn’t enough.”
Waylon chuckled. “So, you got more than $100,000 in the end. You owe those loan sharks a total of $300,000, yet you were able to pay them the money in such a short time. It seems like she has paid you a lot of money.”
Alan needed money, so he had agreed to help Zoey. However, he was not stupid enough to do it himself. Thus, he had asked his friend to get the job done in his stead.
Cameron clicked her tongue and said, “But you used your friend as well. He helped you, but you only gave him $20,000, and he didn’t even sell you out.”
Alan was stunned and raised his head. “What did you say?”
Cameron played the recording. Looking at Alan’s face, she smiled. “We lied to you. Your friend didn’t betray you. The reason he’s so arrogant is that he thinks we don’t have any evidence. But unfortunately for him, we have now.”
“How dare you!? How dare you lie to me!?” snarled Alan.
Cameron lifted her leg and kicked him to the floor with the chair. She stood in front of him with her arms on her waist and said, “So what if we lied to you? Do you know that I was in the car at that time? You nearly killed me.”
Alan was stumped and could not say anything.
Cameron gave the recording pen to Waylon and said, “See? I told you I could do it.”
Waylon chuckled and rubbed her hair. “Yeah. I didn’t expect you to record everything he
said.”
Cameron smacked his hand away and said, “If we didn’t record it, we would be in big trouble if he refused to admit everything he said. This is the safest way.”
They gave the recording to the police. After the police got the evidence, and since it was related to Zoey, who was being hunted by the police right now, they soon found their way to the town.
Many people were gambling in the casino when the police arrived. Meanwhile, the police also discovered some illegal activities in the casino.
The Three Little Guardian Angels Chapter 2448
When the police caught Zoey and Tiffany, none of them had their clothes on.
One week later, Daisie was discharged from the hospital.
The reporters waiting outside the hospital rushed toward her when they saw her, bombarding her with many questions, be it about her kid or whether Zoey was the main culprit who put her in the hospital.
Nollace guarded Daisie behind him and replied, “Thank you for your concern. My wife and kid are fine.”
Daisie grabbed Nollace’s hand and smiled.
Nollace hugged her tightly in his arms and walked toward the car outside under the protection of their bodyguards. After getting into the car, they went away as the reporters watched on.
When they returned to the Goldmann mansion, Maisie instructed the maids to prepare the lunch.
Daisie looked at the scrumptious meal on the table and said helplessly, “Mom, don’t you think this is a bit too much?”
“You call this too much? All of this is good for your health,” Maisie said as she pushed a bowl of chicken soup to Daisie. “We’ve already informed your manager. You don’t have to go to work so soon. You’re going to stay at home and rest for the time being.”
Daisie took a sip from the soup and replied, “But I’ve rested for a long time.”
Maisie looked at Nollace and said, “You need to keep your eyes on your wife.” Nollace chuckled. “Don’t worry, Mom. I will.”
He grabbed Daisie’s hand and said, “I’m going to take Daisie back to Yaramoor before Christmas.”
Maisie was stunned for a moment before she chuckled. “Alright. It’s time for Daisie to return with you since you haven’t gone home for a long time. Remember to help me send my regards to your parents.”
Nollace nodded and smiled.
Daisie rested her chin on her hand and said, “I wonder how Freyja and Colton are doing in Yaramoor.”
At Yaramoor, at the National Film and Television College…
Freyja arrived at the office with her script. She knocked on the door and entered after getting permission. She placed the script on the desk and said, “Professor, I have made
the changes as you requested. Please take a look at them.”
Professor Merlin put on his glasses and started to read through the script. After a short while, he raised his head from the script, and his face was filled with shock. He looked at the script again and then nodded in satisfaction.
“I like the transformation of this mother. Making a good suspense script is very difficult as you must ensure everything is connected and logical. However, compared to the script you made before the revision, the character of the mother has become much more fleshed out.”
Freyja replied, “If we followed the script before the revision, the readers would definitely think that the mother was the murderer because her existence itself was highly controversial. For example, you said that once people believe something to be true, it’ll be hard to change their minds. They all think that the mother is the murderer, but actually, we’re just throwing dust in their eyes.”
Professor Merlin put the script down and looked at her. “I’ve had my students try this type of mystery movie script, but only a few of them can master it. I like the way you handled it.”
Freyja smiled. “Thank you.”
He handed the script back to her and said, “This is a wonderful script. I like it. Congratulations, you’ve passed the assessment.”
Freyja made a bow at him and exited the office.
She hugged the script in her arms and took a deep breath. It had taken her a month to complete the script. Now that she had passed the assessment, she needed to start preparing a short film. She would only be considered a part of the circle after getting an award.
When she came out of the institution, she saw Colton waiting in the car. She walked over and got into the car. “Didn’t I say you don’t have to come to pick me up?”
The Three Little Guardian Angels Chapter 2449
Colton turned his head to look at her. “Why? You don’t want others to see me? Am I not presentable?”
Freyja had never introduced him to her classmates ever since he came to Yaramoor. Every time he came to pick her up at the university, he needed to keep a very low profile.
‘Does she think I’m ugly or what?‘
Freyja was stunned. “Have I ever said that before?”
“You didn’t say that before, but who knows what’s on your mind.” Colton leaned on the back of the seat and said sulkily, “Every time, you just leave me at home and go out to have fun with your classmates. Why don’t you introduce me to them? You women are all the same. Even though you’re married, you still want to live a single life.”
Freyja chuckled and held his hand. “It’s not that I don’t want to introduce you to my classmate, and it’s definitely not because you’re not presentable.”
Colton pulled his hand out of her grip and looked outside of the window. “Then what is it?”
Freyja leaned against the back of the seat and said, “You’re so handsome. What if my classmates fall in love with you? I don’t want to invite any trouble to myself.”
Colton squinted and gripped her chin. “So, you think that I’ll bring you trouble.”
She pushed his hand away. “Are we leaving or not?”
Colton harrumphed and started the car.
Soon, he stopped the car in front of a restaurant.
Freyja was stunned and asked, “I thought we were going back?”
Colton unbuckled his seatbelt and said, “I feel like eating out today.”
After that, he got out of his car.
Freyja couldn’t help herself and chuckled. After getting out of the car, she saw him extending his arm at her. After realizing what he was going to do, she put her hand on his arm and said, “Don’t you think you’re a bit too childish?”
“So?”
They entered the restaurant and sat by the window. The waiter came over to them with a menu in his hand and said, “What would you like to order today?”
Colton took over the menu. He lifted his eyelids to look at the person in front of him and
ordered a few dishes.
Freyja was stunned as all of the dishes he ordered were her favorites.
After Colton finished ordering the food, the waiter went away.
Freyja picked up the glass of water and asked, “This is our first time coming to this restaurant, right?”
“Yeah,” he replied flatly.
Just when Freyja was about to say something, the waiter suddenly returned with a bouquet of roses in his arms. He handed the roses to Freyja and said, “This is a gift from your husband for you.”
Freyja looked at Colton in surprise.
Colton turned his face sideways to look outside through the window embarrassingly.
“Thank you.” She took over the bouquet of roses with a smile on her face and held it with her arms. The roses were red as fire and brilliant as sunshine. They signified endless life.
It was also the reason people liked to give their partners roses when they were wooing them.
“You brought me to a restaurant and gave me flowers…” She caressed the flowers and stopped for a second before continuing. “Is this our first date?”
Colton’s face turned red with embarrassment. “You… You don’t like it?”
Freyja looked at him, and a smile appeared on her face. “It’s a bit corny.”
Colton was rendered speechless.
“But I like it.”
“What?”
Freyja lowered her head to look at the bouquet of roses in her arms. “This is the first bouquet of roses I received.”
Colton placed his hand in front of his lips and cleared his throat. “If you want it, I can send you a bouquet every day.”
She laughed. “Nah. You don’t have to do that, but I’m already very happy that you’re willing to do that for me.”
Colton did not say anything. No one could tell what he was thinking right now.
“Freyja.”
Freyja lifted her head to see two of her classmates coming toward her. They were Leia and Shannon.
“What a coincidence. I didn’t know you were here.” After Shannon finished speaking, she looked at Colton. “And this is…”
Just when Freyja was about to say something, Colton smiled and said, “I’m her husband.”
The Three Little Guardian Angels Chapter 2450
Leia and Shannon were stunned. “You’re married!?”
Freyja smiled but did not say anything.
Leia and Shannon sat down. They were shocked to find out that Freyja was married. “Oh my gosh! We didn’t know that you were married. When did it happen?”
Freyja looked at Colton.
Colton picked up a cup of water and took a sip. “We just married this year.”
“No wonder we didn’t know about it.” Leia chuckled and continued. “You didn’t get married secretly, did you?”
Freyja replied embarrassingly. “Nope…”
Suddenly, Shannon turned to Colton and asked, “You’re from Zlokovia, right? What do you work for a living?”
“Just some small business,” he replied flatly.
Freyja looked at him speechlessly.
‘Yeah, just some small business. It’s so small that you can see his company logo everywhere.’
“Is it your own business?”
“Well… You can put it that way,” replied Colton.
Shannon rested her chin on her hand and smiled. “I see. I heard that men who start their
own businesses are cool. No wonder Freyja likes you.”
Leia nudged her as a sign to tell her to stop speaking.
Colton squinted slightly, and Shannon realized that she had said something wrong. She hastily covered her mouth and apologized, “Ah, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean that.”
Freyja smiled and looked at Colton. “It’s okay. You’re right. Men who start their own businesses are cool. So, I’m very lucky, right?”
Colton looked at her. It seemed to him that she was enjoying the acting.
Shannon was momentarily stunned and chuckled. “Yeah, you’re indeed lucky. It already isn’t easy for normal women to find a man with a good appearance and family background nowadays, let alone you. Your mother is in prison, and it’s indeed difficult for you to find a good man.”
Everyone fell silent.
Leia hastily stopped her and said, “I’m sorry, Freyja. Shannon likes to speak whatever is on
her mind. She doesn’t mean anything.”
Freyja’s expression remained unchanged. She looked as if she had expected something like this as she said, “Don’t worry. I don’t mind.”
Shannon continued. “See? I told you that Freyja is very kind. She wouldn’t mind something like this at all, right?”
Leia stopped Shannon because she noticed that Colton’s expression had changed. It was just that she did not expect Shannon to be so ignorant. She couldn’t read the situation at all.
Suddenly, Colton rose to his feet and said, “We’ve finished eating. You guys enjoy.”
After that, he pulled Freyja, and they went away.
After they left, Shannon pouted and said, “What’s his problem? We just ordered our food. We’re having a good time, and he just left like that? Don’t you think it’s a bit rude?”
Leia placed her hand on her forehead.
‘No one would be in the mood to continue eating after hearing what you said.‘
However, Shannon still did not realize she had said something wrong. “But I think they’ve paid for our meal. Her husband is so handsome and owns a business himself. I’m sure he’ll help us pay for our meal.”
Leia looked at her. “Are you sure?”
Shannon replied, “Well, men are all the same. They care about their reputation more than anything. Have you ever seen a man asking a woman to pay for a meal?”
After she finished speaking, she continued. “But unfortunately, although he’s good–looking, he has to start his own business. I’m sure he comes from a humble family as well, and I guess that’s why he married her.”
Everyone knew Freyja’s mother was in prison, so finding a good husband with an excellent background would be even more difficult than reaching the sky.
Soon, they finished their lunch. Just when they were about to leave, the waiter stopped them. “I’m sorry, but you guys haven’t paid your bill yet.”
Shannon was stunned. “Didn’t they pay the bill for us?”
