The Three Little Guardian Angels Chapter 2601

After saying that, he continued. “Don’t worry. I can pay half of it.”

He then looked at Harold immediately. “Aren’t you going to do something to show your sincerity?”

Harold sounded very generous. “I’ll help split the share too. I might still be able to put $750,000 to $ 1,000,000 into the pot.”

Cameron heard that the two people behind her were already thinking about sharing the cost of purchasing the store and laughed out loud. She then crossed her arms and looked back at the two of them. “I didn’t expect you two to be this generous.”

Conroy responded, “I’m already addressing you as my sister. How can I not be generous with my share?”

Cameron smacked him on the arm. “Nicely said, brother. From now on, let us leave our enmity behind and let our brotherhood shine for the days to come. Just pretend that nothing has ever happened. From now on, you two will be placed under my protection.”

Conroy and Harold exchanged gazes and said in unison, “Alright, sis!”

Back at Blackgold…

Waylon was sitting in the office, flipping through some documents. He then received a text message on his cell phone, so he picked it up and took a glance at its content.

At that moment, Leonardo opened the door and entered the room, and the man who came in with him was the landlord.

The landlord nodded and greeted Waylon. “Mr. Goldmann.”

Waylon placed his phone back on the desk. “Have you brought her to visit the store?”

“Yes, Mrs. Goldmann brought Mr. Selfridge and a man over to take a look at the place, and she seems quite satisfied with the place.”

Waylon interlocked his fingers and rested his chin on his knuckles. “She didn’t find out about anything strange, did she?”

“Of course not. I was worried that Mrs. Goldmann would doubt my words at first, too. After all, the store is new. However, even if Mrs. Goldmann were to ask me about the place, I’d still be able to convince her.” Waylon responded with a faint hum. “Good. You don’t have to offer her any discount for my sake. You can charge her according to the market price of such a location and store. My wife will start to suspect things of it’s too cheap to be true.”

The landlord nodded. “Understood.”

After the landlord left, Leonardo was a little confused, so he asked, “Mr. Goldmann, if you want to give the storefront to Mrs. Goldmann as a gift, why do you have to go through such an indirect route to achieve that? Can’t you just give it to her, and that’s it?”

Waylon fiddled with the pen in his hand. “You should be well aware of her temperament well enough now to know that she won’t take it if it comes from me. Not to mention that I’ve promised her not to interfere in her affairs.”

Cameron had a bold personality and had gotten used to doing things her own way. She could not bear it when someone treated her like an ordinary lady. If he were to ask her to do what he wanted her to do, she would feel that she was being bound.

‘She has never wanted to be someone else’s doll, let alone someone else’s Barbie doll. She’s the most vivid version of herself when she’s out there sailing freely.

‘As for me, all I have to do is be her harbor.‘

At night, at Emperon…

Cameron passed by the study and saw a beam of light gleaming through the crack of the door. She stopped, slowly opened the door, and entered.

Waylon was still sitting in front of his laptop, working. He was wearing a pair of gold–rimmed glasses,* giving him a more refined and elegant demeanor.

Cameron tiptoed in quietly.

Although Waylon did not take his eyes off the screen, he seemed to have spotted her a long time ago. ” Haven’t you gone to bed?”

“You haven’t slept either.”

She leaned forward and lay on the edge of the desk, resting her chin on top of the back of her hands, and her gaze was fixed on his computer screen. “Are you working overtime?”

Waylon took off his glasses, turned to the side, looked her in the eyes, and chuckled. “Are you complaining that I’m neglecting you?”

Cameron choked on her own words. “Since when did I say that? Don’t try to twist my words.”

Waylon stretched out his hand, pulled her into his arms, and placed her on his thighs. “How have you been doing recently? Have you caused me any more trouble?”

“No… Hey, you can’t consider what I did back then as me causing you trouble.” Cameron crossed her arms and stared back at him. “No matter how you put it, I’m still the one who resolved the problem that those two fellas got themselves into, ain’t I? So, how is this considered a problem that I caused?”

Waylon stroked the tip of her hair and smiled. “It really doesn’t count, but even if you bring home trouble, as long as it’s not too big of a deal, you still have me.”

Cameron approached him all of a sudden. “By the way, I encountered a very strange thing today.”

The Three Little Guardian Angels Chapter 2602

“Huh?”

“Dylan told me that the landlord originally didn’t intend to rent the place to Nick in order for him to continue operating his martial arts training center there. He told me that Nick had to beg the landlord to agree to rent him the place, but Dylan didn’t tell me that the rental contract that the landlord had with them had a deadline.”

Cameron gave the matter a thought. “But the landlord said that the lease is only viable for 15 years, and there are still 5 years left. This means that no matter whether the training center causes trouble, the rental contract will still be revoked.”

Wayne’s eyes shifted away from her, and he pursed his lips tightly and did not utter a single word.

Cameron wrapped her arms around his neck and shoved her face right up to his. “What Dylan said doesn’t really match with what the landlord said, but I don’t think Dylan would lie about the training center.

“Apart from that, the landlord introduced us to the store enthusiastically, and the main thing is that the store is new and huge, the surroundings and environment are excellent, and the location is better than what we currently own.

“Now you tell me. The place was a beauty salon that had been operating in that location for six years, so even if it moved out, someone should’ve taken over the store almost instantly. Is it possible that a store in such an area will be left vacant?”

The store was located in a commercial region of the city, so no matter how slow and dumb she was, she would never believe that stores located in such a location would stay vacant for such a long time. It was a three–story building that had such a large space and complete facilities–it was more than enough for someone who wanted to take over this location and open up a restaurant.

Wayne cleared his throat. “The location is remarkable, but the problem is that the rent is exorbitant, so it’s sometimes normal for such properties to stay vacant for a while.”

Cameron was still skeptical. “Is that so?”

Wayne sneered and kissed her. “Otherwise, do you think that everyone who’s into business just doesn’t care about the cost, breakeven, and the economics? Some people might miss such a great place only because they hesitated. Some others might miss it because they wanted to wait for their cash flow to come in. As for those who can make such a steep purchase to get their hands on such a place, they’re most probably operating on the income that they get from other chain stores.

“If you want to get this place for a private business, it depends on how much cash you have in hand, as well as various expenses and the time needed for your bank to approve your loan. It’s not an easy task.” Cameron rested her cheeks in her palms and propped her elbows against the desk. “Is it really not you?” He gave off a helpless smile. “You don’t even allow me to help you out. Do I look like someone who’s looking to significantly decrease my lifespan?”

‘I don’t consider myself as someone who’s contributed to her search. I only found her a good store.‘ Cameron kissed him abruptly.

Waylon was startled for a split second but then grasped the back of her head and intensified the kiss. The next day, in the martial arts training center…

Cameron talked to Nick about the new storefront. Nick lifted his gaze and stared at her. “Actually, you

don’t have to help me out.”

Cameron crossed her arms and leaned back into the couch. “I admit that I’m the one who’s led those men to the training center, and Dylan also told me that you’ve invested all your savings in the training center. That’s why you’ve been living here throughout all these years.

“Losing this place means you won’t be able to start another training center for quite some time, and if that’s the case, I can’t compensate for your loss. I can always compensate you with more money, but with the time and energy you’ve spent on this place, I don’t think I can ever pay you back.”

Nick stared at her for a long time and then took a sip from the thermos on the table. “I’m not so poor that I need you to pay for a new location.”

“I didn’t pay for it.”

He paused for a bit and frowned.

Cameron continued. “Conroy and Harold shared the payment. Although Conroy is a little arrogant and unreliable, he’s a loyal lad. As for Harold, he owns a huge network of connections. When the new martial arts training center opens up for business, the two of them will be placed in charge of the place, and with that, we won’t be getting into any more trouble in the future.”

After saying that, she added, “At least we won’t attract any more trouble, and we won’t get thugs knocking on our doors every now and then too.”

Seeing that Nick was silent, Cameron stood up. “If you want to go back to Southeast Eurasia and develop your career over there, you can always transfer the ownership of the training center to me. There’s no need for you to close it down.”

The Three Little Guardian Angels Chapter 2603

Cameron was about to leave the office when Nick stopped her. “Wait.”

Cameron turned around and smirked. “Have you given it a thought? Are you going to move?”

Nick put down the glass in his hand. “I’m curious. Why do you insist on helping me?”

Cameron was startled for a split second and then replied calmly, “Probably because I treat you as a friend.”

He froze for a moment. “A friend?”

“That’s right. You, Nick Wickam, are my friend. And since I regard you as a friend, it’s only natural for me to lend you a helping hand.”

After saying that, Cameron left the office.

Nick lowered his gaze and let off a smile.

‘A friend? That sounds pretty good.‘

On the other side of town…

Chadwick and Sapphire watched as the red–haired girl returned a wad of money to them and then exchanged gazes. Apparently, they were rather puzzled by her action.

“Take it. I won’t cause you any more trouble in the future, and this is the money that I’m returning to you.” The red–haired girl handed Sapphire the money, turned around, got on her motorcycle, put on the helmet, and rode away.

Sapphire squeezed a wad of banknotes in her hand. “Chadwick, am I hallucinating?”

Chadwick shook his head. “I don’t think so. It’s indeed her, but why would she say what she just said?”

Something flashed across Sapphire’s mind all of a sudden. “Could it be the young lady from the other day?”

Chadwick was stunned for a moment. “Coach Southern?”

The next day, when Chadwick came to the training center, he saw a notice about the suspension of business hanging on the door.

He stood there for quite a long time until someone pushed the door out, and the person who came out was Dylan.

“Chadwick, why are you here?”

Chadwick looked up at him with a solemn expression. “I’m here to find Coach Southern.”

Dylan was startled. “Cameron? What did she do this time around?”

After all, if his memory served him right, the only thing that Cameron knew and was good at was causing trouble. When Chadwick was training here in the center, Cameron would always pester him, and this kid had been ignoring her all this while.

Chadwick wanted to tell Dylan that he had come to thank Cameron, but he felt a little awkward and could not give it to him straight.

Dylan saw that he was acting a little timidly and did not dare to speak out, so he comforted him, ” Chadwick, there’s no need to worry. If you have anything that you want to say, just say it out boldly, and we’ll help you seek justice. Now tell me, did Cameron bully you?”

Chadwick looked bewildered.

‘Bully?‘

Dylan was about to say something else when Nick appeared out of nowhere. “What happened here?”

Dylan turned and looked at him. “Boss, Chadwick came here in search of Cameron. I think she must have caused some other trouble again.”

Nick frowned slightly.

At this time, Chadwick explained, “Coach Southern didn’t bully me.”

Dylan was dumbfounded for a few seconds and felt slightly embarrassed. “She… She didn’t bully you? Then why are you here looking for her?”

“I’ve come to thank her.” Chadwick blushed. “She helped me.”

Nick squatted down in front of him and looked at him at the same eye level. “Did she?”

Chadwick nodded and continued. “We were blackmailed by bullies for money outside the school. Coach Southern is the one who helped us and asked the thugs to return the money to us.”

Dylan paused for a split second. “Bullies?”

Chadwick replied, “It’s just a few girls. One of them has bright red hair. Coach Southern seems to have found them before this, so the bullies have just returned the money.”

‘Red hair…‘

Dylan remembered that it was the young girl who had brought a group of men here the other day.

‘Didn’t Cameron lead those men here because of some random reason?‘

Nick covered the top of Chadwick’s hair with his palm and gently rubbed it. “I’ll convey your appreciation to her later.”

After Chadwick got in the car and left, Nick turned around and went back into the training center. He then looked around the place and said to those who were busy with the tasks on hand, “Pack everything up.”

The disciples were startled.

Dylan went around him and stopped in front of him. “Boss, what do you mean by that? Pack up? Do you really plan to close the center?”

The Three Little Guardian Angels Chapter 2604

‘But that’s impossible. This martial arts training center is his treasured venture!‘

“We’re not closing down.” Nick said unhurriedly, “We’re moving instead.”

“Move… Moving?” Dylan was surprised.

Nick nodded, then turned to look at all the disciples and smiled. “It’s time for us to move on and change to a new environment.”

“Could it be that those people have complained about us? But where will we move to? We’ve been here for a decade, and we’re now moving without having any plan for the future. Besides, if we were to really move out from this place, can we find another location that overshadows where we’re at now?”

Dylan was soon smacked in the face by what he had just said when they arrived at the entrance of the new store and looked up at the three–story building in front of them.

Not only was it much larger than the original training center, but it even had three floors!

“Holy crap, boss! This place is huge.”

“Yeah, the location here is quite good. The main selling point is that it’s located at an intersection, a place with the most stream of people, and it’s the most conspicuous, so it’ll be easy for our customers and clients to locate us when the time comes. They’ll see our gym as soon as they get out of the subway station.”

Originally, the rest of the people were worried that the location of the new place would not be as good as the old location. Unexpectedly, it was located right in front of a subway station, and this was an intersection where two commercial streets crossed each other, so the flow of people would be huge.

Seeing how excited everyone was, Dylan could not help but say, “This is such an enormous store. The rent must be way above our budget.”

When the word “rent” was mentioned, everyone became silent.

“Yo, you’re all here.” Cameron got out of the car and walked toward them. “Take a look around and see if you’re satisfied with the new storefront.”

Dylan was astonished for a moment and asked, “Please don’t tell me that you’re the one who’s found this place?”

“Yes, I’m the one who found it.” Cameron stepped forward with her hands behind her back and stood in front of them. “It’s time for our training center to move to a bigger place, and this place seems just right.”

Dylan whispered, “The annual rent must be very expensive in this area. We might as well stay right where we are.”

“Who told you about renting this place? I bought it.”

“You… what? You bought it!?” Dylan was dumbfounded.

‘This woman actually bought this place in one go? Just how bold can she be?‘

Cameron clapped her hands. “Let me introduce you to the two co–owners.”

At that moment, Conroy and Harold got out of the car with their men. They then walked up to Cameron and greeted her respectfully. “Sis Cameron!”

Dylan and the others were astounded.

Cameron rested her elbow on Conroy’s shoulder. “You guys must’ve gotten very familiar with these two. They’re the ones who bought this storefront together with me as a gift for every one of you. Am I right, guys?”

“Sis Cameron is right. From now on, the martial arts training center and we will be a family. As long as I, Harold Geelen, and Mr. Selfridge are still alive, no one will dare to cause you people any more trouble. Whoever dares to do so will have to go through us first.”

Conroy also raised his chin and sounded rather arrogant. “That’s right. You guys are under my protection from now on. If anyone dares to lay a finger on you, that’s equivalent to slapping me in the face!”

Except for Nick, everyone looked at each other blankly.

Cameron withdrew her elbow. “Alright, guys, don’t just stand here. Go in and have a look.”

Everyone else was curious about what the interior looked like, so they went in through the door one after another. Cameron invited Nick in too, and Dylan came back to his senses and caught up to them immediately.

Everyone looked around on the first floor and was pleasantly surprised.

The place was large and spacious, and the key was that the space was divided into a few large areas, which could be used for different activities. There was also an elevator in the middle of the building. As for the second floor, it was very wide and capacious too. It was split into two large areas, a private area and a public area.

Cameron said to Nick, “The third floor is an independent area reserved for you. You can decorate it to your liking.”

Nick took a glance at her. “You made them pay for it? You’re the only person in the world who would think of doing so.”

“I didn’t threaten them. The two of them are so filthy rich and powerful that they volunteered. You can accept this gift with peace of mind.”

The Three Little Guardian Angels Chapter 2605

‘I really didn’t threaten them. How could I do such a thing?”

Nick did not say anything more.

A week later, the training center was officially moved to the new location. Except for Nick’s private space on the third floor, the first and second floors were furnished and ready to be opened for business.

On that day, both Conroy and Harold brought their men to help around the center. They also brought various gift baskets and flowers and placed them at the reception counter to celebrate the opening of the training center. They even lit firecrackers, which made the opening ceremony extremely boisterous.

Conroy, directing his men, kept reminding them to move around nimbly, looking rather serious while doing so.

Looking at the people carrying things in and out, as well as the personnel who were busy in the store, Cameron could not help but feel very satisfied with the lively and smooth–sailing scene.

Her gaze suddenly landed on a car parked outside the building. The rear window was slowly lowered, and the person sitting inside was Waylon.

Harold approached her and asked, “Sis, where do you want this thing to be?”

Cameron looked back at the heavy equipment that Harold’s subordinate was carrying and then pointed.”

You can leave it there.”

“Okay.” Harold asked him to move it to the designated place.

Cameron glanced out the door once again, and the car had already left. She ran out of the building and looked at the rear of the car that was driving away. Deep down, she felt a strange feeling that just would not calm down after a long time.

Inside the car…

Leonardo, who was driving, took a glance in the rearview mirror. “Mr. Goldmann, why didn’t you go in and have a look?”

Waylon smirked. “I don’t have to join in the fun. I only wanted to take a look. I’m fine with anything as long as she likes it.”

“You can’t admit to the young lady that you’re the one who found her the store. Although you’ve done so many things for her from the shadows, she doesn’t know about any of them. Even if she refuses to accept your kindness and help, she should at least know about what you’ve done for her all this while.”

Waylon looked out of the window. “Why would I do so? I don’t plan to ask her for anything in return. Besides, I’m doing so because this is what I wish.”

Back at the training center…

After everyone finished the work that had been assigned to them, the disciples of the training center politely thanked Conroy and Harold. They even invited them to stay behind for dinner.

It was their first time receiving such a level of appreciation from others. After all, all they had done in the past were bad and unethical things. Everyone was afraid of seeing them, so why would anyone thank them?

Although they were too embarrassed to stay back for a meal, the disciples were very enthusiastic and insisted on keeping them in the center. As such, the two of them had no choice but to stay.

However, Cameron did not stay in the center. She told them that something had come up, so she had to go home early.

She drove back to Emperon. After entering the house, Waylon was nowhere to be seen.

Cameron changed out of her shoes, walked to the couch, sat down, took her cell phone out, looked up Waylon’s number, and could not help but mutter, “You lled, didn’t you?”

‘If not, how would he know about the new store’s location?

‘Liar.‘

In the evening, Waylon returned to the villa from the company. As soon as he entered the house, he saw Cameron’s shoes in the entryway and was startled. He then took off his shoes and walked into the living room.

Cameron just so happened to come out of the kitchen with a bowl of soup and placed it on the table. However, just as she was about to turn around, she saw Waylon. “You… You’re back already?”

Waylon draped his coat on the back of the chair and looked at the broccoli soup on the table. “Why would you have the time to cook today?”

“I’m happy, so I cooked dinner today.”

Waylon smiled. “It seems that someone is delighted to have moved to a new place.”

Cameron went to the kitchen and brought the dinner out. “I know my cooking skills aren’t as good as yours, but these are all the dishes that I know how to cook already.”

“It’s more than enough for me.” He pulled out his chair, sat down, picked up his fork, and tasted one of the dishes

Cameron was a little nervous.

As soon as he swallowed the food, he lifted his gaze and stared at her. “It’s not bad.”

“Really?” Cameron sat down and fetched him a bowl of soup. “Then you should try this soup.”

The Three Little Guardian Angels Chapter 2606

Seeing how Cameron was suddenly so helpful, Waylon raised his brows. “What’s going on with you today?”

Cameron moved the soup in front of him. “It’s just dinner. Nothing is going on?”

He smiled and tasted the soup. “A little salty.”

“Salty?” Cameron got up. “I’ll redo it.”

Waylon grabbed her hand and looked at her. “I’m just joking. Taste it. It’s not salty.”

Cameron didn’t speak.

Waylon pulled her onto his thighs and touched her cheek. “There’s no need to force yourself to do what you’re not good at. My wife doesn’t need to be a good cook.”

Cameron hugged him and buried her face in his neck.

Waylon paused and touched her hair. “What’s wrong?”

She said in a low voice, “You’re the one who found the store, right? Liar.”

Waylon was silent. He didn’t admit it but didn’t deny it either. After a long pause, he spoke. “I didn’t really help.”

Cameron got up and looked at him. “Then why didn’t you admit to it? You lied.”

“–”

Cameron cupped his face. “Wayne, you’re being silly? Even if you are the one who found the store, I won’t scold you.”

Waylon smiled. “You found out.”

Cameron said, “I never told you where it was located, and I don’t believe that you drove past. It’s not on the way home or to your office. You only drove past after taking a huge detour. Do you think I’m dumb?”

He smiled. “That’s true. How could a person who pretended to be a man be stupid?”

Cameron hugged him by the neck, leaned in, and smiled. “So, stupid Wayne, you mustn’t be the one teaching my son.”

Waylon paused and stared at her. “Son?”

“Well, someone keeps talking about having a child. Have you forgotten? Well, ignore me then.”

She was going to get up, but Waylon pulled her back in and said in a husky voice, “Are you sure?”

Cameron went close to his ear. “I did some calculations, and I’m currently fertile.”

Waylon kissed her and chuckled. “Should have said that earlier.”

He then picked her up and went upstairs.

After a few days, a woman went to the martial arts center and saw that it had been demolished. She was shocked when a person in overalls walked out.

The woman stopped him. “Is the center closed for good?”

The man guided her. “It moved to that corner. Walk straight for about 600 feet, and you’ll see it across the subway.”

“Thanks.” She walked in the direction the man pointed.

She got to the subway station and noticed that the center was across a busy street.

The woman stood outside before slowly opening the door and taking a peek.

“Can I help you?”

She jumped when a student there suddenly popped up. She smiled and said, “I’m here to see Cameron Southern.”

“Oh, wait here. I’ll go get her.”

The man invited her in and yelled up the stairs.

The woman waited in front of the ring while looking around curiously.

Cameron walked down the stairs, spotted the woman waiting for her, and smiled. “Mahina!”

Mahina looked back at her and smiled. “Cam.”

Cameron held her shoulder and took a good look at her. “How did you find this place? Why are you here? Where’s my father?”

Mahina smiled. “He asked me to come to find you. Don’t worry. He’s been spending time drinking tea and watching movies with Damian.”

The Three Little Guardian Angels Chapter 2607

Cameron was glad to hear that her father was fine. She put her hands around Mahina and guided her to the guest area. “Why didn’t you give me a call so I could come to get you?”

“That’s too much hassle. You told me the address, so I just came here, but I didn’t know that you had moved. I’m glad it wasn’t far away.”

While walking to the rest area, they bumped into Dylan, who was walking over with a few students. When one of them saw Cameron bringing a girl to the rest area, they were surprised. “Cam, who’s this?”

“Oh, it’s my best friend from the East Islands, Mahina. We grew up together, and she’s pretty much half a Southern.”

Mahina nodded at them politely. “Hello.”

Mahina looked quiet and gentle. She was beautiful and friendly too.

The few men blushed and were very friendly too. “Hello, Mahina.”

“Alright, I’ll be spending time with her. Run along.” Cameron waved her hand and continued toward the

rest area.

The few men started whispering to each other. “I thought women from the East Islands were all unruly like Cam. I didn’t know there are some that are so quiet?”

“I think the East Islands aren’t as scary as we imagined. I could tell that the girl must have a great personality.”

After they walked away, they noticed that someone was missing, so they turned around and saw Dylan standing there as if he had lost his soul.

They walked back to him. “Dy?”

He snapped back to reality. “Hmm? Oh, girls from the East Islands, huh?”

He quickly left after saying that.

The few men looked at each other. What was wrong with him?

Cameron showed Mahina the first and second floors while the men hid behind a wall and observed.

“Do you think that Cam will ask her to stay?”

“I hope so. If there’s a woman like her here, I’m pretty sure I’ll put in more effort every day.”

“We really should have a few more female students. If it’s just us men, I’m not motivated.”

The group looked at the people behind them who spoke. “Cam is a woman too and is also beautiful, but why aren’t you motivated?”

They sounded sad. “So what if she’s beautiful? Have you seen a pretty woman who can fight ten strong men? Conroy and Howard have both been defeated. I see her more like the leader.”

Dylan suddenly blocked them and crossed his arms. “What are you looking at?”

The few men looked up and stood up straight. “Nothing.”

Cameron and Mahina walked over and saw them congregating there. “Oh, why are you here?”

The group looked away.

Cameron asked Mahina, “Are you thirsty? Want a drink?”

Mahina said, “Anything works.”

Cameron patted her shoulder. “I’ll make you coffee then.”

She was going to walk away when the men surrounded them. “Cam, we can make the coffee.”

“Yes, we can do it. You don’t need to do that.”

Cameron was suspicious. Had they always been so helpful?

Dylan cleared his throat and looked serious. “Do you have nothing better to do? I should be the one making coffee.” He left after that.

Cameron took a deep breath and looked even more shocked than them. “What’s wrong with Dylan today?”

The Three Little Guardian Angels Chapter 2608

Leah and two of her friends were shopping in the mall, and they were looking at luxury goods.

When they walked into a shop for luxury clothes, she saw Zephir, and one of the friends asked, “Oh, isn’t that Mr. Gosling? Why is she in a store for ladies?”

Lean walked over. “Why are you here?”

Zephir paused, looked at her, but didn’t reply. The woman in the dressing room walked out. “Zeph, does this look good?”

Leah was surprised when she saw the woman. She looked very similar to Daisie in height and looks.

Leah’s heart was pierced, but she didn’t show it. “This is…”

Zephir didn’t reply, but the woman grabbed his arm and smiled. “I’m his girlfriend. My name is Roxy Van Damme.”

Daisie, Roxy, and Zeph.

Leah understood something and laughed at herself. He was always trying to find Daisie’s replacement.

Zephir took the clothes from her. “Let’s ring this up.”

Roxy smiled. “Sure.”

He hugged her shoulders and walked past Leah.

After they paid and were about to leave, Leah ran after them. “Zephir!”

He stopped but didn’t turn back.

Leah walked over to him. “Are you serious about this?”

Zephir frowned. “What?”

“Why are you doing this? You can’t have Daisie, so you found a replacement instead?”

“Leah!” Zephir looked angry. “This is none of your business. Do you think you can control me because I’m your friend?”

Leah balled up her fist and smiled. “I’m controlling you? I just don’t want to see you like this. This isn’t you.”

Zephir smirked. “You think you know me, but do you know the real me?”

She didn’t speak.

“Leah, don’t try to mind my business from now on. Roxy is my girlfriend, so I hope that you can respect her.”

Zephir walked away with Roxy without looking back.

Roxy turned to look at Leah because her instincts told her that this woman must be in love with Zephir.

Leah froze on the spot and bit her lips as her eyes turned red.

The two friends rushed over. “Leah, are you alright?”

She looked down and shook her head. “I’m fine.”

“Leah, we know you have feelings for Zephir, but there are plenty of fish in the sea, There’s no need to be sad for him.”

“Yes, if he doesn’t even look at you, why do you still wait?”

“I know…” Leah bit on her lip so hard she was going to break them, but her tears still rolled down her cheeks. “But you don’t know how much I like him. It’s been ten years, even when he doesn’t feel the same way.”

It had always been unrequited. She had been under the impression that after Daisie was married, he would give up on her and would look at her, but it was all too much to ask.

Her friends wiped her tears away. “Alright, cheer up. It’s just ten years. Some people got married and divorced during that time. There’s nothing to be sad about that.”

“Yes. If you’re upset, we’ll drink with you tonight. We’ll be here for you.”

That night, in a dimly lit bar…

The three women drank at the bar while music played. “Cheers. Let’s forget the sadness.”

Leah drank her entire glass in one go and poured another.

The two friends wanted to dance and tried to bring her along, but she waved. “No, you go ahead.”

“Wait for us here then.” They walked to the dance floor.

Leah drank all the beer on the bar top and ordered more beer, and continued drinking to numb herself. However, no matter how much she drank, her mind still went to Zephir.

Her heart ached terribly.

Leah stumbled toward the ladies‘ room and started throwing up when she got to the toilet. She then started crying.

She stayed there for a while before leaving with her makeup smudged. She stumbled her way back to her seat when two drunk men bumped into her, and she fell to the floor.

Her head was spinning so violently she couldn’t get up.

The two men looked at her, realized she was a drunk woman, and started scheming.

They helped her up and were going to bring her away when she started fighting back. “I don’t want to leave with you. I don’t know you. Get your hands off me!”

The server who walked past saw them. One of the men smiled and said, “I’m sorry, my friend had too many.”

Leah was dragged away by the men. She stomped her feet in protest, but her heels flew off.

The two men didn’t pick them up for her and continued dragging her toward the elevator.

At that moment, someone in a coat who looked handsome walked over and picked up her heels. “Wait.”

The two men froze, then turned around.

The man in the coat waved the heels around. “Aren’t you going to pick them up?”

They looked at each other and realized that one of them should go get..em.

One of the men walked over, but the man put the shoes behind him. “I don’t think he’s your girlfriend. Are you trying to bring her home because she’s drunk?”

“What are you saying?”

The men didn’t look happy.

The man in the coat chuckled. “She’s wearing designer clothes, and the heels I’m holding cost thousands. I’m guessing she’s from a wealthy family. I don’t think girls from wealthy families would be interested in men like you.”

The man immediately looked upset and tried to grab the shoes, but the other man grabbed his wrist and twisted it. The man yelled out in pain and sobered up.

The other man who was holding Leah could tell that this man wasn’t someone they could mess with, so he pushed her away and ran. Leah fell to the floor.

The man whose wrist was twisted scuttled away too.

Morrison Shaw walked toward Leah, bent down, and put her shoes back on. “Are you awake, lady?”

Leah looked up, and her head was still spinning. Her eyes were blurry, so she couldn’t see his face clearly.

He helped her up, but Leah suddenly cried, “I want to go home.”

Morrison clicked his tongue. “Such a hassle. Where do you live?”

Leah paused. “I forgot.”

Morrison slapped his forehead. ‘How much did this woman drink?

‘No, why do I have to take care of her? I can just hand her over to the servers, and I will be free.

‘But what the heck? I should finish what I started.‘

Morrison walked out of the bar with Leah, who stood there while he went to get his car.

He was planning to send this drunkard to the police station so that they could send her home.

Before Morrison could get to his car, Leah rushed into the street, and he panicked. “Hey!”

The cars honked at her. He rushed over to pull her back. “Are you trying to kill yourself? Don’t drag me into this!”

Leah looked at him, suddenly started crying, and sat on the ground. “You’re yelling at me.”

The passersby looked over.

Morrison placed his hands on his waist and looked down at this crying mess. He clenched his jaw and nodded. “Alright, it’s my fault for not minding my own business.”

Morrison picked her up and brought her away.

He drove to the station and woke her up. “Get up, get out.”

Leah opened her eyes and grabbed onto the seat. “No, I want to sleep.”

Morrison dragged her out of the car. “Miss, you’re wasting my time. Get out. I’ll get the officers to get your mom!”

“No, no! I won’t get out!” She grabbed onto the seat and wouldn’t let go.

Maybe because she used too much force, she felt something lurch in her stomach. Morrison noticed it and immediately said, “Don’t throw-”

Leah threw up all over herself and the seat.

Morrison’s face dropped.

In the hotel room…

Morrison tossed Leah, who was out cold on the floor. She stank. He was a germaphobe, so seeing that drove him crazy. He was impressed that he could keep it together.

When he saw vomit on his coat, he immediately took it off and tossed it to the floor. He was disgusted.

“F*ck! I’ve never seen a woman like that before.” He was too tired to care for Leah, who was sleeping on the floor, and went to take a shower.

Leah still had to throw up, so she sat up in a daze before finding her way into the bathroom.

She opened the door.

Morrison, who had just taken off his clothes, covered himself and watched as she stumbled to the toilet, opened up the cover, and threw up again.

Morrison was rendered speechless. He had never been speechless in his life.

After she was done, she flushed, got up, and walked over to him.

Morrison looked more and more afraid. “What are you doing? Get out, don’t come over-”

The next morning…

When Leah woke up, her head was pounding, and she vaguely remembered the two men who had tried to take her away.

She suddenly sat up and saw that she was in a bathrobe while her clothes were on the floor. She was shocked.

She then heard some movement outside the bedroom, picked up the lamp, and hid behind the door.

When someone walked in, she raised the lamp and hit the head of that person hard, which caused him to fall to the floor.

She dropped the lamp in a panic when she saw the man and called the police. “Hello, I… I might have. been assaulted.”

Half an hour later, at the police station…

Morrison’s head was bandaged as he sat in the interrogation room. He really was speechless.

The officer walked in, followed by Waylon.

The officer said to Waylon. “We’ve investigated, and it turned out to be a simple misunderstanding.”

Waylon nodded.

After the officer left, he turned to look at Morrison. “Good job. You got locked up immediately after coming back.”

Morrison pointed at his head. “I was just trying to help, but I turned out to be the bad guy. Look at this. She did this.”
