Deedee looked up. “Grandpa?”

Colton suddenly showed up at the doorway. “Your father loves you, and that’s all you need to know.”

Deedee looked back at him and tilted her head. “Is that true?”

Colton nodded. “If your father didn’t love you, you wouldn’t be here.”

Deedee looked at Freyja. “But why didn’t he want to keep me?”

Freyja touched her hair. “That’s not true. He is just not around anymore. Do you know the stars in the sky? He’s watching you from there.”

Even though it was a fairy tale lie, telling her the truth would be too much for a child.

“Stars…” Deedee looked down. “My teacher said that people will turn into stars after they leave. So, Dad left us already, right?”

Colton walked behind her and placed his hand on her head. “But you can see the stars if you look up. Deedee nodded.

Colton nodded too. “We’ll turn into stars one day, and you will too.”

Freyja looked up at Colton, who looked so serious, and couldn’t help but chortle.

Deedee seemed to know what to-write then, so she picked up her book. “I’ll go finish my homework then.”

She went up the stairs.

Charm watched her go up and started baby-talking while reaching out her hand as if she wanted to go  with her.

Colton picked her up. “She’s going to do her homework, so you can’t be with her, okay?”

Charm wasn’t happy with that, so she waved her hand around, grabbed his face, then pushed it away.

Freyja got up and grabbed her tiny hands. “Our little baby is angry.”

Charm didn’t want her father to carry her anymore.

Colton rubbed his temples. “This kid must have learned from you.”

Freyja took Charm into her arms. “Are you unhappy?”

“I don’t even have a choice.” Colton chuckled helplessly. He put socks on Charm. “You mother and daughter are both in on this. You’re bullying me.”

Freyja said to Charm, “Kiss your daddy, or he will be unhappy.”

She moved Charm closer, and the latter planted a sloppy kiss with saliva on Colton’s cheeks. Colton was annoyed but still hugged both of them and kissed them back.

Deedee wrote an essay. ‘My Dad is a Star’ and got first prize in her year.

When she read out her essay during the assembly, all the teachers felt sorry for the little girl who had lost her dad.

Freyja and Colton were there at the beginning of the school year event. They stood outside her classroom and listened to her reading it.

Freyja pressed her lips together, but Deedee saw her through the window.

She smiled and waved at her to cheer her up.

Her class teacher walked over. “Are you here to see Deedee?”

Freyja nodded.

The teacher said, “Deedee’s essay was very touching. Losing her parents at such a young age is so sad.”

Colton held Freyja’s shoulder and said to the teacher, “Please take care of her at school.”

The teacher smiled. “I will. Deedee is a good girl, and I like her a lot.”

Freyja and Colton looked at each other and smiled.

Applause came from inside the classroom because she finished reading her essay. She bowed and beamed happily.

She was no longer the shy girl with low self-esteem. She was now a happy and cheerful girl.

Freyja and Colton left the school. Colton held her hand. “Deedee has broken out of her shell, so can you worry less now?”

Freyja smiled and said, “Yes, but we should give you credit for that.”

“We should thank Beatrice and Cameron. They were the ones who changed her.”

At the mention of Cameron, Freyja asked, “By the way, where did Cameron and Wayne go after their wedding? I haven’t seen them since that.”

He smiled. “Honey-mooning at the East Islands.”

Cameron sat on the folding chair, having some watermelon while watching people train at the martial arts

center.

Mahina, who sat next to her, sighed. “Should we go back in? You’re pregnant. You should rest more.”

Cameron sat up straight and looked at her. “We can’t always be resting. I’m just watching them train  anyway. I’m not the one training.”

She wasn’t allowed to do anything for almost a year. She might just go crazy.

Mahina signed again. “You just can’t sit still, can you?”

She smiled. “I can’t.”

Waylon walked over. Mahina patted her shoulder. “Wayne.”

Cameron turned to look at him.

Before she could speak, Waylon picked her up, and everyone who was training looked over.

Cameron put her arms around his neck. “What are you doing, Wayne? I’m at home. You need to let me have some dignity!”

“They’re training with weapons. You might get hurt.” He carried her in while Mahina followed them.

Cameron turned her face away. “They won’t hurt me. You two are just overly anxious.”

Waylon nodded. “We need to be worried because you are you.”

Cameron tried to talk back but had no retort.

“He’s right. You just can’t sit around. It would be terrible if you bumped into something.”

Cameron had nothing to say. Were they treating her like a child?

Waylon carried her back to the garden, where Sunny and Damian were playing chess in the pavilion. Damian looked up and teased, “Where did you go to have to be brought home like this?”

Sunny smirked. “You’re pregnant but still act like you’re a wild child. How could we not be worried?” Cameron took a deep breath and looked at Waylon. “Put me down!”

After he did, she walked into the pavilion. “Oh, chess. Dad, aren’t you ashamed of your skills?” Damian snorted.

Sunny looked up. “You’re upset that I lectured you, so you’re challenging me now?”

“Look at the board. How many of your pieces were taken already? Why can’t I call you out for being terrible at this?”

Sunny choked. “You-”

Damian laughed. “Cam, there’s no need to point out the obvious.”

Waylon walked into the pavilion, looked at the board, and saw a good move. “Father, move here and take his king.”

Sunny’s eyes shone with joy. “Oh, my good son-in-law.”

Damian’s smile faded.

Cameron glared at Waylon. “I’m going to have a match with you!”

Cameron and Waylon started their own game while Sunny and Damian moved out of their seats and became spectators. Mahina and some of the helpers crowded over too.

Cameron held her forehead and looked at the enemies who were pinning her pieces back. She went into deep thought.

Damian got close to Sunny. “Your daughter seems to have improved.”

Sunny crossed his arms. “She’s not playing against you or me so that improvement doesn’t help much.”

He looked at Waylon, who was playing at a steady pace, and got happier. “That’s my favorite son-in-law.”

At that moment, someone came to report. “Sir, a Mr. Wickam asks to see you.”

Sunny immediately replied, “Wickham… Nick is here. Get someone to bring him in quickly.”

Soon after that, Nick walked in with Dylan, who was carrying a gift box.

Sunny walked over, and Nick nodded. “Sir.”

“You finally came to visit me. There’s no need to bring a gift.”

Dylan handed the box to the butler.

Nick smiled. “I didn’t get to speak to you a lot the previous time, so I came today.”

Sunny nodded and placed his hand on his shoulder. “I’m very glad you came by. Let’s go into the house.”

As they walked past the pavilion, Nick saw the people there. “What are they doing there?”

“Oh, Cam is feeling blue, so she’s playing chess with Willy.”

Nick heard that and walked over.

Cameron looked up. “Oh, Mr. Wicham is here.”

Nick looked at the board and frowned. “How are you playing so terribly?”

Cameron’s face dropped, but Waylon smiled. “She improved.”

Nick looked at him. “You’re really good at this. Can we have a game together?”

Cameron got up because she had already lost a few rounds and was getting ashamed. She was looking for a reason to step away when Nick showed up.

She moved away. “Here, sit.”

Waylon squinted while Nick sat across from him. A new match began.

Their match was exciting, so even Sunny came over. Damien touched his chin. “They’re both not below me.”

The butler smiled and said, “There aren’t a lot of young people who can play chess now. They’re both doing very well.”

Sunny nodded.

Nick was really outstanding. Sunny had accepted him as a disciple because he saw potential in him. His martial arts skills weren’t too far off from Cameron’s either.

If Waylon hadn’t shown up, he would have wanted Nick to be his son-in-law.

Sunny was absolutely proud because both his son-in-law and disciple were connected to him.

Their match turned out to be a stalemate.

Damian walked closer. “Oh, both seem to be in good standing, and there’s no way to determine who wins.”

Nick looked at Waylon. “That was exceptional. I have no idea what move should come next.”

Waylon smiled. “You’re being too modest. There aren’t a lot of people who can stump me.”

Cameron crossed her arms. She had to admit that her game was terrible.

Mahina walked over and whispered, “I don’t understand what is going on. Who won?”

Cameron whispered back, “I don’t know chess that well. I have no idea either.”

Waylon looked up at her. “Cam, can you come over?”

She pointed at herself. “Me?”

Mahina pushed her over.

Waylon got up. “You continue playing this.

“What?”

Waylon made her sit down and leaned down next to her. “Trust me.”

Cameron looked at the board. When she didn’t know what move to make, Waylon said, “Move the bishop up three spots and block the rook.”

She moved the bishop.

Nick smiled. “That’s interesting.” He got serious too.

Cameron was caught in between the two men and started shuddering, but Waylon said, “Move the bishop back one square and block the other rook.”

Cameron listened to Waylon’s plan and finally won after half an hour.

Sunny looked at Damian and sighed. “We’ve learned something today.”

Cameron looked up at Waylon. “We won?”

He smiled. “A close one.”

Nick slowly got up. “I lost.”

Cameron got up and consoled him. “That’s not too bad. If it were me, I would have lost soon after we started. I’m much worse.”

Even Sunny felt ashamed. “I’m glad you’re aware of that.”

Damian chuckled. “Alright, it’s been a long game. I’m guessing everyone’s hungry now. How about I get everyone dinner at Yuzu Villa?”

Cameron gave a thumbs up. “Uncle Damian, I like your generosity.”

Everyone broke out in laughter.

Nick stood in the pavilion not far from there and looked up at the night sky after looking at them.

Sunny walked over in pajamas with his hands behind his back. “Can’t fall asleep?”

He turned around and smiled. “I’m just missing the time I was learning from you here.”

Sunny smiled too and sat at the table. “You were about 13 or 14 back then. I still remember it clearly.”

Nick took a seat and poured him some tea. “I remember that when I was sent here, I resisted you because I didn’t know you. Cameron… beat me up because of that.”

Picking up his cup, Sunny chuckled, “I raised Cam as a son for more than 20 years. She had a fiery temper before I sent her to the military school.”

Nick did not say anything.

James clicked his tongue and said, “It’s none of your business, right?”

After that, the winning director was announced, and as expected, Shannon got the honorary award for best director with The Fog.

Shannon got on the stage to receive the award and delivered his speech. “Thank you to all of you who are here, all of the guests, and the actors I worked with on The Fog. All of you are the best!

“Without you, I wouldn’t be able to stand here. Of course, I’d like to thank my production team and two other people, both of whom are familiar to you, Ms. Vanderbilt and Mr. Knowles.

“When we were shooting in Coralia, we encountered a blizzard and were left in the snow because our car broke down. It was Daisie and Mr. Knowles who gave their car to the production team so they could evacuate with their equipment while they stayed with us through the blizzard.”

Two hours later, the doctor came out of the delivery room. All of them gathered around him and asked, ”

The doctor was stunned for a moment, but he soon came around to his senses and asked, “Are you all her family members?”

“Yeah.”

Nollace hastily pressed on. “How is my wife?”

“The baby is too big for vaginal delivery, so we have no other choice but to perform the cesarean section. We need one of you to sign the consent form.”

Nollace suddenly grabbed the doctor by his collar. Veins were bulging out of his forehead as he said, “I want to go inside. I want to stay by her side.”

The doctor hesitated.

Sensing the doctor’s hesitation, Nolan stepped forward and said sternly, “He’s my daughter’s husband, so let him in. I’ll sign the consent form.”

He took over the form and signed his name on it. “Time is of the essence. Our priority right now is to save my daughter. Hurry up and start the operation!”

Nollace followed the doctor and changed into a protective suit. After that, he walked into the delivery room. When he saw that Daisie’s face was pale and she was so exhausted that she couldn’t even cry or scream anymore, he felt a clutch at his heart.

He walked forward and grabbed Daisie’s hand. “Don’t worry. I’m here.”

Daisie offered him a weak smile when she saw who he was. Her voice was hoarse when she said, “I look very ugly now, right?”

Seeing that she was worried about her own appearance instead of shouting in pain, Nollace wiped the sweat from her cheeks with his palm and smiled with his eyes red. “Of course not. You’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.”

The doctor injected her with anesthesia, and Daisie fell unconscious soon after.

Nollace went to the next room during the operation. When he heard the cry of the baby, he clenched his fist.

The doctor came out of the delivery room and smiled at them. “Congratulations, you have triplets, and all of them are boys.”

Everyone present was stunned.

Maisie and Nolan looked at each other and asked, “I thought it was twins?”

The doctor replied, “We’ve come across a few similar cases where we clinically thought it was twins but turned out to be triplets instead. However, the possibility is so slight, we’re surprised as well.”

It was naturally a good thing that they were bestowed with an extra baby.

By the time Daisie woke up, it was already nighttime. When she saw Maisie and Nolan, she called out to

Maisie caressed her cheek and said, “You’re finally awake. Does it hurt?”

“No. I think it’s because the anesthesia hasn’t gone off yet.” Daisie turned her head to look around and asked, “Where are the babies? Are they twins?”

Nolan tucked her in and replied, “You had triplets. All of them are boys. Cole and Freyja are watching over them in the labor room.”

“Triplets? All of them are boys?”

Daisie was stunned.

Maisie chuckled. “Yeah. What’s the matter? Were you expecting a baby girl?”

Daisie was caught between tears and laughter. “I went through so much pain, and in the end, it’s triplets? What’s more, all of them are baby boys!?”

Did this mean that she had prepared all the dresses and dolls for her baby for nothing?

Nollace appeared outside of the ward. Maisie patted Nolan, and they exited the ward first.

Daisie looked at Nollace and pouted. “Are you disappointed that you don’t have a daughter?”

Nollace walked up to her and sat on the chair. He grabbed her hand and said in a hoarse voice, “No. I’m not disappointed. Daisie, I… I thought I was going to lose you.”

She froze for a moment. When she saw his reddened eyes, she chuckled. “What are you talking about? I won’t leave either you or our babies.”

Nollace placed her hand on his lips and chuckled. “Yeah. It took you such a great effort to give birth to them. If they dare to disrespect you in the future, I’ll beat them up.”

Daisie laughed. “They’ll be as good-looking and smart as you. I don’t think I can bring myself to beat them.”

A week later, the news of Daisie giving birth to triplets swept through Bassburgh. All of her fans were excited and sent their blessings to her. Even Cameron and Waylon also rushed back to-Bassburgh to see Daisie.

Inside the ward, Cameron looked at the three swaddled babies in the crib. She couldn’t help herself and poked their faces. “I can’t believe you actually gave birth to triplets, Daisie. You’re so awesome.”

Daisie let out a bitter smile and said, “It would be even better if one of them was a baby girl like my mom’s case. I bought so many dresses and dolls, but all of them have gone to waste now.”

Although she kept saying that she wanted a baby girl, she still adored her three sons very much whenever she looked at them.

Waylon stretched his arm and petted her like he used to do in the past. “Alright. It doesn’t matter if it’s a baby boy or girl. What matters the most is that all of you are safe.”

She offered Waylon a smile and said, “Thank you, Waylon.”

Nollace and Colton bought a variety of nutritional products and fruits, which filled the ward to the brim.

When Colton saw Waylon and Cameron, he was stunned. “Wayne? When did you two come back?”

Waylon looked at him and replied, “Naturally, my sister has given birth to triplets. Cam and I had to come back.”

“Goddess Daisie, I’ve come to see you!”

James barged into the ward with his hands full of gifts. When he saw there were so many people in the ward, he froze.

Everyone turned their heads around and looked at him.

It was only now that Daisie remembered the things that James had said to them during their dinner with Shannon and the crew of The Fog. She looked at him gloomily and said, “It’s such a waste that you don’t go become a psychic. You’re so talented at it.”

James did not know why Nollace and Daisie were looking at him like they were going to kill him. He gulped and said, “What did I do? I just said that I’d worship you like a god. Why are you asking me to become a psychic?”

Cameron blinked and stood at the side with Waylon and Colton.

Daisie snorted and turned her head away. “You said my husband wouldn’t get a daughter, and look, all of my babies are boys.”

It was only now that James remembered he had said something like that before.

“Both are baby boys?” he asked.

“Three.” Nollace lifted his eyelids and shot daggers at him. “It’s all thanks to you.”

“T-Three?”

James turned his head around to look at the three swaddled babies in the crib. He hastily put the gifts on the floor and walked over to have a look at them. “Oh my, it’s real. You two are so lucky. Do you know how many people want to get three sons? You should feel grateful about it.”

Nollace took a deep breath and turned his head away.

The corner of Daisie’s lips twitched, and she said, “You owe me a daughter, James. Make sure you have a daughter in the future and marry her to my son. Otherwise, I’ll beat the hell out of you.”

James was stunned. “B-But I don’t have a girlfriend yet.”

Waylon and Colton placed their hands on his shoulder and chimed in. “We can introduce some to you if you want.”

James shrunk. “N-No thanks…”

‘Help me!!!’ he shouted inwardly.

Two days later, when Diana received news from Zlokovia that her daughter-in-law had given birth to triplets, she hoped she could throw everything aside and visit Daisie.

“Argh, I want to see Daisie so badly! If possible, I wish I could step down and leave. Why didn’t my father have a son? This is so frustrating!”

Diana was upset. She just wanted to see Daisie and her grandsons right now.

Rick, sitting beside her, let out a helpless smile and closed the book. “If you really want to see them so much, you can just make a video call with Nollace.”

Diana jerked up and said, “Then what are you still waiting for?”

Meanwhile, at Taylorton…

Nollace was learning how to change the baby’s diaper with the nanny when he suddenly received a phone call from his mother. He stepped aside and picked up the call. “Mom?”

“I want to see my daughter-in-law and my grandsons now!” Diana shouted at the top of her lungs, causing Nollace to bring the phone away from his ear to save himself from the shouting.

He frowned and answered helplessly, “Alright, alright.”

Daisie was in the next room and heard Diana’s voice. She came out and asked, “Is that Mom?”

When Diana saw Daisie through the video call, she got up anxiously and said, “Daisie, how can you get out of bed? You just had an operation. You need to rest more. Look how skinny you’ve become. I’m so worried about you.”

The corner of Daisie’s lips twitched.

Although she had lost some weight after labor, she was eight pounds heavier than in the past. Apparently, in all mothers’ eyes, their daughters were skinny.

“I’m fine, Mom. The incision doesn’t hurt that much anymore, so I can get out of bed today.”

“No, listen to me, you’re not fine. You need to get a lot of rest after giving birth. Or else, you’ll get sick easily in the future.” After Diana finished talking, her face sank, and she shouted, “Nollace!”

Nollace turned the camera to himself and replied helplessly, “Yes, Mom?”

Inside the baby room, Diana touched the screen as she looked at her grandsons through the phone. “Oh my, my grandsons are so adorable. I wish I could hold them now.”

Nollace put his phone away and said, “Alright, that’s enough. I’m hanging up.”

Before Diana could finish her sentence, Nollace hung up the call. He still had to practice how to change the diapers for the three rugrats, so he did not have time to entertain Diana now.

Standing at the door, Daisie chuckled. “It seems like someone is working very hard on how to become a good father.”

Nollace laughed. “Well, I can’t let them torture you anyway.”

Daisie walked up to him and kissed his cheek. He was slightly stunned and raised his head.

She smiled and said, “Thank you for your hard work, honey.”

“Is this my reward?”

“Of course.”

Nollace landed a kiss on her lips. After a short while, he left her lips and said, “I want a reward like this.” When they heard the doorbell, Daisie walked out of the room and looked downstairs. “You guys are here.” Waylon and Colton were walking at the front, while Cameron and Freyja were walking at the back. All of them were holding a lot of things in their hands.

The maids in the living room took over all of the stuff. All of them were baby products, such as milk powder, diapers, and so on.

Daisie walked downstairs and said, “You guys bought so many things again. I don’t have a place to keep them anymore.”

Cameron chuckled. “Freyja said raising a baby can be expensive, let alone you have three. All of these are chosen for you by Freyja.”

After all, Freyja was the first one among them to become a mother.

Daisie walked up to Freyja and grabbed her hand. “Thank you so much, Freyja.”

Freyja replied, “Don’t mention it.”
