Married by Mistake: Mr. Whitman's Sinner Wife chapter 2041

“Boss?” Carter was very curious about this address.

The waitress grinned and explained amicably, “Mr. Evan Laker. He's the biggest shareholder of this cafe.”

Once she had said that, Carter understood. He did ask around and looked into Evan.

He was a fairly prestigious young master of a rich family in F Country. Although he was unrestrained and loved to have fun, he was truly a very professional and talented pediatrician.

There were a lot of elites in his family  and almost all of them were specialists in their specialized field.

It was common to see a rich young master investing in a cafe to become the boss for fun.

Carter got rid of the doubts in his heart and walked upstairs.

When the waitress saw Carter walking upstairs, she walked to the entrance and locked the door quietly.

Carter only wanted to get an answer from Evan, so he was not thinking about other things at this moment.

However, when he walked to the second floor, Madeline's cold and beautiful face immediately appeared in his line of sight.

Carter abruptly stopped in his tracks and his eyes scanned his surroundings sharply. Upon seeing that no one else was around, he slowly understood what was going on.

Evan was not here. He did not have an answer. This was just a trap.

Nonetheless, Carter was still surprised that Madeline was in F Country.

This was not a coincidence, was it?

He thought to himself and looked at the icy and calm Madeline, and then his lips curled into a smile.

“Mrs. Whitman, your connections are really something else. I never expected that the person I long to contact is your friend.”

Carter's tone sounded sarcastic.

“Since Evan can help you set up an appointment to see me, it means that your relationship is out of the ordinary.”

“ I've only met him a few times and we're not that close. He only asked you out for me out of kindness.”

“Kindness?” Carter was smiling wider now. “But I don't think there's anything we can talk about now.”

After saying that, Carter turned around to leave.

“Carter, where did you hide my daughter?” Madeleine asked straightforwardly.

Carter stopped in his tracks. “I don't know what you're talking about.”

He denied, betraying no changes in his expression. “What do I have to do with your missing daughter?”

Madeline slowly stood up. “Carter, since I'm here, you should know that I didn't come to joke around with you.”

Madeline walked behind Carter with a stern expression.

“Where are you hiding my daughter? You're an adult in your 2os and you're bullying a five -year- old girl? What  the hell is this?"

Carter was still playing dumb to Madeline's questions.

“I  have no idea what you're talking about, and I don't know why you're here in F Country. I also have no idea about your daughter.”

Upon seeing that Carter was still denying it, Madeline decided to be direct and said, “Fabian and Evan are best friends.”

Carter's solemn face started to change. His gaze became dark as well.

Fabian and Evan were best friends?

He never would have guessed this. At one point, he was even suspecting whether Madeline was lying. However, this seemed to be the truth.

If this was not the truth, Madeline would not be standing here claiming that he took away her daughter with such confidence.

Married by Mistake: Mr. Whitman's Sinner Wife chapter 2042

“Carter, we're all adults, so you don't have to beat around the bush.”

“Alright,  I won't,”   Carter finally admitted.

As he spoke, he turned around, and his sharp and deep black eyes were staring straight at Madeline.

“Eveline, you want to see your daughter, don't you? I can make an exchange with you.”

Madeline furrowed her charming eyebrows. “What do you want from me?”

“Since you know Fabian and Evan, then it'll be easy. Get Evan to promise me that he'll ask his father to heal Shirley, then I'll give your daughter back to you.”

Carter voiced such a request for the exchange.

Madeline chuckled softly. “Evan and I are just strangers coming together by chance. I can't convince him, nor do I have the ability to convince his father.”

“You can't, but Fabian can.” Carter's tone was filled with absolute confidence.

Madeline also saw that determination in Carter's eyes.

It was heinous of him to make Lillian the term for the exchange, but at the same time, it also showed how much he cared about Shirley.

“What do you think. Eveline? Do you need time to consider?” Carter's tone sounded irreverent. At the present, Carter, no longer wanting to leave, walked over to the chair and sat down carefreely instead.

“I have all the time in the world, but I wonder, does your daughter have the time?”

Upon hearing Carter utter this statement that was so brazenly laced with threat, Madeline clenched her fists tightly. A few seconds later, she took a deep breath and unclenched her fists.

Madeline turned around and faced Carter who was sitting by the window.

His arrogant stone-cold expression was still the same as when she first met him, but the noble elegance was nowhere to be seen.

Presently, Carter was a prejudiced and heartless devil.

“Whether Evan agrees to save Shirley and you abducting my daughter are two separate things, Carter. Don't mix these two things.”

“ So, Mrs. Whitman, you're saying that you don't want to make this business deal with me?”

“Carter, my daughter is not your business capital. Do you know you're breaking the law?”

“Do you think I haven' t broken the law before? ” Carter asked Madeline back without hesitation.

His cold gaze penetrated her. “I don't want to waste time with you. Just answer me, yes or no.”

Carter's attitude at this moment was abnormally firm.

Madeline pressed her pink lips tightly.

“Yes.”

Suddenly, when Madeline was about to reject him, another voice came from the stairs.

Startled, she turned around to look for the source of the voice at the same time as Carter.

They saw Fabian and Evan walking upstairs one after another.

Carter's gaze went from Fabian and finally to Evan.

“As long as you can convince your father  to treat  my friend,  I can immediately release Lillian.”

Evan saw the absolute confidence in Carter's eyes. Of course, it was not difficult to convince his father, the hard part was with Fabian.

“Alright, I promise you on behalf of Evan.” Fabian quickly answered that question for Evan.

“Let Lily go right now, and Evan will go back immediately to ask his father to arrange a time to treat your friend.”

Carter looked at Fabian suspiciously and then at Evan.  “I  want an answer from you.”

“My answer is Evan's answer.” Fabian looked at Evan anxiously.

Evan, sensing sense Fabian's urgency and concern, agreed. “Carter, I'll go back to discuss this with my father. But this is predicated upon your guarantee that we can see Lillian immediately."

Married by Mistake: Mr. Whitman's Sinner Wife chapter 2043

When Evan agreed, a happy and contented smile appeared slowly on Carter's lips.

This was an unexpected gain.

He wanted to use Lillian to seek revenge on Jeremy, but now, Lillian became his most effective chess piece.

“Before your father agrees to see me, don't even think about seeing Lillian.”

“Carter! ” Fabian was a little mad.

When Carter saw Fabian getting mad, the smile on his face widened.

“What's wrong? Are you angry? Be angry all  you want, but  this is something  that you can't change. ”

After Carter finished saying that with a smirk, he parted his legs to go downstairs.

After taking two steps, he turned back to look at Evan.

“I'll be waiting for your answer. I hope you can give me a satisfying answer as soon as possible.”

Evan felt that he had never met such an arrogant person before. However, he had no choice so he could only allow Carter to behave so arrogantly.

Looking at Carter's carefree back figure, Fabian lifted his hand angrily and slammed it on the wall.

Madeline heard a thud, and she saw Fabian's face filled with melancholy and worry.

When Evan saw Fabian so agitated, he did not waste any time.

“Fab, I'll go home right now to discuss this with my father. Wait for my news.”

After hearing this, Fabian put aside his agitation and uneasiness, and then he solemnly and seriously thanked Evan, “Thank you, Evan. You're the only one who can save Lily now.”

“We're best friends,  so it'll make us seem unfamiliar if you thank me. I'll go back now. Keep in touch.”

As Evan said that, he also smiled at Madeline politely.

Before Madeline could thank him, Evan turned and left hurriedly.

Under their boss Evan's orders, the staff in the cafe brewed two cups of coffee for Madeline and Fabian. After sending the coffee upstairs, they left.

Soon after, the huge cafe quieted down, and only Madeline and Fabian remained.

Fabian, who did not seem to want to spend time alone with Madeline, wanted to leave, but Madeline stopped him.

“Sit down and talk.”

Madeline said and took the initiative to sit down on the sofa near the window.

Fabian stopped as he turned around. “I have nothing to talk to you about, Miss Montgomery. ”

After Fabian said that, he still wanted to leave.

Madeline looked at Fabian's back figure and said slowly.

“When you were drunk last night, Evan had told me a lot of things, including you donating your bone marrow to Lily...”

Fabian was about to walk downstairs when he froze. He then furrowed his brows and pursed his lips, seemingly annoyed.

“I'm sorry, Fabian.”

Fabian initially wanted to leave just like that, but then he heard Madeline apologizing to him suddenly.

Sorry?

Fabian did not understand Madeline's words. Wouldn't thank you be more appropriate?

This piqued Fabian's curiosity, so he turned around and slowly walked over to Madeline.

“Sorry? Why are you apologizing to me?”

Madeline lifted her beautiful crystal-clear eyes which were filled with sincerity.

“This whole time, I thought I was your good friend, but after so long, it seems that I've never cared about your feelings and emotions.”

After hearing what Madeline had said, Fabian was even more confused.

Married by Mistake: Mr. Whitman's Sinner Wife chapter 2044

However, Madeline was looking at him even more apologetically. “Yes, Yorick and Lana did a lot of things that went against human nature, morals, and even the law. I hated Lana. You can even say that I detested her. That's why I thought she got what she deserved. I also thought that Yorick should be executed for his crime, but I neglected the fact that they are your family.”

When Madeline said this, Fabian slowly understood why Madeline wanted to apologize. “ I'm sorry. I only thought about my family and my feelings this whole time, but I didn't think about your feelings. ”

Upon hearing this, Fabian frowned. It seemed that moisture appeared in his eyes without his realization.

“ I kept saying that I'm your best friend, but I am not qualified at all. As a friend, I should've been more like Evan. I should've stood in your shoes and considered your feelings.

“I suddenly realize why you feel so much hatred for me and Jeremy. We don't deserve a friend like you at all.”

Madeline smiled as she blamed herself.

“When Lana was killed by Ryan and Jeremy was being framed, you believed Jeremy unconditionally, and you even helped me find out who the real killer was. But I forgot to comfort you. At the end of the day, she's your biological sister after all.”

When Madeline said this, she started feeling heavy. “Fabian, I'm sorry, I...”

“Enough.”

Fabian interrupted her. His eyes were already red. “Stop talking.”

He stopped Madeline from continuing, and his tears nearly escaped his eyes.

Madeline got up and handed him a piece of tissue.

“I know you don't want to see me, but that's what I want to say to you, and also thank you. You should stay  here  and recompose  yourself.  I'll leave now.”

Madeline placed the tissue on the table in front of Fabian  and then started walking  toward  the stairs.

“Eveline.”

When Madeline heard the affection in Fabian's voice that she had not heard in a long time, she was caught off guard and very surprised.

She abruptly retracted her foot that had already stepped on the staircase.

Madeline could not believe what she had just heard. She then heard Fabian's clear voice from behind her again when she turned around.

“Eveline.”

When she heard it again, she was finally sure that she had not misheard him.

She turned around and saw Fabian standing not far away from her.

He stared at Madeline with red eyes, but there was no more repulsion or displeasure in his eyes as before.

Madeline smiled at him and walked toward him.

“ If you don't mind, you can treat me as your older sister in the future. I'll try my best to become a passable sister.”

Fabian smiled. He lifted his eyes slightly to force his tears back,  then he gave Madeline  a smile  of relief.

“Eveline, I think you misunderstand  something. ”

“Hmm?” Madeline looked at Fabian in confusion. “ What is it?”

“I respect you not because you're older than me. Instead, it's just how I show my affection.”

Fabian paused and finally gave her such an explanation.

'This is just how he shows his affection?'

Madeline was surprised, but she felt that this was understandable.

However, this whole time, she had thought that Fabian saw her as his older sister, the kind between siblings.

When he saw Madeline looking as if she had a flash of understanding and her surprised expression, Fabian continued explaining.

“Eveline, I never wanted to see you as my sister. The first time I met you, I was fond of you, but it's not the romantic kind because I knew you came because of Jeremy.”

Madeline looked at Fabian impressively. “You're so smart, Young Master Johnson, I had really underestimated you.”

“You did. Eveline, I'm guessing that there's one thing you still don't know, isn't right?”

“What is it?”

Married by Mistake: Mr. Whitman's Sinner Wife chapter 2045

“Actually, I didn't want to be your friend after that, and I didn't want to have any contact with Jeremy.” Fabian told her the truth.

This shocked Madeline.

It seemed that Fabian had rejected them at the beginning.

“But why did you still keep in contact with us after that?” Madeline asked.

Unhesitatingly, Fabian answered, “It's because of one person.”

Madeline quickly remembered that pure and adorable face. “Because of Lily?”

Fabian smiled and nodded. “Lily is such a delightful child.”

Madeline smiled upon hearing that, but after that, she felt her heart aching.

“Unfortunately, my precious daughter always gets into some horrible situations.”

“But I still believe no matter what trouble  she'd face, Lily could always find a way to safety. ” Fabian was very confident.

Madeline felt the same way, and she hoped so too.

“Perhaps, inexorably, you and Lily are connected by fate. Otherwise, what are the odds for your bone marrow matching Lily's?”

Fabian did not deny it. In fact, he agreed. “I think so too.”

He smiled and something profound was glistening in his eyes.

He always believed that he and Lillian had some extraordinary fate.

At the present, they had some hindrance between them.

Madeline and Fabian sat down to enjoy their fragrant coffee. As they looked at the gentle morning light illuminating the bustling street, the tense emotions they had all this time finally relaxed at this moment.

Approximately half an hour later, Fabian received a call from Evan.

However, judging from Fabian's frown, Madeline felt that this was not good news.

After a while, Fabian hung up.

Madeline asked hurriedly. “What is it? What did Evan say?”

Fabian looked at Madeline. He wanted to say something, but he paused for two seconds before speaking.

“Evan is coming right now. We'll go into details when he's here.”

When Fabian said this, Madeline knew this was not as simple as it seemed.

She and Fabian drank their coffees, but when the coffee entered their mouths, all they could taste was bitterness.

About half an hour later, Evan arrived hurriedly.

Although he had asked the staff to make him an iced Americano on this winter day, when he drank the cold and bitter coffee, he looked as if he was drinking plain water, drinking half of the glass in a moment.

“Evan, how did the discussion with your father go?” Madeline asked anxiously.

Evan shrugged helplessly. “My father's schedule is too full, so he really can't make time to treat Carter's friend.”

Evan leaned against the sofa helplessly. “It's not that he doesn't want to help, but every patient on his schedule needs his help.”

He was right. They could not cut the queue in this kind of thing.

“If we don't arrange something for Carter, something bad might happen to Lily. ” Lillian was always in Fabian's heart. “But you should know that Lily's in her recovery period. If something were to happen to her during this time, the damage could be so severe to her body that it will never recover.”

Married by Mistake: Mr. Whitman's Sinner Wife chapter 2046

Upon hearing Fabian's words, Madeline's face changed, and her heartstrings tightened again.

She knew that it would not be easy for Lillian's physical indicators to be restored to what it was now. If there were any more accidents and mistakes, as Lillian's mother, she really could not bear it, and she also did not know how to give Lillian a better treatment.

However, this kind of thing could not be forced.

Both Fabian and Evan observed that Madeline's expression had become tense.

Although she did not say anything, they all understood how flustered Madeline was as a mother at this moment.

“ I have a way to bluff Carter temporarily, ” Fabian said, after thinking for a while.

Madeline came back to her senses. “I  think this is he only thing we can do now.”

“Do you know what I'm talking about?” Fabian looked at Madeline somewhat unexpectedly.

Madeline smiled. “I think I know. "

Evan was at a loss as he listened to this conversation. “What exactly are you talking about?”

“Evan.” Madeline looked at Evan with a sincere look. “This may put your father in an awkward position, but I have no other way. I hope you can convince your father to meet Carter.”

“Yes, Evan, please go back again. It'll be fine as long as you persuade your father to discuss the treatment with Carter. You don't necessarily have to arrange a time for the treatment soon,” Fabian chimed in as well, but he was not forcing Evan.

Evan understood what Madeline and Fabian meant. He thought about it for a while and agreed to it, then he stood up. “I'll go back and discuss it with my father.”

“Thank you for going through the trouble, Evan,” Madeline thanked him sincerely.

Evan smiled and turned his head. “I'm also a

doctor. Not to mention that Lily is also my patient, so I have my obligations and responsibilities.”

He left without looking back.

Madeline sighed silently, but at the same time, she also sighed ruefully in her heart.

Although there were always challenges and

difficulties on the way onward, she would always meet good people who would overcome those challenges with her along the way.

Therefore, God still favored their family.

Not long after, Madeline and Fabian received a call from Evan. His father had agreed to meet with Carter to discuss treatment.

This was certainly good news.

With this bargaining chip, Fabian also contacted Carter immediately.

Very satisfied, Carter agreed on a meeting time, but he said that he would only allow Madeline and Fabian to meet Lillian after Carter had met with Evan's father.

Since Lilian was in Carter's hands, Made line and Fabian had no right whatsoever to argue or refuse; they could only do what he wanted them to do.

Shirley did not know what kind of phone call Carter received just now. After Carter had answered the call, she could obviously feel that Carter's mood improved a lot.

However, Shirley did not want to ask Carter what it was.

She brought the peeled apples to Lillian and showed her an amiable smile.

“Lily, have some apples. It's good for your body."

Lillian nodded obediently. She then held the fruit bowl obediently and started eating quietly at one side.

Shirley looked at Lillian, her eyes became gentler and kinder, but at the same time, it was also full of yearning.

“ If it weren't for Jeremy, we'd have our own child soon.” Carter's voice, brimming with bitterness, came from the side.

Shirley quickly returned to her senses. She looked at the adorable and cute Lillian, but the corner of her mouth lifted into a sardonic smile.

“Even if our child were born one day in the future, he would not want to see a father like you. You keep saying that you love me and act like you love this child, but in fact, you've always done things for yourself. You're only here in F Country to seek revenge on Jeremy.

Shirley's words caused Carter's face to turn gloomy suddenly. “Shirley, do you really think that I came to F country for this trivial thing?”

Married by Mistake: Mr. Whitman's Sinner Wife chapter 2047

“Aren't you? Didn't you abduct Lily to retaliate against her father?” Shirley said coldly without raising her head.

Carter knew Shirley would think of him this way, so he did not even bother explaining.

“You will soon know the true purpose of me bringing you to F Country.”

After Carter finished speaking solemnly, he lowered his eyes and turned his attention to Lillian who was eating an apple.

“The enemy's daughter is eating apples so happily, while my child could only eat dust. Hmph! ” Carter sneered and suddenly, he reached out and pushed the fruit bowl in front of Lillian away.

With a clang, the fruit bowl fell on the plush carpet.

Lillian was obviously taken aback by Carter's behavior.

She stared blankly at Carter, who was throwing a tantrum, with her big, pure, and clean eyes.

Upon seeing this, Shirley immediately scolded Carter, “Carter, you are a grown man. There are

many ways to vent any dissatisfaction in your heart and yet you lose your temper with such a small child.”

As she spoke, she suddenly showed a glad yet sarcastic smile.

“Fortunately, that child is gone. If that child were born, he'd be sad for having a father like you.”

When Carter heard this, his eyes sank instantly.

“ If our child had a chance to come into this world, I'd definitely spoil him so that he becomes the happiest child in the world. But who is this little thing? She's not my daughter, so why should I be polite to her?"

“Aren't other people's children also children?” Shirley asked, the disappointment in her eyes intensifying. “How did you become like this? You're so cold-blooded because of that so-called hatred in your heart.”

After she finished speaking, she stopped looking at Carter and then reached out her hand to Lillian.

“Lily, ignore him. We'll go back to the room to sleep.”

Lillian obediently placed her hand into Shirley's palm before turning around with her.

Annoyed, Carter took out the cigarette case from his coat pocket.

He rarely smoked, but since that thing happened in the Royal Palace of St. Piaf, he would want to smoke whenever he met some trouble.

It seemed as if this could make him temporarily forget all the troubles.

However, after the cigarette was completely burnt, the things upsetting him came to mind one after another.

The child whom he was not destined to meet. Shirley's body.

Carter irritably put out the cigarette he had just lit, turned, and left the hotel.

That night, Madeline followed Fabian to his villa.

Fabian took Madeline to Lillian's room and gave Madeline all the reports on Lillian's physical condition these days.

Madeline sat by the bed, flipping through Lillian's medical records over the past few months.

These data were neatly organized, and Madeline could clearly see that Lillian's physical indicators were getting closer to normal day by day.

As Madeline read those records, she started to feel moisture in the corners of her eyes.

She was such a young child and yet she had suffered so much.

She was a delicate flower that grew up in the greenhouse. She had never known the sinister nature of society, but evil and dark forces had repeatedly poured into her clean and innocent world to hurt her young and innocent heart.

“Lily is indeed a very sensible and obedient girl,” Fabian exclaimed, a smile of joy overflowing on his handsome face.

“Even though she can't speak, she always expresses her thoughts through actions. Sometimes when I'm upset, she'll stay quietly by my side to accompany me.”

Married by Mistake: Mr. Whitman's Sinner Wife chapter 2048

The more Fabian talked about that, the brighter the smile on his face. At the same time, there were also some looks of distress on his face.

“She should be innocent at this age. I don' t want her to be so sensible.”

Madeline understood what Fabian meant. She felt the same way in her heart.

A child should be innocent and unaffected at their age, but Jack and Lily were already so sensible at such a young age.

Madeline sighed silently. Her heart was throbbing, and she felt a little pain.

“You should rest early. I'll go back to my room first. I'll take you to Evan's house tomorrow morning. ”

“Yeah. ” Madeline nodded. She looked at Fabian's back and she wanted to thank him again, but she felt that it would a little redundant.

After Fabian had left, Madeline made a video call to Jeremy.

Jeremy was surprised to learn that Madeline was presently at Fabian's house.

“Did he agree to let you see Lily?” the man in the video asked in shock as he gently furrowed his bushy eyebrows.

Madeline smiled and nodded. “Not only did he agree to let me see Lily, but he'd also relieved the grudges between us.”

Upon hearing this, Jeremy was even more surprised.

“Linnie, what happened? Why did Fabian suddenly change so much? And what about Lily? Why didn't I see our baby girl?”

Upon hearing this, Madeline spaced out for a second. She quickly returned to her senses and expressed as naturally as she could, “Lily needs to stay in the hospital tonight for some observation because of her body. I'll be going to the hospital again tomorrow morning.”

After hearing Madeline's answer, Jeremy kept feeling that something was amiss, but he did not think much about it. After expressing how much he missed Madeline and telling her to be careful, he hung up the phone.

Madeline was inwardly relieved. She was worried that Jeremy would ask more about Lillian.

She was really bad at lying to him.

Madeline then took a short shower and lay down on Lillian's usual bed.

Looking at the various plush dolls on the bed, Madeline could feel that Fabian was truly diligent in taking care of Lillian.

Maybe Madeline had been too narrow-minded; Lillian was no worse than with them compared to staying with Fabian.

The next day, Madeline woke up early.

When she went downstairs, Fabian was already up.

After eating the simple breakfast prepared by the servant, Fabian drove Madeline to Evan's house.

However, as soon as he was on the road, Fabian received a call from Evan again and he said that the location had changed. According to Carter, the meeting place was changed to the cafe yesterday.

When Madeline and Fabian arrived, Evan and his father were already there, but Carter had not yet arrived.

When Madeline saw Evan's father, at a glance, he looked like a very well-trained professional with an extraordinary presence.

After thanking him, Madeline sat down in the lounge on the second floor and waited for Carter.

However, it was now more than half an hour since the agreed time, and Carter still had not shown up.

Fabian lost his patience and immediately called Carter.

The phone went through, but no one  answered.

“What the hell is Carter doing? He requested this place and time, but he still hasn't appeared yet.

What trick is he trying to pull?”

Married by Mistake: Mr. Whitman's Sinner Wife chapter 2049

As soon as Fabian had finished complaining, they heard a jingle from downstairs of the coffee shop.

It was the sound of wind chimes when the door opened.

The cafe was closed today, so Carter was the only one who would enter the store at this time.

Sure enough, they heard the waiter's polite voice in the next second, “Mr. Gray, you are here. The boss and his friends are already waiting for you upstairs. What would you like to drink?”

Carter turned a deaf ear and, without even sparing a glance at the waiter out of the corner of his eye, walked toward the stairs on his own.

Carter seemed to frown in dissatisfaction when he saw that Madeline and Fabian were also there on the second floor.

“Why are you here too?”

Fabian stood up suddenly, his expression colder than Carter's.

“Carter, Professor Laker whom you want to see is already here. We have done what you asked for, so I hope you can also fulfill your promise.”

“Heh. ” Carter sneered indifferently. After that, he walked past Madeline and Fabian as if he did not see them and walked straight to Evan's father.

After confirming that he was the same person in the photo he had investigated, Carter had a rather satisfied smile on his face.

“Hello, Dr. Laker. I'm Carter Gray, and I want to talk to you about the physical condition of my friend in detail.”

Evan's father nodded and smiled amicably. “Mr. Gray, please tell me. I will give you a reasonable treatment plan after understanding the condition in detail.”

Carter followed with a smile, but then, he scanned Madeline and the gang in displeasure.

“I just want to talk to Dr. Laker. If you want to see Lillian after this, you should leave us alone.”

“Carter, you...” Fabian was angry, but Madeline stopped him when he wanted to say something more.

“Let's go out and wait,” Madeline said,  lowering her eyes and looking at Carter with a cold and arrogant expression. “Even though he may have no

integrity with us, I believe that he won't fool around with his good friend's condition.”

When Carter heard that, the sneer on his lips stiffened slightly. He raised his sharp narrow eyes to meet Madeline's gaze. He clearly knew that Madeline was referring to Shirley.

Madeline looked into Carter's eyes fearlessly before turning around coolly.

Fabian glared at Carter, then he followed Madeline downstairs angrily.

Evan glanced at his father. He was a little worried to let Carter talk to his father alone.

As if seeing Evan's concerns and worries, his father was very easy-going and calm. “Evan, you and your friends ought to head outside and wait first. I'll talk with Mr. Gray alone.”

“Okay, I'll go downstairs first. Call me if anything happens.”

“Okay.” Evan's father smiled slightly. His kind face made others feel very comfortable.

After hearing his father's reply, Evan went downstairs.

They did not wait outside either, but instead, they found a quiet corner downstairs and sat down. They waited patiently as they drank coffee.

Soon after sitting down, Madeline received a call from Jeremy.

She knew that Jeremy must have come to ask about Lily's situation, but she could not let Jeremy see Lillian now, so she had to ignore the call.

“Was that Jeremy?” Fabian was a little puzzled by Madeline's actions. “Why didn't you answer his call?”

Madeline smiled faintly. “I video called him last night and said that I would go to the hospital to see Lily today, but in fact, Lily isn't in the hospital,  and I can't let Jeremy see Lily now.”

Madeline reluctantly put down the phone.

“We'll wait for Carter and Professor Laker to finish talking. Then, I'll see if I can try to get Carter to let me and Lily meet first. I'm really worried about the kid.”

Madeline looked at the phone screen that lit up again, and her heart became a little anxious.

“Don't worry, Eveline. Lily was taken away by Carter from my hands. So, I will definitely take Lily back from Carter's hands. I promise you.” Fabian made a firm promise.

Married by Mistake: Mr. Whitman's Sinner Wife chapter 2050

Madeline certainly believed that Fabian had such a determination, and she could see Fabian's unique care and love for Lily.

Approximately half an hour later, Madeline finally heard movement at the stairs.

Carter and Evan's father seemed to have finished talking.

The trio stood up simultaneously and saw Carter taking the lead as he came down the stairs.

“Carter.” Madeline was the first to stop Carter.

“Even if you don't release Lily for the  time  being, you should at least  let me  see her first. I just want  to know how my daughter is now.”

Carter was unmoved by what Madeline said. “The specific treatment plan isn't out yet, so you won't see your daughter for the time being.”

“Carter, this is too much. You should leave  some room for maneuver  no matter what  you do. Don't you think this will help your injured female friend?"

Fabian said in a dull tone, but his words also bore threats.

Carter frowned and then smiled.

“Okay, I'll let you meet her, but just you.”

Carter's eyes locked onto Madeline's beautiful eyes.

“Come with me now. None of them are allowed to follow us. If I find them following us, then we will end this deal immediately."

After Carter had finished speaking, he continued to walk forward in a cool manner.

Madeline looked at Fabian and Evan, then she motioned that they did not need to follow her. She then hurried to chase Carter.

Fabian had the urge to follow them because he was worried that Madeline would be in danger.

However, this time, Evan stopped him. “Fab, don't go.”

“Eveline might be in danger. Carter is not a man of his words.”

“Unless he hopes that the close female friend he cares about has a chance of recovery, ” Evan said as he looked at Carter's back figure.

Even if this were the case, Fabian was still worried. He even wanted to ask someone to follow them in secret, but he was afraid Carter would find out if he had done that.

He did not want to cause more unnecessary problems to Madeline.

At this moment, his phone rang. It was Jeremy.

When he thought about the two calls Madeline ignored, Fabian figured Jeremy must be worried about her so that was why he called him.

Nevertheless, after thinking about it, he did not pick up. He sent him a message instead.

[Your wife and I are monitoring your daughter's condition in the hospital, so we can't come to the phone right now. You can call Eveline later.]

Not long after he sent the message, Jeremy replied with two words. [Thank you.]

Fabian was moved when he saw those two words.

Back then, Jeremy, Madeline, and himself had been pretty close friends. Perhaps their relationship was not as simple as close friends.

On the other side.

Madeline and Carter sat in the backseat of a cab. The two of them were not speaking.

The driver thought that they were a couple who had just fought when he sensed such a heavy and tense atmosphere. When he wanted to help them mediate this situation, he suddenly heard Carter speak frigidly. “Why are you in such a hurry to see her? Are you worried that I'll kill your daughter directly to seek revenge on Jeremy?”
