Chapter 1211 Mason extracted an envelope from his pocket, “Here are ten cheques, they total up to eight hundred million. Give it to John, it’s your ticket out of this place.”
Sherry was visibly affected upon seeing this. To think that Shannon would go to Mason to ask for the money after failing to get it from Janine. She sure was resourceful!
It seemed like Mason had foreseen Sherry refusing to take the money. He smiled softly and explained, “Sherry, | know that the reason you ended up in this situation is because of our two families. If not for you trying to persuade John to pour money into our foundations , we would become history in Glanchester long ago. Look, we’ve made a significant amount of returns over the last year and it is only right that we repay our debt to you.”
Sherry grimaced and stayed silent.
Mason made a good point, the Fowlers and the Browns did owe a debt to her. However, it also had to be stated that eight hundred million was not a trivial amount of money. Even if the debt had to be repaid, it should not only come from Mason’s pocket, the Fowlers should play a part in settling the debt as well.
“Sherry, if you don’t take this money, I’ll feel guilty for the rest of my life.” Mason sighed and expressed,“ Besides, are you going to stay here and work for him for the rest of your life?”
Of course Sherry did not want that.
After a few seconds of silence, she decided, “Alright, I’ll consider this a loan from you, I'll pay it back in the future.” 2 Mason expressed with a smile, “Come on, there's no need to be so formal with me.”
Sherry frowned, “If you don’t see it as a loan, then I’m not going to take it.”
Mason hurriedly agreed to her terms, “Alright , alright, it’s a loan. You can pay it back if you have the money and if you don't, it's alright.”
Sherry was materialistic and was not one to turn down a freebie, but she still had standards of her own to uphold 1. to.
She intended to pay it back to Mason in time, otherwise, things would never get resolved properly between them.
She took the envelope and thanked him with a smile , “. Thank you, I’ll take the money then.”
Mason smiled back at her, “You're welcome , when are
you going to pay the money back to John?”
“As soon as he comes back.”
“Okay, just let me know after it’s settled , I'll come pick you up.”
“It's alright, I'll find some way out of there.”
“Look, | know that John is not known for being predictable , I’m just worried he’s not going to willingly let you go even after you settle the debt. It'll be dangerous if you have to deal with him by yourself, let me come pick you up.” He smiled radiantly, “Don’t worry, | will take you to the airport first thing after | pick you up. You can go wherever you want after that, | won’t stop
you.” Sherry seemed rather moved by his offer and smiled at him sincerely, “Okay, thanks again, Mason.” Mason looked at her with a gentle look in his eyes,” You’re welcome.”
Creak.
Suddenly, they heard the creak of the door slowly opening. “Clap clap...”
It was soon followed by the sounds of hands clapping. Sherry was startled by this and immediately turned to look. It was John. Tall and intimidating as ever, his threatening figure stepped past the doorway.
He was clapping while wearing a stoic smile. It was only the shape of a smile that formed on his lips, it never reached his eyes. He was regarding them with a dangerous look.
Sherry felt herself turning pale, her body began to tremble against her will. Mason promptly stepped in front of her to protect her. He looked at John and asked with a deep frown, “Master Stockton, what brings you here?”
John ignored him and looked directly at Sherry with a smile, “Sherry, you’re more capable than | thought you were. To think that some fool would be reckless enough to pawn off all his assets and spend every cent they have on you.” Sherry took a deep breath.
Before she could utter a word, John howled with laughter and continued, “Oh, | almost forgot, didn’t you dump me for him back then? Then again, you also sacrificed yourself and willingly played the part of being my lover so that you could bail him and your family out of that terrible financial crisis. It’s only right that he should return the favor.”
Mason’s eyes widened, “What did you say? She was your lover for a year?”
“Yeah, we were together until the night before my wedding.” He smirked audaciously and asked in a provoking tone, “What? Didn’t she tell you about it?”
Mason turned around and looked at Sherry with hatred in his eyes.
Chapter 1212 Mason wore a look of pain and betrayal, his voice became hoarse as he expressed his sorrow, “Sherry, didn’t you tell me that you were traveling at the time?”
Sherry could feel her body stiffening , she clenched her hands into fists. She took a deep breath to stifle her contempt for the man.
She could not look at Mason and only glared at John.
John smiled cunningly, even now he was oozing charisma.
Sherry rushed in front of John in an instant and grabbed him by his collar. She stood on her tiptoes so she could face and challenge him, “John, you bastard! I'll kill you if you keep running your mouth and talking about things like that!”
John smirked, “I don’t believe you, why don’t you prove it to me?”
Sherry raised a fist immediately.
That was when Peter along with several bodyguards charged in from the other rooms connected to the living rooms.
They were rushing into the living room from all angles.
It was quite the scene that immediately alerted Shannon
and Celine who had been keeping guard outside the courtyard the entire time.
They rushed to the scene as well.
Upon seeing John in the living room, Shannon’s face turned horridly pale, “Jo... John, why are you here?”
John ignored her and continued fixing his attention on Sherry, “So, are you still going to hit me?” Sherry’s fist was stuck in midair. John smiled and said softly to her, “If you’re not going to start, then I'll do the honors.”
Sherry was thrown off guard by what was happening.
The very next second, she felt a hand pressed against her waist, her entire body was flung sideways.
She shove him away immediately and howled, “Let go of
me!”
John merely scoffed and increased his strength instead.
Sherry was subdued without much effort, her hands were pressed behind her back and in his clutches.
Meanwhile, Mason tried to rush to her rescue upon seeing what was happening but was quickly cut off by two bodyguards. Shannon tried to rush to them as well but was quickly dissuaded by the bodyguards too.
Mason screamed urgently, “John, let her go! She has the money to settle the debt she owes you, she’s not your servant anymore! Let her go!”
Shannon looked at John with her eyes glowing red,“ John, she’s my sister! People are going to get the wrong idea if you do this, please let her go, won’t you?”
John looked at Sherry whose face was flustered and burning red, he hardly spared a look at the others.
He laughed smugly and accused her, “Sherry, how dare you sneak around and meet another man without my permission, what do you think | should do to you?”
Sherry was furious, “Bah! What | do doesn’t concern you at all. It's none of your business even if | went out and saw a hundred different men, now let me go you scum!”
“Oh, haven't you forgotten? You are still my servant.” Sherry glared at him, “Let me go already!”
John wrapped his arms around her and refused to let go. Instead, he only drew his handsome face closer to her and repeated, “I won't let go.”
Sherry, “...You-”
He pressed his lips against hers.
Sherry grimaced viciously and glared at him after the kiss.
John was amused, “What, are you done already?”
Sherry gritted his teeth and glared at him.
He suddenly turned away.
At last, he had turned his wretched face away from Sherry, even if just briefly.
Sherry seized the opportunity and declared, “It was you who said that you would let me go as soon as | repay the debt of eight hundred million to you. Here’s the money, now fulfill your end of the promise and let me go!”

John glanced at the envelope Sherry clenched onto tightly the entire time she was being tossed about, then he shot a look at Peter.
Peter approached immediately and took the envelope out of Sherry’s hand. He opened the envelope and revealed a stack of cheques inside it. He went through them one after another before turning to John, “Master Stockton, these add up to eight hundred million.”
John suddenly frowned with ice in his eyes.
Chapter 1213 Peter remarked with stark astonishment, “But they seem forged to me.”
Sherry‘s eyes widened.
Mason and Shannon both suddenly grew restless as well. 1
Before they could protest, John announced, “Since they're fake, throw them away then.” “Very well.”
Peter stuffed the stack of cheques back into the envelope and threw it at Mason’‘s feet.
At the very same instant that the envelope hit the ground, Sherry headbutted John’s chin in one ferocious swing Thump!
John was unprepared and fell over backward.
Sherry seized the opportunity to break free from him, then she turned and ran towards Mason.
She had to get the envelope back!
She had barely taken a step when a crew of bodyguards swarmed her.
She tried to throw her weight against them but instead of
managing to push through them by brute force, she merely bounced off of their bodies. In an instant, she was seized and arrested by them again.
That was when John pulled her into his arms again.
She turned to him and glared at him, “Let me go or I'll kill you!”
Her eyes were like that of a provoked beast, it seemed like her teeth would grow into fangs at any second. This coupled with the red mark left on the center of her forehead from her previous headbutt against John’s chin made her look like a feral beast.
She was fierce but nowhere near threatening.
John laughed at the sight of her.
From his rumbling laughter, one could tell that he nevér took her seriously.
Overwhelmed with rage, Sherry aimed at his chin and put her all into another attempt at head—butting him. Everyone was silent.
All around her was Peter, the bodyguards, and even Mason and Shannon who were made speechless by what they saw. A collective shock seized the air around them when they saw how bold Sherry was.
Just as soon as Sherry swung her head at John, he suddenly ducked to the side.
Her attempt fell short and hit nothing but the air.
John wrapped his arms around her waist.
Not only did Sherry fail to attack John, but she also ended up throwing herself into his arms.
He rose and pulled her off the ground.
In an instant, she found herself suspended mid-air and propped upon his shoulders. She suddenly felt dizzy, she must have overexerted herself. She furiously smacked his back with her tiny fists, “I said let me go! I'll kill you!”
John looked straight ahead and ignored her blank threats. He strode off and carried her out of the living room in the blink of an eye. “John, let her go! This is illegal and also an immortal act!” Mason yelled after John and tried to chase after him but was quickly cut off by the bodyguards. 1
Shannon tried to catch up to John as well but was similarly stopped by two bodyguards standing nay the doorway. All she could do was to shout and plead from a distance,“ John, let her go! She is my sister, | am your wife!” | Despite her cries, John and Sherry vanished shortly after stepping out into the courtyard.
Shannon‘s eyes were red with equal parts rage and helplessness.
Shortly after that, Peter came up to her. He regarded Shannon with a troubled look before turning to Mason, “Master Brown, please take the money back. You're a smart man yourself, you should know that all this time, Master Stockton was only holding the eight hundred million against Sherry so he could keep her by his side. No matter how much money you brought today, he was not going to budge either way.” With that, Peter handed Mason the envelope he picked up off the ground.
Mason frowned.
Peter sighed and insistently tucked the envelope into his jacket pocket. With that, he turned back to Shannon again and excused himself politely, “Ma‘am, | have things to attend to and will be taking my leave for now.”
Next Chapter
Chapter 1214 Peter immediately made for the courtyard. The bodyguards perched in front of Shannon and Mason swiftly followed after Peter and evacuated the living room. Shannon shuddered, then she took a deep breath and proceeded out into the courtyard as well, her face wrenched with nerves.
Mason frowned and soon went outside as well. Before he could draw himself into the courtyard , two bodyguards came out of nowhere and cut off his oath.
They pointed at the door behind him and said, “Master Brown, please leave.”. Mason clenched his fists.
John and Sherry‘s figure was nowhere to be seen, they had long departed.
He was consumed with darkness and depression , he felt completely powerless in the face of John and knew that there was nothing he could do.
He swallowed his contempt, then turned around and left, his head downcast and defeated. 1 John carried Sherry to his courtyard and into the place where he had previously kept her jailed for a year.
Despite being vacant for two months, it still looked the same as before inside , even the weeds in the garden had been trimmed appropriately so it seemed as if this area was completely unscathed by the passing of time.
Sherry was seized with horror upon realizing where she was,
This was the place where she was once kept like a prisoner, there was nothing she could do to pass time save for embroidering here and she was subjected to eating the same tasteless food every day. Memories of the monotonous and dull life she led here came rushing back to her.
She suddenly wrestled in his arms, “You bastard! Put me down!” He clutched her legs in his arms so she could not move at all, then he strode into the room.
Sherry‘s hands had grown numb from constantly pounding against John, she was running out of strength by this point. Her eyes were burning red, she widened her jaw and tried to bite into his back.
Bang!
John kicked the door open.
Sherry was startled.
Her teeth only barely grazed his back, then she was hung into the room.
Bang!
She crashed against the bed.
Fortunately, the mattress cushioned her fall. She rolled around on the bed and then regained her balance on her feet. She was immediately confronted by John‘s intense and demonic expression.
She retreated away from him and glared at him icily,” John, I'm just your servant, remember? I'm not your lover, you have a wife!”
He approached her and grabbed her jaw with his gigantic hands.
He curled his lips into a devilish smile and said, “You're right.”
Sherry turned away and tried to fling his hand away.
He tightened his grip around her jaw.
Sherry could not shake him off, she screamed at him at the top of her voice, “Get your stinking hands off of me right now! Heh. He chuckled softly and lowered his head.
His face was only inches away from hers.
Sherry wanted to get away from him but there was nowhere for her to retreat to.
His lips were so close to touching hers, she could feel his warm breath beating against her lips when he spoke,” Sherry, I've changed my mind. | no longer want you as my servant, | want you as my lover.”
Sherry froze, she immediately protested, “I don‘t want—*
She was silenced by his lips pressing against hers. She vigorously shoved her arms against him.
Chapter 1215 But it was no use. Immediately after that, she was pinned against the bed by his sheer weight, they sank into the mattress.
No matter how hard she struggled , he refused to budge. Before long, her clothes were thrown all over the floor. After a long time had passed, the man finally stopped. She was just getting up when she was mightily forced into the bed again.
She glared at John, her eyes teeming red with tears, “You bastard, I'll never forgive you! Even if | die, | would never let you touch me again—*
John flung his bothersome glasses out of the way and continued to suffocate her with his kiss.
After yet another prolonged kiss, he smiled and declared, “I'll have my way with you no matter what.” Meanwhile, on the other side of the courtyard.
Shannon was standing by the entrance, she was very irritated.
Two bodyguards stood in front of her and would not let
her enter.
She tried as best as she could to plead her case and convinced them to let her enter. Despite her best attempts, it did not seem like they were going to let her pass anytime soon.
Left without a choice, she erupted, “I am the wife of your master, | am the madam of the family! If you dare to oppose me, I'll have both of you fired! Go ahead and try me!”
The two bodyguards remained motionless , one of them answered her after a prolonged silence, “I'm very sorry madam, we only follow the instructions of the Young Master. He said that no one is allowed to enter, we cannot let you in.”
Shannon‘s eyes grew red with resentment and jealousy. She cast another icy glare at them again before she around and walked towards Madam Stockton‘s room.
As soon as she arrived at Madam Stockton‘s, she was swiftly informed by one of the housemaids, “I'm very sorry, but Madam Stockton is not feeling well and is resting at the moment. It will probably take some time before she wakes up.”
Shannon frowned irritably. Of all times, why did she choose to fall sick at such a crucial moment?
Shannon took a deep breath and answered politely to the servant, “Please inform her that something major has happened that demands her immediate attention.”
The housemaid replied dutifully, “I will be sure to inform her after she wakes up.” Shannon‘s expression dropped. She glared at the housemaid one last time before leaving and heading to Julie‘s.
She did manage to see Julie at least. Julie seemed vexed when she heard Shannon recounting the tales of what happened, what with John carrying Sherry away and how Shannon was refused entry.
“Look, | fully understand how you feel, but you and Sherry are sisters so you of all people should know about the past between her and my brother. | think that my brother may still have lingering feelings for her.”
Shannon‘s expression turned to stone.
Although she and Julie mostly kept to themselves and never interacted much, they are mostly cordial with one another. There had never been any unpleasant interaction between the two of them up till now.
Julie’s tone indicated that she was not interested in what was happening and was not going to help her.
Shannon took a deep breath and tried her best to keep up a polite appearance, “I understand what you're saying, but I'm the wife of your brother and your sister-in-law. What do you suppose | should do if something indecent happens between the two of them? What happens to me then? What if outsiders find out that John is out having an affair with my sister of all people despite being married to me, what would people say? Surely this is something that concerns you Stockton‘s reputation as well?”
“Don't worry, | will make sure word doesn't get out.” Shannon was baffled by this, “So you mean to say that you would allow something like this to happen?” I
Julie sighed and said in an amiable voice, “Look, | understand how you're feeling, but you haven't been . married long to my brother at all so you might not understand what his temper can be like sometimes. What you need to understand is that he’s the one supporting our family, there‘s nothing that | or even my mother can say to make him change his mind.”
Shannon immediately recalled how she was turned away at Madam Stockton‘s door, she felt her body palpitating with shock.
Julie was perceptive and seemed to read Shannon‘s expression, “Did you go to my mother just now? You didn't get to see him, did you?”
Shannon chose silence.
Julie advised her, “Why don‘t you head back to your room first? My brother may have acted rashly but I'm sure he wouldn't do anything to Sherry.” Shannon clenched her fists. If what Julie said was true, then John would not have carried Sherry away with him in the first place! He would not have taken her back to where he once kept her and would not have instructed his bodyguards to forbid anyone from entering!
