Chapter 1431 Sherry’s hands hung by her side, unmoving. She kept silent while pursing her lips. Not long after, Julie smiled and said, “What’s wrong? Is it inconvenient to call your friend?”

The crowd suddenly burst into ridicule. “Heh... She must be full of nonsense. She doesn’t even know any friends of Young Master Sager’s.”

“Yes, there’s no need to ask. She must have stolen the invitation.” “She even dared to steal the invitation that Madam Stockton gave to Young Master Sager. She has a lot of guts.” Sherry clenched her fists and looked toward John.

Why was he making things hard for her now? Did he really want to send her to the police station?

“You damned man!” She could not stand it anymore and shouted, “Believe it or not, | borrowed this invitation !” John smiled and pursed his lips.

The large banquet hall was silent in an instant.

Julie and Madam Stockton were stunned.

John smiled wickedly at her. “I gave you a chance, but you didn’t cherish it.”

Sherry was speechless and furious. “What do you mean | didn’t cherish it? | told you that | borrowed the invitation. | didn’t steal it! Why won't you believe me?!”

John took a step closer to her and pushed the frame of his glasses up with one hand. His gaze turned colder. “I also want to believe you, but not a word of truth comes out of your mouth.”

Sherry gnashed her teeth with anger. “You should just say it straight if you’re angry at me and want to give me a hard time.”

John simply smiled.

Besides Madam Stockton and Julie, everyone else was

confused.

Why did their conversation sound like they knew each other?

However, the man’s cold voice interrupted their thoughts. He looked at Sherry and instructed the guards, “Take her to the police station.”

“Yes, Master Stockton.” The two guards dragged Sherry out. Sherry was no match for them as they lifted up her entire body. She could only glare at John with eyes red with resentment.

His slender figure elegantly stood in place. His lenses covered the dark look in his eyes, but Sherry saw him curl the corners of his lips. His expression seemed quite pleasant.

As she was being carried out, she heard a relative of the Stockton family ask him, “Do you know her, John?” He looked her straight in the eye and said, “No, | don’t.”

Chapter 1432 Astrong sourness rushed into her eyes, and tears almost instantly flowed out.

Seeing that she was about to be carried out of the banquet hall, Sherry opened her mouth. She wanted to scold him. She wanted to shout that she had given birth to Caprice. She wanted to let all the guests inside know that John, Madam Stockton, and Julie knew her.

However, something seemed to be stuck in her throat, making her unable to say a word.

Janine and Matthew were stunned to see her.

At the exit of the banquet hall behind Sherry, Madam Stockton and Julie, as well as the friends and family of the Stockton family had not dispersed. They all looked over when they heard Jake’s voice.

The Stockton and Fowler families had been connected by marriage before, so many people knew who Jake and Matthew were. Someone immediately asked, “President Williams, do you know this woman? Who is she?” Jake swept a cold and contemptuous gaze at Sherry, then

looked at Janine and Matthew. Janine was looking elsewhere as if she did not know Sherry. Matthew looked at Sherry and the two security guards who were holding her. His expression was not pleasant either.

The person he asked was a relative of the Stockton family and said, “She stole Young Master Sager’s invitation and snuck in. Not only did she not admit it but she even insulted Master Stockton.”

“What? How dare she steal an invitation?!” Janine

shrieked in surprise. Then, she pointed at Sherry and scolded angrily, “Sherry Fowler, it’s bad enough that you don’t respect your elders, but why can’t you change the bad habits you brought from the countryside? You even stole something from the Stocktons? You might not feel shame, but your father and | do!”

Janine and Matthew were both so angry that they looked away. It was as if they did not even want to acknowledge

her.

The two security guards held Sherry down by her shoulders. She arched her back miserably and looked at the ground. She did not even need to look up to guess what

expressions Jake, Janine, Matthew, and the others were wearing at the moment.

Her face was cold and pale, and her body trembled uncontrollably. She pursed her lips tightly and did not make a sound.

The silence lasted for only a moment before Jake said to Madam Stockton and Julie, “Madam Stockton and Ms. Weiss, my niece grew up in the countryside and wasn’t educated well. She grew up before being taken back to the Fowler family. She’s stubborn and disobedient, and she doesn’t go home, so her parents simply can’t control her. We didn’t know that she would steal an invitation to sneak in here tonight. We're really sorry about this.”

was thinking.

Jake and the others followed Julie’s gaze and looked at John. His expression was much more respectful.

Then, he secretly nudged Janine. He already said what he could. Although Sherry was hateful, she was their daughter, so they had to plead for her case as her parents.

Janine’s expression was cold and disgusted.

Shannon had acted on impulse and was imprisoned

because of Sherry, and now, Sherry had stolen an

invitation from the Stocktons and was even caught red- handed. She should have just died!

Janine got angrier the more she thought about it. She wanted to slap Sherry to death. However, she could not lose her temper with other people around her.

She secretly glared at Sherry and said, “I don’t have a thief as a daughter. As long as you can relieve your anger, you can deal with her however you want.”

The crowd instantly went silent.

Jake, Madam Stockton, and the other onlookers all froze.

They obviously did not expect Janine not to plead for Sherry at all. However, when they thought about how Sherry was just a hateful wild girl from the countryside, they felt at ease and looked on condescendingly.

Julie secretly curled her lips.

Only the man with a straight figure to the side wrinkled his brows. The look under his eyes tightened. He was still staring at Sherry, looking at her quiet and wretched figure.

At this moment, Sherry had her head down, parallel to the ground. Her two hands were bound, so she could not free them. She could only sneer while letting her tears drip to the ground.

Fortunately, there was a layer of dark carpet on the ground that absorbed her tears right as they fell on it. Behind her, a few meters away, John frowned tightly, then lifted his long legs and took a step forward. “John,” Julie suddenly called him.

After saying that, she shot a look at the two guards who immediately let Sherry go. Sherry turned her head and raised her eyes to look at them. Her slightly blurred vision swept past Janine and

Matthew's cold and disgusted faces, past Jake, Madam Stockton, and the others‘ contemptuous and disdainful expression, past Julie’s hypocritical smile, and soon saw John.

He stood almost three meters away from her.

Looking at his gentlemanly and elegant figure, Sherry puckered her lips and spat at his handsome face. “Bah!”

The next second, before anyone could react, she turned around and ran. She fled from the corridor in the blink of

an eye.

Then, they all trembled and looked at John.

Matthew, Janine, and Jake especially looked very flustered.

The man’s refined and handsome face clouded visibly. After a few seconds of silence, he smiled eerily and said, ” Catch her.” The two bodyguards quickly responded and chased after Sherry.

John took out a clean handkerchief from his pocket and wiped his face. His glasses were splattered with the spittle she had sprayed at him. He threw the handkerchief to the side, put his glasses back on, and walked toward the door.

Julie hurriedly followed him. Matthew, Janine, and Jake did not dare to remain stunned

anymore. They had been alienated by the Stockton family ever since Shannon’s incident. This time, if Sherry really offended John, it would be difficult for them to get a foothold in Glanchester in the future.

They also hurried out, thinking that they had to drag Sherry back and make her apologize to John!

Sherry ran out of the hotel gate in a single breath.

Just as she was about to give up, an arm suddenly appeared from behind her, hooked around her waist, and picked her up from the ground.

Sherry was stunned and quickly looked over. The night was silent, and the temperature was freezing cold.

After John, Matthew, and the others walked out, the two security guards approached them from the roadside.

Matthew asked angrily, “Where is she? Where did Sherry go?”

Janine then said, “Master Stockton, that wild girl is too cunning. Don’t worry. As long as she dares to go home, we'll send her to you immediately and make her

apologize to you.”

John pursed his lips and looked at them with a smile. “I'll be grateful if you would do that, Mr. and Mrs. Fowler.” Seeing him smile and how his tone did not seem to be angry, Matthew and Janine were instantly relieved. Matthew quickly said, “Yes, as long as she dares to go back, we'll send her to you even if we have to tie her up.” John said nothing and turned back to the hotel.

Julie, who followed him out, went in with him.

Matthew and Janine’s faces suddenly became angry again.

Janine cursed in fury, “That b*stard girl, why didn’t she just die two years ago?”

Matthew would have usually admonished her, but he was

also full of annoyance at this moment. “That wild thing didn’t get any better after disappearing for two years. She even learned to steal!” 1

In the night, a pastel pink car was speeding.

The car suddenly stopped at the side of the road.

Carl took off his sunglasses and narrowed his beautiful almond eyes with displeasure. “Sherry, | saved you out of the kindness of my heart, but what is that attitude? Would you believe me if | say I’d drop you back immediately?”

Sherry was in a bad mood and could not be bothered to bicker with him. She said bluntly, “If you send me back, I'll call your mom immediately.”

Carl's expression changed, and he suddenly smiled. ”

Sherry raised her brows. “Just drive and take me to the hospital.”

Her face was annoyed. “Carl Sager, do you want to die?” Carl threw a wink at her. “Yeah. Why don’t you beat me up?” Sherry pursed her lips. “Just you wait.”

Carl laughed and sped up the car again.

In a short while, the car stopped outside a hospital.

Sherry pushed open the door and got out of the car.

Carl suddenly arrived at her side and picked her up without a word.

Sherry frowned at him. “Put me down. | can walk by myself.”

Carl sighed. “Don’t put on a brave front now. | won’t laugh at you.”

Then, he took a big step inside.
