Chapter 1901
Heather got to Liam and used him to threaten her father to cancel the contract with Rockon Technology but she got scolded by her father because of it.
Until now, her father had not forgiven her.
Now that the idiot appeared right in front of her crosshair, it would be a great opportunity for her to vent her grievance. With that in mind, Heather narrowed her eyes, and smiled elegantly before she headed into the hall.
The hall was filled with guests.
Brand ambassadors were promoting jewelries that they endorsed.
Caprice did not want to be drowned by the crowd, so she and Trey grabbed their glasses and headed over to the display cases to view the jewelries.
Each jewelry was designed uniquely and was nothing short of extravagant.
However, they did not win Caprice’s heart because she had seen better designs back home. “Caprice, long time no see.”
Suddenly, a familiar voice came from behind.
Caprice turned around and saw Heather smiling at her.
She could not return the fake smile with one of her own, so she simply wore a cold expression on her face.
Trey stood in front of Caprice and sized up Heather. “Piss off, or don’t blame me for being rude.” Trey told Caprice how VV Entertainment set him up two days ago and he learned that Heather was also hostile against Caprice, hence his resentment for the woman.
Heather’s expression froze. She looked at the man with a strange expression. “Who are you?” “I'm your father!”
Coincidentally, there was a group of elegantly-dressed women passing by and they heard Trey’s rude words. They paused and looked at him with contempt.
“Who's this person? Where are his manners?”
“Yeah. Does he know what kind of place this is?”
Heather lifted her chin and grinned scornfully.
Trey’s expression turned bitter.
Caprice immediately held him back and said, “Trey, don’t fall for it. She’s cunning.”
Heather asked who he was on purpose to make him mad.
The place was crowded with people of status. Other than celebrities, there were influential figures.
If Trey fell for her provocation and lashed out at her, he would be viewed as a joke and thrown out of the hall.
Then, not only Rockon Entertainment’s reputation would be affected, but he and his family would also be the target of criticism. Caprice dragged Trey behind her and then wore a smile at Heather.
“Heather, you should know better than anyone who he is.”
Heather looked confused. “Caprice, why do you say so?”
She had not met Trey officially before this. Even if Caprice suspected Heather was the one behind. the contract between VV Entertainment and Rockon Technology, she had no evidence.
Caprice maintained a smile on her face and asked, “You don’t know about the contract between VV Entertainment and Rockon Technology?”
Heather’s eyes flickered. The baffled look on her face remained. “What contract?” “Heather, are you growing old? You've forgotten about it already?” Heather reacted bitterly.
Before she could say a word, Caprice walked up to her and said, “Have you forgotten? Two weeks ago, you bumped into two of my friends at Emerald V. After they left, you knew from the manager that one of the girls is related to Rockon Technology. You called your father and asked him to deal with Rockon Technology.”
Heather’s expression turned grim. She instinctively took a few steps back and maintained the awkward smile on her face. “Caprice, what are you talking about? | haven’t even heard of this Rockon Technology. Why would | ask my father to deal with them?”

Caprice clicked her tongue. She turned around to Trey and said, “Let’s go, Trey.”
Trey had a glance at Heather’s bitter look and smirked. He chuckled and said, “Let’s go.” Caprice and Trey left, not sparing another glance at Heather.
Even though neither Caprice nor Trey mocked her verbally, Heather almost lashed out at the two of them when she heard Caprice’s click of the tongue.
How bold of the idiot to click her tongue at her?
How would the idiot know about her calling her father at Emerald V that day?
Who told her?
Heather's eyes flickered, and her expression remained grim and bitter for quite a while.
As she was trying to adjust her emotions, a commotion happened at the entrance of the hall.
The young lasses and wealthy ladies, who were infatuated with the popular male celebrities, were outside. instantly captured by the commotion outside and started to make their way
Someone asked, “Who's that guy? I’ve never seen him before.”
The staff answered, “He’s not a celebrity. He’s the owner of Carter Tech District.”
The answer silenced the crowd instantly.
Then, all the guests, including the young lasses, the influential figures and even the popular celebrities made their way to the entrance of the hall.
Carter Tech District was well-known across the globe but the owner of the place had been a mysterious figure. No one knew who he or she was, and if the guests could catch a glimpse of the owner, it would be worthwhile.
Heather heard the discussion as well. Her expression changed multiple times as she tried to calm herself down and made her way to the entrance.
Alarge group of people gathered at the entrance, causing a rather sizable commotion.
Both Caprice and Trey noticed it as well.
Trey asked one of the staff, “What's going on there?”
The staff answered, “I heard the owner of Carter Tech District is here.”
Caprice widened her eyes.
Liam then asked her, “Do you want to go have a look?”
Caprice looked at the entrance.
All she could see were people pushing each other around. She even spotted Heather among the crowd. She was moving along with the flow to get to him, the owner of Carter Tech District.
Disheartened, Caprice said, “Nope.”
His girlfriend went over, so why would she go see him after teasing his girlfriend in person moments ago? “Fine,” Trey said with pursed lips. He accompanied her into the hall.
The huge hall had many extravagant items on display. Caprice got lost after a few rounds in the place.
After a while, when the crowd at the entrance had scattered and entered the hall, she and Trey
reached the inner part of the hall.
They heard some young lasses talking beside them.
“Who would have thought the owner of Carter Tech District is so young and handsome? He's like Prince Charming!” “Yeah. Why is he here? Is he invited?”
“The organizers invited a lot of people, but how many truly powerful figures attended?” “Then what is he doing here?”
Caprice scoffed. She muttered softly. “He’s probably here for Heather.”
She did not want to listen to their conversation, so she went ahead with Trey.
Then, a shining reflection caught her eyes.
She stopped and looked at the display case next to her.
Inside the display case was a pair of diamond ear studs.
The diamonds were polished meticulously.

The diamond ear studs were designed to resemble a sunflower. Each petal was delicately crafted.
Caprice’s eyes gleamed brightly.
“Caprice, you like this?” Trey asked. He was beside her the whole time and it caught his attention when Caprice stopped to look at the ear studs.
The staff beside the display case smiled and explained to Caprice, “Madam, this pair of ear studs are designed by our chief designer, Master Sese, and there’s only one pair in the whole world. It’s also one of our main highlights for the night.”
Caprice glanced at the price tag under the ear studs.
One hundred eighty million, as expected of the highlight of the night.
Caprice then looked at Trey.
The man was smiling at her and the expression on his face spelled generosity as if he would buy it for her if she would just ask. The simple man must have not seen the price tag on the ear studs.
Trey came from a decent background but was not filthy rich to the point that he could simply spend a hundred million without restraints. If his parents knew he spent a hundred million on someone, they would beat him to death.
Caprice pressed her lips into a slightly awkward smile. “Let’s have a look at others-”
Before Caprice could finish, Heather stepped in.
She was accompanied by a few other similarly dressed women, seemingly new ‘friends’ that she made at
the event.
The women overheard Caprice and scoffed at her en masse.
One of the women said, “This pair of ear studs are the highlight of the event, it’s over a hundred million. | bet she can’t afford it.” Caprice frowned.
Trey was startled when he heard about the price but his anger suppressed his surprise. He argued coldly.” It’s just a hundred million.”
One of the women said, “If it’s just a hundred million, buy it, don’t just say it.”
Trey felt challenged. He wanted to pull his card out of his wallet, but Caprice stopped him.
“Calm down. Don’t fall for it. They are doing this on purpose. I’m not particularly fond of this pair of ear studs as well.” Another woman scoffed and said, “Hmph. If you can’t afford it, just say it. Skip the nonsense.”
Trey’s expression turned grim.
Caprice tried to tug his arm as hard as she could to stop him from being reckless.
Before she could say something, Heather said, “Stop it, you guys. Young Master Rockon here is the heir to Rockon Technology. Of course he can afford a pair of ear studs.”
The other women toned down a little when they heard Heather.
Heather then looked at Caprice. “Caprice, are you two just friends?”
“What about it?” Caprice asked cautiously.
Heather said, “If | see something | like that’s expensive, | won't let my friend buy it for me. Why don’t you buy it yourself, so that Young Master Rockon here won't have to embarrass himself?”
Caprice was surprised by Heather’s words.
Why would Heather want her to buy the ear studs herself?
Was it to mock her for being poor, or was it something else?
Trey did not understand it either.
Looking at Caprice and Trey’s baffled expressions, Heather scoffed.
She assumed Caprice was at a loss of action, hence the blank and baffled expression; the others shared the similar assumption.
They were all wealthy women who had been to many social events and they had seen many women pretending to be rich but were not. They all showed the same expression as Caprice when they were asked to buy something expensive.
One of the women got carried away and asked with a teasing smirk, “What’s wrong, little girl? Don’t have the money?” Caprice and Trey were both left speechless.
It was Caprice’s first time where someone asked her if she could afford something.
Trey did not expect that the only daughter of the richest man of Glenchester would be assumed poor.
Chapter 1904
While Caprice was surrounded by Heather and her friends who were trying to embarrass her, a cold and deep voice sounded behind them.
“Pack it.”
Caprice looked beyond Heather, and Heather and her friends turned around.
Liam, in his handsome suit, stood before them with the spotlight highlighting his figure. His deep gaze looked captivating. Caprice was surprised.
Heather's eyes flickered as she immediately stepped aside. Her friends followed her to the side as well.
They wanted to look at Liam but were not bold enough to look him in the eye.
The staff beside the display case came up to Liam and asked, “Master Carter, are you referring to the sunflower ear studs?” Liam looked at Caprice and hummed a reply. He then pulled a black card out of his pocket and gave it to the staff. Confused, Caprice furrowed her brows.
Why would Liam buy the sunflower ear studs? A present for Heather?
Caprice looked at Heather.
Heather looked at Liam with eyes full of anticipation. However, for some reason, she did not approach Liam and instead stood quite far away from him.

Why was he looking at her? Could it be that he bought the ear studs for her?

Caprice was dumbfounded.
Heather and her friends were drowned in jealousy.
Trey was stunned.
The staff and some passersby were also shocked by the scene.
Aman hanging a bag of expensive earrings on a woman's wrist was nothing special unless the man was the owner of Carter Tech District and the woman was someone they did not know.
However, all the guests who attended the event were decently wealthy.
The woman must have had a strong background as well, and she looked pretty. She looked small in front of the man’s powerful aura but they would make a good-looking couple.
Did the man attend the event for the woman?
Caprice regained her composure. She neglected the curious gazes on her and curled her lips into a sweet smile at Liam. She said politely, “Thank you, Liam.”
Liam did not reply. He had one more glance at Trey behind her and then left without saying anything. Caprice was once again stunned.
Why did he leave without saying a word?

Caprice then looked at Heather, Heather at Caprice.
When the two of them locked eyes, Heather reacted like she saw her arch nemesis.
She glared at Caprice fiercely before walking away with her friends, seemingly going after Liam. Caprice frowned. She had no idea what happened.
Had Liam gotten into an argument with Heather?
If so, how was she involved? Why did Liam buy her the ear studs?
Caprice looked at the bag hanging on her wrist.
The jewelry box inside the bag had a pair of sunflower ear studs.
Her eyes flickered in confusion before she shrugged nonchalantly.
Argument or not, she was the bigger winner.
Then, Trey walked up to her and asked, “Caprice, are they really dating?”
Caprice pondered for a moment before a thought flashed in her mind.

If they were not dating, then why would Heather always give her trouble and exert dominance?
Two years ago, Liam was still okay with Caprice being clingy but when she grew up into an adult, Liam would push her away whenever she wanted a hug.
It was obvious that he wanted to stay away from her because he already had a girlfriend. “Maybe,” she said.
Trey frowned. “Why do | feel... Whatever. It’s none of my business.”
He gave up too as he too could not figure out the answer.
The event hall had two floors.
The main lobby was for the display and stage and the second floor was a parlor for guests to rest and have something to eat. It also provided a bird’s eye view over the floor.
After Liam separated from Caprice, he went up to the second floor and sat down on a couch by the railing. As soon as he sat down, Heather arrived next to him. Nervous, she explained, “Liam, | was just joking with Caprice just now. Please don’t take it seriously.”
She was already fired because she pranked Caprice using the ticket machine at Carter Tech District a while back, and she did not want to leave any more bad impression on him. She was also afraid that he would punish her.
Liam grabbed his glass of wine and had a sip. He turned a deaf ear at the woman’s words, or rather a blind eye at the woman’s existence.
His expression was as cold as ice and the deep gaze in his eyes showed no emotions.
He ignored her completely.
Heather waited for a reply but did not get one. Her face turned pale and fear started to eat her up inside. She stammered, “Liam, Thao”
Liam then said, “No more next time. Don’t let me see you again.”
Heather was shocked by the answer but she could not do anything. She gritted her teeth and said, “I understand.” She reluctantly turned away and left.
Liam looked through the glass and peered down at the floor of the main lobby.
The place was crowded with people and extravagant jewelry.
He scanned the place for a while and finally located Caprice in a corner.
There was only a small couch, a tea table, and some decorations in that corner. There was no one else in
her company.
Liam was slightly surprised because Trey was not by her side.
Why was Caprice hiding in the corner?
He squinted to look better and he saw Caprice take the pair of ear studs out from the jewelry box.
She took her own studs off and replaced them with the sunflower ear studs.
