Ch. 2021..2030

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2021-“You had a fever,” Alexander said, “and started throwing up blood. Don’t you remember?”

Anastasia nodded. “I do. I just never thought my cold would become so severe.”

“Listen. What you’re experiencing might not be a regular cold or fever,” Alexander said gravely.

Puzzled, Anastasia looked up at him. She noticed what he was wearing and her surroundings and subconsciously raised her hands, murmuring, “Is it some kind of a contagious disease?”

‘If not, why would he wear a hazmat suit?’

She could not help but think so since the pandemic in Burnwken had just ended.

“Yes and no.” Alexander’s answer sounded contradictory.

“Yes and no?” Anastasia was puzzled.

‘It’s either yes or no. What is Alex talking about?’

“Simply put, I can’t say for sure because I don’t know what type of virus it is.” Alexander sighed because he did not know the answer either.

Everything happened so fast and abruptly that Alexander and the rest hardly knew how to deal with it. In addition, more and more situations cropped up since the pandemic in Burnwken.

Although these incidents were not too severe, they happened so frequently that everyone was overwhelmed. Worse, they knew little about these viruses and needed to contain their spread to prevent widespread panic.

“Virus?” Anastasia was somewhat scared when she heard that word.

She wanted to sit up but realized she did not have the strength and could only give up. “Then…will I die soon?”

“No!” Alexander answered.

Anastasia smiled weakly and shook her head. “You don’t have to lie to me, Alex. I know my body. I have no strength left in me now. If my condition isn’t severe and I’m not dying, why would I need to be here, and why did you tell me that? You can be honest. I can take it.”

Before Alexander could say anything, she added, “I just feel bad that I haven’t received any news about my father. Have the police found out anything?”

“Don’t overthink, okay?” Alexander tried to calm her down and took a step forward. “It’s not as bad as you imagined. Although we’ve yet to find out what type of poison it is, it’s not deadly based on what we know.”

“Really?” Anastasia threw him a skeptical look, thinking he was just trying to console her.

Alexander nodded thoughtfully. Then he said apologetically, “Anyway, I should apologize to you because I might be the one who spread it to you.”

Anastasia was confused. “You? Are you infected with the virus too? But how come you look like you’re fine? Have you recovered?”

“It’s a long story. I might be the carrier, but I haven’t shown any symptoms,” Alexander briefly explained, knowing it would take him a long time to make her understand.

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2022-"Hmm..." Anastasia was getting more confused as she listened.

‘Something seems off. Carriers don’t get infected?’

"I can't explain it clearly to you now, and honestly, I haven't figured it out myself." Alexander shook his head apologetically. "But I want to tell you I'm not just trying to comfort you. You won't die. You need to rest and care for yourself for these next two days and..."

He looked around and continued, “You can’t wander. You must stay here, understand?”

Anastasia nodded obediently and understood the reason behind his words. “I understand. I won’t go anywhere since transmitting the virus is possible.”

Immediately after saying that, she realized something and added, “But I’ve come in contact with a few people in the past two days. Will that be a problem?”

Alexander had already considered that possibility and pondered over it. However, no one could be that confident.

"For that, we'll have to see how things develop. Nobody can say for certain. I just hope it won't be highly contagious." He had done everything he could think of and whatever was within his control. Anything beyond that was out of his hands.

"By the way, you don't have to worry about your father. I found him," he decided to tell Anastasia about this matter to put her at ease. However, he could not disclose too many details.

"He's safe for now but can't come back yet."

Anastasia did not even have a chance to feel relieved and became puzzled. "Really? Where’s my father now? Why can't he come back? What is he doing?"

Facing her questioning, Alexander had already prepared his answer. "Tasia, you're not a child anymore, and you know the nature of your father's work. There are things he does that we can't disclose. You should be aware of that.

"As for where he is, he's still in Kingsland. Rest assured, he's safe. His not coming back is his decision. He has his arrangements, and you should trust him, right?"

His words had the power to soothe her, coupled with Anastasia's trust in him. Alexander reminded her of her father, who would often be gone for many days without revealing his whereabouts or what he was doing.

Sometimes, Cameron would return with a few injuries, only saying he had work and missions. Initially, Anastasi did not understand it and would ask questions, but she got used to it over time and stopped asking. Instead, she silently worried about him.

This time, perhaps due to the many events happening and the strange occurrences, she could not help but become even more concerned.

"I trust you," Anastasia said.,"I won't ask as long as my father is safe. Oh, what about the police?"

"I’ll inform them. You don't need to worry."

Alexander had already dealt with the police and discovered that Cameron had made arrangements with them long ago.

It was easy to imagine that if someone of Cameron’s status suddenly disappeared, it would raise suspicions, and they had to wait until Anastasia reported it to the police.

The reason for not revealing it to the police and continually assisting in the search was merely a diversion, a way to enhance credibility and make Rhea believe she was in control of everything.

Cameron’s significant sacrifice and grand scheme depended on whether that cunning and mysterious organization would take the bait.

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2023-Night quietly descended and enveloped the entire place in darkness. Since the incident, Austin turned off the lights to let everyone rest better. After all, there were not many people working at night.

However, the room in the backyard was bright and full of warmth. Since the afternoon, Austin had been heating a large bucket of water and pouring in the herbal concoction he had previously prepared.

He had carefully selected the herbs and meticulously brewed them over a long period. He patiently did all the preparations. He felt exhausted after finishing, but it did not matter compared to what he was about to do.

He took out a set of prepared acupuncture tools and stood behind Dominic, observing the older man soaking in the oversized bathtub, revealing his entire back.

Dominic sat in the tub, his eyes closed. He was semi-sleeping, not completely alert but aware of everything happening around him.

His breathing was slightly rapid, possibly due to the hot water. His face had a reddish tint from soaking for too long or the high temperature. His skin had relaxed, and his wrinkles seemed to have diminished.

"Uncle Dom, I'm going to start now." Austin took a deep breath and held a silver needle.

Dominic nodded slightly without speaking; the only sound was from the bubbling water in the tub.

Next to the set of silver needles was a bowl filled with dark herbal concoction, also prepared in advance. Austin first soaked the silver needle in the concoction and then inserted it into the specific acupoints on the older man's back.

Austin slowly rotated the needle, but there was no change in Dominic's expression. It was as if the latter felt nothing.

Austin paused after inserting the first needle to observe his granduncle’s reaction. Once Austin was sure there were no issues, he proceeded to the second needle. Then the third, the fourth, and so on.

Dominic's face became less calm with each additional needle. His face twitched slightly, and he could not suppress the faint groans from his lips.

"Uncle Dom, should I keep going?" Austin leaned over and paused, concerned.

Although both felt somewhat confident, Dominic's age still required them to be mindful of his tolerance.

Dominic gritted his teeth and said, “Keep going!”

Seeing his condition, Austin hesitated. Beads of sweat dripped down Dominic's cheeks, and the veins on his forehead bulged. It was evident he was enduring immense pain.

‘Damn this virus!’

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2024-Austin took a deep breath to muster his courage and continue needling Dominic. The former hoped to eliminate the virus in Dominic’s body and allow him to recover. Austin did not want his granduncle to suffer anymore.

Only three needles remained, and Austin hesitated because the last three needles were the most painful yet critical to the treatment.

"Uncle Dom..." Austin squatted, picked up a towel from the side, and wiped the sweat off the older man's forehead. Austin looked at the sweat on Dominic’s body mixed with the water in the tub and could not tell which was which.

The older man's arms rested on the tub’s sides, his fingers tightly clenched. The veins on his arms bulged, showing he was enduring great torment.

"Uncle Dom?" There was no response, so Austin nervously called out again.

"Keep going!" Dominic spoke through gritted teeth, his voice sounding hoarse. Still, he persisted.

Austin's eyes welled as he controlled his emotions and said, "Uncle Dom, the next three needles will be more painful. You must hold on!"

"Heh heh..." Dominic smiled faintly and seemed to want to say something, but his lips moved without uttering words.

His physical strength had reached its limit. As a seasoned physician, Dominic knew how painful each acupoint was and what consequences would follow when Austin inserted the next needle.

However, they had already come this far and could not stop now. They had to continue.

"Let's do it!" Dominic took a deep breath and said those two words. His expression remained calm and composed as he closed his eyes. He persisted, even though he never stopped sweating, and his arms and neck were veiny.

Austin knew he could not stop now, even if he were reluctant.

Austin recalled the scene Alexander had witnessed a few days ago as he watched the occasional protrusions on Dominic’s arms.

‘The symbiotes’ movement resembled worms, which explains why we initially thought it was a case of symbiote poisoning. Even if symbiote poisoning is real, it’ll only target its host and not be contagious.

‘If it’s that easily transmitted, symbiote witchcraft practitioners would have long controlled the world. Therefore, it’s not a symbiote but a virus with similar traits. We’ve been misled. Even Uncle Dom believed it was a symbiote, which led us on a detour.

‘Hopefully, there’s still time to set things right!’

Austin turned, took a deep breath, and picked up the silver needle to continue the procedure.

Dominic’s spine visibly straightened, and his body trembled as the needle went in. He clenched his teeth, trying not to make too much noise. Still, groans of pain escaped his mouth.

"Uncle Dom!" Austin nervously called out while checking the older man’s condition. After a moment's thought, he no longer hesitated. He picked up the last two needles and quickly inserted them into the remaining acupoints.

‘Better to endure short-term pain than prolonged suffering! These last three needles are the most painful, so it’s best to do it all at once and end the procedure instead of prolonging it.’

When Austin inserted the last two needles, Dominic could no longer suppress his pain and shouted, “Ah! That hurt. It f*cking hurts!”

"Uncle Dom! It'll be over soon!" Austin held Dominic's shoulders with both hands, preventing him from accidentally shaking off the silver needles due to uncontrollable tremors.

They had reached the final step and would succeed if Dominic persisted.

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2025-Dominic roared, and the water seemed to boil while bubbling and gurgling.

Austin pressed on the older man’s shoulders to try and control the latter’s movements. Soon after, Austin was surprised to see a drastic change in Dominic’s arms.

Initially, something resembling worms wriggled as if trying to break through the skin but could not find an exit. Austin watched as the skin on his granduncle’s arms bulged and then returned to normal repeatedly.

If an ordinary person witnessed it, they would undoubtedly be frightened. Then the worm-like things continued to move around until they reached the silver needles’ locations. It was as if they had suddenly found an exit.

The area around the silver needles pulsed twice, and black blood flowed through. It looked horrifying.

Dominic’s back was already full of needles, and now blood continuously flowed out along those needles.

Only a few drops appeared initially, but all the silver needles gradually oozed blood. It was as if the virus had finally found an exit and were squeezing out wildly, jostling each other to be the first.

The black blood flowed into the bathtub, mixing with the medicinal water inside and quickly permeating it.

The water in the bathtub gradually changed color, becoming pitch black and horrifying. Along with this change, Dominic's body underwent a significant transformation.

His cries of pain gradually diminished and eventually stopped. He no longer struggled desperately, as if he had drained all his strength at once. Immediately after, he slid down uncontrollably without any energy to support himself.

Austin noticed his granduncle’s body sliding into the bathtub and quickly changed his grip, switching from restraining Dominic from above to supporting him from below. Austin caught the older man’s drooping body and felt its weight.

Still, Dominic’s complexion was improving. His previously dull, gloomy, and sullen expression significantly improved. Although his face was still pale, a hint of color returned. Even his lips regained their typical hue.

Austin was ecstatic. He suppressed his urge to cheer and spoke softly, “Uncle Dom, it’s working. It’s really working.”

Dominic could not muster the strength to respond verbally. Instead, he weakly waved one hand to acknowledge his grandnephew.

Austin knew Dominic’s body was still fragile. After all, enduring such an ordeal was not easy. He wanted to check the older man's pulse, but his current position was inconvenient, so he patiently waited.

After a while, Austin’s legs started to feel numb. He looked down and noticed the blood flow from the silver needles had stopped and dried up. The exposed blood on the ground had solidified except for the portion submerged in the bathtub water.

"Uncle Dom, let me carry you out!"

Although the older man was thin, he was still quite heavy. It took Austin much effort, and he got wet in the process.

After lifting Dominic from the bathtub, Austin lay on the ground and panted heavily. His clothes were stained with the blood water from the bathtub, making him look dirty and frightening.

Still, he was elated. He looked up and laughed heartily.

‘I did it! We finally succeeded! Uncle Dom must be fine now!’

Although Austin had yet to check his granduncle’s pulse, he could sense he must have healed the older man’s body. It brought great relief to Austin. His hefty guilt and self-blame had finally dissipated to some extent.

After laughing momentarily, he propped himself up and turned to carry his granduncle. Perhaps because Austin felt successful and had the power of belief, he effortlessly lifted Dominic and walked into the adjacent room, where a prepared bed awaited the older man.

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2026-Austin put Dominic down and carefully removed the silver needles. This step was much simpler and less painful than inserting the needles earlier. After removing the needles, Austin sterilized them, turned the older man over, and covered him with a clean blanket.

Dominic's eyes remained tightly closed. He did not move and seemed asleep as Austin cleaned him up and covered him.

Austin sighed as he watched Dominic’s peaceful face with closed eyes. Then the former sat beside Dominic and held one of his hands. Austin quieted his mind and took his granduncle’s pulse.

Austin already had the answer but wanted to confirm it by feeling Dominic’s pulse. Although the older man’s pulse was slightly faster, it was much calmer than before.

Austin’s fingers moved lightly. Judging from Dominic’s pulse, it seemed his organs were relieved. Something heavy seemed to press on them before, but everything felt light now. At that point, Austin knew he had undoubtedly succeeded.

He gently covered his granduncle again and finally revealed a joyful smile. Austin got up to tidy the place and let the older man rest.

‘I still have a big mess to clean up next door, and I’ll likely be swamped in the coming days.’

Lily stood before the wall clock and stared at the time without moving. It had been two days since they drew her blood.

The test results should have been out, but these people remained unhurried. They continued bringing her food and drinks as usual, but the experiments seemed to have become more frequent.

Lily wondered if it was related to the commotion she had caused that day or if they had their own plans.

‘R10 has already been handed over, but they probably haven’t used it yet. Only one step remains, and it involves me.’

She could guess the approximate outcome but did not know the mastermind behind everything. She gently caressed her belly as the due date was approaching. The twins inside were unusually calm, showing no signs of restlessness. They seemed to be able to hold their breath.

‘They resemble their father in this aspect. Thinking of it now, Alex can also endure a lot.’

Lily did not know how her husband was doing these past few days. She could not contact him and had no news except… Suddenly, the door made a sound and opened from the outside. The same doctor and nurse as before appeared.

The doctor was less fearful of Lily and appeared more natural, perhaps due to their recent interactions. He said, “Ms. Christian, we’re here for your examination.”

"You're certainly dedicated," Lily said mockingly.

Although the doctor and nurse were merely following orders, Lily could not reach the people behind the scenes and could only vent her frustrations to them.

The doctor did not react to her words. Instead, he expressionlessly took out his equipment and then looked at her. "Ms. Christian, we’ll conduct a prenatal examination today, so we must go to the bedroom."

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2027-"The bedroom?" Lily looked at the doctor warily.

The doctor stood there with a cold expression. "Please rest assured. We’re professionals. The two nurses will also be present. If you're concerned, we can examine you here, but..."

He glanced toward the ceiling, indicating there were surveillance cameras, which would further compromise privacy.

"I don’t mind," Lily said, her voice laced with sarcasm, "I don't need you to do any prenatal check-ups for me. Let your boss come and see me."

"I'm sorry, I can't do that." The doctor shrugged. "Please cooperate."

"What if I refuse?" Lily sneered. "Can you force me to do anything with your skills?"

The doctor shook his head and said, "I can't, but Ms. Christian, don't forget, it's not just me here. You can rest assured it's just a routine gynecological examination and nothing that will make you uncomfortable."

He glanced toward the door as he spoke.

The door was not completely closed, and Lily could see the guards standing outside. Although they had not entered and did not seem to be looking inside the room, Lily knew they were on high alert.

They would rush out if she made sudden moves, and she had no idea how many weapons they had.

‘I can’t die, at least not now.’

After some thought, Lily looked at the doctor deeply, then turned and walked toward the bedroom. "Since you're not afraid, why should I be? Come in!"

She entered the bedroom with her protruding belly, and soon the doctor and nurses followed suit. They closed the door, and the doctor said, "Please lie on the bed."

Lily stood still, looked at him, and then at the two expressionless puppet-like nurses. Then she turned and lay down on the bed. She rested one hand on her belly while the other naturally hung by her side. The fingers on her hanging hand twisted lightly, ready to retaliate at any moment.

The doctor calmly placed the medical kit on the nearby table and instructed the two nurses to prepare. The doctor bent down, and Lily’s fingers unexpectedly curled up, but he did not react. Instead, he looked into her eyes and said, “Ms. Christian, relax. Although injections might be painful, they’re not as bitter as medicine."

Lily was stunned, her eyes showing surprise as she looked at him.

However, the doctor did not act like he had just said something extraordinary. It was as if he was merely comforting her. Then he turned to the nurses and said, "Bring it over."

One nurse quickly handed over a syringe filled with medicine.

Lily’s pupils sharply contracted when she saw the syringe. “What’s that? I thought this was just an examination. Why do I need an injection?”

"This is a nutrient injection for you. Since you've been here recently, we're afraid you might not be accustomed to the food and may not be getting enough nutrition," the doctor explained, "Just relax."

Although the doctor told her so, she could not oblige. "I don't need it!"

“As I said, Ms. Christian, although injections might be painful, they’re not as bitter as medicine. Just endure it for now, and things will get better.”

The doctor held Lily’s arm with one hand and continued, “You should know you can’t leave this place, so it’s best if you cooperate.”

Lily's palm twitched, and her fingers loosened after the doctor gave her a deep look. Then the doctor quietly inserted the needle into her arm.

As Lily watched the medicine slowly enter her arm, her eyes grew increasingly heavier until they closed.

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2028-The room was silent, as if no one was there.

When the doctor entered the elevator, someone blindfolded him with a black cloth. He followed the person and walked from the elevator to the corridor, turning corners and seemingly passing through a hall. Finally, they arrived at a room.

They stood for two minutes at the door before someone removed the blindfold and led him inside. The room was large and empty. Fred was sitting on a leather sofa near the window with a smile.

Fred gently caressed a black ring with one hand resting on the armrest. His finger softly touched a dark blue gemstone, handling it with extreme care.

"How was it?" He spoke fluent English.

"I’ve administered the medication to her, as you instructed," The doctor answered in English and nodded.

"What medication?" Fred asked as if unaware.

The doctor shook his head. "I don't know."

"Why did you inject her with it?" Fred inquired further.

Still, the doctor shook his head. "I don't know."

"Very good!" Fred smiled, looking pleased. "Not knowing is for the best! Understand?"

"Understood." The doctor nodded quickly this time.

Fred glanced at him with satisfaction. "Did she put up a fight?"

"She seemed resistant, but there was no actual action. Maybe she knew her resistance would be futile," the doctor honestly replied after some thought.

"Good to know. However..." Fred paused, not saying more.

He could not believe anyone could quickly subdue Lily. He would not have had to invest so much effort if she were that easy to handle. Nevertheless, everything was worth it.

‘It’ll be quick! Very soon, we will achieve the results we desire.’

"Leave! You've done well! You deserve the appropriate reward." Fred waved, acknowledging the doctor.

"Thank you, Your Excellency." The doctor bowed respectfully.

As he took two steps back, he heard a warning, "Remember, your eyes are only for seeing patients. Don't look where you shouldn't. Your ears are for hearing medical conditions. Anything else..."

"I won't listen," the doctor promptly responded.

His answer pleased Fred, who chuckled and said no more.

The doctor returned to the doorway, once again blindfolded with the black cloth. Then someone led him away from the room.

The doctor had been to this place thrice but still had no idea where it was. Everything was sudden and forced upon him. He only knew that not obeying their orders would lead to a terrible fate.

‘Listen and obey, and there will be generous rewards.’

When that person approached, the doctor realized he was in this inexplicable situation. The latter gently touched his cufflink, where a small hidden note was. It was a note Lily had given him.

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2029-Lily remained motionless in the room and slowly opened her eyes after some time. Then she placed one hand on the other and examined her pulse. She sighed in relief when she found her pulse remained unchanged.

Although the secret code matched, the doctor's words and the information he had conveyed did not arouse suspicion. Still, Lily needed to double-check for caution’s sake. After all, she could not let her guard down since she was in a special place.

Even Mike, such a familiar friend, could deceive and hide things for his son’s sake, not to mention these unfamiliar strangers Lily faced now.

She got up and entered the bathroom, slowly twisting a thin piece of paper from the ring. She unfolded it and found the familiar handwriting: "I’ve found the stronghold. Wait for me!"

Although just a few simple words, Lily understood what they meant. It seemed Alexander had already found the organization’s stronghold and was preparing to rescue her. However, saving her was not a simple matter.

Alexander also needed to consider the unknown, potential viruses that might exist and spread besides rescuing Lily.

The couple knew eradicating the organization might not be the most difficult part from the beginning. The real challenge was eliminating the organization while preserving all the viruses without destruction or transmission.

Lily crumpled the note into a ball and was about to throw it into the toilet when she hesitated. Then, with a few quick hand movements, she tore the note into tiny pieces and flushed them all down the toilet.

She even flushed it several more times before turning on the tap and showering.

Lily closed her eyes and recalled the dangerous situation from earlier. It was too exhilarating as the two nurses were around, and the doctor exchanged items with her right in front of them to pass the secret code.

The doctor said, “Although injections might be painful, they’re not as bitter as medicine,” which was an inside joke Lily had shared with Alexander once before.

When she fell ill and needed an injection, Alexander suggested avoiding it and taking medicine instead, but she complained about the medicine’s bitterness. Being a student of traditional medicine, she found both traditional and modern medicine bitter and refused to take them.

Later, Alexander teased her, saying she was not afraid of pains from injections but feared the bitterness of medicine. Lily retorted, saying, “Although injections might be painful, they’re not as bitter as medicine.”

It was a joke only the couple shared, something no one else could know. Still, the doctor accurately repeated it, emphasizing it twice. Immediately after, Lily realized Alexander had most likely sent him.

Coupled with the fact that the liquid in the syringe was indeed a nutrient solution and not something else, it made sense why the doctor brought Lily into the bedroom for examination. It was to avoid prying eyes.

Lily felt much calmer after showering and stepping out of the bathroom. Previously, she could not establish contact with the outside world. She inevitably felt restless, anxious, and concerned about how Alexander was doing.

Now that she could receive messages and Alexander had responded positively, she knew everything was still under control.

Lily could finally calm down. After all, restlessness and anxiety were the quickest ways to make mistakes. Perhaps Alexander and the others were waiting for her to calm down.

Later that night, the doctor returned home.

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2030-The spacious house was empty, with no lights on. The doctor threw his briefcase aside and sat heavily on the sofa, covering his face in despair. Suddenly, he felt something and quickly moved aside, looking around in fear. "Who's there?!"

"Doctor, don't be nervous." A man's voice came from the darkness, and then the lights in the room turned on. "Why didn't you turn on the lights when you came home?"

"I... " The doctor stood up excitedly when he saw the figure. "I’ve done as you requested. When will you release my family?"

"We didn't capture your family. You must understand that. We helped you rescue them." The person corrected the doctor’s statement, indicating he was not the kidnapper.

The doctor nodded repeatedly. "I know, I know! So when can they come back? When can I see them?"

"Do you think now is a good time to let them come home?" Edward walked out of the darkness without minding that he had exposed his face. "Do you think they can live peacefully once they return home? Will the people who found you capture them again?"

This questioning made the doctor fall silent. After two seconds of silence, he covered his face and burst into tears. On the floor was a grown man, crying as he squatted.

"I'm just an ordinary doctor. Why did you come looking for me? Who are you guys? Who are they?" His shoulders trembled as he continued, "I don't know anything. I don't know anything!"

"No, you are not an ordinary doctor. You are skilled in gynecology and proficient in neurology and transplant surgery. You’re a remarkable doctor. Otherwise, they wouldn't have come looking for you."

"I... Who are they?" The doctor raised his head, unable to respond much.

Indeed, he was highly skilled, but after returning from abroad with a new identity, he thought he could live a peaceful life without anyone knowing his past. However, someone still found him and used his family to threaten him.

He initially thought it would be an outrageous task, but it turned out to be just an examination of a pregnant woman. The doctor sighed in relief, thinking he could sagely reunite with his family if he followed their instructions.

However, Lily choked him on his first day, making him fearfully tremble. Then Edward found the doctor and told him his family had been rescued and hidden in a safe place. The doctor did not believe it at first, but when he saw the videos and heard his family’s voices, he was relieved.

The successive twists and turns overwhelmed him. Adding to what was happening to his family, he panicked.

As for the man who threatened him, the doctor had no idea who he was or his identity. Moreover, he got blindfolded wherever he went and had no idea who these people were. He only knew they were foreigners.

“You want to know who they are? You don’t need to know that. It’ll only be more detrimental to you. It’s best if you know as little as possible,” Edward said while looking at the doctor.

Then he stepped forward and extended a helping hand to pull the doctor up. Edward understood the doctor's helplessness because he had experienced it himself.

"Let me ask you something. Have you completed the task I assigned to you?" He looked at the doctor thoughtfully.

Despite how sympathetic Edward felt inside, he still had important things to do. Moreover, it was also for the doctor’s good. Only by eradicating the organization could Edward, the doctor, and everyone else return to their everyday lives.
