"I know I'm just a nobody whose fate is bound with yours by chance. There's no way I can influence you, and it's ultimately your call." Lily licked her dry lips. "I just wanted to speak my mind.

"All right, I've said all I need to say. I'll rest now. You should get an early rest and think it through."

As Lily turned to leave, a guard hurried over. He walked past her and bowed to Yasmin, whispering something.

Lily should not have been able to hear anything since she was a distance away.

However, she could hear the guard because she had trained in combat. The guard whispered, "A Hylander came looking for Rhea."

Lily was surprised that an outsider would be looking for Rhea. The former glanced over and saw Yasmin looking at her. The guard stopped talking and waited for Lily to leave.

After some thought, Lily turned to leave. She then stopped outside the door but could not hear a thing. As a guard was waiting to return Lily to her room, she did not try to eavesdrop and left with him, even though she was curious.

Yasmin heard Lily's fading footsteps and looked toward the guard, asking, "Who's looking for Rhea?"

“Someone named Mike. He says he must see her for something important. His full name is Mike…" The guard tried to recall the last name.

Yasmin repeated the name under her breath and felt it sounded familiar.

The guard asked, “Your Majesty, should I tell him to leave?"

She waved. "No, let Rhea see him."

Although hesitant, the guard left to carry out her instruction.

Yasmin muttered, "What the hell is Rhea up to?"

Mike discreetly scanned his surroundings as he sat in the reception room.

Although he had been there before, he was not familiar with the place. He gently caressed his phone as he waited.

After a while, he heard footsteps, and Rhea appeared at the door. She was surprised to see him, narrowing her eyes as she said, "Didn't I tell you to come at night?"

She would not have the time to meet him if it were not for what happened just now. Still, she was puzzled as to why the guards allowed them to meet. After all, only Fred knew what was going on between Rhea and Mike.

'Does the queen know about this? If so, why didn't she ask me about it? Is she trying to see if I'd tell her?' Rhea sat on the sofa beside Mike and asked, "Where's the formula?"

"It's in my phone. I can copy it to you right away, but I'd like to know how Lily's doing." Mike placed the phone face down on the table, trying to negotiate with Rhea.

Rhea was upset. She did not like Mike but could not stand everyone caring about Lily so much.

After some hesitation, Mike asked, "Is she…still alive?"

"Why do you bother about her? Do you remember who you are?" Rhea eyed Mike suspiciously, thinking something was amiss.

'Why would he ask me that if he's still in the hypnotic state? Besides, he's trying to get information from me instead of readily giving me the formula. What does this mean? Something's off!' Mike stared at her and said, "I'm Mike Gorden."

"My master," Mike answered after hesitating for a moment.

"He's dead," Rhea suddenly said.

"No, that's not possible! Why would he kill a child? Fred could have just given Nicky back to me if he was no longer useful to him. They promised me."

Overwhelmed by the news, Mike kept muttering in a daze that it was impossible.

Rhea hadn't told him before this because she knew this would happen.

Rhea said, "Fred told me he killed your son, all right? Get over it. I know you're sad, but you can always have another child, can't you?" She didn't think losing a son was a big deal at all.

"So you've never seen him dead with your own eyes, right?" Mike continued.

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2344-Rhea was stumped. "What difference does it make? Why would he lie to me about this?"

Mike slowly handed over the phone but retracted it as Rhea happily reached for it. He said firmly, "No. I told you I obtained it to rescue my son. Since you can't do anything now, why should I give it to you? Rhea, I want to make a deal with you.” Rhea noticed how spirited he looked, like a man who had woken up from a long sleep. She narrowed her eyes and stopped trying to test him. Instead, she leaned back and asked, "What kind of deal?"

"One that will get you the invisibility potion formula," Mike spoke firmly, waving his phone.

"How would I know your formula is real?" Rhea scoffed. However, she continued to look at his phone.

"Well, I've made my offer." Mike got up to leave.

Rhea quickly stood up and said as she gazed after him, "Aren't we making a deal? You haven't told me what you wanted. How do you know if I won't agree to it?"

It was hard for her to give up on the formula, especially now.

Since Fred was no longer in power, he could no longer threaten her if she failed to make the invisibility potion work.

"How would I know if you don't tell me what the deal is?" As expected, Rhea would not promise him anything so quickly.

After some thought, she said, “I can't do it. Make another request."

"Why not? That's all I want you to do," he insisted.

"I can't rescue her! How about I pay you—" She remembered that Mike was already wealthy and caught herself. Unable to come up with anything else he might be interested in, she said, "I'll do anything except rescue Lily, okay?"

She would not save Lily, even if she wanted to.

Mike had expected her reaction. He shook his head and said, “That’s not how bargaining works."

“I just want the formula," Rhea said impatiently, "Besides, I still don’t know if the formula is real. I'll kill you if it isn’t!"

"All right. I want my son's body then." Mike lifted his chin.

Rhea was speechless.

'This is ridiculous! How am I going to retrieve his son's body? Nick is not even dead yet. If the experiment works, then Fred's soul will live inside Nick’s body.

She showed Mike the phone, but he looked away.

Rhea laughed. "So be it. Do you think I can’t find it without your help?"

She thought the file had to be in one of the folders, so she continued to search for it. A few minutes later, she was thrilled to find it and immediately sent it to her phone before even opening it.

The formula contained a list of drugs she was familiar with, and there was nothing special about these ingredients. Overjoyed, Rhea almost forgot that Mike was still there.

"The formula is fake, Rhea. The truth is there's no invisibility potion," Mike said.

Rhea looked at him and suddenly laughed. "Oh, yeah? Do you think I'd fucking believe you?"

"Can't you tell the formula is fake? You're only going to create something toxic using the formula," he said, trying to scare her.

Rhea played along and nodded thoughtfully. "Well, some of these ingredients are pretty toxic. Still, do you think I'll fall for it?"

Mike’s attempt to scare Rhea further convinced her that the formula was real.

'He would never tell me that if it’s fake. He only said that because I have it now.

Mixing these ingredients is indeed strange because they aren't compatible with each other.

The man shook his head and said, "I have no idea."

"He's here for his son." The queen narrowed her eyes. Although she had not seen Mike before, a guard had informed her about him.

She also knew Rhea had an argument with him and saw how the guards threw him out of the embassy.

"Oh." Seemingly uninterested in this, the man did not pry.

"He wants to rescue his son, but I can't let it happen," Yasmin said, sounding somewhat sad, "I must keep the boy for something important."

"Well, if Your Majesty needs the child, you shouldn't let him go."

Yasmin glanced at the man and shook her head. "But his son might have to die."

"It will be his honor to be a sacrifice for you, Your Majesty."

"Is that all you're going to say?" Yasmin stared at the man, somewhat irritated.

"You're not a robot, you know."

"I'm sorry to upset you, Your Majesty, but my job is to protect you and act on your interests," the man spoke respectfully.

Yasmin sighed and waved. "Forget it. I need someone like you around me. Fred always knew how to cheer me up, but for what? His ambition is greater than his abilities!"

She had long realized Fred was up to something, but she had let him be until just now. Having done so, she knew she was responsible for what had happened to Fred today. However, he would not have fallen for her trap if not for his greed.

"But he's in the storage room," the man said after a moment's hesitation.

"I know. Just take me there. I just want to talk to him, not stay there, okay?"

Since she insisted, the man then wheeled her to the top floor.

After spending two days in the storage room, Dominic was bored to death. The room was clean, and he had been fiddling with various odds and ends scattered around him to pass the time.

He was scared of nothing except losing his freedom. He had traveled to many places when he was young, facing hardships and dangers. Still, he was happy because he was free.

When he grew older, he bought a vast piece of land on the outskirts of Operose and built a home for himself. He then led a reclusive life, happily tending to his herbs, reading medical books, and occasionally helping Lily with Galen.

Therefore, being trapped in such a small room was too much for him to handle.

As he wondered if he should get the duke to kill him instead of imprisoning him, someone knocked on the door.

However, his visitor was not the duke or Lily but an elderly woman in a wheelchair.

A bodyguard-like man wheeled her inside, and Dominic locked eyes with her.

"Are you Mr. Dominic Fike, the miracle doctor?" Yasmin asked, breaking the silence.

Dominic glanced at the man behind her and then at her. "Who are you?"

"You're a woman. From Yudonia," he said thoughtfully, pointing at her.

"What's wrong with my age? I'm still young, okay?" Dominic said, patting his chest.

"I'm seventy-five!" Dominic declared. "I'm still young."

The queen was shocked.

'I'm five years younger than him and already feeling weak. How is he still so youthful?' Yasmin wondered.

"Why? Am I not young?" Dominic flexed his muscles. "Look how strong I am!"

Although he was no longer as muscular as he used to be, his spirited demeanor showed otherwise.

Yasmin played along. "Well, you are."

Dominic was pleased. "Right? I'm even stronger than most younguns."

The queen spoke sadly, "But even if we're in denial about getting old, we can never be young again, can we?"

She sometimes missed her youthful days. Now, she could no longer stand up and felt weaker with each passing day. It made her feel closer to death, and it terrified her.

Dominic frowned and said, "What are you talking about? I'm not in denial.

Besides, why must we be young again? Our lives aren’t complete unless we grow old."

Yasmin hesitated. "Complete?"

"Of course!" Dominic said firmly, "Do you know how many people have died before reaching my age? Everyone can experience youth, but not all have the chance to grow old. You should cherish it, all right?"

It was the first time anyone had said anything like that to the queen. People used to keep telling her how young and beautiful she was. However, she knew they were just trying to flatter her.

As she wondered what he would say, Dominic withdrew his hand and straightened up again.

"How is it?" Yasmin asked eagerly.

"It's okay," he said.

She did not expect to hear such a straightforward answer. She asked, despite herself, "Okay? What do you mean?"

Dominic waved. "It means you're doing okay for someone your age."

The queen grew even more confused.
