Ch. 2351..2360

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2351-"I… don't quite understand,” Yasmin sounded hesitant. Dominic cleared his throat and said thoughtfully, "Simply put, you're doing okay for someone your age, but you could be in better shape.” "Better how?" Yasmin looked eager. She wanted the most to slow down her aging, but it was too difficult to go against nature.

Dominic looked severe. "Based on your pulse, you're overworked and overstressed. Do you often feel that you don't have enough sleep or find it hard to wake up? Do you feel lethargic after waking up?” Yasmin was shocked that he had guessed everything so accurately. Even the doctors could not provide such accurate information based on her medical checkups. They only advised her to maintain a light diet and sleep early to increase sleep duration.

However, they did not know that she had always been struggling with insomnia, which had caused her great agony.

Still, she could not tell anyone about it. As many people wanted her dead to take her throne, such information would cause them to scheme against her.

Therefore, Yasmin was shocked yet pleasantly surprised that Dominic had revealed her secret. She earnestly asked, “ Do you think my illness is treatable?” “You're not ill,” Dominic waved no and said, “You don't need treatment, either.” "I…" Glancing to her left and right warily, Yasmin said, "But you're right about my symptoms. Besides, I always feel restless. Isn't this an illness?” “No,” Dominic said confidently, “It's normal for someone your age, and only one thing causes these symptoms.” "What is it?” Yasmin quickly asked. Dominic looked at her profoundly. “If you must call it an illness, then it's a psychological one.” “Psychological?” "That's right." Nodding, he sighed and said, "I can't cure your condition. Only you can.” Yasmin shook her head and straightened up. "I don't understand."

"No, no, you do understand. You understand everything, but it's up to you whether to cure yourself.”

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2352-Waving his hand, Dominic said insightfully, "You're exhausted because you tried to control everything and have also become restless as a result.

“Think about it. You have to handle so many things alone. How can you not feel restless?" Growing thirsty, he got up and poured himself a glass of water.

Deep in thought, Yasmin remained still. No one had ever dared to tell her that.

She suddenly had a moment of clarity. She murmured thoughtfully, “That means I can be saved?"

“As I said, you're not physically ill, so you don't need saving. It all depends on whether you're willing to let go.” Dominic sipped some water and shook his head. "This is bad.” Yasmin was puzzled.

“Oh, I'm saying the water here tastes terrible.” Dominic smiled, pointing at his glass.

“Sorry about that. I'll get someone to make you a cup of coffee,” Yasmin said as she turned to call for a servant.

Dominic waved. "No, no. I don't drink coffee. I prefer tea.” "What difference does it make?"

“That's like comparing apples to oranges! Besides, what you have is tap water, while I usually drink spring water that comes from the mountains. It's refreshing even without boiling it. You guys just don't know how to enjoy the good stuff.” Dominic laughed heartily.

Although he was thirsty after all that talking, his boredom had been lifted. He stretched lazily, and seeing this, Yasmin was envious. He was older than her, but he looked much livelier and younger.

"You seem to be in excellent shape. Being a miracle doctor, you must've taken care of yourself very well,” Yasmin said enviously.

He pointed at himself. "You're talking about me?"

“Yes, I am.” Yasmin nodded.

Dominic laughed. "I look lively and young, but I do have my share of health problems.” "Really? But you look healthy.” Yasmin shook her head doubtfully. “You can treat yourself of any illnesses, can’t you?

“Haven't you heard that a physician who treats himself has a fool for a patient?” Dominic looked at her.

"Although I can treat myself, my diagnosis might not be accurate. Besides, even if I can treat myself, it's impossible to prevent myself from getting sick at all. As long as we consume food, we're bound to get ill."

He then recalled something and slowly lost his smile.

“Also, I suffered a lot not long ago. I'm not as healthy as I used to be."

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2353-"You suffered? From what?" Yasmin asked curiously, not knowing what happened to him.

Letting out a sigh, Dominic shook his head. "I'd rather not talk about it."

"Why?" Having finally met someone around her age, Yasmin was curious and concerned.

Dominic considered Yasmin and said, "I just thought it was unnecessary to talk about it as it's over now. I was infected with a virus a while ago and nearly died.

Fortunately, I survived.” Yasmin blinked. "Virus? What virus?" She was curious about what kind of virus could stump a miracle doctor.

Dominic said flatly, "Well… The virus came from here. Didn't you know?"

"I… I didn't." After a pause, Yasmin suddenly realized something.

'Was Dominic infected by the virus from Fred's lab?' Yasmin had mixed emotions. On one hand, she wished Dominic had not suffered as she felt a sense of camaraderie with him. On the other hand, she felt proud that the virus her people created was so powerful that even the miracle doctor could not do anything about it.

"Then what happened? You're fine now, aren't you?" she asked.

Dominic nodded. "Yes, I was cured. Or are you talking to a ghost right now?" He laughed heartily at his own joke. "Anyway, I suffered a lot back then, and I'm no longer as healthy as I used to be."

Then, as if to prove his words, he started to cough severely. He quickly took a sip of water, adjusted his breathing, and straightened up.

Yasmin asked, "During the time you were infected, were you afraid of dying?"

"Dying?" Dominic nodded. "Of course, I was afraid. Who isn't? Those who claim they aren't probably don't know what they're talking about."

Yasmin nodded, glad that she had finally found someone who understood how she felt. "Yes, people only claim they aren't afraid of dying because they haven't reached our age.

"The older we get, the more afraid we are." She sighed. "It would be wonderful if we could live forever."

“Live forever?" Dominic stared at her in shock. "No, that doesn't sound wonderful at all."

"Don't you want to live forever?" She thought the miracle doctor would approve of her idea.

"Not even the slightest!" Dominic said firmly with a raised chin.

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2354-“Why?" Yasmin was baffled.

"Why do you want to live forever? Aren't you tired?"

Dominic's answer stumped Yasmin. She indeed had to deal with many things every day to the point she could not stop thinking about them whenever she tried to sleep at night. However, that was why she wanted to live on.

"I'm tired, but I still have many things to do. If I could prolong my life, I probably wouldn't be as tired as I could do more without having to rush everything," she said after some thought.

She attributed her problem to her life being too short. Thinking she could do more things if she had a longer lifespan, she longed for immortality.

"Come on," Dominic suddenly said.

Yasmin was puzzled.

"Don't you think you're overthinking the problem?" he asked. "There's an endless list of things for us to do. How long do you plan to work?"

Yasmin thought, 'As long as I possibly can!' She looked away, thinking that as a commoner, Dominic would not understand why she felt so strongly about this. "There are many people who need me, and I don't think you understand that."

"Well, I don't. Why must anyone overwork themselves? What's the point?"

Dominic thought, 'Many people push themselves to achieve materialistic goals nowadays. Yes, we need to ensure our livelihood, but what about other things in life? We should learn to let go. When we do, we'll realize that our lives won't be affected all that much. If we push ourselves too hard, we'll only make ourselves miserable, won't it?' Yasmin let out a sigh. "If I don't push myself, things will go wrong, and many people will be affected." She looked at Dominic. "Let's say that many people will die if you don't treat them. Will you be able to let go?"

“I absolutely can."

To her surprise, he answered without hesitation.

Yasmin shook her head gently.

Sensing her disbelief, Dominic explained, "Hey, even though people call me a miracle doctor, do you think I was always able to save my patients?

"I'm not God, all right? I can't save everyone."

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2355-"Won't you feel guilty? You could save so many more people or do so much more. You could even achieve the next medical breakthrough. If you live long enough, you'll be able to explore the mysteries of the world," Yasmin asked in bafflement.

She wanted to live longer to see and learn more about the world.

Dominic sighed and shook his head. "What for? Isn't the world depressing?"

After taking a sip of water, he said, "Have we not seen enough of the horror of the world at our age? Besides, how long are we supposed to live? Are we going to watch people around us die one by one while we remain old?"

Shaking his head, he added, "I don't want to become an old monster.” "Well, if there's a drug that can give you and your loved ones immortality, and you can live together forever—"

Dominic burst out laughing as if he had heard something funny. "Are you nuts?

Have you actually imagined what that would be like? You, me, our family, and friends live forever?"

He was beside himself in tears. "You've got to be kidding me, right? How many people can the world accommodate? If we don't die, we'll continue to marry and have kids, who will then have their own children, grandchildren, and so on. Just counting one family alone would be too many humans for this planet to handle."

Having never thought about this, Yasmin was stumped. "Then… We only use the drug for ourselves," she said after some pondering.

"Then we're back to square one. Are we just going to watch our loved ones die?" Dominic sighed. "This is pointless.

"I feel that our world is beautiful because of the cycle of life. Even leaves wither and fall, turning into compost that nurtures young plants. Why should human beings be any different? It's imperfections like death and separation that make our world perfect," he said, his voice choked with emotion.

This was Dominic's advice to Yasmin, but it was what he truly thought. Having treated so many patients and lived for as long as he had, he had come to realize that what mattered most was to live an exciting life. Death was not the end but was a necessary part of one's life.

Yasmin fell into deep thought. She did not like anyone trying to talk her into giving up achieving immortality. However, all he did was to tell her to go easy on herself, which had never crossed her mind before. His words were similar to Lily's.

She quietly wheeled herself toward the door and stopped there. She then turned around and asked gently, "You do know who I am, right?"

"Yes, I do." Dominic nodded. "You're someone who has lost their way."

She smiled at him. "Well, whatever it is, thank you."

"Thank me? What for?" He laughed. "I should be the one thanking you for chatting with me for so long.

I was so terribly bored."

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2356 -Yasmin smiled at Dominic once more and left. Her bodyguard then approached and grasped the handlebars of her wheelchair.

Holding the handrims to stop the wheels, she looked up at him. "Place Lily and the miracle doctor in the same suite. Make sure it's spacious and comfortable."

"As you say, ma'am," the bodyguard replied and went to handle the task.

Yasmin looked over her shoulder at the closed door and let out a long sigh.

Mike had not gone far from the embassy's entrance when a car pulled up beside him. He stopped in his tracks and got in.

Alexander, who was inside, asked solemnly, "How did it go?"

"I gave it to her," Mike said flatly.

"Did she buy it?"

"I think so."

Alexander nodded in satisfaction.

"Rhea is suspicious by nature and a self-centered person. She might suspect something if it was just handed to her. The more she has to work for it, the less suspicious she'll be." Austin shook his head. "That's human nature for you."

"Well, human nature is complex," Alexander said regretfully, "That's why some people use it to harm people."

"Are you talking about Fred?" Austin asked with a raised brow.

"Not just him, but many other people."

After talking for a while, they noticed Mike was quiet and gave him a puzzled look. "What's the matter? Something happened?"

"No." Mike shook his head, looking somewhat exhausted. He also seemed unhappy and listless.

Sensing something was off, Alexander asked, "Was it something that Rhea said? Or did something happen in the embassy?"

"No…" After a pause, Mike said in a quavering voice, "My son is dead."

"What?!" Alexander and Austin said at the same time, shocked.

"Who told you that?" Alexander asked, "Or did you see something?" He placed a comforting hand on Mike's shoulder.

Staring down at the car floor, Mike said grimly, "Rhea said Nicky is already… It's true."

"That's impossible!" Austin said, "Rhea's full of shit, okay? Don't believe a word she says."

Nodding, Mike said seriously, "I know she could be lying, but I."

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2357 -"But you can't escape that terrible feeling, right?" Alexander knew how Mike felt.

If someone had told him his children were dead, he wouldn't be able to take it either. He couldn't even describe how anxious he was while awaiting the twin's return.

"Don't worry, I'm just feeling a bit upset." Mike looked up. "But I'll never give up on finding Nicky, whether he's alive or not."

"You shouldn't." Alexander said, "She was probably just trying to provoke you.

They've had Nick for quite some time. Why would she suddenly tell you that?

Why would they kill him now?"

Alexander didn't think it made sense.

'The fact that Nick has been held captive in the Royal Palace of Yudonia shows that they're only using him to control Mike. Why would Rhea suddenly tell him that the boy is dead? Even if they were to kill Nick, there must be a reason.

'Not to mention they wanted Mike to give them the invisibility potion formula.

They'd be foolish to kill Nick now.' Mike nodded. He knew he couldn't trust Rhea entirely, and she was unable to show him his son's body. Yet, what she said had a strong emotional impact on him.

"Yeah, man. Rhea's full of lies, and she's unusually cunning." Austin agreed with Alexander.

After some thought, he asked Mike, "Why would she suddenly bring that up?"

"I asked her to rescue my son, and she told me to drop it because Nicky is already…"

"Then she must've said it as an excuse not to help you," Austin said, "She was just trying to make you give up, okay? You mustn't believe her. Even if she wasn't trying to lie to you, it might not be the truth unless you see the. you know."

He couldn't bear to mention the word "body."

"I shouldn't have let her get to me. Anyway, Nicky is still waiting for me to rescue him. I'm not going to just give up because of what that woman said."

After consoling Mike, Alexander thought of a more critical question. "Did you notice anything unusual when you were in there?"

"No," Mike recalled carefully and shook his head. "Everything seemed normal in the office area, and there was nothing unusual about Rhea. If I have to point out something strange."

"Yeah?"

"I think people there were different from the ones we saw last time," he said after a moment's hesitation, uncertain.

Alexander was puzzled. "What do you mean?"

"I'm talking about those working in the embassy. Most of them weren't the ones we saw last time."

Austin said, "That's normal, right? Since so many people work there, I doubt you'd remember all of them. Maybe the ones working the other day changed shifts and weren't working today. Or perhaps you just aren't good with Yudonian faces."

"I thought so, too," Mike said, "But I'm pretty sure they weren't the same ones."

He had dealt with many Yudonians after living abroad for many years, and he was good with faces.

"Then they must've changed shifts or something," Austin said.
