To avoid any trouble, Lily ensured the old man left early in the morning.

It was done quietly, so not many people knew about it.

Lily stood on the balcony and sighed in relief when she saw the car carrying Dominic leave the embassy.

She knew Fred might try to stop Dominic halfway, but the queen would not do such a thing.

Lily then took a deep breath and headed straight to the laboratory.

Although familiar with her way there, she was surprised to see it still in operation when she arrived.

Entering, she saw Rhea sitting alone by the table, where a piece of equipment was running.

Rhea seemed to have dozed off with her head propped on her hand and back toward Lily.

Lily quietly walked up behind her and narrowed her eyes when she saw the things inside the equipment.

She could not tell what they were, but she knew Rhea's experiment was never meant to help people.

Rhea caught herself from leaning forward and looked up.

She then sighed in relief when she realized she had not missed a thing.

Immediately after, she sensed something and abruptly looked over her shoulder.

Rhea was shocked and somewhat angry to see Lily.

"Why are you here?"

Rhea had gone to great lengths to secure an opportunity to work on something that could shock the world, yet Lily reappeared.

The former was baffled that the woman who would become a guinea pig could be standing there, looking as though she was a free woman.

"What harmful thing are you researching now?" Lily asked.

Rhea rolled her eyes.

"Why do you care?"

"Exactly! What do you care?"

Lily turned and walked away.

As it would be pointless to stop Rhea, Lily decided to leave her alone.

What mattered now was to rescue Nick and get Yasmin to stop the R10 experiment.

Still, Rhea chased after Lily.

"Wait! What are you doing here? Her Majesty agreed to let me take charge of the lab.

Stop right there! Do you hear me?!"

She was furious because Lily ignored her.

Rhea could not tolerate anyone ignoring her.

She quickly overtook Lily and barred her way.

"Hey, I told you to stop!"

Lily stopped and looked at her in amusement.

"Why should I listen to you?"

"You little—"

Rhea calmed herself, knowing she could never outargue Lily.

The former changed her tone, "There are many pieces of equipment here, and you might accidentally touch what you shouldn't.

"Besides, Her Majesty has entrusted the place to me.I don't know why you're here, but you mustn't disturb my experiment.It’s imperative!"

On the other hand, Lily chose a relatively quiet room to conduct her experiment.

After checking out other rooms, she picked this one because there was only one entrance that she could easily monitor.

Although there were surveillance cameras inside, there were blind spots.

Still, it did not matter where Lily worked because her idea was new, and Yasmin would not understand what she was doing.

Since that was the case, Lily could do whatever she wanted.

She switched on a machine and waited for the needed herbs to arrive.

Mike stood quietly at the edge of the balcony for a long while. Austin passed by and saw Mike, so the former went to stand beside him. Austin followed Mike’s gaze and noticed no one was in the yard, wondering what Mike was looking at.

Alexander did not have many housekeepers at home.

After everything that had happened, he dismissed some of them, leaving only a few loyal ones.

Austin looked at the yard and then at Mike, but the latter kept staring ahead without glancing at Austin.

Austin could not help but ask, "What are you looking at?"

"The cars," he said blandly.

"The cars?" Austin frowned.

Several cars were in the yard, but they had always been there.

Austin could not understand why Mike would look at them

Austin played along, "Yeah, we haven't seen much of him over the past two days.I wonder what he's up to."

After a pause, he thought of something and looked over his shoulder at Mike.

"You're waiting for Alex?"

"What has he been doing?"

Mike finally turned to look at Austin.

The former looked confused and somewhat suspicious.

"What else? He must be busy with the rescue.

Besides, he can't just abandon his business, can he? I'm sure he still has to take care of it occasionally."

Thinking Mike was behaving strangely, Austin added, "You're not suspicious of him, are you?"

"Can't I be?" Mike asked.

Austin instinctively tried to feel his forehead, but Mike leaned back, avoiding his hand.

"Are you feeling okay? What's gotten into you? You know what Alex has done for us.I know you're anxious for your son, but you shouldn't overthink things, okay?" Austin said.

Mike looked at Austin intensely and turned to look toward the yard.

"I'm not."

"You're not? Did you even hear yourself just now?"

Austin said, "You know, it's not that we can do anything we want considering who they are.Besides—"

Mike interrupted, "Has the prince called you?"

"Huh?" Caught off guard, Austin shook his head. "No." "Oh," Mike said, looking dispirited. He had been emotionally unstable, and any news regarding Nick would significantly affect his mood. Perhaps he would only calm down when his son returned. Just as Austin wanted to console him, a familiar-looking car moved in from outside.

It took a moment for him to realize it was Alexander's car.

Since Alexander had many cars and seldom used that one, Austin did not recognize it right away.

As the car slowly moved into the yard, Austin looked at Mike and said, "We're all friends, so stop imagining things, okay? I understand how you feel.

Although I have no children, I know what it feels like to have a family held hostage…"

His voice trailed off when he saw the car stop, and it was not Alexander who got out of the car.

Austin shouted in surprise, "Uncle Dom?!"

He then rushed downstairs.

Mike stared at the old man and leaned over the railing expectantly.

However, no one else got out of the car except Alexander, even after it went away to park.

Staring wide- eyed for a moment, Mike spun around and ran downstairs as well.

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2404 -“Uncle Dom!" Austin grabbed Dominic's arms excitedly. "It's really you!"

"Of course it's me!" Dominic snorted and glared at him.

Austin giggled, unable to contain his joy. As the two talked, someone stormed past them toward the car. Mike pressed against the car window and strained to look inside, banging on it. "Nick?! Nicky!” Alexander, Austin, and Dominic fell silent. Ultimately, Alexander went over and patted Mike's shoulder. "He's not in there."

"You're lying!" Mike pushed Alexander's hand off him, refusing to accept the truth. "If Dominic can come back, why can't my son?"

Mike pointed at the old man as he roared.

Alexander looked at him deeply. "You know your son's scenario is different."

"How is it different? He's just a kid!" Mike shouted, almost bursting into tears.

Since he was on the brink of breaking down, it was too much of a blow to him that the embassy had released Dominic but not Nick.

"You know they're treating him as a test subject like Lily," Alexander said calmly.

Mike knew, but he just could not accept it. He even wanted to take Nick's place in the experiment if he could. Mike sank to his knees with his hands still on the car.

Seeing him so, Dominic and Austin walked over. The old man said, "I saw your son."

Mike looked up at Dominic with hopeful eyes. "Really?!"

The old man nodded thoughtfully. "I only saw him once. Isn't he about this tall?"

Gesturing, he continued, "He looks like a well-behaved kid with a pair of big eyes. He also speaks steadily like a grownup, right?"

Mike nodded repeatedly as the old man described Nick.

"Yes, yes, that's him! How is he? Has he lost weight? Is he hurt? Is there anything wrong with him?" Mike asked anxiously, grabbing Dominic's arms.

The old man glanced at Mike's hands and then looked up and shook his head. "I never met him before that. How do I know if he has gained or lost weight? As for injuries, there are none. I also took his wrist pulse, and he's healthy. Rest assured, he's not sick or anything."

Relieved, Mike kept nodding. "What else?"

"That's it. I told you I've only met your boy once." After a pause, Dominic added, "However, I must say your son is a much stronger person than you."

Mike was puzzled.

Dominic pulled Mike's hands off himself and said, “I meant that last part."

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2405 -Momentarily taken aback, Mike nodded and stood up. "Yeah, you're right. My son is much tougher than me!"

"Do you know in which aspect?" Dominic asked, baffling not just Mike but also Alexander and Austin, who shared a look.

Mike shook his head. "I guess in every aspect."

"It's the mindset,” Dominic shook his head and said meaningfully, "Your son has a better mindset than you. I've met many people, but rarely anyone like him.” Dominic continued sympathetically, "The situation is hard to bear, let alone for a child. However, he's very calm and sensible. He's something else—I'll give him that."

Mike let out a half-smile after hearing the old man's praise as if he was seeing his son now. "Yeah, Nicky has always been a sensible boy. Many people say he's too mature to be a child."

Mike's smile slowly faded as he continued, "Sometimes I wish he could be more childlike. It's my fault for not being around for him much."

Since Nick had always been with his mother in the past, Mike wished he could spend more time with his son if he had the chance.

"Hey, quit dwelling on what could've been because we can't do it all over again.

If your son could move on and is now doing his best to stay alive, how can you be such a wimp?" Dominic asked.

Stumped, Mike gradually grew calmer. He nodded and said, "You're right. I was too emotional. I should pull myself together for my son!"

Dominic looked at him deeply, sighing. "I didn't mean to criticize you, but we shouldn't waste time feeling sorry for ourselves. We still have to stop the experiment, don't we?"

"Not unless we can change Queen Yasmin's mind." Alexander shook his head.

"We thought about it before."

"Yes, it's indeed hard to change that old gal's mind," Dominic said with a sigh.

After talking to her a few times, he seemed to have swayed her. Still, something would crop up during a turning point and spoil his efforts.

Dominic then shook his head and noticed the trio looking at him funny. He blinked in puzzlement, asking, “What? Did I say something funny?” “No, not at all!” The trio coughed, thinking only Dominic would dare call the queen an old gal.

"Let's talk inside," Austin quickly said, not wanting to keep the old man standing.

They then moved into the mansion.

Dominic quickly sat down and leaned back, looking tired. Alexander gently asked, “Would you like to take a nap first?"

The old man glared at him. "I'm starving! Can I at least eat first?"

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2406 -Amused, Alexander quickly asked his housekeepers to prepare a meal. Dominic later wolfed down the food as the trio looked on.

"Didn't the embassy provide any food?"

"So what if they did?" Dominic took a burrito. "I'm not used to Yudonian dishes."

He shook his head as if disgusted by their food.

Austin pushed a bowl of mushroom soup over. "Eat slowly, Uncle Dom. It's all yours."

"So why did they let you go?" Mike asked curiously.

Dominic glanced at him and fell silent for a moment. He then grabbed a napkin to wipe the corner of his mouth. "That little brat found a way to get me out."

The trio was puzzled for a moment but soon realized he was referring to Lily.

"But why would they agree to let you go?"

Indeed, it was surprising. After all, Nick and Lily had never managed to escape before this.

"Well, I'm not very important to them." Dominic leaned into his chair and said casually, "What matters to them is the experiment, not an old man like me."

Nodding, Alexander knew he was right. That was why Lily could never return unless Yasmin changed her mind.

Austin asked in frustration, "Is there no other way to stop the experiment besides changing Queen Yasmin's mind?"

Well, there is," Mike said thoughtfully. As he sounded odd, the others looked at him curiously.

"If Her Majesty dies, the experiment will stop." He looked solemnly at them.

Alarmed, Austin said, "Are you talking about assassinating her? Are you out of your fucking mind?!"

"It doesn't have to be an assassination. The queen is old, isn't she? Who knows, she might get sick or encounter some kind of accident." Although Mike said so, they knew what he meant.

However, it was too radical, and murdering someone would make them no different than those who conducted those harmful experiments. Furthermore, assassinating the queen was no simple task.

"Actually, there might be a way to change Queen Yasmin's mind," Alexander suddenly said, surprising the others.

He glanced meaningfully at Mike, the man Rhea had failed to control.

After a pause, the old man continued, "However, it's possible to manipulate Her Majesty's consciousness into believing what she sees is real by entering her dream."

Austin had heard of this before, but having not done related academic research before, he did not know much about it. He blinked, somewhat skeptical. "Are you sure? What if she wakes up halfway and pretends to be hypnotized like Mike did?"

Dominic patiently explained, "As I said, we're to manipulate her senses but not her mind. As long as you don't try to control it, the chances of her waking up aren't high.” Rhea's experiment failed because she placed too much hope on the drug, thinking it could control a person's mind with the help of hypnosis. "Me!" Dominic suddenly said, startling Austin so much that he almost fell backward.

"Uncle Dom?" Austin reseated himself and looked toward the old man. "Are you out of your mind? You just got back, for goodness' sake! No, you can't take such a risk."

He shook his head vigorously. He could not let his granduncle put himself in danger again.

"Who else can go? You?" Dominic gave Austin a sidelong glance and snorted.

Austin was stumped.

"Only I can meet her. Besides, I'm afraid I'm the only person who knows how to do it," the old man spoke solemnly, trying to state a fact.

The trio could only remain silent and admit he was right. Even if they were willing to take the risk and create a chance to meet Yasmin, they would not know how to hypnotize her. Although Rhea had tried to hypnotize Mike before, he did not know how to do it.

"Are you confident?" Alexander asked. He would never let the old man take the risk if he were not.

Dominic glanced at Alexander and nodded. "I once saved her, so I think she'll trust me. Besides, she has insomnia. She won't suspect a thing if I tell her the hypnosis is to help her sleep."

Since he sounded reasonable, the other two had no reason to stop him.

However, Austin still felt uneasy about it. "But you just got out of—"

With that, the group concluded their meeting. Although it was only two days, the wait was distressing enough. For them, each day delayed was unbearable.

Meanwhile, Rhea and Lily put their best efforts into their experiments as if competing against each other.

Yasmin had never visited the laboratory, not even once. It was as if she had forgotten about the place. All she did was bask in the sun and feel the wind on the balcony as if enjoying her retirement.

The sunlight was lovely today as the queen wheeled herself to the airy spot on the balcony. She tilted her head back and narrowed her eyes, listening to the birds chirping.

Rick approached from behind and placed a thin blanket over her, saying, “It's pretty windy out here, Your Majesty.” His simple gesture showed he cared for her. When he leaned over to adjust the blanket, Yasmin said, “You're blocking the sun."

Rick quickly straightened up and moved aside while Yasmin enjoyed the sun's warmth. Rick could only stand aside in silence.

Yasmin remained quiet for a long while, seeming to have fallen asleep until the sound of a car engine echoed from downstairs. She opened her eyes slightly and glanced downstairs, probably disturbed by the noise.

Her position offered the view of the gate, but since she was in a wheelchair, she could see nothing. She grunted and moved her body, saying, "How long was I asleep?"

"Not long, Your Majesty," Rick answered gently, "Only about an hour."

"An hour, huh? I felt like I slept for a long time. That was a good nap." Feeling slightly numb, she stretched her neck and looked over her shoulder at Rick. "It'd be wonderful if I could sleep that well every day," she said thoughtfully.

As she got old, she realized having proper sleep had become a luxury.

Rick was not good with words, unlike Fred. Hence, the former remained silent. If Fred were around, he would surely try to flatter Yasmin and tell her she was still young. However, Rick simply continued guarding her.

"They are still working on them."

The queen knew it meant the two had made little progress.

The lush greenery around the place lifted her mood. However, many yellow leaves fell from the branches when the wind blew.

"I don't wish to wait forever." Gazing at the fallen leaves on the ground, Yasmin said thoughtfully, "Inform all the experts to get prepared. I want to proceed with R10."

Rick was somewhat surprised. "Now?"

"Tell them to prepare and await further instructions," she said solemnly and stopped talking.

Rick left immediately to carry out her order.

Meanwhile, Lily remained focused on her experiment, clueless about Rick and Yasmin's conversation. Since all the other experiments had stopped, only Lily and Rhea worked in the laboratory.

Rhea went to see what Lily worked on out of curiosity—however, the former left after failing to understand Lily's work. Lily knew Rhea had come over but ignored her. What the former told Yasmin was a half-truth, after all.

Lily had lied about searching for another way to achieve immortality. As far as she knew, it was unachievable. Still, activating cell regeneration for a longer and healthier life was possible.

As she was not going against her conscience, she made good progress.

Meanwhile, things were different for Rhea. Whenever she felt close to succeeding, she failed. As it was a complicated experiment, it was usual to suffer continuous setbacks.
