Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2411 -Not again!' Rhea exclaimed inwardly. She knew she should not be so impatient but could not help it. Somehow, she felt threatened by Lily also experimenting.

Rhea took a deep breath and looked up at the apparatus and the data on the screen. She then threw everything into a specialized trash bin and marched out to see Lily's progress. Rhea soon reached Lily's area and realized she was sleeping inside.

Rhea rubbed her eyes and looked again to ensure Lily was indeed asleep. The latter lay comfortably on a rocking recliner with a thick blanket over her. Lily looked like she was on vacation, with tea and snacks on the table beside her.

Rhea grew even more frustrated when she saw how smoothly Lily's experiment went.

'How can she be enjoying herself here while I've been working my ass off?

Instead of experimenting, she just found an excuse to slack off! No, she came here to agitate me. That must be it!' Thinking so, Rhea glared at her and had an evil idea when she turned to look at the stuff on the table.

Since Lily was still asleep, she hurried over and touched the apparatus.

Suddenly, a relaxed voice sounded, "I wouldn't do that if I were you."

Startled, Rhea looked over her shoulder.

Lily remained on the recliner but did not even open her eyes.

Still, Rhea was familiar with her voice and was sure she was the one who said that.

Rhea snorted and reached toward the apparatus again while staring at Lily.

"Three, two…" Lily suddenly started to count down, her eyes still closed.

Rhea was baffled.

"Cut the shit—" Before she could finish, Rhea felt a burning pain in her hand and groaned.

She jerked her hand back and glared at Lily. "What the hell are you making here?"

"I warned you, didn't I?"

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2412 -Finally, Lily opened her eyes and slowly sat up. “You studied medicine, yet you can't tell me what it contains?"

Rhea turned and studied the contents of the apparatus with a frown. However, she still could not tell even after sniffing at it. She roared, "You're just bluffing!"

She noticed her hand was reddish on one side as if it had been scalded. Even so, what she touched was not hot. Some liquid flowed out from the several bottles that she knocked over.

Still, Lily did not look nervous, as if she did not mind them. She even refilled her teacup and casually took a sip. She then said with a half-smile, "Why? You don't know what they are? It's okay—you can tell me."

"They're just some corrosive chemicals. What's so special about them?" Rhea said, "I only burned my hand because you tricked me."

"I warned you, didn't I?" Glancing at her, Lily put down her tea while glancing at Rhea before heading toward her.

The former looked at Rhea's injured hand and then at the table, continuing, "You're wrong. Those aren't corrosive chemicals. Honestly, even I don't know what they are."

Rhea was bewildered.

"Don't look at me like that. I genuinely don't know what those are." Lily chuckled and leaned to the side. "As you know, I'm in the experimental stage, so I must remain open-minded.

"I'm trying to mix non-compatible chemicals to see what changes they bring."

Tilting her head, Lily looked at the stuff beside her. "See? The results are surprising."

"Have you gone mad?!" Rhea exclaimed despite herself. Having done countless experiments, she thought it was ridiculous to mix chemicals without a clear goal.

"It's normal for accidents to happen. As someone who has experimented often, you should know, shouldn't you?" After a pause, Lily thought of something. "Oh, yeah, didn't you have an accident once and blow up the whole place?

"You even… faked your death, didn't you? It's not fair if only you can go crazy."

Lily sneered and then turned to leave.

"That was different!" Rhea said, "Wait a minute. Just what kind of experiment are you conducting? What are you up to?"

"It's none of your damn business," Lily said bluntly, "Have I ever asked about your experiments?"

"If you ask me, I'll tell you," Rhea said, as if offering to exchange information.

"Sorry, I'm not interested." Lily waved no, looking uninterested.

The more she did so, the more exasperated Rhea became. "Aren't you curious about what harmful experiment I'm conducting?"

Lily found it laughable that Rhea would admit it. The former sat back on the recliner and looked at her. "So you admit you've been harming people? So you know what you're doing, yet you claim to be advancing science. What a joke.

You're a disgrace to all scientists."

Rhea ignored that and said, "You aren't even experimenting, are you? I know you're just trying to buy time. Am I right?"

 

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2413-Rhea had no idea what sort of deal Lily had made with Yasmin. After all, the queen had only put Rhea in charge of the laboratory two days ago.

Rhea knew Lily was different from her. The former was upset that almost everyone favored Lily. From the look of it, Lily was not serious about her experiment at all.

"Whatever." Lily glanced at Rhea casually. "Snitch on me if you want."

Rhea's hand hurt, making Lily's attitude agitate her further.

“Do you think I won't? You're not the queen's only favorite! Don't forget why you're here, Lily. There are no VIP guests in the embassy,” Rhea mocked and turned to leave.

Lily remained seated as she gazed after Rhea's departing figure. As the former's smile faded, she grew solemn. Lily knew she was not the queen's favorite.

Although Yasmin seemed kind and friendly, she was highly selfish.

If not, she would not have held onto the throne for so many years without abdicating and ignoring her son's advice to stop the experiment. Therefore, Lily thought only a better alternative could change Yasmin's mind.

Indeed, Rhea was right to think Lily was just messing around in the lab. The latter knew it was impossible to achieve immortality and did not want to waste her life limited life on something so meaningless.

Besides, Lily never intended to develop such a thing anyway. While it was possible to slow down aging and prolong life through stimulating cell regeneration, such research would take a very long time.

What mattered most to Lily was to show Yasmin that she was indeed experimenting. Lily planned to show her finished product after some time. It did not matter whether or not Lily's experiment would work since Yasmin and her experts would know nothing about it.

Since Yasmin trusted Lily's abilities, others would believe whatever Lily said. Lily only had one goal now —to rescue Nick.

Meanwhile, Rhea stormed away to look for Yasmin. However, the guards stopped her, informing her that the queen was not around.

Please pass her my message. Otherwise, you'll all pay for messing things up, okay? It's about the experiment."

Rhea could not help but speak arrogantly, thinking she was now working for the queen.

However, the guards remained still. One of them said, "Her Majesty says no one is to disturb her."

Sensing something was off, Rhea tried to peer inside, but the guards held her back. She frowned and asked, "Is Her Majesty resting, or has she gone somewhere else?"

"We can't tell you that."

Rhea felt helpless but knew she could not force her way in.

Although Yasmin permitted her to use the laboratory, Rhea knew it did not mean the queen treated her differently. Besides, it was unusual for the queen to let Lily conduct her experiment under the circumstances.

Although Rhea was upset, she could only stomach her frustration and head toward the elevator. After taking a few steps, she seemed to think of something and walked back to the guards.

"Hey, if Her Majesty isn't around, can I see Rick? Tell him that I have something important and urgent to discuss." She tried to look as if she was in a hurry.

Hearing so, the two guards exchanged a hesitant look.

"I'm not kidding, guys," she stressed.

However, the two guards stayed still and answered, "Rick isn't here either. You'll have to wait."

"He's not around, too?" Rhea was surprised. However, she knew Rick hardly ever left Yasmin's side, and they probably left together. Still, Rhea wondered what they could be doing.

'What could be more important than the experiment? Isn't it the queen's priority?

Rhea felt better when she realized Yasmin had not told Lily anything either. It showed Lily did not matter as much to the queen as Rhea had thought. Still, Rhea wondered where else the queen could be if not the laboratory.

Puzzled, Rhea turned and headed out.

Lily half-sat up and gazed after her with a frown, feeling something was amiss.

"What… do you mean?"

"Nothing. Just continue with your work," Rhea answered without looking back.

"Or I should say go back to sleep."

She mocked Lily because she did not seem serious about the experiment. Rhea thought she did not need to bother will Lily since even the queen did not care about her that much.

What mattered most to Rhea was finding out what Yasmin was up to. After going through so much, Rhea knew she could only achieve her goals by understanding what others desired.

Lily knew something was up when she heard Rhea's hurried footsteps.

'Although Rhea might be trying to trick me, it doesn't look like it either. Besides, she was surprised I was still here when she returned. Where else would I be if not here? Why would she expect otherwise.' With that in mind, Lily got up and headed out. However, there was no one outside, and the laboratory was so quiet that it was unnerving. Lily somehow felt even more uneasy this time. Soon after, she went to Yasmin's room.

As Lily exited the elevator, a guard stopped her. "Halt!"

Lily said, "Please tell Her Majesty I need to see her regarding something urgent."

The two guards exchanged glances before one said, "Her Majesty doesn't wish to see anyone."

Lily responded half-threateningly, "It's important. You know who I am and how highly Her Majesty thinks of me. If something happens, you'll have a lot to answer for."

The guards chuckled, and then one of them said, "It's funny how everyone around here seems to think they're VIPs and have something important to the Her Majesty."

"Someone came here before me?" Lily asked curiously.

Catching themselves, the guards waved no. "No, no, Her Majesty says she's not seeing anyone. You should go back and wait for her summons." "Is Her Majesty not seeing anyone, or is she not around?" Lily asked. Due to her instincts and combat training, she could sense there was no one else around besides the two guards.

"Okay, I got it." Lily nodded.

The guards were puzzled, wondering what she got. They remained at their posts as they watched her leave.

When Lily reentered the elevator, she did not press the floor button.

Based on Rhea's words and the guards' reaction, it was evident the two guards were referring to Rhea just now. In other words, Rhea had gone looking for the queen but got turned away, too.

'Rhea also assumed Her Majesty was with me, so she rushed back just now to see Yasmin? That must be why Rhea was surprised to see me all by myself.

She must've thought I was with the queen instead.' Even Lily wondered where else Yasmin and herself would be if not the laboratory. Unable to come up with an answer, Lily wondered why Yasmin would avoid telling her and Rhea where she had gone.

Lily thought of someone, and a chill ran down her spine. She then pressed a floor button and wished her suspicions were wrong.

When the elevator reached the floor below, she strode out and broke into a jog.

However, she was alarmed before she could even reach the bedroom door. No one was guarding the room.

Typically, two formidable-looking guards would be standing outside. This time, both were absent. Lily hurried over and pushed the door open. “Nicky—"

It was so quiet that she could almost hear her voice echoing in the empty room.

Still, she refused to give up and called for the boy again, "Nick? Nicky!"

She went around the room but found no one. Her heart sank as her worst fears came true—the queen had taken Nick away.

'Since the queen has done this without my knowledge, she must be trying to— Is she that desperate?

Why couldn't she wait for me? She knows how risky the experiment is!' Lily turned and ran out of the room.

'Is it locked?' Lily knew nothing was wrong with the elevator. After all, it should not have been able to reach other floors if there were. It was evident access to that floor was unavailable. However, it also proved Lily's suspicions to be true.

"It won't work." Rhea neared and snorted. "You're trying to get to that floor, right? For your information, it's locked. I tried the stairs just now, but there are guards everywhere, so it's impossible to get past them.

"She purposely kept this from us, didn't she? I wonder how long it's been since they started the experiment. Perhaps it's over by now. Even if we can go there, it'll be too late."

Rhea sighed and added, "What a pity."

'She's fast, huh?' Rhea sneered and walked downstairs to where Fred was supposed to be. She wanted to see how the guards would turn Lily away and then gloat about it.

Although Rhea moved fast, she did not see Lily even after reaching that floor.

When Rhea pushed the door open, guards barred her way. "Halt!"

The guard looked at her up and down, saying, "It's you again!"

"Did…someone come in just now?"

"What's it to you? Leave!" a guard exclaimed sternly.

Rhea tried to be patient, asking, "Who else came here besides me? Have you guys…seen Lily?"

"Are you deaf? Get the fuck out of here." The man began to chase her away.

Rhea felt somewhat angry and helpless as the guard shoved her backward.

More importantly, she was baffled.

'Lily headed toward the stairwell just now, didn't she? Didn't she have to come through here? They couldn't have let her in. The queen kept her in the dark like I was. She would have told me about it if she wanted Lily to go. Where else could Lily go if she came to the stairwell?' Suddenly, the commotion she created attracted the attention of those inside. Rick looked stern and upset as he seemingly appeared out of nowhere.

"Sir." One of the guards walked over and whispered something to him.

Rhea saw Rick look over and wanted to approach him, but the guards would not let her. She shouted, "Rick, I have something important to tell Her Majesty!"

Just as the guards were about to scold her, Rick said, "Let her through."

Immediately after, Rhea ran over and cut to the chase, asking, "Is Her Majesty going through with the experiment now?"

Rick frowned. "What is it that you want to tell the queen?"

"Well." Stumped momentarily, she met Rick's glare and said, "It's about Lily…Has she come through here?"

"Why do you care if she does?" Rick sized her up impatiently. "If you have nothing important to tell the queen, I suggest you leave immediately. Or else."

Although he did not finish his sentence, Rhea knew what he meant.

"When I was experimenting in the lab, I discovered that Lily wasn't taking her task seriously." Not wanting to be chased away, Rhea quickly added, "I even saw her come over here, but the guards claimed they didn't see her. She might've snuck in."

"Snuck in?" Finally, Rick's stiff look changed, and he narrowed his eyes slightly.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, Lily won't give up so quickly and is as sly as a fox. Since the guards didn't notice her and considering that she knows kickboxing, could she have found another way to get in?” Rhea studied Rick's expression and then glanced toward the room.

She could only see the closed door from where she stood. She could also hear some noises coming from inside.

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2419-"Are you doubting us?" Rick sounded upset. After all, they would have caught Lily just now if she had snuck past them. Besides, she could not have entered at all since they had blocked the access through the elevator and the stairwell.

"No, I'm just saying what if," Rhea explained, "I—"

Rick interjected, "There's no what if."

"Okay, maybe I worry too much," she said awkwardly. There was no point arguing with Rick if he did not believe it would happen.

"I…"

"It's time for you to leave," he said coldly and turned to leave.

Still, Rhea refused to go. "Can I see Her Majesty? I promise I won't interfere or say a word." She raised her hand to swear, adding, "I'll do anything you guys want me to."

"We want you to leave now!" Rick snapped.

Rhea was at a loss and could only mutter, "Okay."

Even so, she could not help but keep looking over her shoulder as she left. After taking just a few steps, she heard someone calling for Rick. She knew it was Yasmin's voice. Surprised, Rhea slowed down and soon heard Rick's voice, "Wait! Come in."

"I'm coming!" Rhea happily ran over.

Rick was upset. It was evident he would not have said so without Yasmin's order.

Rhea entered the room and realized it was not as spacious as she had thought —it was rather crowded. The doctors glanced at her and then looked toward the two beds. Lying in the beds were Fred and Nick.

'They're going ahead with the experiment in such an environment?' Rhea was puzzled as she turned away without voicing her doubts. After all, she had promised not to interfere with what they were doing. She saw the queen in the middle and quickly curtsied. "Greetings, Your Majesty."

"Why'd you insist on coming?" Yasmin asked bluntly.

"I." After some thought, Rhea chose to be honest. "I speculated that Your Majesty might have started the R10 experiment, so I didn't want to miss it. It'll be my honor to observe such a monumental experiment even if I can't take part in it."

Yasmin glanced at her impassively and said, "Do you genuinely think it's a monumental experiment?"
