Ch. 2821..2830
The Day I Kissed An Older Man Chapter 2821-"Lucy, quickly find the owner of Golden Sand Hotel for me. It's urgent!"
Without even replying, Lucy immediately started searching for him and soon sent a string of numbers to his phone.
"It's me. I need you to do something for me. Get all the surveillance footage from your hotels and find someone for me."
There was a chuckle from the other end. "Is that so, Mister Sherman? Are you looking for your wife?"
"I don't have time for jokes. If something happens to her in your hotel, don't blame me for ruining your life!"
Sherman's voice was like a spell, causing the person on the other end to adopt a serious tone. "What happened?"
Sherman could hear him ordering his subordinates to pull up the surveillance footage. "You know my hotels are scattered all over. Finding someone is like finding a needle in a haystack."
"Focus on the areas near Parr Group and Moonlight Bay first." As Sherman gave instructions, he grabbed his car keys and quickly left the office.

2821/2823 Meanwhile, Rita had lost consciousness. What she did not know was that after she lost consciousness, someone had dragged her into Room A414.
A woman wearing oversized sunglasses, almost covering half of her face, said, "I've already wired the money to you. You should know what to do, right?"
The thug smirked across at her. "Of course. I'll make sure you're satisfied with the result."
The thug had never had such a stroke of luck before. He had been shown a photo of the woman beforehand, never imagining that such good fortune would come his way one day.
"Get going, then," said the woman. The man's gaze clung to her like a snake, and it made her skin crawl.
"Feel free to call me again if you need anything. I'll be at your service, no payment required."
He chuckled as he looked at the woman before him, whose upkeep was still impeccable despite her age. It was no wonder she could keep her husband so tightly wrapped around her finger.
Karen clenched her fists. His demeanor, gaze, and actions reminded her of everything she had, endured in those rundown alleys?
years ago. However, she was no longer the meek woman she once was.
"You better get as far away from me as possible. Crushing you is easier than squashing an ant."
Karen's nonchalant smile startled the thug. He looked as if he had snapped out of a daze. After that, he awkwardly muttered an apology.
He had momentarily forgotten who was backing up Karen in the midst of negotiating with her. There existed a vast difference in their status.
The Day I Kissed An Older Man Chapter 2822-Sherman's guess proved correct as he received a call from his friend while on the way. Rita was indeed at Golden Sand Hotel near his company.
"Quick, tell me which floor she's on?"
"She's in Room A414! Hurry up and get there," said his friend seriously.
"When I saw her in the hotel corridor, she seemed dazed and confused.
Something's not right. She looks like she's been drugged, and…"
He stopped himself mid-sentence.
The air around Sherman was tense. "Thanks. I'll properly thank you after this is over."
"Hey, no need for that. What's important now is to make sure she's safe. Don't worry, I've already informed the hotel staff. Let's hope… Let's hope it's not too late. I wonder who's so brazen to do such despicable things in my hotel…"
Sherman did not have the luxury to listen to his friend's complaint. He quickly hung up the phone, pushing the gas pedal as he headed straight for the hotel.
Fortunately, it was not too far.
Meanwhile, the hotel staff were bustling up and down, responding to the emergency. They only knew that something extremely serious had happened Home Categories Search…
2822/2823 in Room A414. Their company president had issued the most severe orders, and they had to get there quickly.
"What on earth happened? I've been working here for years, and I've never received a level-one directive before." The hotel staff exchanged information as they ran.
"I have no idea, but the company president seems really angry. Well, there's no point in speculating now. The most important thing is to get there quickly."
The thug sauntered down the hotel corridor, tossing the room keycard in his hand. The surrounding staff were all in a hurry, and he suddenly felt something was amiss. Karen had paid him a lot of money to complete the task. Moreover, lying in that room was a beautiful woman, which was a bonus to him.
However, as soon as he approached Room A414, he was immediately spotted. The staff had not received instructions yet, but everyone was stationed at the door, so it was easy to notice the thug.
"Who are you? What business do you have in this room?" asked one of the staff.
The thug immediately straightened up and cleared his throat. "Ahem! What business could I have? My girlfriend is sleeping in this room. This is my room keycard, so why can't I go in?"
The staff exchanged glances with each other. Since it was indeed a keycard issued by their hotel, he must be their guest. They immediately changed their demeanor.
'Oh, so you're a guest. Sorry about that. There's been a bit of an incident at the hotel, and for the.
sake of everyone's safety, we're being extra cautious with our checks. We hope you understand."
The Day I Kissed An Older Man Chapter 2823-"Is the person inside okay?" Sherman asked hoarsely.
The two staff members who were guarding the door exchanged terrified glances. "A man claimed to be the boyfriend of the person inside the room, so he was let in. We didn't know that the person inside was someone you knew!"
Sherman immediately panicked. "Quick, open the door!"
"Huh? Oh, okay!"
The staff carried the hotel's access card with them at all times. As the door opened, Sherman suddenly remembered something. He gestured for the other staff members to step back a few steps to ensure that the scene inside the room would not be seen by anyone else before he entered.
His heart was pounding as he stepped inside. It was not until he saw a thin man lying on the floor clutching his abdomen and Rita holding a shard of broken glass in her hand, blood dripping from her palm, that he felt a rush of relief. He had arrived just in time.
He quickly approached and covered Rita's body with a blanket, then carefully held her wrist. Rita, still dazed, felt someone touching her and began to struggle frantically. Unfortunately, she had lost too much strength. Tears of helplessness streamed from her eyes.

2823/2823 "It's me, Sherman. Don't be afraid, you're safe now," Sherman reassured her.
Rita only remembered hearing a familiar voice, a voice she could trust.
Slowly, her grip loosened.
Sherman looked at the injured Rita, and his heart ached. He could not bear to think what would have happened if he had arrived a moment later.
The thug on the floor groaned in pain as Sherman carefully wrapped Rita's wrist with a towel.
Not giving up, the thug stood up and cursed at Sherman. "Who the hell are you? Don't you know that bad guys will get their comeuppance ? This is my girlfriend! What do you think you're doing? You better watch out I'll get someone to teach you a lesson!"
Seeing Sherman approaching him with a dark expression, the thug stepped back under his intimidating presence. That crazy woman had stabbed him with a shard, and he had no idea if the wound was serious.
"What do you want? There are staff outside. One shout from me, and they'll all come rushing in." He tried to threaten Sherman arrogantly, but Sherman did not give him the chance.
With one swift kick, he sent him flying several yards, and he crashed heavily to the ground. He then passed out, and the room fell silent.
Sherman's chest heaved heavily as he looked down at the thug who had collapsed on the ground. His 100 emotions were extremely unstable at this moment. He would not have easily let the thug off the hook If it were not for Rita still lying on the bed.
Rita—especially her honor—was his priority, after all.
After a moment of contemplation, he finally decided to dismiss the staff outside. The fewer people who knew about the day's events, the better.
The Day I Kissed An Older Man Chapter 2824-Sherman heard Karen's voice. He had just managed to lay Rita back on the bed when the door swung open. He did not even have the time to pull a blanket over her.
"Don't be too harsh on her. Who knows, maybe Rita has fallen in love. I believe she's still innocent. You shouldn't believe rumors and doubt your own child," said Karen nicely as if she was deeply concerned about Rita.
Meanwhile, Vince looked downright tense. He refused to believe that his daughter was not virtuous. However, when those people presented all the photos to him, he began to waver.
'Have I been too strict on Rita? Is that why she's rebelling like this? Oh, how am I going to face her mother when I see her again?' thought Vince, who had remained silent throughout the journey.
However, upon opening the door, they were greeted by an unexpected sight.
Karen's expression immediately turned sour.
"You? What are you doing here?" Vince asked, noticing Rita lying behind him.
Even though he was Rita's biological father, he knew he had to be cautious at that moment. He promptly pulled Karen out of the room.
"Get yourselves sorted out before you come out again!"
This was Vince's first time displaying his senior authority in front of Sherman.
Sherman frowned as he looked at Rita still unconscious on the bed. He needed to get her to the hospital quickly. He pondered how he could swiftly resolve this matter, especially with Karen's incessant chatter.
He could easily guess who called Rita to the hotel. 'What a vile woman! I can't believe she tried to destroy Rita with such despicable means! Poor Rita would've needlessly suffered if I hadn’t arrived in time!' Karen never imagined she would see Sherman in the room. She frowned with mixed emotions. She thought the thug was trying to extort more money from her when he did not send her the photos. Thus, after some contemplation, she decided to bring Sadie and Vince to the hotel room to catch Rita red-handed on the spot. After all, would that not be more thrilling than just looking at the photos? She just never expected to find Sherman behind that door.
'What went wrong in between? And where is that thug? Shouldn't he be here, naked and in bed with Rita? What exactly happened?' Sadie's chest heaved incessantly as she glared at the door. She could not believe Rita was involved with Sherman.
Isn't she always focused on her career? Why did she suddenly set her K sights on an outstanding man? I saw him first! Why does this shameless woman always have to steal what's mine ?!
Rita continued to sleep soundly, oblivious to the chaos outside. Once CO Sherman made sureher hand was not bleeding anymore, he smoothed out the wrinkles in his suit and carefully closed the door behind him.
Vince's face turned even darker when he saw Sherman come out alone.
'Where's my daughter? I hope you can give me a good explanation of what's going on." Every word was spoken with conviction ; this was a father's anger. At that moment he was not a company president but Rita's father instead.
The Day I Kissed An Older Man Chapter 2825-Sherman nodded slightly to express his apology. "Mister Vince, can we talk somewhere else? I'd like to keep things between the two of us."
Karen interjected anxiously, "Mister Sherman, I don't think that's appropriate. I…
I'm Rita's mother, and I believe I should have the right to know some things. I want to know when you and Rita got together. Since you two are together, why didn't you tell us? How can you be so irresponsible―?"
"Mom, can you please shut up? How can you assume they're together just because they were in the same room?" interjected Sadie heatedly.
"Can you let Sherman finish speaking before you ask? Ugh, you can be so annoying sometimes!"
Sherman frowned subconsciously at Sadie's address, but what mattered then was explaining to Vince what had happened.
"That's enough. I'll ask him all the questions. You and Sadie wait here."
Vince strode ahead toward the end of the hotel corridor, with Sherman following closely behind.
"So, how do you plan to explain this?" Vince's face was livid. Of course, anyone would be upset seeing their daughter lying in bed with another man, especially after hearing numerous rumors about her before this.
"Mister Vince, I believe there's been a misunderstanding," Sherman said calmly.
"A misunderstanding? How can it be a misunderstanding when I found you lying in bed with my daughter? Or perhaps this is all just normal to you, so you think you can play around with my daughter too? Well, let me make myself clear, even though I'm in a weaker position now, and my business is not making as much money as yours, nor is my family as wealthy as yours, I'm still her father!
And as her father, if I feel like she has been wronged, I'll spare no effort to seek justice for her. Even if it means risking everything.
"Mister Sherman, you shouldn't underestimate just how much a father would be willing to sacrifice for his daughter."
Sherman felt a sense of relief upon hearing Vince's firm resolve. What he feared most was not being misunderstood, but Vince's refusal to believe him or seek justice for Rita if he told him Rita was the victim in all of this. Thus, he decided to tell him everything that had happened.
'There indeed has been a misunderstanding. Both Rita and |
are innocent. She was fully clothed and lying on the bed However Om there's something I hope you understand, Mister Vince. Rita wasn't in a state to see you because she was drugged and still unconscious when you arrived. I was about to take her to the hospital before you showed up so timely at the door.
'I didn't get a chance to explain before your wife accused me. Mister Vince, you're a smart man, so Om believe you can figure out what happened here. If you truly care about your daughter, I suggest you look into the women around you.'
Vince's face turned ashen. He could not believe what he was hearing from Sherman. "So, you're saying you and my daughter are innocent and you have no feelings for her?"
Sherman remained silent for a moment before nodding. "That's correct. I came here today because I'm her friend . This was all an accident, I hope you won't misunderstand. If possible , please take Rita to the hospital as soon as you can. We don't know what she was drugged with, and I'm not sure if she can hold out that much longer.'
The Day I Kissed An Older Man Chapter 2826-Vince nodded grimly. "I know you're not one to lie, Mister Sherman. However, I'm not going to let it slide if I find out that any part of what you said today is untrue."
Sherman nodded as well. "I understand."
The two men exchanged words that Karen could not hear as she anxiously paced outside Rita's door.
"Mom, have you lost your mind? Why would you even think of sending Sherman to Rita's room? Are you crazy? You know perfectly well that I have feelings for him. Why would you let that despicable woman have this chance? Is it because you're addicted to being a good stepmother? Have you really started to see
yourself as that woman's mother? What are you even thinking?" Sadie asked Karen hysterically. She was on the verge of a nervous breakdown. The thought of the man she liked having been intimate with the woman she despised made her want to burst into the room and slash Rita with a knife. However, she could only stand outside the door, unable to do anything.
"Do you think I've lost my mind? How could I possibly let Rita have Sherman? I sent a thug in, not him!" Karen whispered vehemently to Sadie.
"Are you going to abandon me for a man? Do you have any idea how hurtful your words are? There must've been a mistake somewhere in all of this, which I haven't figured out yet. But you come here and berate me right away. For a man! You really are something, Sadie. All the years I've invested in you seem to have been in vain. You don't care about me, your mother, at all!"
"What's the use of me caring about you? You always mess everything up. You clearly drugged that woman, so how was it possible for her to come away unharmed? Not to mention, it wasn't even the thug in the room but Sherman!
What were you thinking? You should just let me handle her if you can't do it.
Why do you always try to handle everything on your own?" Sadie cried out in frustration, covering her head. Ever since Esmond's name was brought up last time, her mother had been acting strangely. Sadie had some suspicions but did not dare to confirm them. She knew that there would be no going back once certain things were known, and she was content with the status quo. She wanted to continue being the carefree Miss Sadie Russell. She absolutely did not want to go back to the days of uncertainty.
Just as Karen was about to defend herself, Vince and Sherman returned. Her expression immediately changed back to concern for Rita.
"What happened? What's going on? Are you truly dating Rita? Mister Sherman, I don't mean to take on a parental attitude, but your actions were somewhat reckless. How could you not inform her parents and just take her to a hotel room? If this gets out, what will become of our daughter's reputation?"
Hearing Karen's increasingly absurd words, Vince immediately rebuked her, "Go back home if you're only going to keep talking nonsense like this."
"Missus Russell, I believe you better than me what happened today," said Sherman with a cold smirk. His proper upbringing refrained him from being more direct than that.
'Does she really think her acting can fool me? One would think she's a good stepmother,' he thought.
Sadie quickly tried to explain,
Sherman, please don't be angry. My mother has been acting strange lately, and she's a bit confused Maybe it's menopause. She's just worried about my sister. After all, her reputation will be affected if words get out that she was found in a hotel room with you. It'll be fine if you and her are dating, but if not …
Sadie blinked at Sherman, hoping to hear a denial from him.
However, Sherman arrogantly lifted his chin and replied, "What does it"
matter to you whether we are or not?
Sadie's smile stiffened. "I didn't mean to pry … … I was just worried about my sister."
The Day I Kissed An Older Man Chapter 2827-Vince's face darkened. "That's enough! Just keep your mouth shut. This matter has nothing to do with Sherman. I'll kick anyone out if anyone dares to speak of today's events, so don't say I didn't warn you." Karen acted like she did not understand what Vince was saying.
"Vince, what do you mean? We're family, aren't we? There's no way we'll tell anyone about this. Plus, we still don't understand what happened!" Though Karen was sweating bullets, she remained stubborn in confronting Vince. She knew she could not back down, or Vince would surely suspect her involvement.
Even Sadie chimed in to support her mother. "Dad, you're being too harsh. Are you really going to disregard all the years we've been a family? Your words really hurt me, you know?"
Both women began to tear up, and with Rita still unconscious in the room, Vince's head started to hurt. "That's enough, let's not embarrass ourselves any further. Save it for when we get home."
Seeing Vince's hesitation, Sherman grew even more worried for Rita. He feared that what he had said to him before might end up being in vain.
Though concerned for Rita, Vince felt compelled to compromise once again if it meant avoiding a confrontation with Karen and Sadie.
Sherman spoke up reluctantly, "Mister Vince, if it's inconvenient for you, I can take Rita to the hospital. She's still unconscious, and we can't afford any further delay."
Vince's expression soured. "This is our family matter. There's no need for your involvement, Mister Sherman."
Sadie quickly chimed in, "My dad's right, Sherman. Even though you and my sister are good friends, considering her current condition, it might not reflect well on your reputation if you accompany her to the hospital. Besides, my mother and I can take care of her too, so it's better if you don't get involved."
Sherman might have mistaken their concern for Rita's well-being as genuine if he had not met Rita before Sadie. 'Seems like they're more afraid of this matter not being leaked. It was all a trap set by Karen after all.'
As the mother and daughter continued their theatrics, it was clear they Underestimated Sherman.
Vince had no choice but to comfort Karen, who was crying with her face covered. "I miss poke earlier out of frustration. Please don't be mad at me. After all these years together, don't you know my temper?"
The Day I Kissed An Older Man Chapter 2828-"It's not like you don't know how much I've sacrificed for this family. And yet, you're blaming everything on me even though it's Rita's fault for getting herself into this situation. I know my last name isn't Russell, but haven't I done enough to be considered part of your family?"
Vince embraced Karen and patted her back. "Alright, I shouldn't have been so harsh. I didn't mean what I said. I was just very worried about Rita. But can you stop making a fuss for my sake since there's an outsider here?"
Karen finally stopped crying after that, but her lips were pale, making her look weak.
"You don't look too well. You should get yourself checked too when we send Rita to the hospital." Vince then turned to his stepdaughter. "Sadie, come help your mother." However, Vince did not expect Sadie's attention to be fully focused on Sherman. She was watching him intently as if she was afraid to miss any of his expressions. Sherman noticed her gaze but chose not to engage with her.
Sadie's stare made him uncomfortable.
Seeing this, Vince understood Sadie's intentions very well. 'So that's why she came to Sherman's defense. Pity that she doesn't see that he doesn't care about her at all.' Throughout the whole ordeal, Sherman did not even spare a single glance at Sadie.
Vince started to look down on his stepdaughter. 'She can't even compare to my daughter, not even by a finger.' Vince became anxious. "Enough wasting time here. We need to quickly take Rita to the hospital. I'm going to make whoever did this to her pay if anything happens to her!"
After making the threatening remarks, Vince hurriedly arranged for Rita to be taken to the hospital, though Sherman intervened briefly to prevent other men from entering. What if someone said something inappropriate and it got out, harming Rita?
It seemed Vince only then noticed Sherman was still present.
"Mister Sherman, I think you should leave now. This is ultimately our family affair. Although you're Rita's good friend, your relationship is only that of friends.
It might lead to gossip if others catch you here," said Vince firmly.
Seeing Vince's determination, Sherman had no choice but to leave. He did not understand why Vince was so fickle.
Initially, Vince seemed determined to stand up for Rita, but as soon as Karen and Sadie shed a few tears, he immediately lost his determination.
'It doesn't take much to figure out that those two women have something to do with this. How could he have believed their lies? Does he really think Rita likes to play around?' thought Sherman. Nevertheless, it was ultimately a family matter, and he had no right to interfere too much on Rita's behalf.
Karen sighed in relief as she watched Sherman leave, but she quickly sensed her husband staring at her and her daughter with a hostile gaze.
'I wonder what tricks that little vixen had used to manipulate Sherman into siding with her,' thought Karen.
When Sadie had shown interest in Sherman, Karen had also thought they were a good match. She would be his mother-in-law if Sadie married him, which would only add to her prestige. Thus, it was unfortunate that Sherman had fallen under Rita's spell.
After Rita was taken to the hospital and examined, the doctor confirmed that she had been drugged with a small amount of sedatives, but there werend seri serious side effects. Only then did Vince relax. Sitting by Rita's bedside, he looked deeply concerned.
Karen, noticing his distress, tried to show some thoughtfulness by suggesting he take a break and get something to eat.
She gently placed a hand on Vince's shoulder. "Darling, you've been here for a long time: Why don't you take a break and get something to eat? Il look after her while you're gone.
Besides, you sitting here isn't going to make her wake up any faster."
However, Vince did not respond as he normally would to Karen's gentle voice.
The Day I Kissed An Older Man Chapter 2829-"Karen, be honest with me. Are you involved in what happened today?" asked Vince.
Karen's hand on his shoulder tensed momentarily. She was about to pull her hands back when he grabbed it.
She forced a smile and asked, "What do you mean by that? Haven't I explained everything to you? Why are you asking me this again?"
Vince stared at her sternly, refusing to let any of her expressions get past him.
"Rita is my daughter, so no one knows her better than me. She'd never do something like this. Even if she likes having fun, she wouldn't joke about her health like this. Especially considering the presence of sleeping pills detected in
her system by the doctor. As far as I know, Rita has no trouble sleeping, so where did these sleeping pills come from?"
Karen withdrew her hand, feigning anger. "So you're saying I'm lying to you?
Rita's so perfect, and it's never her fault, so I must be the one who drugged her.
Do you know how many years she's been living away from us? You have no idea what she's like outside because she always puts up an act in front of you.
You always refuse to believe me. How can you still not know what kind of person I am after being married to me for so long?"
Vince replied meaningfully, "It's precisely because we've been married for so long that I know what kind of person you are. I just want a straight answer from you. Are you or are you not involved in this matter? won't bring it up again if you tell me it has nothing to do with you, but if I find out you're somehow connected to it…
"Karen, just remember this: Rita is my daughter, and I absolutely will not allow anyone to hurt her!"
Karen covered her mouth, tears streaming down her face. "You really are something, Vince. After all these years of sacrifice, I still can't earn your trust.
Huh, I guess I only have myself to blame for misjudging you! I should've known that you don't see me as your wife but as a maid for you and your daughter! You only married me in the first place to give Rita a mother, didn't you?"
Vince frowned. "Do you really have to go that far? I just want to know if this has anything to do with you. If it has nothing to do with you, can you tell me where you were at that time?"
"You still don't know where I was? I was at the hospital. Even Sadie knew that I hadn't been feeling well lately and offered to go with me for a check-up.
Otherwise, why did she come along with me to find you?"
Karen stomped as if blaming him for not caring about her at all.
She did seem like she had been com feeling unwell lately, thought Vince.
Karen had been feeling drowsy all the time and unable to eat properly.
Vince suspected it might be a stomach issue. He had agreed to take her to the hospital for a check-up, but it got delayed due to various reasons.
Vince felt a pang of guilt. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have been so suspicious.
Why didn't you just tell me this earlier?"
The Day I Kissed An Older Man Chapter 2830-"If I knew you were at the hospital, I wouldn't have asked you to come with me.
What happened to Rita isn't something to brag about, so there's no need for so many people to know," said Vince.
Karen turned away, visibly upset. She silently wiped away her tears. "Would you believe me if I had told you that earlier? It's such a simple matter that could be easily verified, yet you insist on me explaining it over and over again. In the end, you still don't trust me.
"Deep down in your heart, no one can compare to your daughter. Yes, I know this is a family matter, so how could I interfere? But you also should know that I've been her stepmother for so many years. Don't I have the right to care about her, too? If you can't even grant me this right, then I have nothing more to say."
"That's enough. I've never said such things. I know you're only saying all these out of anger, but it was a shock to me when I saw Rita looking all disheveled in a hotel room with a man. So can't you understand where I'm coming from?
Sigh… I've been under a lot of pressure since her mother passed away. I was afraid of not being able to raise her properly, and I never thought something like this would happen when she became an adult."
Karen immediately adopted a compassionate expression and smoothed out the creases on his forehead. "I know how difficult it's been for you, and I understand why you married me. But now that I'm your wife I don't want you to be troubled by these things anymore. Rita is an adult after all, and whatever she does is her own choice. As parents, we can watch over her, but we can't interfere with her decisions. Do you understand? You need to learn to let go."
Vince nodded thoughtfully. "I understand, but how can parents ever easily let go? Besides, Rita is different from others. She lost her mother at a very young age. You suggested earlier that she should settle down as soon as possible, but I think we should give her another two years to stay by my side a little longer."
Karen immediately became anxious.
She composed herself before advising, "Darling, forgive me for saying this, but you always seem to consider things from a man's perspective. Have you ever considered that Rita may not want to stay at home for so long? She moved out a long time ago and is a very independent person. You can't just keep her at home based on your own wishes. In my opinion, it would be better to help her find a suitable partner as soon as possible and settle down. Of course, this is just my opinion. I have no objections if you really want to keep her by your side."
Vince was easily swayed, and with Karen's persuasion, he began to wonder if he should consider Rita's opinion as well. A part of him was actually relieved to see Sherman and Rita together. After all, it would not be so bad if Rita could marry Sherman. The Russell family's business would surely prosper if they could cozy up to the Parr family.
However, Sherman's denial came as a surprise, which fueled Vince's subsequent anger. He took it to mean that Sherman did not regard his family highly at all. "It'd be great if Rita really ends up with Sherman," said Vince with a sigh.
To this, Karen became nervous. "But they've already said they're just om friends. Do you still want to force them together? Young people nowadays value freedom in relationships."
Vince gave her a faint glance, fully aware of her hidden intentions She wanted to secure Sherman for Sadie, but did she even consider whether Sherman would be interested in her?
He believed that there was a slight possibility for Rita to end up with Sherman since his earlier panic fom act. With her did not seem like an ac these thoughts in mind, Vince began to form a vague plan. As Rita's father, he had to help her no matter what, and Sherman seemed like the best choice for her.
