The two then bought flour from the supermarket. Alex had initially bought more than they needed, so he just took all their stock from one brand from the shelves. He even bought some other things that weren’t included in the shopping list.
When paying, Alex noticed that a few faint divine consciousnesses were watching him. They were hiding, as though scared Alex might notice them. However, Alex’s mental powers were quite strong. He was sensitive to an average person’s gaze, let alone something that had locked onto him.
He decided to ignore it, for now, grabbing Beatrice’s hands and leaving right after they paid.
The girl was surprised. It was the first time Alex had held her hand voluntarily.

Being in her early twenties, Beatrice would fantasize about her one true love. It would be a charming prince who loved her wholeheartedly. She despised playboys the most, viewing them as absolute b*stards.

‘You jerk! You heartless jerk! I don’t want to see you ever again!’ she cried in her heart, running far away. Suddenly, she bumped into someone. It was Alex.
Using Instant Teleportation, he blocked her path. “What are you doing?” Alex asked, narrowing his eyes.
“I… Didn’t you tell me to get lost? Do you want me to crawl or something?” Beatrice started tearing up.
“Did I?”
“Don’t try to talk your way out of this…”
Before she could even finish her sentence, Alex embraced her tightly and ran miles away.
Beatrice couldn’t adapt to his erratic change in attitude.
“What are you trying to do? You told me to get lost, then hugged me for no reason. I’m not your toy, I…” She was once again frozen in place as three people rushed over towards them. They were all wearing dog masks, so they were obviously up to no good.
‘Wait, so I misunderstood?!’

The masked person turned out to be a woman.
Beatrice opened her mouth slightly, but she glanced at Alex and dared not yell at them anymore.
“Sure, we should be decent to friends, but I don’t think our decency extends to our enemies. Yelling is a gracious gesture. I prefer killing, to be honest.” Alex said.
He then continued. “You people have been following us for quite a while. So tell me, what do you want?”
The first person spoke up again. “You have misunderstood us, Mr. Rockefeller, we are not your foes. We are very impressed that you were willing to share your Divine martial arts with the public too!”
“We came here to invite you to join our organization, the Supreme Protectors, as you have met our requirements.”
Alex raised an eyebrow. ‘Met your requirements? You’re making it sound like you need to assess my powers and see if I’m strong enough to join.’
“I don’t care what organization you are from, I’m simply not interested. Don’t follow me anymore. Goodbye.” Alex rejected their offer straight to their faces.
“Mr. Rockefeller, aren’t you being a little too rash here? You don’t even know anything about our organization, yet you just refused us without hesitation!” the woman stressed.
Alex chuckled coldly. “I said I’m not interested. Are you going to make me join by force? What is this? Some Ponzi scheme?”
The woman replied. “You said it yourself just now that a strong otherworldly being will come to Earth and pose a threat. We Supreme Protectors aim to protect the Earth. Since you’re a Supreme yourself, you should lend a hand. Join us, and you will be able to use your powers to their maximum potential.”
“I told you… I’m not interested!” Alex said and embraced Beatrice, immediately leaving.
‘What kind of Supreme Protectors? Are they like that bull hom guy? What can they even do?’
However, he was stopped once again.
One of the three spoke up again. “If you insist on not joining our organization, Mr. Rockefeller, we won’t try to convince you any further.”
“But I hope you can hand us the complete version of Ksitigarbha’s Ten Wheels Earth Incantation and the Requiem Clock. These are treasures of our planet, so if you refuse to help protect it, you should hand it to those who will.”

Alex was very disgusted by their words. He felt as though he had just swallowed a fly while eating. Beatrice, too was furious. “Hand it over to you? How shameless can you be? The woman replied, “We Protectors are an ancient, traditional, legitimate organization. Our president is a person of status and background too.”

The woman was enraged. “I’ll have you know that those who insult the president are sentenced to death. Since this is your first time making such a mistake, you just have to slap yourself ten times.”

Beatrice abruptly attacked, slapping the woman across the face repeatedly. She was so harsh that the woman’s dog mask broke, only to reveal a horrendous face of a beast.
Her face was filled with fur, along with a few spots here and there. The woman didn’t look human but more of a leopard demon.
Beatrice herself was stunned. She didn’t expect that she could slap the arrogant woman so many times, which indicated that the woman couldn’t dodge at all. This proved that these people didn’t deserve to handle the incantation or their treasures. She was also very disgusted by the woman’s peculiar appearance.
‘This damn woman isn’t even human! Yet she has the nerve to say all that to me!’
“Ah, so you’re just some monster. Who gave you the nerve to try and trick us?” Beatrice confidently gloated upon her successful attack. Hence, she decided to fight the woman head-on.
She had never been quite sure about her own strength, especially since she’d never fought anyone before. Evert though Dorothy had refined her cultivation skills, she just took care of the kids as usual. In reality, however, she had achieved Advanced Nascent Soul long ago.

Beatrice kicked the woman into the air. She fell to the ground harshly, unable to get back up to her feet.
“Haha, is this really all you’ve got? Yet here you are, fibbing like some big shot. If you can’t even defeat me, you should go back to your president like the good little lapdog you are.”
The woman struggled. With bloodshot eyes, she gritted her teeth while baring her two long fangs. A leopard’s tail even slipped out of her clothes, erect, while she glared at Beatrice angrily with twisted expressions.
Beatrice furrowed her eyebrows. “So you really are a leopard demon?”
Alex relied. “She’s not, she just awakened the leopard bloodline in her. I’m guessing one of her ancestors used to be a leopard.”
“But since such bloodline awakenings are impure, they’re slightly stronger than the average person. Otherwise, they’d be useless, unable even to maintain their human form, so that says a lot about such people.”
He then turned to look at the other two masked people. As he didn’t even need to use his X-ray vision to see their faces, the masks were nothing to him.
“If the organization is filled with people like you, I think you should just disband.”
“Today is supposed to be a nice day, so I don’t want to kill. Just go back and tell your president to stop bothering me. You’ll have to face the consequences if you make me angry.”
He then gestured towards Beatrice and was prepared to leave.
However, one of the men didn’t want to give up. “Joy is one of our new recruits, so her powers do not define the strength of our organization. Mr. Rockefeller, you can come with us and meet the president yourself. You’d realize how strong we are by then.”
“Also, the president mentioned that he would assign you as a guardian if you’re willing to join. Your position would be second only to the president.”
Alex was getting annoyed. “Tell him… To f*ck off!”

“Even the Flying Eagles were no match for him, do you think all these were just rumors? How could we possibly take him on when we only awakened such weak powers? It’s all but wishful thinking!”
On the other hand, Joy was enraged. “But how is his sister-in-law this strong too?”
The man replied, “Stop talking about that sister-in-law. Just look at what you’ve done! The president told us to be nice and invite Rockefeller to meet up with him. Now, it appears we’ve messed it all up! If Alex were to attack the organization for this, we’d be in big trouble.”
“What do we do now? Should we inform the president about this?”
“Do you really think the president is that gentle and forgiving? He might even eat us alive!”
