Claudia became speechless. ‘I owe him now? Just like that?’
Despite that, she couldn’t deny that he did indeed save her life.
The others were still in the dark, so Claudia said, “Something’s weird about that tunnel. It’s very dangerous. I was almost sucked in by some sort of force.”
Xerxes opened his mouth to speak, but he couldn’t. ‘To think that I thought of barging in just now…’
Alex took out two paper dolls and dropped two drops of blood on them. With a snap of his fingers, the two paper dolls immediately turned into humans. Not only did they look like they had flesh and blood, but they were also somewhat good-looking as well.
After that, both of the dolls sprinted toward the tunnel.

‘But… Who could it be?’
“Is it the Undead?” Xerxes asked.
The presence of the Undead wasn’t a secret to him. As the Flying Eagles Academy principal, he’d even been in contact with them.
“It’s a human!” Alex answered, no longer holding back his attacks.
Constantly changing marks appeared on both of Alex’s palms. Golden rays surrounded his body, while Buddhist symbols levitated around him and mantras were chanted. A realistic golden apparition of him appeared.
“Ksitigarbha’s Ten Wheels Earth Incantation, Heavenly Nirvana Seal!”
This was a new incantation that Alex had recently practiced in the Golden Holy Space recently. It was the last few spells of Ksitigarbha’s Ten Wheels Earth Incantation, which were very powerful.
Whoosh!
As Alex attacked, heaven and earth felt like they were falling apart. The grounds near the tunnel immediately ruptured, enlarging the cavity dozens of times. White mist surfaced from underground, and the defenses of divine sanctuary let out a loud explosion from the attack.
As the Heavenly Nirvana Seal had confining powers, Alex captured a woman from the tunnel with a clap of his palms.
Initially attacking Claudia, the orange blades suddenly spun around and headed straight for the back of Alex’s heart.
“Careful, Alex!” Luna screamed. In the face of these deadly blades, her Sky-Devil Zither was of no use.
Alex huffed coldly before quickly moving the woman in his hands toward the wind blade.
Pshh…
The blade hit, and the woman let out a painful shriek, dying on the spot.
Alex threw the body to the ground, looked at the retreating blade, and then looked at the woman’s face. He found her unfamiliar since she was indeed a complete stranger. Looking at her attire, she definitely wasn’t from Earth.
“Who is she?”
“Why is she in the tunnel?”
Luna couldn’t wrap her head around things, she just had a feeling that something was wrong. Her parents might be in danger since they were still stuck in the tunnel. She hadn’t been too worried before, but she was now visibly panicking.
“Argh..!”
Within the tunnel, a furious scream could be heard. There was someone else in there.
First, a sea of blue bugs flew out. Like streams of mysterious blue mist, they were exceptionally charming. Despite this, Alex’s eyes shuddered. He had immediately sensed danger after taking a mere look at these insects.
It was written in the Ultimate Book of Medicine that this was an ancient poisonous bug. Far more murderous than parasitic diseases, no one could survive even a bite, as their entire body would dissolve into pus. It was truly a miserable death.
‘To think that the person in the tunnel had such poison, they are definitely up to no good.’
“Careful, don’t get bitten by those bugs. Once you’re bitten, there’s no cure.”
“Great Mighty Divine Palm! Kill them!” Alex roared while divine power streamed out. A golden Buddha’s palm the size of a hill came crashing down.

The Pinnacle of Life Chapter 2779
The skies turned dark as the palm crushed the sea of bugs to death. The ones who managed to escape started buzzing around in chaos.
However, Luna and the others weren’t weaklings. They worked together, surrounded the remaining bugs, and killed them all.
Whoosh!
Right then, the wind blade appeared again, heading straight for Alex. This time, Alex grunted and stood still. He secretly summoned the Chaos Tree, surfacing its roots like chains from hell and trapping the blades.
On the other hand, one thicker root went into the tunnel.
The root drew out a vintage wooden box with a twist and a pull. On the box were the carvings of the moon, the sun, and a single-footed divine bird. This was a sheath , made to hold wind blades especially. It was a mighty treasure.
Claudia almost died at the hands of it.
“Arghh!”
A furious cry came from the tunnel, and then a shadow zoomed out from there. It wore some weird black armor. It was a green-eyed man in his thirties.
He glared at Alex, especially the blade in his hands. “Who are you guys? Which world did you come from? We and the Lunula sect have taken over this place. You have no right to be here. Leave immediately, and give me back my sheath! Or you’ll be considered at war with our sect.”
This man spoke the common language of the ancient universe.
Alex could tell simply by listening that this man wasn’t from Earth. He was clearly an outsider. Just as he had thought, people of other planets had come here long ago and had started their search for the grand opportunity on Earth…
However, he hadn’t expected this sect to find its way to the same place as them.
“Lunula? Bullshit, how are you all here? When did you arrive, and how many people are here?” Xerxes was anxious. The situation wasn’t right.
The man looked across the group suspiciously. “You guys don’t even know who we are, how out of touch.”
Xerxes rushed forward and attacked immediately.
The man could pass through the barriers of Earth, which meant he wasn’t that powerful now. With his sheath taken away by Alex, he was even weaker now. With just a few hits, Xerxes had beaten the man till he spewed blood.
Xerxes stepped on the man’s neck with his foot. “F*ck you! Boasting about how strong you are… Where did scum like you find the courage to look for trouble here on our Earth? Do you have a death wish? Speak up! How many of you are there, and where are they?”
The man was stunned. “You… Are natives?”
“Natives, my ass!” Xerxes was furious and started cursing him out. Suddenly with a crack, he broke the man’s shoulder.
Many might not know, but the Principal Lewin of the Flying Eagles academy had come from the countryside. Working even before graduating high school, he started by selling aphrodisiac wine in his town, and that was when he came in contact with some rough people.
As a result of the encounters, he learned how to spew cusses easily. People usually couldn’t win in an argument with him too. Now that he was so anxious, he didn’t care about his image as a principal.
The man was crazy with pain, but he was still surprised. “A bunch of natives of this wasteland has such strong powers?”
Xerxes sent out three hard slaps. “I’m the one asking the questions, not you. Spit it out, or you’ll die.”
The man was in no mood to let things go quickly. He glared fiercely. “Wasteland natives have no right to ask me questions. Our Lunula is one of the most important sects in the universe. Since the best of our sect are all here, so be prepared to die!”
“No one will save you. All weaklings of this land are going to die painfully because of you.”
Pshhh…
Alex just threw the Heaven Flipping Seal at the man’s head, killing him with one shot. With a wave of his hand, he dragged the soul of the dead out and searched his soul.
Alex’s face turned grim in a second. “He’s right. The people of the sect are here, just inside. We can’t afford to waste any more time.”
According to the man’s memories, Alex found out that the elites of the Lunula sect were right outside Earth’s barriers. The ones who’d entered were a troop of weaker men. It was done so that the formation wouldn’t be triggered and murder them as they entered Earth.
Right when they entered, they saw the tide of spiritual energy overflow. Thus, they targeted Mount Sota and came to find the grand opportunity.
At the same time, Luna had just escaped from the tunnel.
Consequently, the Lunula sect sensed the spiritual energy coming from the tunnel and followed their way here. There were quite a number of people and among them were experts…
On the contrary, the man was considered one of the weakest, so he was in charge of guarding the entrance.
The Pinnacle of Life Chapter 2780
The sanctuary was on the other side of the tunnel, like a hidden paradise. Unlike the dark night outside, sparkling light as bright as a full moon would appear as you entered the tunnel.
Even a ray of light the size of a grain was enough to provide clear vision within a dark area for cultivators. Hence, this vast light source was as bright as a sunny day to them.
“Careful, this sect is no easy opponent. I feel like something’s up!” Alex reminded.
“I don’t care what moon they are. I’ll kill everyone who comes forward!” Claudia looked fierce. She’d been practicing Serenity, which made her look kind of similar to Madam Kill-it-all.
The tunnel leading to the inner caves had obviously been widened, and marks were left from the demolishment. Shortly into their walk, they saw the barrier of the sanctuary. On it was an opening, but it was blocked by a scab, as though an injury on human skin.
Luna pointed to the scar-like mark and said, “Past here and onwards is the true sanctuary.”
Xerxes asked, “What’s with that opening? It looks like a scar, though!”
Luna said, “The barrier is very mysterious. It even has self-healing abilities. This opening was made by my dad’s tool. It used to be bigger, but right as I passed through it, I noticed it closing back up as if it was alive.”
“That’s weird.” The young Freya was still rather curious about the world.
Hearing her sister talking about something so special, she immediately stuck out her finger to touch the scar-like mark. She poked it a few times, and to her surprise, she felt something gooey, making her frown in disgust.
“What’s this?” She looked at her finger. It looked like some kind of mucus. It was quite smelly as well.
Luna looked over at her and made a funny face. “Sis, you’re all grown up now.”
“What do you mean by that?”
Freya was confused. At first, she didn’t get the joke, but she finally understood that Luna was making fun of her. ‘Luna’s being so mean, making a joke out of something so disgusting.’
“Damn it!” Freya pouted angrily and casually glanced at Alex.
She just happened to have an iron hammer in her head that she had meant to open the mountain roads with. Yet, now, she hammered fiercely at the opening as if venting her anger.
Crash!
The hammer produced a low crack as it hit the barrier. Not only was the barrier quite tough, but it also had some elasticity too. However, Freya could no longer keep her cool with what happened next.
“Oh my, what’s that? Is it blood?”
The rest were stunned. Freya had actually made the barrier bleed.
Alex squinted. Right at that moment, he felt the turtle shell in his mind palace move vigorously. It shook non-stop as if it were about to burst through his mind palace.
Claudia extended her hand out and dipped it in the blood. She smelled it, and her expression changed. “It’s really fresh blood, and it’s not the normal kind. The vitality of its owner is strong.”
The others felt even more confused.
“It can’t be that this sanctuary has flesh and blood?”
“Let’s break it open, and we’ll see.”
Despite this, they were here to save, not investigate some blood. Time was very precious, and no matter what was up with this opening, now that the members of the Lunula sect were all inside, the safety of Jade and the others were at stake.
“Let’s attack together!”
Boom… Boom…
The opening widened in an instant.
It felt weird indeed as if some being’s flesh was being torn open. Fresh blood spewed out, but after a little while, it seemed to come to an end, and the opening turned white. It formed a tunnel the height of a man.
“I’ll go in first!” Luna took the lead and went through the tunnel.
The whole process was kind of like going through some sort of enchantment. When she truly entered the tunnel, it was like a large screen separating the two spaces, just like a portal.
