Chapter 2221

Chapter 2221

Power struggles plagued most wealthy families, and the Lindberg clan was no exception. Beneath the surface, rivalries ran deep. Sven himself had nearly lost his life once because of them.

“Calvin, you should let it go sooner rather than later and find someone who can take care of you,” Sven urged again.

Calvin laughed lightly. “I know. Don’t worry—I moved on a long time ago.”

Sven nodded.

Just then, Charlotte stepped outside. “Calvin.”

Calvin turned toward her. “Happy wedding. May you grow old together.”

“Thank you,” Charlotte replied.

“My driver’s here, so I won’t stay. Goodbye.”

Calvin spotted the car pulling up. After exchanging a few words with them, he climbed in and left.

Charlotte and Sven watched as the car drove away.

Once it disappeared from sight, Charlotte sighed. “Calvin is such an outstanding man. It’s a shame he hasn’t found the right person yet.”

“That’s just how he is—single-minded,” Sven said.

Charlotte chuckled softly. “You’re always calling other people stubborn, but from where I’m standing, you’re the stubborn one.”

Sven lowered his chin and studied her face. “Am I?”

“Of course you are.”

He scratched the back of his head. “Well… I never noticed.”

Charlotte looped her arm through his. “Come on, let’s head home.”

“Mm.” Sven nodded readily.

The two of them walked off together, their backs side by side, strangely well matched.

Cecilia flew home with the chaos of the previous night replaying endlessly in her mind.

She drifted into a shallow sleep, only to jolt awake moments later, her forehead damp with sweat.

“Ceci, are you okay?” Vivian asked, alarmed by the fear written across her face.

Cecilia blinked, glanced at her, and shook her head. “I’m fine.”

Vivian wrapped an arm around her shoulders. “A bad dream? Lean on me and get some rest.”

Cecilia gave a helpless smile and rested against her, closing her eyes again.

By the time the plane landed in Tudela, she had actually managed to sleep.

Vivian nudged her gently. “Ceci, we’ve arrived.”

Cecilia opened her eyes, surprised she felt a little refreshed.

“Mm… okay.”

The group disembarked together.

As Vivian scanned the crowd, she suddenly spotted a familiar figure and muttered, “That guy.”

Cecilia followed her gaze and saw Zachary standing nearby, holding a baby in his arms.

After saying a quick word to Cecilia, Vivian hurried over.

“Why did you bring the baby to the airport?” she demanded.

Zachary frowned. “I came to pick you up.”

“I never asked you to,” Vivian shot back, rolling her eyes.

Zachary clicked his tongue. “And you’re complaining? If I’d known, I would’ve stayed home.”

He gave a small snort before looking down at the baby.

“Magnus, your mom’s unhappy with us. Let’s go.”

Vivian quickly followed him. “I don’t dislike my son—I dislike you.”

Zachary ignored her and continued speaking to the baby.

“Magnus, Daddy takes care of you every day while your mom goes out having fun. When you grow up, don’t pay her any attention.”

“Ugh! Zachary, stop filling our son’s head with nonsense!”

Their playful bickering drew amused glances from the surrounding travelers.

Cecilia, Lucille, and Madeline stood nearby, laughing.

Outside the terminal, the Faust family’s driver pulled up, stepped out, and opened the door. “Mrs. Rain.”

“Mm.” Madeline climbed into the car and drove away.

That left only Lucille and Cecilia standing at the curb.

Lucille glanced at her watch. “What’s taking Mason so long?”

“Relax. He’s probably stuck in traffic,” Cecilia said.

Lucille tilted her head. “Ceci, is Mr. Nathaniel coming to pick you up too?”

Cecilia shook her head. “No. He’s busy with work. I asked the driver to come instead.”
