Chapter 2307

Jocelyn had no idea what was going through Yannick’s mind. She lifted her hand and patted his shoulder. “Dummy. How could I marry someone else? We already have a child.”

Yannick nodded with a smile. “I know. My wife loves me the most. Now you only love me, right?”

Jocelyn hesitated for a split second before nodding quickly.

“Mm. Of course.”

That tiny pause didn’t escape Yannick.

For the first time, he realized just how sharp—and sensitive—he had become, noticing even the smallest details. Almost like the kind of men who used to joke that women picked up on everything.

Back then, he had been the one women couldn’t fully trust.

Now, the roles had reversed. He was the one watching Jocelyn, unable to stop himself.

Maybe there really was truth to that old saying.

What was love, in the end?

Nothing more than meeting the one person who could keep you in check.

For Yannick, that person was Jocelyn.

In the blink of an eye, fifteen years passed.

Before anyone realized it, Cecilia and Nathaniel’s four sons had all grown up.

Every one of them was strikingly handsome.

Jonathan was the most popular with girls.

From middle school through college, the number of love letters he received could’ve filled an entire room.

Elliot wasn’t far behind.

He had become a wildly popular superstar with tens of millions of fans.

And not just young fans—there was also a large following of wealthy, older women.

They had watched him through his livestreams, seeing him grow up step by step.

At the Smith villa—

Cecilia had recently stepped back from the spotlight.

She had already handed the company over to Jonathan.

Nathaniel had done the same with his own business.

Now, Jonathan managed both major companies on his own—and did it effortlessly.

As for Cecilia and Nathaniel, unless something urgent came up, they spent their days traveling and relaxing.

There was almost nothing left for them to do.

Maybe it was age catching up, but Cecilia had started thinking like so many others her age.

She only had one concern now—getting her sons married and seeing grandchildren as soon as possible.

“Jon, didn’t you really like Dahlia and Amy when you were little?”

Dahlia was Cassandra’s daughter. She had later been adopted by Meredith from the Seiler family and had grown into a graceful young woman.

As for Amy—her real name was Amelia.

She was the daughter of Darren, Nathaniel’s close friend, and Madeline, Cecilia’s best friend.

Madeline had always been stunning, and Darren was handsome as well.

Amelia had inherited the best of both, making her strikingly beautiful.

Cecilia had even heard rumors about her—

that once, while she was out, a driver had been so distracted staring at her that he caused an accident.

Jonathan didn’t even look up from his work as he replied, a hint of impatience in his voice.

“Mom, that was ages ago. I’m an adult now. They’re basically like sisters to me. That’s not happening.”

Cecilia looked at him—his face almost identical to Nathaniel’s when he was younger—and at the cool, distant tone he used.

Somehow, the warm, considerate boy she remembered had changed.

She sighed.

“Alright. But if there’s someone you like, you have to tell me.”

Now that he was grown, he didn’t even call her “Mommy” anymore.

Jonathan nodded. “I will. If there’s nothing else, I’m heading back to the office.”

The moment he finished speaking, he stood up and left quickly—as if staying even a second longer would lead to another lecture about marriage.

As soon as he was gone—

Nathaniel, who had been sitting quietly the entire time, finally spoke.

“Ceci, I told you. Once sons grow up, they stop wanting to stay close. You didn’t believe me before.”

Then he looked at her with a coaxing smile.

“How about we sit and talk for a bit?”

Cecilia frowned. “Forget it. We’ve been married forever. What is there to talk about?”

Nathaniel looked genuinely hurt.

Then Cecilia seemed to remember something and added, “Oh, right—Calvin has a kid now. Did you know that?”
