Ch. 1746..1750

Chapter 1746

Chapter 1746 Lisa dragged Sherry into a rather inconspicuous sedan instead of the usual luxurious car she liked to be driven around in. They were quite some distance from the suburbs.

Sherry reached for her phone and dialed Caprice’s number. She had given Caprice a smartwatch suitable for children several days ago so that she could directly contact Caprice, effectively bypassing John as the middleman.

It only rang twice before Caprice picked up. She answered the phone cheerfully, “Hello”. Sherry lit up the moment she heard Caprice’s voice. “Caprice, it’s Mommy.” Caprice’s voice raised several pitches the moment she recognized her mother’s voice. “Mommy! Are you coming back already?”

“Mommy has something to do. I’m going out with Grandma Lisa and probably will be home later than usual. Make sure you eat dinner with Daddy, alright?”

“Okay.” Although Caprice was slightly saddened to hear this, she did not make a fuss about it.

Sherry smooched into the phone receiver.

As Caprice mimicked her and smooched, the pair of mother and daughter shared an intimate moment over the phone. After exchanging some small talk, Sherry hung up. She turned around to see Lisa smiling at her tenderly.

“Caprice is adorable.” She expressed with a sigh, “I wonder if | will ever have a cute granddaughter like her in the future.” Sherry smiled and assured her, “I’m sure you will.”

Lisa observed her for a moment, then she took a deep breath. “I sure hope so.”

Inside the hotel opposite the apartment building where Sherry lived, in a penthouse suite, the man was sitting on a couch positioned adjacent to the bed with a newspaper in his hand. He was browsing through the finance section.

Caprice w huddled next to him, having just wrapped up her call with her mother.

“Daddy, Mommy says she will be home later than usual tonight,” she announced as she turned to John.

John smiled, “Alright, Daddy heard you two on the phone.”

Caprice leaned against him and muttered, “I wonder what Mommy is doing with Grandma Lisa.”

She reached for a bowl of snacks and began munching.

John smiled silently.

They were going to see some action. What else?

On the outskirts of Coastrock was a cluster of villas. These were not the most premium residence

available in the city region; it was merely an above-average selection.

The surroundings were posh enough but nothing to write home about either. It was most certainly not the first choice for the wealthiest members of the city.

Lisa somehow got her hands on an access card and managed to drive through the main entrance of the district along with Sherry. After making a couple of turns, they found themselves at a

lakeside villa.

They parked underneath the shade of trees.

There was a row of cars parked in front of their car. Each of these cars was worth well in the range of one to two million. They wagered the cars belonged to the owner of the villa as well as some of the staff operating inside.

Sherry wanted to step out of the car but Lisa quickly stopped her.

Lisa informed her patiently, “Just stay in the car. We don’t have to go out.” Sherry gestured ‘okay’, then she inched next to the window and stared outside. Boom!

Aloud and piercing thunder boomed across the sky. What followed afterward was an immediate downpour, and the landscape was transformed in an instant.

Despite the heavy rain, they still had a good view of what was going on outside. Soon, Sherry spotted see a familiar car driving toward them.

If her memory served her correctly, it was Ron’s car.

Chapter 1747

Shortly after, the car came to a stop a short distance from them.

Ron stepped out of the car; he was by himself. He held an umbrella in hand and walked toward the villa.

Upon reaching the front door, he looked around suspiciously before pushing the door open.

Someone had been waiting inside for him the entire time. The moment he pushed the door open, a woman was revealed. She excitedly threw herself into Ron’s arms as soon as the door was opened.

The two behaved like a pair of a couple that had been reunited after an indeterminable length of separation. It was as if they were mimicking the scenes commonly seen in romantic movies. It would have made for a wonderful scene if not for Ron’s bulging belly and unsightly appearance.

Stalking from a short distance, Sherry and Lisa watched as Ron kissed the young woman in his arms, then went into the house with his arms wrapped around her.

Sherry felt a wave of chill and goosebumps crawling on her skin. She turned to Lisa and asked, ” Aunt Lisa, is this the mistress he’s been hiding?”

Lisa chuckled humorously, “You could say that. This mistress of his used to be his secretary. Keep your eyes peeled. This is only the beginning.”

As soon as she said this, another car swerved into the compound.

The car screeched to a stop directly in front of the front door of the villa. The door was swiftly thrown open and out came three stocky and large bodyguards, followed by what seemed like a middle-aged woman.

The middle-aged woman was none other than Anne Sager, the one who had threatened Sherry only two days ago outside the Sager Tower!

Sherry drew her eyes wide open in complete disbelief. She pressed her face against the window. Lisa smiled and declared, “The show has begun.”

The men who came with Anne bashed through the door effortlessly. With that, Anne stormed into the house, a menacing air around her.

The rain was getting lighter by this point.

Shortly after.at, Sherry heard some cries coming from inside.

It was Ron’s frantic shout, followed by a woman’s shriek. What came after nat was a child’s cry. Sherry frowned and asked, “Why is there a kid inside?”

Lisa grimaced, “I think it’s the kid he had with his secretary.”

Sherry was startled by this.

Soon, two bodyguards stepped out of the house, each of them carrying a child who looked about four years old. The children were a pair of a boy and a girl. Both of them were frightened and were

crying for their mother.

The young lady, who they previously saw being affectionate with Ron at the front door, staggered out of the house. One of the bodyguards immediately seized her, and before she could fully comprehend what was happening, Anne slapped her across the face and hissed, “Whore!”

The lady tumbled to the ground, then she got up again and screamed frantically, “My children! Give my children back to me!” Anne wanted to slap her again, but before she could do so, a shirtless Ron emerged out of the

house.

“You crazy woman, what are you doing?!” He shoved Anne away.

If not for the surrounding bodyguards holding Anne steady, she would have fallen to the ground.

The ex-secretary threw herself at Ron and cried out desperately, “Ron, you have to save our kids!”

Ron put his arms around her protectively and stared Anne down. “Tell them to let go of Timothy and Diana!” Timothy and Diana were the pair of twins he had with his secretary.

Anne’s fury was biblical. It seemed like spouts of flame were going to burst out of her eyes at any given moment. Sherry could feel her rage even from inside the car.

Anne trembled with rage as she jabbed her finger at Ron and unleashed everything she wanted to say, “Ron, you ungrateful swine! I’ve been married to you for so many years. | let you into the Sager Corporation so you could have all the fame and wealth you ever wanted. | even took care of your family! As if cheating on me wasn’t enough, you went and fathered a pair of twins with this wretched woman and think | wouldn't find out! You’ve been hiding them here all these years! How dare you call yourself a man?!”

After her frenzied outburst, she threw herself on Ron and his mistress. She was completely hysterical and was clawing, slapping, and hitting them as hard as she could.

Meanwhile, the mistress was crying.

Ron’s face was covered with scratches in an instate, blood seeping out of his fresh wounds. In a fit of rage, he kicked Anne as hard as he could.

Thump!

Anne Sager was sent flying away.

Sherry grima upon seeing this and tried to get out of the car to rush to her defense. However, Lisa immediately stopped her from doing so.

Although Lisa had her problems with Anne, she was just as enraged by Ron’s inexcusable behavior. Despite that, she reassured Sherry, “Don’t worry, she will be fine.”

Chapter 1748

Chapter 1748 One of Anne’s bodyguards came charging in and promptly helped Anne up from the ground. Ron was going to continue charging Anne but wisely took a step back when he saw the bodyguard stepping up to defend her.

Anne pressed a hand over her stomach and groaned in pain. Her voice was a hoarse rattle as she said, “Ron...you kicked me... you dare kick me for a woman like her...”

Ron spoke with utter detest, “Don’t you dare insult her! She’s nothing like a foul woman like you! | would have dumped you a million years ago if not for your wealth and status!”

Such a hateful declaration came as a shock to Anne.

Ron would have given anything to punch her right in the face, but the rational part of his mind prevented him from acting on impulse. After all, she was the esteemed madam of the Sagers and held a majority of the shares of the corporation.

He swallowed his rage and put on a benevolent act to save face. “Here’s what | propose: | will be willing to forgive you if you let go of Timothy and Diana, then take your men and scram! I’ll pretend none of this ever happened. If not, I’ll teach you to not mess with me!”

Sherry was baffled. She had seen countless shameless men in her time but never had she seen such arrogance and shamelessness..

Even though Anne was getting on in her years, she had taken care of her health and appearance over the years, unlike Ron who looked several decades older than her. No matter how you put it, Anne was far more commendable in every way possible. It was embarrassing that Ron would ever

think he was better than her.

She thought that Anne would not stomach this and would rush up to slap Ron again, but instead, Anne fell silent.

Lisa sighed.

Sherry asked nervously “Aunt Lisa, Anne isn’t going to let him off, is she?”

“Based on her track record, she just might.”

Sherry frowned. She had heard stories of Anne’s past. In her younger days, she was an angelic beauty and a famous socialite who came from a significant background. One day, she fell madly in love with Ron, who in his youth, was a handsome man as well and was well respected among his peers. In tim, Anne had begged her mother for permission to marry Ron.

Anne’s conservative nature in combination with her fervent love for Ron led her to make many questionable decisions over the years. Despite catching Ron cheating on her a handful of times, she chose to forgive him every time.

After all these years, the situation escalated beyond mere cheating. Ron was sheltering another woman who had given birth to a pair of twins for him. To make matters worse, he was despicable enough to hit her to defend his mistress, so why would Anne ever forgive him?

The rain had stopped by this point, but the sky was still a depressing gray.

Sherry was growing anxious by the minute.

Meanwhile, right outside the villa, Anne was helped up by her bodyguards, tears streaming

endlessly down her face. Her eye sockets had become two empty shells, and she was completely out of herself.

Ron was growing impatient by this point and began shouting, “Anne, I’m telling you to let my children go. Are you deaf? Let them go right now, or else!”

“Heh...” Anne laughed hysterically. She suddenly snapped, turned to her bodyguards, and ordered sharply, “Take them away!”

The bodyguards immediately took the children to the car.

“No! My children!” The mistress wrung herself free from Ron and tried to run to her children. She ended up tripping over her feet and stumbled to the ground, then began bawling her eyes out. She stretched her arms out toward the car and pleaded desperately.

Her children were crying as well. It was a tragic scene to behold, a mother being separated from her children.

Ron was heartbroken to see his mistress in such a broken state. As he looked at his children whose voices had grown parched from crying and shouting, he felt nothing but pure hatred.

“Anne, you bitch!” He roared and charged toward Anne. He looked vicious and blinded by rag as though he was going to murder Anne with his own hands.

Anne’s eyes widened with fear. The bodyguards reacted in an instant and stepped in front of her to defend her.

Ron was no match for them at all and was flung out of the way effortlessly. He staggered back several steps before regaining his footing.

The mistress who was on all fours on the ground cried out in a distressed voice, “Ron!”

Chapter 1749

She picked herself off the ground and crawled over to Anne where she began to beg, “Mrs. Sager, it’s all my fault. Blame it all on me. | never should have fallen in love with Ron. | never should have been together with him in the first place. If you’re going to punish someone, let it be me, but please, please have mercy on my children and Ron!”

Inside the car, Lisa scoffed with stark disdain, “She’s fallen in love with Ron? As if anybody would believe that.” Sherry held her tongue. This ex-secretary of Ron was truly something.

Her tearful outburst incited Ron further, so his hatred for Anne had grown to an unprecedented degree. If he could, he would have killed Anne with his bare hands right then and there.

“Willow, get up!” He shouted as he approached the mistress hastily.

The mistress was drenched in tears by this point. She collapsed weakly in his arms and whimpered, “Ron, | don’t want to lose my children. | don’t want anything to happen to you...”

Ron embraced her tightly to comfort her. Bearing witness to this scandalous scene, Anne erupted with fury.

“You bastard! Both of you are disgusting!” she shrieked and charged past the bodyguard shielding her. She swung her fist in complete abandon.

Smack!

Ron parried all of her blows before landing a vicious slap right across Anne’s face. Anne howled in pain and collapsed to the ground.

The bodyguards ran up to her quickly.

Ron was one step ahead of the bodyguards and dug his fingers tightly into Anne’s neck. He glared at the bodyguard murderously and threatened them, his voice a sharp sting, “I'll strangle her to death if you come closer!”

Blood rushed up to Anne’s face, and she could barely utter a sound.

The bodyguards dared not approach.

Ron turned to Anne and demanded ferociously, “Let go of my children, or else I'll kill you right now!” Anne was crying again, and her eyes had become bloodshot.

She looked at the man standing in front of her and could not believe that this was the man she had once fallen in love with when she was young. She was heartbroken at the thought that he had been cheating on her for so many years and had been hiding a woman who had given birth to a pair of twins for him.

She lost the will to live. Ron let her breathe so she could speak.

She declared bitterly, “I won't let them free even if you kill me.”

Ron roared, “Now you've done it. You're going to die!” With that, he tightened his grip around her neck. Inside the car, Sherry was aghast. She was going to fling the door open and run outside, but Lisa grabbed her.

Sherry looked at her in complete astonishment. It was then that she spotted some movement from another car parked in the parking lot since the very beginning. Several figures bolted got out of the car and rushed to the scene.

All of them save for the last person who got out of the car and was taking his time walking to the front of the villa. It was none other than Carl, dressed in a charming pink suit.

Sherry was appalled to see him here. Lisa smiled and assured Sherry again, “Just stay here and enjoy the show.” Sherry stammered, “Okay.”

This explained Lisa’s calm demeanor. It turned out she knew that Carl had been lying in ambush the entire time. Besides, it would not have been appropriate for her to intervene as an outsider.

Chapter 1750

Outside the villa, Ron was just about to choke the life out of Anne when a crew of large bodyguards surrounded him. He was visibly jolted,

Before he could react to the situation, he heard someone speak in a low, commanding voice,” Take the girl.” The person speaking was referring to Willow, Ron’s ex-secretary mistress.

The bodyguards sprang to the task immediately and apprehended her.

Willow cried out, her voice filled with panic, “Ron, help!”

Carl commanded sharply, “Strangle her.”

The bodyguard complied.

Blood rushed to Willow's face as the bodyguard wrapped his arms around her neck. She began to whimper helplessly as she stared at Ron with her eyes widened.

Carl stepped forward, stopping between Willow and Ron. He glanced at Anne who was near passing out by this point. Then, he smiled tauntingly and asked, “Ron, why don’t we find out who can finish the job faster?”

Ron was horrified and furious. He roared, “Carl! Let Willow go!”

Carl tucked his hands in his pockets, completely unfazed. “You're going to have to let my aunt go first.”

Ron shot him a daggered look, then he promptly took his hands off Anne’s neck and shoved her away.

Anne staggered forward and nearly fell.

Thankfully, the bodyguards managed to hold her steady just in time. After making sure she was unhurt, they led her to Carl. Carl raised an eyebrow and ordered, “Let the girl go.”

Willow was released. She immediately ran to Ron.

Ron had Willow hide behind him as he assumed a defensive position. He shot a vicious glare at Carl. “Carl, this is none of your business. Take your men and get out of here!”

Carl smirked. “Ron, you've been hiding a mistress and children behind my aunt's back, and you even hit my aunt! Now, you're the one telling me it's none of my business? Do you take my family for a joke?”

Ron recoiled, and both he and Willow took a step back. He looked at Carl warily. “What do you want?” Carl smiled. “If you don’t want anything to happen to your beloved mistress, you'd tell her to leave now.” Immediately after that, he turned to the crew of bodyguards around him and gave the fatal order,”

Beat him up. Just make sure you don’t kill him.”

They charged Ron before he could even blink.

He turned around and tried to run but only managed a couple of steps before he was thrown to the ground, landing hard on his buttocks.

What followed after that was a vicious beating.

The bodyguards were well-trained and took special care to not hit any vital parts.

Ron groaned in pain.

Willow was frightened and could only back away while continuing to cry hysterically,

Carl looked on with amusement for a while before he turned to Anne.

Her men were surrounding her, keeping her safe. All the color had drained out of her face, and it seemed like her soul had left her body entirely. She stared blankly at Ron the entire time.

“Aunt Anne,” Carl called her name.

This pulled her out of her daze, and she turned to him and looked at him weakly. She did not know what to say. Her lips quivered several times but ultimately failed to produce any words.

Carl motioned at Ron. “Do you want to take him?”

Anne nodded weakly. “Um...okay. Take him and the kids for DNA identification.”

She already knew she was going to divorce him regardless of whether those kids were his or not. “Alright.”

Anne was helped into the car shortly after.

After Ron was beaten half to death, Carl called for a stop and had his men throw him into the car.

Willow cried harrowingly and got on her knees in front of Carl. “Please, please let Ron go! Leave my children out of this. They are innocent.”

Carl smiled sarcastically, “Shouldn't you be celebrating? You've achieved your goal!”

Willow flinched as she wiped tears away from her eyes. She asked in a puzzled tone, “Young Master Sager, | don’t get what you mean by that.”
