Chapter 1766 The security guards wanted to stop Ada from following Carl.
However, Ada skillfully shook them off with a couple of fake moves. They went for her from the right, but she slipped past them from the left and went after Carl.
“Carl, I'd rather die if | can’t be with you!”
Carl frowned. His expression spelled frustration.
Ada was startled by his reaction. She staggered but remained determined.
Sherry and the other employees were stunned by the commotion.
The other employees got closer to have a better look.
Sherry was watching and hiding behind two employees, and when they moved, she was exposed.
Ada was right in front of the entrance, and she spotted Sherry when she went after Carl. Her bloodshot eyes widened in shock. It was as though she ran into her arch-nemesis.
“Sherry Fowler!” Carl stopped and turned around to Sherry. Sherry pursed her lips. She immediately followed the other employees to the entrance.
“I still have to go to work. You guys go on. Calm down a little please,” she said as she strode into the building with the other employees.
Before she could leave the scene, she heard Ada screaming, “Carl, did you see that? Sherry doesn’t even love you! She has no feelings for you! But | do!”
Her voice instantly attracted attention to Sherry.
Sherry was instantly stunned and left speechless. She obviously had no feelings for Carl, let alone love the man. However, it was wiser to flee the scene than explain herself.
The whole company already suspected that she and Carl were together, and if she indirectly ruined Carl and Ada’s relationship or whatever it was, the suspicion would only get stronger.
She strode into the elevator, leaving the nosy employees and Ada speechless. Carl's lips twitched helplessly before they turned into a cold expression. He scanned over the other nosy employees. The employees sensed his angry gaze and immediately fled the scene.
Carl switched his attention back to Ada, who was looking at him intensely. He asked, “Ada, you said you like me, but what have you done for me?”
Ada was caught off guard by the question. It took her a while to say, “....1 spoke to Grandmother to treat you better.”
Carl scoffed. “Do you think | need her to treat me better?”
Ada pursed her lips.
Carl walked closer to her and peered down at her condescendingly. “Do you know what | want? | want to take back my rights to own the company. | want to kick those people who try to take my rights away from me, namely your uncle, Ron Wright!”
Ada’s eyes widened as she staggered backward in disbelief.
Carl continued, “Sherry might not have feelings for me, but she’s been helping me to regain my right and helped the company overcome many obstacles. What have you done for me?”
Ada stammered, “I...1... Carl scoffed. “You are not even worthy to be her competition.” His mockery and insult felt as cold as ice.
Ada’s legs turned weak and fell to the ground once more.
Carl wanted to walk past her.

Ada continued, “But Sherry doesn’t even like you and she’s been tempting you. She’s still seeing her ex-husband! She’s a bitch who has her feet in two boats!”
Carl's gaze turned frosty as he glared at her. “Shut the fuck up!” Ada had never seen such anger from Carl. Startled, she immediately pursed her lips in silence.
Carl glared at her “I don’t care if she likes me or not. If | hear one more word from you that bad- mouths her, I'll throw you to the sharks!”
Ada quivered out of fear. She dared not even argue or move anymore. Carl ignored her and headed inside. Awhile later, the security guards came over and threw her out on the street.
Many of the employees saw Ada tumble a few times wretchedly before she got up on her feet Carl had already left. She was surrounded by a group of people who looked at her scornfully.
Those people never dared to look her in the eye in the past, but now they treated her like some joke
Ada’s body stiffened as anger rushed to her head. She screamed, “What are you people looking. at? Get the hell out of my face! lll fire all of you!”
The group stopped gloating at her but someone argued, “Ms. Wright, your uncle has been kicked out of the board, and both Aiden and Caden are not coming back. You are nothing without the Sagers, so what gives you the right to fire us?”
Someone else echoed, “Yeah. If | were you, | would get the hell out. How dare you come here and give Master Carl trouble?”

People laughed at her.
Ada was infuriated. Her eyes almost popped out of her sockets due to rage. “Y-you bunch of idiots! Bitch!*
Her argument fueled the crowd’s anger, but someone else managed to maintain calm and pulled the group away.
“Come on, guys. Let her be. She’s at her lowest already. Not even Ms. Fowler wants to talk to her, so we shouldn't lower ourselves to her level either.”

After assigning Peter some tasks, he hung up. He was done with work for the day.
He looked at his watch. It was four o’clock in the evening, two more hours before Sherry came. back. He looked outside the window. It was a sunny day and it probably would not rain any more. He wondered if she could come home on time tonight.

Suddenly, his phone rang.
It was Jason.
John answered it and put it next to his ear. “What is it?”
Jason said, “Sir, Ada Wright and Carl Sager got into a big argument in front of the Sagers’ office this morning. She’s trying to be with Carl but got rejected in front of a crowd. Madam was there when that happened, but she watched from a corner. Ada spotted her and shouted at her, but she ignored her and left.”
John went silent for a moment. “Ada Wright? Ron Wright's niece?”
“Yes. You ordered us to keep an eye out for Ron Wright's movements, and we spotted Ada being thrown out of the mansion by Ron’s new wife. Ron did not even try to hold her back. She stayed in a five-star hotel for a night and went straight to Carl this morning.
Ada was Ron’s niece. Now that Ron was evicted from the Sagers, Ada would follow as well.

Caprice leaned on his shoulder and fell asleep soon enough.
The apartment returned to peace and quiet.
John paced around the house with the sleeping Caprice for a while. After a while, he put her into the room and tucked her in. He then said to Aunt Wanda, “I’m going out. If Caprice wakes up and I’m not back, tell her I'll be back with her Mommy.” Aunt Wanda said with a smile, “I understand.”
John went out.
The weather was great for a stroll by the beach. He walked past a florist and bought a fresh bouquet of roses before he took a ride to the Sagers’ office.
The sky was already dark when Sherry finished work. She stayed back for an extra half an hour just to tidy up everything. Thinking about Caprice back at home, she walked out of the office and headed to the elevator. When she arrived on the first floor, the door opened and Sherry walked out.
Coincidentally, she ran into Carl, who was walking towards her from the other side in a handsome suit. He had buttoned his collar properly and shoved the usual rose from the chest away, making him look more professional than a playboy.
He smiled at Sherry. “Sis, are you going home?”
Sherry hummed a reply.
Carl walked up to her. “I’m done as well. I'll drive you home.” Sherry immediately said, “It’s okay. My car is just outside.”
Gossip in the office said that she tried to tempt him, so there was no way she would let him drive her back, even if she did not drive.
Disheartened, Carl’s eyes flickered. He forced a smile on his face and said, “Okay” Sherry walked past him and headed to the door.

Even Carl ran out of the building and shouted at her, “SHERRY! MOVE!”

Ada came out from nowhere and charged toward her with a knife.
“Sherry, you bitch! I'll kill you!” she shouted as she thrust the knife at Sherry.
Horrified, Sherry’s eyes widened as she tried to step back, but it was too late. Ada was inches away from her, and the knife was aimed at her chest.
Sherry’s body suddenly turned weak. Just when she thought she would be stabbed, a strong arm curled around her waist and pulled her away.

She fell onto a strong and broad chest, feeling warm. Before she could even react, she heard the knife entering his body. “Aaaah!” The female employees screamed.
The man’s body froze.
