Ch. 1806..1810
Chapter 1806
Chapter 1806 To Sherry’s surprise, Queenie and Madam Stockton came to the airport to pick them up. After leaving the airport, the group of Sherry, John, and Caprice headed back to the Stockton villa.
The surroundings of the villa were the same as they had remembered it. However, they noticed that there were new flowers in the garden and some new decorative details on the exterior.
Some of the flowers were in full bloom while others were still mere seedlings. As a result, it added a different splash of youthful flavor to the ancient villa that seemed to be a relic of a long gone past.
Upon stepping through the courtyard, Caprice leaped out of Madam Stockton’s arms and strolled into the garden. She jabbed at a colorful bell hanging on one of the branches.
Queenie approached her. “Caprice, | made these myself and hung them around the garden. Aren’t they beautiful?”
Caprice nodded, mesmerized by the trinket. She quickly asked, “Aunty, can | take it and play with it?” “Sure-” She had barely finished her sentence when Caprice plucked the bell off.
She did not forget her manners. “Thank you, Aunt Queenie.” Queenie chuckled softly. “You're welcome.” Sherry jerked her lips to one side and began scanning the house.
Queenie mentioned that she was the one who decorated the garden. Sherry noticed that the walls were painted with bright murals, then she saw strips of tiny bulbs lining the corridor. Was Queenie behind all of this?
It was then that Madam Stockton asked her, “Sherry, what do you think of the new look?” Sherry answered quite frankly, “I think it's quite interesting.”
Madam Stockton smiled and stated, “It was Queenie who touched up the place. | don’t know where she learned all this, but she insisted that this was how it should be done. If you don’t like how it looks, | will send an interior designer over tomorrow and you can tell them what changes you'd like to make.”
Sherry refused kindly, “I think it looks nice as it is. There’s no need to make changes.”
“That’s right. It took me a lot of time and effort!” Queenie heard Madam Stockton. She quickly marched up to Sherry and shot a playful, cross look at her mother, then she turned to Sherry. “But if any of these is not up to your taste, | wouldn’t mind if you get someone to make changes.”
Queenie decided to revamp the look of the entire house to remove all traces of Julie ever being here. Everything that had once been used, or even just touched by Julie, had been thrown out and swapped with new ones.
Sherry understood that she was now one of the Stocktons and that this was their way of repairing past mistakes. She smiled and said sincerely, “I think it's wonderful. There’s no need to change anything.”
Queenie was delighted to hear this and smiled with pride.
Madam Stockton was pleased as well, “Alright.”
After sending them back home, Madam Stockton and Queenie excused themselves and left. This was where Sherry lived with John and Caprice nearly a year ago.
Queenie had given the garden and the exterior walls a new look. The interior was more or less the same.
but the furniture had been replaced with new ones.
Special attention was taken to cleaning every nook and cranny of the house. The moment she stepped inside, the warm smell of home came up to greet her.
She looked around and let out a sigh of relief. She felt a hand placed on the top of her head, ruffling her hair
John spoke in a voice that sounded heavy with bass, “Sit down and get some rest.”
Sherry was feeling rather tired from the long trip here. She turned and glanced in the direction of the garden. Caprice was playing in the garden, inspecting the murals on the wall while Aunt Wanda was keeping an eye on her.
Sherry smiled softly and went to lie down on a nearby couch. She reached for her phone to send a text to Sylvia. She had been very busy with everything going on and had not managed to find time to contact Sylvia.
She figured she should tell Sylvia that she was back in Glanchester.
John sat down next to her and was on his phone as well.
Chapter 1807
Chapter 1807 After sending several work-related texts, he turned to Sherry. She was grinning as she stared at her phone display.
Based on her giddy expression, John wagered that she was texting Sylvia. He smiled faintly. After observing her for a while, he reached for a platter of fruit set on the table and took a slice of pineapple. He brought it toward her lips.
Engrossed in conversation with Sylvia, Sherry instinctively opened her mouth when she sensed something approaching. She only realized she had been given something to eat when the taste of pineapple swarmed her taste buds.
It was as sweet as it was sour and was very delicious. After she finished with the first slice, another slice seemed to materialize out of thin air in front of her.
Again, she devoured the slice that was magically brought to her lips, her attention still transfixed on her phone's display the entire time.
The same sequence was repeated several times. Every time she finished a slice, she would open her mouth again with full confidence that another slice of pineapple would be presented to her.
The queer interaction lasted as long as her conversation with Sylvia on the phone.
Soon, Sylvia told Sherry that she had to leave to attend a parent-teacher meeting, so Sherry said goodbye and wrapped up the conversation. She had just swallowed yet another piece of pineapple and habitually. opened her mouth, expecting another piece.
Amoment passed, then another. There was no pineapple this time. She found it rather odd and finally looked away from her phone for the first time. She met John’s sneering eyes staring at her.
He held a platter of fruit in his hand, and there were many slices of pineapples on the tray. Each slice looked so fresh that it seemed like it had only been harvested only moments ago.
“Enjoying yourself?” he asked with a smile. Sherry put down the phone and put her hand out “Gimme.” It was delicious, and she simply could not get enough of it. John took a slice of pineapple from the tray.
Sherry opened her mouth again, expecting him to deliver it into her mouth. Instead of giving it to her, he threw the slice into his mouth, savoring its taste himself.
“It is pretty delicious,” he remarked with a smile.
She shot a look at him. “I want a slice.”
He did not oblige. Again, he took another slice for himself.
Sherry was growing restless by this point and flung herself at him.
John swiftly ducked backward from her frenzied charge and had the mind to slide the platter of fruit onto the table in the middle of his maneuver
Sherry could not stop her forward momentum and plunged into him. She felt an arm wrapped around her waist like a belt. Before she could react, she felt a palm pressing on the back of her head, then her lips were flanked with the soft texture of John’s lips.
He only gave her a light kiss before letting her free.
She hissed in an unfriendly voice, “You bastard, what’s your problem?”
John smiled charmingly and said, “Let’s get married.”
Sherry was taken aback by the suddenness of this. “Aren’t we already married?”
“We only got a marriage certificate. He gently brushed her cheeks and spoke with clarity in his voice, “I want a proper wedding. | want to let the world know that we are husband and wife.”
His voice was gentle, and there was a fixed, tender glow in his. eyes
Sherry felt her nerves creeping up on her. Her mind acted against her and forcefully evoked the memories of John’s past wedding with Shannon.
She knew that John had only done so to spite her at the time. However, the consequences were significant since most of the relatives and friends of the Stocktons and Fowlers attended the wedding Everyone had been present to witness the union of John and Shannon.
Even if she would not acknowledge Shannon, they were still sisters as far as the outside world was concerned. She wondered what terrible things were said about her behind closed doors.
Her expression darkened as she said defiantly, “No need, the only thing that matters is that our relatives. and close friends know that we are a married couple. Nobody else needs to know.”

Chapter 1809
Liam was stronger than he looked, and he could lift Caprice rather effortlessly.
Sherry thanked him with a smile and noted, “There’s a dollhouse down the corridor. You can bring Caprice there with you.” Liam went to the dollhouse, carrying Caprice in his arms.
Sherry turned around and took Sylvia’s hand. “Syl, let’s talk inside.”
“Alright.”
Sylvia followed her to another room.
The two sat on the edge of the bed and chatted.
Despite telling herself that it was just a simple wedding and that it was nothing to make a fuss over, Sherry found herself wrung with anticipation and unable to fall asleep. She stayed up all night.
She and Sylvia talked about all sorts of things. They talked about the past and caught up on recent events in each other’s lives until it was nearly four in the morning.
They only slept for a few hours before they were woken up by Aunt Wanda.
Dawn had broken, and the makeup artist had arrived to help Sherry get ready for her big day. She woke up and jumped into the shower.
After the shower, they remembered Caprice and Liam who they sent off to the dollhouse last night. They went to Caprice’s room and gently nudged the door open.
They were both caught in disbelief.
Liam looked like he had just woken up. He was dressed in pajamas, and sleep still lingered on his face as he held back a yawn. Caprice was awake as well. She spoke in that signature darling voice of hers, “Good morning, Liam.”
Liam smiled faintly. “Morning.”
Immediately after that, Caprice turned toward him and gently pecked him on the corner of his lips.
Liam did not speak, but his eyes were drawn wide open.
Standing by the door, both Sherry and Sylvia were just as much astounded.
Astrange silence hung in the air for several seconds.
Sylvia shot a look at Sherry.
Sherry made an awkward expression, signifying that she was completely clueless as to what to say either
Meanwhile, Liam was still transfixed in shock. He stared at Caprice, a light shone in his eyes.
Caprice smiled a crescent smile and looked back at him shyly
Sherry had to do something She immediately approached them and promptly took Caprice into her arms.
Suddenly stripped away from Liam, Caprice rebelled immediately She cried out insistently. “No, | want to be with Liam!” Sherry frowned and cast a stern, questioning look at her “Caprice, why did you kiss Liam just now?”
Caprice made a look and answered confidently, “Because | like Liam.”
What?
What did children know about things like that?
“Mommy knows that you like Liam, but why did you have to kiss him?”
She even kissed him on the lips of all places!
“Because Daddy always kisses you when he says good morning to you. He told me that people kiss when they like each other.” She presented her logic very matter-of-factly.
Sherry fell silent. She did not know what to say, and her cheeks suddenly grew red hot. The child had learned it from John.
Meanwhile, Sylvia was looking at her with a teasing sort of smile.
Sherry shot her an embarrassed look. “I'll take Caprice.”
“Go.” Sylvia motioned.
Sherry immediately carried Caprice and took her to the adjacent room.
Chapter 1810
Chapter 1810 Sylvia did not join them. Caprice craned her head to the side and kept stealing glances at the door. She wanted to go back to Liam.
Sherry pinched her chubby cheeks and lectured her, “Caprice, the kind of relationship Mommy and Daddy has is different from the one between you and Liam.”
Caprice frowned and protested, “What's the difference? If | like Liam, then it’s the same.”
“You and Liam are both children. The way you like each other is different from the way adults like each other.” Sherry lowered the pitch of her voice and explained patiently. “You will understand when you grow
The last part was the only part that got through to Caprice. She shaped a short “ohh’ with her mouth.
Sherry smiled and told her nicely, “You can kiss Liam if you want, but only on his forehead or cheek, maybe even his nose. Anywhere but the lips, got it?”
“Why can’t | kiss his lips?” “Because children shouldn’t kiss on the lips. That’s for adults.” “Okay.” Oh well, she figured. As long as she got to kiss Liam. All she wanted was to be close to him.
Sherry smiled and heaved a sigh of relief, glad to finally have gotten through to Caprice. She sat her on the ground and gently brushed the top of her head. “Go on, go to him.”
“Okay...” Caprice ran out happily.
After a while, Sylvia walked in.
The makeup artist had arrived a short while ago and entered the room as well.
Sherry went to the dressing table. She chatted with Sylvia while the makeup artist worked her magic. Time passed quickly.
The sun had risen above the horizon and Sherry’s makeup was completed. She put on her wedding gown with its wonderful, silky fabric trailing across the floor behind her.
There was a knock on the door.
Sylvia asked, “Who is it?”
“It's me and Liam.” They heard Caprice’s voice.
Sylvia went to open the door for them and greeted them with a gentle smile.
Caprice and Liam walked in holding hands. They were dressed for the wedding as well. Liam looked dashing in the black suit he wore while Caprice wore a white frilly dress, looking like a princess who had stepped out of a fairy tale.
When they saw Sherry in her wedding dress, they were both in awe and did not conceal the surprise and delight on their faces. Caprice was enchanted and cried out, “Mommy, you are so beautiful!”
Sherry smiled and stroked her hair.
Liam informed, “Aunt Sherry, | noticed Uncle John’s car parked outside just now.”
Caprice chimed in with an enthusiastic nod, “Yeah, we saw him!”
Sylvia stirred. She quickly approached the door to shut it. Before she managed to close the door, two tiny figures bolted through the slit just in time.
It was Isabel and Flint. Isabel wore a dress identical to Caprice’s while Flint was dressed in a handsome suit.
As soon as they entered, Isabel clamped the door shut by throwing her weight against it. She immediately cried out excitedly. “Mommy, Uncle John is coming. Hold the door!”
Flint added, “Yeah, | saw Uncle John. We can’t let him in just yet!”
Isabel echoed, “That's right!” The two had run into the room as fast as they could and were still gasping for breath. Sylvia chuckled. “Alright!”
She produced a handkerchief to wipe the sweat on their foreheads, then she instructed them, ‘I'll leave you in charge of holding the door, okay?”
Both Flint and Isabel chirped brightly. “Okay!”
Sylvia returned to Sherry with a smile and gently took her hand.
Sherry smiled at her.
Soon, they heard a rush of footsteps approaching.
Thump, thump, thump...
It was immediately followed by a knock on the door.
Isabel and Flint turned to each other with a fever in their eyes. Isabel crossed her arms and shouted, Who is it?”
“It’s me, Uncle John. We came here together, remember?” They heard John’s deep voice permeate through the door. Something gleamed in Isabel’s eyes. She cried out again, “All | remember is coming here with fatty Flinty. Who is Uncle John?”
Swish...
