Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2051-In reality, there were some things even Lily could not control. She had initially considered things, hoping for a way to gather helpful information during the delivery.

However, there were no “ifs” and “perhaps.”

Lily passed out from the intense pain before the delivery. This delivery was much more painful and tumultuous than the last. When she regained consciousness, she realized her belly had flattened, and she was lying somewhere resembling a hospital room.

There was no sound. No one responded, just like before.

She could remain calm previously because her children were constantly with her. Now that she was alone and her children’s whereabouts were unknown, she did not even know if they were boys or girls, what they looked like, or if they were safe.

“Help!” Lily forcefully pulled out the needle from her arm, disregarding the pain. She knew the organization wanted her body, but she needed it to be healthy. If she died, it would not be what they desired.

She did not consider suicide previously because she was still pregnant. However, she could do anything after giving birth if the organization pushed her too far.

Finally, her commotion caught someone’s attention.

Lily knew they would be aware of whatever she did. After all, they had been monitoring her every move, weighing on whether they needed to intervene.

Someone finally pushed the door open since she pulled out the needle and even tried getting out of bed. Two doctors entered, one of whom she recognized. He had previously conducted her medical examination and delivered messages.

When Lily saw him, she quickly asked, "Where are my children? Where are my children?!"

"Ms. Christian, you just gave birth, and your body is weak. You need more rest!" Instead of directly answering her question, he tried to console her.

Lily utterly ignored his words and continued to ask, "Where are my children? I'm asking you, where are my children?! If you don't return them to me, I'll die here! I'm sure your boss doesn't need a corpse, right?!”

She grabbed the needle she had pulled out and pointed it at her neck.

Her actions frightened the two doctors. They looked at each other hesitantly.

One of them said, “Ms. Christian, some things are beyond our control. Why do you have to do this? It’s not good for you to stress your body like this. Lie down, and we can discuss things.”

“You’ve given birth to a boy and a girl. Both are safe and sound, so don’t worry, okay?” The doctor that passed on Alexander’s message took a step forward. “However, as they were born prematurely and have congenital deficiencies, we’ve placed them in the neonatal ward for observation. We’ll bring them to you once their conditions stabilize.”

Lily looked at him, not fully believing his words. “Is that the truth?”

“It is,” the other doctor answered, “What matters most now is for you to take good care of yourself. It’s the only way you’ll be able to see your children.”

“I don’t believe you. I want to see my children now!” Lily stiffened her neck and pointed a needle at it, unconvinced. “I’ll kill myself right now if I don’t see them.”

“Well…” After a momentary hesitation, the two doctors exchanged a look, and one said, “Ma’am, we need to ask for approval.”

“Do it then. I’ll wait!” Lily refused to make any compromise. She knew the decision was not theirs but had to threaten them to gain the upper hand.

The two doctors looked at each other, then turned and left the room. Since Lily was alone now, she carefully surveyed her surroundings.

The room was bare except for the necessary IV stand and the monitoring equipment. There was not even a stool or chair. She knew she was not in an ordinary hospital but a special ward prepared only for her.

‘If this room is just for me and we’re not in a regular hospital, how can there be a neonatal ward? Besides, even though I might’ve given birth prematurely, I was close to full term. How can my children have congenital deficiencies?

‘Not to mention, they had always been fine during my prenatal screenings. What they told me just now was an excuse.’

Lily was in pain and felt exhausted after undergoing surgery. Although she suspected her surgical wound seemed to have started bleeding, she hung on through sheer willpower. She knew she had no choice as it was her only opportunity to talk terms with them.

After a while, the two doctors returned, each holding a baby. One of them said, “Mrs. Russell, we’ve brought your babies here so you can look at them, but you must know you’re unable to care for them at the moment, given your condition.”

Lily eagerly wanted to get up when she saw her children but could not. However, the doctors walked closer so that she could take a better look at her two babies.

The babies had tiny noses and mouths. They were sound asleep and no longer as restless as they had been in her womb. Still, Lily knew they were her children based on their looks.

She knew they were hers, perhaps because it was her gut feeling, or maybe it was the inherent bond between a mother and her children.

“Let me—”

Lily reached out to hold them, but the doctors stopped her, saying, “You’re in no condition to hold the babies. Rest assured that we won’t hurt them. You have our word.”

“Why should I trust you?” Lily glanced at the doctors coldly, then gently touched the babies’ faces and took a deep breath. “I want to see your boss.”

The doctors saw him and stepped back to make way for him. Then Lily glanced at him and placidly lay back down while adjusting her posture. “Not you.”

“Oh, yeah? But you said just now…” Fred raised his brow and dug his ear. “I must’ve misheard.”

“You didn’t. I said I wanted to see their boss, but you’re not the one!” Lily stared straight at the ceiling, unblinking. After staying here for a while, she had developed an ability to fix her gaze on the ceiling for hours.

With a shrug, Fred turned to look at one of the doctors, who hastily wiped the blood off Lily and tried to lift the blanket to check the surgical wound on her belly.

However, Lily held the blanket down and mechanically repeated, “I want to see your boss.”

“Do not push your luck!” Fred’s expression turned grim. “You should count yourself lucky that I’ve come to see you.”

“Oh, yeah?” Lily chuckled coldly and slowly turned her head to him. “You guys know better than I do what’s the most important step in activating R10’s full potency. If I don’t see your boss, I’ll kill myself.”

She added with a cunning smile, “Staying here is worse than death, and I might as well kill myself than trouble others. Furthermore, I’ll be able to ruin your plan!”

Fred narrowed his eyes and said, “Don’t forget we have your children. Don’t you care about them anymore?”

“Of course I do.” Lily gazed at her children gently, then stared coldly at Fred. “Still, it’s a different story if you drive me up the wall!

“Besides, you can still hurt them even if I stay alive, right?” she snorted and continued, “I’m not that naive, and I know you don’t want me dead after all the effort you guys put in to get me here.

“If you don’t know what to do, why don’t you ask your boss? Perhaps he can make the right decision,” she said mockingly, trying to provoke Fred.

What she said upset Fred, and he glared fiercely at Lily, saying, “Do you think you can threaten us now? Do you think it has to be you? You know there’s nothing our organization can’t accomplish, and it’s not a challenge to get someone else to replace you!”

He looked confident, as if everything was under his control.

“Oh? There’s nothing you guys can’t accomplish, huh?” Lily chuckled and shook her head. “You seem to have forgotten that I was the one who made R10 work. Could you guys have done that without me?

“Besides, I know R10 better than anyone. How do you know I’ve not kept its weakness from you? Are you sure the drug will achieve its maximum potency after activation?

“If your research team is so competent, why couldn’t they make it work in the first place? There are many herbal ingredients in R10. Does your team understand them? If you use the drug on your boss and it backfires, no one can save him!”

Lily’s words made Fred feel unsettled.

‘She’s right. Our research team failed to create R10, and we sought her help because she was the only one who could do it based on the information we gathered. She eventually created it, but what about its potential side effects and efficacy? Nobody knows for sure.’

“I don’t want to waste my breath, and we both know you can’t make the final decision. So, just ask your boss, okay? I can wait, but my patience is wearing thin.” Lily shut her eyes and added, “You know how easy it is for me to kill myself.”

Fred was at a loss for words. His face stiffened as he glared at Lily. However, he knew he could do nothing. He gave the doctors a look, then turned to leave the room, saying, “Take her children away!”

One of the doctors went after Fred while carrying the two babies, and Lily wanted to open her eyes to look, but she gritted her teeth and stopped herself instead.

‘I won’t change a thing even if I look at them. What matters now is that I save myself and my babies!’

The other doctor remained with Lily. He hesitantly reached for her blanket, and she removed it, asking, “Can you look at my wound for me? I think it reopened.”

“Ma’am…” The doctor helplessly sighed and examined Lily’s bleeding wound. Then he used a cotton swab to wipe off the blood before closing the wound again. “Why are you doing this to yourself?”

“You should know why. You’re a doctor, and I’m sure you know what they’re up to, right?” Lily spoke placidly, feeling a slight sting on her abdomen.

However, the pain was nothing compared to what she felt inwardly.

She felt overwhelmed with a sense of hopelessness, knowing Alexander must be trying to handle the situation on the outside. Meanwhile, Lily still failed to meet the organization’s mastermind.

‘It sucks not knowing who my enemy is!’

The doctor gave no reply and treated her wound in silence. However, Lily did not expect him to answer her because she knew the place must also be under surveillance.

Nonetheless, when the doctor almost finished stitching Lily up, he straightened his back and casually said, “I’m sure your efforts will pay off in the end, but before that, you must take good care of yourself, okay?”

Lily was stunned.

Although Alexander had caught Rhea, he did not know what to do with her. Since she was an extremely dangerous psychopath and he could not hand her over to the police just yet, he could only lock her up for the time being.

After all, they had no idea how many laboratory personnel were spies working for the organization or how many dangerous viruses were there.

“Can you cope?” Alexander hesitated. If it were before, he would have ordered Edward to go there immediately. However, things were different now.

Although Edward seemed like his usual self, Lily told Alexander that the former had gotten infected with the virus. Unlike Austin, Edward’s virus was latent and caused chronic harm.

Edward looked fine on the surface, and not even the hospital doctors could tell anything was wrong with him. Still, the harsh truth was that the virus gradually damaged his organs.

With his vitality deteriorating, he would become increasingly incapacitated, as if he had been poisoned or severely injured, and his condition could turn fatal.

Unfortunately, although Lily promised to treat Edward as soon as she returned, she had not yet returned.

“What did you say?” Olivia’s horrified voice sounded from outside the door. She nearly dropped the bag she was holding but quickly tightened her grip. Her eyes were wide with shock. “You’re infected? With what?”

She charged over and grabbed Edward’s shoulders before looking at him up and down. However, she could not see anything wrong with him.

“What kind of infection? Tell me! What the hell are you planning to do? Why can’t you tell me anything? I’m your wife, for God’s sake!” Olivia burst into tears as she spoke.

“Liv, why are you—” Edward was shocked to see his wife showing up so suddenly.

A bodyguard hurried over, saying, “Mrs. Sullivan said she was here for an important matter and didn’t listen to us. She—” However, he was too late.

“I wouldn’t have discovered your secret if I didn’t barge in! How long did you plan on hiding it from me? Did you want to bring it to your grave? What the hell were you thinking?!” Olivia was infuriated.

She was angry and sad to hear what her husband had said. She did not even expect to see him here.

Olivia did not know Edward was there and only knew he was doing something important. She did not realize he had returned to work for Alexander and was sick. She felt overwhelmed with shock after hearing what he had said.

‘I wonder when I would’ve found out about it if I didn’t overhear him just now.’

Olivia was so upset that she wanted to give him a harsh beating. However, she could not do so, knowing he had gotten infected with something.

Edward could only allow her to vent her frustrations and apologize.

Alexander seized the opportunity and interjected, “Olivia, you heard right. Edward is infected, but we can cure him.”

“It’s true.” Alexander nodded. He knew he had to tell them sooner or later.

“Alex, I know I’m infected with the virus from the lab, which even controlled my mind. Although I did regain consciousness later on, I knew I couldn’t live for long. Besides, Mrs. Russel took my wrist pulse before, and she knew—”

Edward thought Alexander was trying to console him and told his boss what he knew so that Alexander would not need to lie and give false hope to Oliva.

Alexander interrupted and went straight to the point, “It’s Lily who told me that.”

“Mrs. Russell?”

“Lily?”

Surprised, Edward and Olivia spoke at the same time.

Alexander wanted to give Edward hope so he would not recklessly risk his life.

He wanted to make his case, but Alexander did not give him the chance. “Enough! I’m the one making the calls, all right? Just do whatever I tell you. Or do you plan on defying me?”

Edward said earnestly, “I wouldn’t dare, sir!”

“Then I order you to go home and take good care of your wife and child, got it? Just wait for Lily to get back.” Alexander almost said the last sentence through clenched teeth.

No one was more worried about Lily’s safety than Alexander, but he knew he could never rescue her if he had not taken all the necessary steps beforehand.

“These emails came from Yudonia!” Alexander said solemnly.

Olivia nodded. “That’s right, and the person is from the royal family. I found the content of the last few emails highly unusual, so I thought I should show them to you. By the way, is Lily still safe and sound?” she asked solicitously.

Alexander narrowed his eyes as he read through the emails for a while. Finally, he responded, “She’s still alive.”

“Good to hear that.” Olivia and Edward sighed in relief.

However, Alexander’s brows remained furrowed, thinking, ‘All I know is that she’s still alive…for now.’

Alexander drove alone to the vaccine research center’s back entrance. The place looked the same, with the workers having to go through inspection and verification before entering or leaving the building.

He had expected it as the workers still had ordinary jobs, even though the secret and evil experiments had stopped for several days.

Several workers remained in the laboratory. However, they resembled headless chickens since losing contact with the higher-ups, and no one told them what to do next.

Rhea or Mike used to come and give them work, but even the two had gone missing for two days. The workers had food and water since they lived there. Still, they did not know what to do next.

The organization had brought them there to work. Despite not knowing the project, the workers knew it was illegal, judging from the experiments and equipment involved. Also, they had no idea what would happen if they left.

The workers were in a state of chaos without a leader. They did not know how to contact the organization, and no one continued the experiments.

Alexander saw such a sight when he snuck in at night.

These people would typically do their tasks, and the place would be bustling with activities. However, only a few people were around. Some wandered around yawning, while others lounged with half-closed eyes, almost drifting off to sleep.

They could have returned to their bedroom to sleep but chose to stay up despite having nothing to do. After all, they feared one of the higher-ups returning and catching them slacking off.

All experiments had come to a screeching halt, whether ongoing, yet to commence, successful, or unsuccessful. Only the door to the innermost room remained shut since the workers outside did not have authorization to enter.

When Alexander went inside, he released sedative gas from the entrance so that it would spread through the ventilation duct. As the workers inside were already sleepy, they soon fell asleep.

Alexander waited a moment, then covered his nose and entered. The area was full of laboratory equipment and containers. He knew they contained hazardous substances but was unsure how to dispose of them safely.

Although he doubted Rhea would hold Cameron in a conspicuous place, he searched the room anyway. He suspected her to have kept Cameron in a secret chamber or passage, but he had no idea where to find one.

‘Edward is right in saying he’s more familiar with this place, but I can’t allow him to risk his life again.’

Alexander reached the innermost part of the area but had only seen various unknown liquids and solids. He presumed they were finished products from the experiments sitting in cabinets.

He could not help but wonder whether the organization would abandon its creations and workers.

‘Has this place really lost value to them? If that’s the case, why would they spend so much resources conducting this many experiments in the first place? Was it all Spades King’s idea? After all, Rhea did many things on her own, too.’

Nonetheless, Alexander knew it was not the time to wonder about these things since the pressing matter now was to rescue Cameron.

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2060-Alexander stopped before the innermost door and carefully studied it. The door had high-tech security measures, requiring fingerprints or iris scans for access. He had to wait and consider his options since he knew his fingerprints would not grant him entry.

After a while, he removed something from his pouch and carefully wore it around his finger before tentatively reaching out toward the scanner. It was Lily’s artificial fingerprint. The couple had made one for each other in case of an emergency one day.

Alexander thought it might be helpful in this mission and brought it with him. He seemed to have guessed correctly.

In addition, Lily used to be an essential research personnel here for a long time. Alexander figured he should be able to gain access using her artificial fingerprint.

Suddenly, someone appeared behind him and shouted, “Who the hell are you?!”

Alexander was shocked since he did not expect anyone to be still conscious. He wondered if that person had already woken up.

He could see the person standing right behind him through the reflection on the door. The person was pointing a finger at Alexander.

After a pause, Alexander slowly turned around and chuckled. “Hey, I’m here to rescue you guys, okay?”

“Bullsh*t! You’re a spy.” The man did not believe Alexander and grabbed an iron rod beside him. “Put your hands up!”

Alexander knew he could easily handle the person. He cocked his head and sighed. “Well, since you don’t believe me, I have little choice, don’t I?”

Alexander swiftly kicked the man and sent him flying. The man fell with a loud thump, and the iron rod he held fell and smashed something nearby, setting off the alarm.

Alexander was stunned, thinking, ‘Sh*t! Now I’m in trouble.’

He pinched the bridge of his nose and wondered whether to proceed or leave first. At that moment, he heard a commotion from the other end of the corridor. “Is there an intruder? Who is it?!”

“Hurry!” Someone grabbed Alexander’s arm and pulled him toward the other end.

Alexander was surprised and upset when he saw who the person was. “Edward?! What the hell are you doing here?!”

Alexander was pleased to see Edward since the latter knew the place well. However, Edward had defied his boss’s orders not to come.
