Chapter 2274
In the video, Jon drove a kick straight into Felix’s backside.
Felix went down hard, hitting the floor.
“Done watching?” Miranda said, her voice sharp. “Ceci, your son is really something. He’s this young, and he’s already kicking his own cousin like that. Don’t you have anything to say for yourself?”
“Oh, right.” She acted as if something had just occurred to her. “Felix also said Jon threatened him—told him not to tell us parents that he’d been bullied.”
Cecilia listened without interrupting, her eyes fixed on the clear footage.
There was no room to argue.
“For this, I apologize—to you and to Felix. I’m sorry.”
After speaking, she turned to Daniel. “Daniel, please call Jon and Felix in. I want Jon to apologize to Felix in person.”
Miranda froze.
She had been certain Cecilia would resist, argue—anything but give in so easily.
She hadn’t expected an apology before she even pressed the issue.
Not long after, Daniel brought the two boys in.
Jonathan saw the video and immediately understood what had happened.
Before any of the adults could speak, he turned to Felix.
“Felix, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have kicked you that day. I apologize.”
Felix hesitated, then instinctively took a step back.
“I-It’s okay,” he muttered.
“What do you mean, it’s okay?” Miranda snapped from behind him. “He hit you. He threatened you. And now one little ‘sorry’ is supposed to settle everything?”
Felix wanted to say the kick hadn’t even hurt that much.
More than that—he’d been the one picking on someone else first.
But with Miranda standing there, pressing him, he didn’t dare say a word.
Daniel finally spoke up, unable to stay silent.
“Ms. Miranda, weren’t you the one who asked me to call Jon’s mother so they could apologize together? Why is it suddenly not acceptable now?”
Miranda frowned. “So she apologizes, and I’m just supposed to forgive her? Her son laid hands on mine, and a single apology wipes it away? That’s not fair.”
Jonathan’s brows tightened.
He didn’t want to make things harder for his mother or the teacher.
“If you can’t accept it,” he said, steady and calm, “then let him kick me back once. Then we’ll be even.”
A flicker of something crossed Miranda’s eyes.
She turned to Felix.
Felix hesitated, then nodded slowly. “I think that’s fine.”
Cecilia felt uneasy hearing that.
But Jonathan reassured her, “Mommy, I did it, so I’ll take responsibility. Don’t worry. I’m not afraid of a little pain.”
After all, how hard could Felix really kick?
Cecilia gave a small nod.
Children had to grow through things like this. If this toughened Jon a little, it wasn’t necessarily a bad thing.
Felix stepped behind Jonathan and raised his foot.
Not far away, Nathaniel was just about to intervene.
But in the next second, Felix lowered his foot.
He turned to Miranda. “Mom, let’s just forget it. This is enough.”
Just moments ago, when he’d been about to kick, Jonathan had glanced at him once.
That single look had sent a chill down his spine, breaking out cold sweat.
He hadn’t dared move.
Felix knew exactly what would follow if he went through with it. The consequences wouldn’t take long to come back to him.
He truly didn’t dare provoke Jonathan again.
Miranda stared at him in disbelief.
“What nonsense are you talking about?”
Such a perfect opportunity—and he was letting it go?
Her jaw tightened. “Go on. Do it. Don’t make me angry.”
But Felix stood his ground, unmoving.
For all her calculations, Miranda had overlooked one thing—
Even with her standing right there, her own son didn’t dare strike Jonathan.
And to her, that looked like nothing but weakness.
