Chapter 2287

Felix ran out of things to say.

He figured if everyone wanted to ignore him, fine. It wouldn’t last long anyway. All he had to do was throw them a few favors, and they’d go back to following him like before.

It sounded convincing in his head.

Reality didn’t cooperate.

Felix tried again, sending someone to buy things to win over his classmates, but they barely gave him the time of day.

“Stop wasting your effort. We’re not that easy to buy off.”

By now, every kid in the class had already seen what kind of person he was. He only knew how to pick on the weak.

The whole day passed, and not a single person spoke to him.

Felix couldn’t understand it.

Had he really been the one in the wrong?

By the last class of the day, the lesson hadn’t even started when Daniel called him out.

The other students exchanged confused looks.

“Why did Daniel call him out?”

“Who knows? You think they’re kicking him out?”

“Probably not. His family has too much money and influence…”

Voices rose one after another, everyone guessing.

Felix didn’t know what was going on either. He followed Daniel outside.

“What happened? Why did you call me out here?”

Daniel let out a quiet sigh.

“Felix, your grandfather sent someone to pick you up and take you to the hospital. It sounds like his condition isn’t very good.”

“What?” Felix’s eyes widened. “Then I need to get there right now.”

He still remembered how, before his great-grandfather passed, things had gone downhill fast in the hospital.

Now all he could think about was his grandfather ending up the same way.

“Go on,” Daniel said.

He handed Felix over to Robert’s personal driver.

The driver took him straight to the hospital.

The moment they arrived, Felix jumped out and ran inside as fast as he could.

“Grandpa, are you okay?”

Robert was lying in bed, but there was nothing wrong with him. He looked perfectly fine.

“Good boy, come here.”

Felix ran over and threw his arms around him.

“Grandpa, what happened? Why are you in the hospital? You’re not in danger, are you?”

Robert let out a soft laugh.

“Silly boy, I’m doing just fine. It’s nothing serious.”

Earlier, the shock had been enough to make his blood surge, but now he had mostly recovered.

Seeing the color in Robert’s face, Felix finally relaxed.

“Then why did you call me here?”

“Grandpa wants to ask you something. Where was your mother planning to take you today?” Robert asked gently.

Felix was still a child. Thinking his grandfather would stand up for him, he didn’t hesitate. He told him everything from beginning to end.

“I don’t want to go abroad. My mom insisted on sending me. If I hadn’t almost gotten hit by a car, she wouldn’t have stopped.”

As he spoke, he didn’t notice Robert’s expression darkening.

“Grandpa, you have to talk to Mom. She keeps trying to send me away.”

Robert nodded, his face set.

“Don’t worry. As long as Grandpa is here, no one is sending you abroad.”

“That’s great!” Felix lit up, completely unaware of how grim the old man looked.

Robert glanced at the personal secretary who had been standing nearby the entire time.

The secretary understood immediately and stepped out.

Then Robert said, “Felix, how about you stay with Grandpa for a while? With me looking after you, you won’t have to worry about your mother sending you away.”

Felix didn’t hesitate for a second. He nodded eagerly.

“Okay, okay. Grandpa, wherever you are, that’s where I’ll stay.”
