Chapter 2292

Elena caught the timing perfectly and spoke up.

“Brother, what happened? Everyone here is family. There’s nothing to hide, right?”

She threw Robert’s own words right back at him.

The corner of Robert’s mouth twitched. He forced himself to stay composed.

“It’s nothing,” he said. “My people just reported they still haven’t found Miranda.”

It was a lie.

What the secretary had actually told him was far worse—Miranda had taken key company assets, and some confidential information had already leaked.

Elena didn’t believe him for a second, but she played along.

“How did it come to this? Do you want Nathaniel to have someone help look for her?”

“No need,” Robert replied quickly. “Nathaniel’s busy enough. I shouldn’t trouble him over this.”

He took a sip of water, trying to steady himself.

Then he glanced at them.

They showed no sign of leaving.

His expression stiffened.

“Sister-in-law, have you all eaten? If not, there’s a good restaurant outside. I can have my secretary take you there,” he said, trying another way to send them off.

“Brother, you’re too kind. We already ate at home,” Elena replied smoothly.

She held it together, but her laughter was barely contained.

Robert was out of options.

He couldn’t exactly throw them out—not when he still needed Nathaniel.

So Elena and the others stayed a while longer, completely unbothered, before finally getting up to leave.

The moment they stepped outside, Elena broke.

“That was so satisfying. Seriously—way too satisfying,” she said, laughing and clapping.

Cecilia knew Elena had never liked Robert.

Even so, she hadn’t expected her to go that far.

After seeing Elena off, Cecilia and Nathaniel got into the car and headed home.

On the way, Cecilia let out a quiet sigh.

“If I’d known one photo could help Mom vent like that, I would’ve sent it sooner.”

Nathaniel exhaled softly.

“She’s been suppressed by him for years. That’s why it came out like this.”

Elena had been waiting for a moment like this for a long time.

“By the way, what did Robert’s secretary actually say?” Cecilia asked.

She had already noticed something was off.

“There are problems at his company,” Nathaniel said. “I think Miranda caused it.”

He didn’t personally manage every detail, but his network kept him informed.

Very little slipped past him.

Cecilia nodded. “I figured it wasn’t that simple.”

Then she paused.

“But where could Miranda have gone?”

She had exposed the photo to teach Miranda a lesson.

What she hadn’t expected was that Miranda would use it as an opportunity to disappear completely.

There was no need to think hard about it.

This had clearly been planned.

“Do you want me to send people to find her?” Nathaniel asked.

He didn’t care much about the situation, but if Cecilia wanted, he would act.

Cecilia shook her head immediately. “No.”

At a time like this, Miranda wouldn’t dare return.

Cecilia didn’t care where she had gone.

At that same moment—

A thousand miles away, Miranda stood on the balcony of a hotel room.

Her expression was complicated.

Not because of anything else.

Because of her son.

Felix was still in Clusia, still with Robert and the others.

She had no idea when she would see him again.

Just then, a man stepped out from inside the room.

Julian—the man she had been secretly involved with for years.

“What is it?” he asked. “Missing Felix again?”
